The papaya salad is so good. We could tell that they use lots of lime juice instead of lemon. We also ordered pad won sen. it goes well with the papaya salad. The green curry is also great. This place is much better than banana bay in Rowland heights. The servers were attentive and immediately fulfilled our requests for this and that.

I got in late and didn’t have time to go grocery shopping so I needed somewhere to get dinner quickly. I saw this place was a couple of miles away, so I decided to give it a chance. Even though I went 30 minutes before closing, my food was hot and delicious and the service was great. The amount of pad thai was so generous I’ll have food for lunch today too. With drink and tip it was ~$21.

THE BEST THAI PLACE EVER!!!Seriously the food- top notch. I mean I’m a connoisseur of Thai food. It’s soooo good and fresh and flavorful here. The Tom yum wings are one of a kind! Can’t find them anywhere else and they’re SO good. And not spicy. Children ca lmk eat them. Prices are decent and pretty average amongst any Thai place! Service is great whether you eat in or take out. They have great drinks as well and the actual restaurant is so beautiful and nice and clean and new. Food is ready fast even when it’s busy

This place is a hidden gem. Food quality is good and fresh. Reasonably priced foods. Be aware that menu seems vegetarian but it gives you choices of proteins. Place is very bright and spacious. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back!!!

BASIL & CO has reinvented itself! This upscale Thai and Vietnamese restaurant is a true winner. They have completely remodeled and renovated their restaurant to accommodate customers with discerning tastes. Their food is authentic and delicious, as always. Prices are very reasonable and portions are always generous. Servers and staff are very pleasant, attentive, and they are very glad to cater to all their customers needs.I would have to say that BASIL & CO is one of the best Thai restaurants in the SGV. Diamond Bar is lucky to have this gem in their city.

I live in an area with plenty of Thai restaurants and I pass by ALL of them to go to Basil & Co every single time. This is the best Thai food weve had anywhere. Their pumpkin curry and green curry are unmatched. We got the crab fried rice last time and it was insanely good. The mango sticky rice is incredible. Each time, we try one new thing along with our favorites, and were never disappointed. If Im getting Thai food, its Basil & Co. or nothing.

Basil and Co. gets 10/5 stars for the food but 0/5 stars for being so darn far from where I live. My wife and I live near Downtown LA, which is about a 50 minute drive on a good day, but Basil and Co. is the only restaurant Ill be going to get my Thai food from now on. I loved everything about this place, everything from the food to even the bathroom.My wife and I got the chicken pad see ew, papaya salad, and pork yellow pumpkin curry. I dont know what magical ingredients they put in the pad see ew, but that might had been the best pad see ew Ive had in my life. I demolished it in a few minutes. Papaya salads arent for everyone due to its fishiness, but I would like everyone to try this at least once. The taste was balanced so perfectly and all the flavors blended together so well. I usually dont like anything with pumpkins in it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the curry. I wasnt able to finish it since I demolished the pad see ew and papaya salad, but our server gave us a very nice to-go container so I was able to finish my curry for lunch the next day.Ive never written about a restaurants bathroom before, but I feel like I need to acknowledge whoever was in charge of maintaining the bathroom. Everything was spotless, but I really need to know which toilet paper theyre using because that was definitely softer than Charmin.Youd better not go anywhere Basil & Co. Ill be back hungrier than before.

I really wanted to like this place since I saw many promising reviews online, but it unfortunately fell short of expectations. Food was fine but service was severely lacking and left a really poor taste in our mouths.1) Don’t expect any warm welcomes when you get there. When we got inside, they stared at us, asked how many, pointed to a table, then threw down some menus.2) The server asked if we wanted ground pork and I asked her if we had to pay $2 extra for it (cause I was confused since it said that on the menu) and she explicitly said no, so we ordered it. Lo and behold, the bill came and we got charged $2 extra. I brought it up with our server and she blamed it on the computer and said sorry, but made no effort to make it right. We would not have ordered that had we known we would be charged for it.3) When dishes were brought to our table, the servers would leave it on the corner of the table instead of the middle ??4) It was really difficult to flag down a server. I asked a male server if I could have some more water and he never came back, then it took us forever to flag someone else down to ask them.5) We ordered their version of pad kra pow (I think it’s called hot basil on their menu) and it didn’t come with rice. I’ve never been to a restaurant that doesn’t include rice with pad kra pow… like what?? We had to pay $3 extra for a small bowl of rice and couldn’t help but feel like this was a way for them to squeeze out more money from their customers.All in all, would not come back here. The food isn’t cheap either, so definitely not worth it. Wish I didn’t waste my money here.

