The service was excellent, the waitress was very friendly and guided us through the menu. We had the teriyaki chicken combo which came with a miso soup and salad. The miss soup was creamy and delicious. Try their avocado rolls. Big rolls and fair prices. Will be returning here when in Cathedral city, very close to Palm Springs.

This is our second visit to Unami Seoul. During our first visit, we got sushi and that was fine. For the second visit, we ordered spicy ramen, bulgogi and soon tofu. Unfortunately, the spicy ramen and soon tofu were pre-packaged food. My wife(who is Korean) and I were surprised to see that the ramen we were served was definitely the same packaged ramen that we get at the grocery store. The soon tofu was also pre-packaged and we definitely have made this on our own from stores like Hmart. I’m not sure if they may have sold out of their normal soon tofu / ramen, but paying $15 for something that costs only a few dollars at the grocery store was disappointing. The Bulgogi was average and the service was good, however, they were behind as they were busy.I don’t mean to trash this restaurant, but if you are looking for authentic and home-made Japanese / Korean food, go somewhere else.

My husband and I had dinner here recently and I was impressed with the cleanliness and warm atmosphere. We were greeted promptly with menus. I ordered Yaki Soba noodles with shredded vegetables and chicken. It was really delicious as was the miso soup which came as part of the order. My husband raved about his ramen with roast pork. We definitely plan to return soon. We felt the price of our meals was justified by the quality, and not expensive. Give Umami a try!!

The Umami Roll and the Sake Sashimi were fresh and nice. The sizzling Bulgogi was really tasty, while the Tonkotsu ramen could have been better as both the egg and the noodles were overcooked and the soup could have been more concentrated. Overall it was ok. Nothing really wrong neither memorable.

This was my first time at this restaurant. While I cant say it was a bad experience, it wasnt what I hoped for. I had the korean spring rolls(fried, seaweed wrapped glass noodles) which had good tasted but were extremely small, especially for nearly $9, and take an extremely long time to get down to a temperature where you wont burn your mouth. I also had the spicy dwaejibulgogi(되지불고기, bbq pork). I would have been surprised if there was even 4 oz. of meat in the dish as it was 75% onions. It had great flavor, but I was disappointed to find it was made spicy with jalapeños rather than the myriad of spicy options from a country famous for spicy food. Amazing, nigh perfect service from the waitress, but just not the food I expected from a restaurant serving Korean food, particularly for $43(spring rolls app, pork entree, and a can of coke) and still leaving not feeling full.

Worse experience ever going into a restaurant. Tables were available, but a rude lady declined to seat us because we didnt have a reservation. She just kicked us out; she didnt offer to wait or combine tables despite many empty outside tables and inside. Very rude, I dont recommend them to anyone.

First time here tonight for my wife and I. Excellent! Service was great. Small place, 12 tables or so. Sushi was great. Santa Maria roll and the gyoza were both solid food choices. The tempura batter is the best weve had anywhere! The Korean beef short rib is delicious. Somewhat pricy place but well be going again anyway.

A Japanese-Korean restaurant, I lived in Japan for some time and one of my favorite meals was at a Korean restaurant so I was immediately intrigued. I ordered the spicy tofu stew and it was delicious! Wish it was little spicier but overall it was a great dish. My husband had the bulgogi and it was perfectly marinated and seasoned. The employees were also very friendly and polite. I will come again!

Over priced. Ordered the Poke, thinking itd be similar to any other standard Poke out there. It wasnt. No rice, just iceberg lettuce, some misc toppings & a few morsels of fish. That was it! Small, tasteless, and $18. Then, to add insult to injury, they automatically added an 18% tip to the bill since there were 6 of us at the table. The Poke wasnt worth $10. Would never recommend this place.

