Benihana in Downey

The place was nice, the atmosphere was energized and the people we were sitting next to were friendly. The food was a little salty but it was good to eat.

Hello Yall Here i am again this time in downey reviewing everyones favorite Hibachi Restaurant Benihanas. This Location is nestled right on the corner of a huge plaza along with other great restaurants but of course you gotta go to benis. We made a reservation for a birthday party and they went above and beyond to make the surprise happen! They even held our cake in their fridge for us hahaha. We sat way in the back but thats alright we like the privacy we got a great fun chef quail who was funny !! hold off on the salt next time my guy hahaha. The Food was alright i got the filet mignon medium rare which was the best part of the meal it was tender and juicy but not much flavor. The Lobster tails are pretty small but you get a huge serving of rice and other meats. We also got some chicken breast and shrimp. The Drinks are off the hook!

We arrived and only had to wait 15 minutes before we got sat. We were like thats awesome I cant waiti to eat. The server was really nice, he was able to tell us a few favorites and what people like to order most. The soup and salad was very tasty, but after getting the salad we almost waited a little over 30 minutes fir the chef to arrive and start cooking. We ordered the salmon and shrimp yakisoba. If you you dont mind for your entire meal to taste the same this is the place to eat. If you do mind like myself you will not be satisfied. The Chef was cool and answered all my questions without hesitation. The 5 course meal is what we had. Overall it was not what I expected and I will not be going back. It was just 2 of us and the bill was 108.00. When they brought me the check they gave me the wrong check. The cool thing was the people sitting with us were nice and we were able to figure out what check belonged to everyone. 3 out of 5 stars for overall experience.

Such Great Service. Our chef made the night Wonderful. Very friendly n helpful staff. Keep up the Great work. We will be returning.

8pm reservations, its now 9:43 so we have been sitting at a hibachi table now for over 100 minutes (an hour and fourty minutes). As you can see empty plates, empty glasses and every time we ask when we should expect our chef its always oh just 15 more minutes. Terrible management, avoid at all costs.

The Chef was fine food was okay. But not for the price.they forgot my kids meals, even though we kept asking. It was rude. We couldnt enjoy our meals.They should have been fed first.As we were getting ready to leave they brought the plates.Expected us to pay for them.Again It was rude ans insulting.I asked for the manager. He took off the 2 over priced. $20. 3 pieces of deep fried chicken . My wife said 1st and last time we will come to this place.

Its a great place to take the family out once in a while.. food is good not that top notch but good the workers are nice our chef was entertaining and the alcoholic beverages are delicious. Overall its a nice place to go out to eat once in a while.

Great service and great food. First time having Benihana (I know thats weird huh).I recommend lunch. Lunch prices are great.

NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS LOCATION!!! I made reservations for 2 at 7:30pm I arrived early 7:10 and didn’t see the chef till 9:36pm remind you they close at 10pm !!! And on top of that our waiter was rude and had a attitude towards us because I asked her why where they taking so long ?? She informed me after I asked her that they where short staff and that they had a couple tables ahead of us waiting so that we had to wait longer ! I told her it would’ve been professional of her to inform us beforehand that way we could decided if it was worth the wait !! But NO ! And to top it off she was charging me for stuff I didn’t order ! I was glad I checked my receipt because at this point I was over it and just trying to get the hell out of there . They only reason why I even stayed was because my son really wanted to eat here if not I would’ve honestly left. Don’t get me wrong the chef was amazing but just the place has horrible management and waiters !!

Decent food and service staff. But place is ran down and the restrooms are not well kept at all. The carpet is beyond greasy and the table wasn’t even wiped down and cleaned properly. Not enjoyable for the price and the wait time, not worth coming back.