Just ate here at outside seating. Very tasty and fresh. Spicy rice with shrimp was delicious. I got the crying tiger entree which is a ribeye steak with papaya salad and special dipping sauce. Very good but also most expensive dish. Definitely eat here if you are in Diamond Bar. Very limited outside seating at this time but they were really busy with to-go orders.

Met friends for early Friday dinner reservation for four at six. Table not really reserved just seated at available table right by the entrance. Still undecided on worst place to be seated in a restaurant, by the entrance, the kitchen, or restrooms? Dining area is very neat and clean and visually appealing. But they maximize seating and minimize individual space for couples or families that may not want a table 6 inches from the other guests.Food was really good. Crispy egg roll appetizer was small like Phillipino lumpia but priced accordingly. Papaya salad was very good. I ordered the Wok fried wide noodles with gravy, tofu and vegetables. Noodles were over cooked and soggy. Flavor was good but not great. Gravy was too sweet and too much. Ordered spicy but had to add chili from the condiment tray that we also had to request to be brought to our table. Desert was rainbow desert and mango sticky rice. The rainbow desert is billed as served in coconut milk/cream base. Very little coconut flavor, too much half and half or other milk used to water down coconut flavor. Sticky rice was really good but nango was short of being ripe and still tart and firm, not sweet. We enjoyed dinner and would return but try different dishes.

Fine little strip mall Thai place in Diamond Bar, convenient to get to with plenty of parking.FOOD - All our dishes (crispy egg rolls, garlic pepper pork, yum woon sen with shrimp) were flavorful, well made, and a great eat.DRINK - My wife had the Thai tea Arnold Palmer, and the lemonade gave it a nice zing. I had the vietnamese coffee, which my wife borrowed when her yum woon sen spice level got hotter the further she got in.SERVICE - Service was very friendly, and the food was delivered quickly.AMBIANCE - The interior is clean and modern. Some of the tables have been moved out front of the restaurant, to promote distancing inside and to allow some outdoor seating.OVERALL - A nice little find. A must visit! We came on a busy Friday evening and almost turned away because seven names were ahead of us. They do not mess around with calling names and moving on if you arent there.We got seated within 15 mins. So happy we stayed. Restrooms were spotless. Restaurant smelled great. Very attentive servers. At least three different people checked on us during our meal.I had red curry with. chicken medium heat. It was the best Ive ever had and Ive had this dish 20-30 times over the last five years at various thai restaurants. The portion was generous and I was able to share.We will be back this month to celebrate with family because there is room for big parties of 10+.Last note: Im very picky with Asian cuisine and I would choose Basil and Co. everytime! Great flavors! We ordered the pineapple fried rice, green curry, tom kha soup, and mango stick rice. Spicy levels 1-5 uses the Asian standars, so level 2 has a decent kick. The fried rice is a bit wet and mushy, but the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Well definitely be back to try the noodles and other entrees.

What a night! We were welcomed into this restaurant with such a pleasant ambiance and spirit! Many members of my family are vegetarian, and they were so thrilled to see the amount of vegetarian options available! We have never tried better crispy tofu anywhere else, where its perfectly cooked with the right amount of crunch. Additionally, from the various spices to the variety of dishes, there is something for everyone here! And the take-out process was simple, it just made the experience so much better:)! The food was really good, but I wouldnt say it was the best thai place ive went to. I live in Irvine so Ive eaten a lot of asian cuisine and I honestly think this place is overrated, the vegtables are kind of cheap but everything is really cooked well. The texture of the food is the best ive ever had, but the flavor and quality of the ingredients seem to be lacking. The servers are nice, and the food is good, but I think this place is definitely overrated. The spring rolls are small, I would wish if they were bigger.