Their sushi rolls either contain crab (imitation) or shrimp tempura. You cant get a clean spicy tuna roll or anything like that. Also, Ive called for to-go orders twice (months apart). Both times they said they were too busy. I asked if they had open/avail tables and the woman responded that they did. I asked her whats the difference if I order to-go or came in and sat down? She couldnt really provide an answer. I was ordering some sashimi - its not like you have to cook it! NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: If you dont want to do to-go orders, then dont offer it. And if you do want to do it, but want to discourage it, tell the person that youre really busy and it will take 60 minutes. I would have been willing to wait, but wasnt even given the option.

WONDERFUL SERVICE, EVEN BETTER FOODWe shared a bulgogi bento box (GET THIS) and two sushi rolls plus drinks. Reasonably priced, and delicious. Total was about $35, for more food than we could eat.They were happy to welcome us. Brought my wife for lunch (and got pedicures after) for her “Easter Basket.”Do yourself a favor and eat here!

Greedy. I am enjoying spreading the word of her behavior during the Pandemic. Selfish and greedy. Of course she will respond with untruthful remarks. Dont give this place your business. Also watched a man walk out of this restaurant and pass out in the street. Twice. Then lady staff came out and walked him to the driver seat of his car and let him drive off. Very dangerous!! He dropped all of his food. They didnt replace it. Unsafe & greedy.

Umami is better than your Mamas! Didnt get the sense they have high volume, probably a good thing for diners. The Sushi and other entrees were fresh and well prepared. Really enjoyed the Miso soup. One of our guests had to have seconds!Oh, nice staff too. Sushi chef seemed a bit grumpy but Ive observed that at other sushi places. Must be part of the training?

I visited this place on November 16, 2019. The waiter, unfortunately, I cant recall his name, is very nice and informative. He recommended a mochi dessert, which are ice cream balls, that are really good! The owner of the restaurant is also nice enough to served me a hot matcha tea which they normally served as chilled. Both the waiter and the owner went out of their way to accommodate me. I had the bulgogi served on a hot stone for the main course. It is also good. I would definitely be returning to this restaurant again.

When I went here for dinner with my parents and my family, we had ordered soup, sushi, and sashimi for our dinner here in Unami Seoul. After we ate in this restaurant, myself got poisoned because their fished wasn’t probably seasoned or their products of their food was expired. I wish google added 0 stars for ratings, but it’s not required. And we wasted our time and money which we paid $120.56 for only sushi and sashimi. I don’t recommend eating here if you are a sushi lover or a Korean food lover type of person. They establishment probably DID NOT season their foods. This restaurant only wants your money. They also don’t give a f*** about you condition or how you feel about your experience.

I was craving bulgogi and hot tea. I found this quaint little restaurant thats decorated with Japanese and Korean decor. The atmosphere was excellent to sit down and have a fabulous meal for 2. I ordered the bulgogi tempura combo. It came with bulgogi, shrimp and veggie tempura, rice, and salad. Perfect. Ill come back to eat the next time I come to town.

Had an incredible experience at Umami’s Seoul . Just learning about Korean food, and couldn’t have picked a better spot. I had a Bulgogi BIbimbop, wow the from the stickey rice to the fresh veggies and to top it off a fried egg, the Bugogi was so tender ribeye. We had also the sushi, the server recommended the Umami’s Specail roll, I’m so glad they did, talk fresh fish! This is my new go to place, 😋

I usually dont write bad reviews, but the taste is terrible, the price is not good, and the service is not good. It seems like a place that caters to American kids who dont know much about taste.The boss wrote an article, so I am writing additional content. Today I ordered chicken teriyaki, pork cutlet, and three crunchy rolls. They served it without salad sauce, and the price is the same as other places, but the amount is close to half that of other teriyaki restaurants Ive tried so far. After going to Togo and eating, I was so hungry that I bought more. Boss, did you say something to the employee in front of us today? I am also the owner of a business, and you need to put in some effort. Stop questioning me. Just be nice.

Korean food in Palm Springs! I didnt have high expectations because it was a place with a mix of Japanese and Korean dishes, but most of the Korean dishes were delicious, so I visited two days in a row.Especially recommended for stone pot bibimbap!I accidentally gave a tip of $10 or so, but when I got back I found out... Ill give you more next time.