Oh what an experience here! Growing up, I have always been a picky eater, especially when it comes to Thai and other Asian cuisines. From the moment we stepped inside the restaurant, we were welcomed with such a heart-warming atmosphere, with objects all around representing authentic Asian culture. We ordered the Thai tea (the best Ive tried), Thai wings, Grilled Eggplant Salad, Drunken Noodles, and the Hot Basil Chicken. Each and every dish was presented with such immaculate presentation and immediately captured the taste of the Thai food. The staff was so incredible, working together as a team to ensure the wellbeing of the customers! Everything about this place screams perfection! My family and I aim to come here at least once a week to support this upcoming buisiness!

Horrible experience. I have been a loyal customer for 2 years. Bought $100 worth of food. 1 dish $15, was supposed to be mild and it was way too spicy--mouth burning several minutes after eating spicy. They had the nerve to have me drive 15 minutes back and charged me full price to get an order without the spice. And argued about it too when I even inquired about at least a discount! This is what happens when u get greedy and dont appreciate the people who supported u when nobody knew about u! Never again! U just lost a bunch of business. Very underwhelmed by the food here. Service and atmosphere are nice, though.We picked up dinner from here on our way back from the Inland Empire to Orange County. We ordered a papaya salad, pad see ew beef, chicken pad Thai (no nuts), and a pork fried rice. This is very basic Thai and none of it was incredibly memorable. The food here also tends to be on the sweeter rather than savory side. For instance, the papaya salad was way too sweet and the pad see ew was just about there, as well. The pork in the fried rice consisted of large pieces of thinly sliced, overcooked, and pretty chewy pieces of meat. The pad Thai was pretty bland. Basil and Co. is not bad Thai food (the store was packed when I picked up) but its really not great Thai food either.Luckys Thai Pantry in Orange has great pad see ew, with charred and thin noodles that are not soaked in oyster or whatever sauce they used to make the dish so sweet at Basil and Co. Tasty Food to Go in Long Beach (10th Street, cash only) makes a fantastic papaya salad, Laotian or Thai style, that is more heavy on the papaya and less on the sugar. Long Beach Thai is also a good place to pick up Pad See Ew. I would definitely return to any of these places but not to Basil and Co. It was too much money for too little food that wasnt even worth it. I could have made everything easily (except for the papaya salad) at home and it would have tasted better.

Basil & Co is delicious to say the least. I would say its the best Thai food Ive had. The renovation made the space even bigger and more beautiful and work as a nice first date kind of place. The staffs are attentive without being suffocating, and knowledgeable about the food. The Thai wings and the dipping sauce are to die for. Had the papaya salad, yummy. Discovered what larb and fell in move. Their version of Pad Thai has a nice balance between sweet and savory, which a lot of other restaurants miss. Oh and did I mention the dessert, heavenly! When mangos are in season, the mango sticky rice is the perfect way to end the night with (PS. Took a lot of restraint not to finish it all by myself). Oh and they have a new dessert, Rainbow Dessert, nice way to cool off the night with. There are plenty of dishes I have not tried yet and I plan to try it all. We just got some common Thai food to go (Panang curry, pad see ew and pad Thai) and it was disappointing. There was very little meat and the pad see ew was undercooked and the sauce was thin. It didn’t have the good fried pan fried taste it should have. The curry was bland, and Americanized. Pad Thai…. Couldn’t eat more than 2 bites.Tom yum wings were solid - well fried and seasoned. But the usual Thai stuff was mid. I guess you need to order the special menu items to get a good meal.

Best Thai restaurant in the area and its not close. Be warned I can handle spicy food but can only go 3/5 maybe 4/5 on their spice scale. The food is always packed with flavor, the drunken noodle, pad Thai and basil chicken are staples. Whenever we have family visit from out of town they always want one meal here and one at in n out. They have dine in but I discovered this place during lockdown so I always get my food to go. The staff is friendly and accommodating

Ive been here twice and each time the food was delicious, fresh, and well made. I love their plate of pad thai with chicken because, unlike most other Thai places that Ive been to, the meat is juicy and flavorful as opposed to dry and plain. The other components of the dish are equally as delicious. During the summer, I ordered their mango sticky rice for dessert and it great! In the off summer seasons, you can order the sweet sticky rice, so thats nice too! :)

First off I have never left a review for a restaurant before, but I had to for this one. This was my first time eating here, and I think this is the best Thai food Ive ever had!! All the meat was delicious, which can be questionable at many other Thai places. Everything just seemed more fresh and flavorful than other well established Thai restaurants. I called to make a reservation for two adults and one child for 7pm on a busy Monday night. We drove to the address and found Basil and Co located in a small strip mall. I love the design of their outdoor sign. Its simple, modern, and easy to see at night with the lighting. The restaurant is very clean and organized both inside and outdoors. Parking was easy to find. We arrived 10 minutes early and it took about 15 minutes for us to be seated, so right on time!The hostess welcomed us in. She was friendly, yet seemed a little overwhelmed with how busy it was as the restaurant was completely packed. I used to be a hostess at the most popular Thai restaurant in Washington state with waits being about 30 to 45 minutes on average, so I can empathize. The eight or so customers in line were understanding and patient as we all waited to be seated. When theres a line at a restaurant, thats always a good sign!The owner Calvin took our order. We ordered the following:1. Tom Yum Soup (appetizer size)2. Yellow Pumpkin Curry with soft tofu3. Pad Thai with fried tofu, no spicy4. Thai Iced Tea5. Fresh CoconutThe service was prompt and we got our food quickly.The Yellow Pumpkin Curry came out first. It was hot and really rich with flavor. There were a few large soft chunks of pumpkin, and the curry had a tiny spicy kick to it. Id never had a pumpkin curry before so that was something different I wanted to try, and wasnt disappointed. A large amount of rice came with the dish, which was nice.The Tom Yum Soup arrived and it was room temperature; I didnt want to be a bother and ask for a replacement so I just drank it. It was delicious aside from it being cold. Im assuming perhaps the soups were poured into the small bowls to get ready for the dinner rush? But like I said, it was really good and flavorful, with a nice spicy kick to it that I enjoyed.The Pad Thai was delicious. It had tons of bean sprouts and crisp long-cut green onion that made the dish taste incredibly fresh, with lots of crunch to every bite. The fried tofu was hot, fresh, and the perfect bite size. The dish has the standard pad thai flavor and was great. We shared it between two adults and a toddler and had a little bit left over to bring home.The Thai Tea was great: the perfect blend of thai tea, cream, and ice.The Fresh Coconut beverage was nice cold and refeshing drink. They even provide you with a large spoon so you can scoop out the coconut flesh after drinking the coconut water.Towards the end of our meal, one of the employees who was either a cook, busser, or another waiter, came to our table and offered my toddler a Halloween-themed Kit Kat bar which was really awesome! It made her evening, being a small child sitting at a busy restaurant. I even got a Kit Kat for myself. That was so nice of him. What great customer care and personal touch.Before we got our checks, even the owner Calvin came by our table to ask us how our meal was. He gave us the history of the restaurant and we enjoyed listening to his How I Built This story.The restaurant followed COVID protocol with masking. There was both indoor and outdoor seating available, as well as takeout. We would definitely like to come back again next time were in the area and recommend it to our friends and fellow Yelpers!

Wasnt totally impressed saw the reviews and was excited to try this place out. Ordered the tamarind shrimp and basil chicken. The shrimp was very basic almost like fried shrimp you could buy at the supermarket the tamarind sauce was what made it good. The basil chicken had a few pieces of broccoli and carrots and the rest was chicken. It felt like there was some bones in the dish and I wanted it spicy and it wasnt. Customer service was great though they brought the food out to my car and everyone was very nice and friendly. Ill have to give it another shot and see if anything changes..

The sauce is the winner of this dish.
