Went here for dinner. Made a reservation for 6pm and were seated promptly. The service was attentive. Our chef was very friendly and entertaining. Food flavors were very good. Plenty of food also. Finished with sherbert.

Experience has been hit and miss when Ive visited but the food is fairly consistent in taste. We had Masa as our chef today who has been with the resturant for a long time and is always amazing. Our waitress was good and attentive. All items ordered were prepared correctly and wad timely. I will comment that they dont have Happy Hour on weekends regardless of the time of day which is unfortunate.

We always hit up a Benihanas when we can! As always, great food and great show. Only thing that wasnt great was the wait, despite having a reservation! We were quickly seated, but waited for over 30 minutes just to get served with the soup and salad! 🤔

Such a poor experience, overall.The worst noodles in my life. The “homemade spicy sauce” was just a spicy mayo (like sriracha) that was used as a sauce for noodles. In a “Japanese restaurant”.The chicken was very blunt.The portions small.The chef didn’t care much and paired zero attention to us; no socializing, making jokes or doing tricks. The chef just didn’t want to be there.Overall, the poor quality food was the main reason for the rating, rather the service.Fun fact: it took 45 minutes to clean the table next to us.

I’ve heard many good things about this place. We were excited to go. However, it seems as if this establishment has fallen from its former glory. Our visit was mostly “show” and a little “go”. If it wasn’t for the exceptional service from our server and the hibachi cook, our visit would have been a total loss. Sadly disappointed. The place looks run down, it’s small inside. Things felt a little drab and not so clean. The atmosphere wasn’t refreshing. This place needs a serious remodel. I really want this place to win and be restored to its former glory. Hopefully that will happen soon.

Our waitress was GREAT!!! Always making sure our drinks were full. She was kind and friendly. We had three birthdays at our table and she sang to us three. We were two different parties. The food was good, very delicious. The restaurant was cool didnt feel the heat from outside nor from the grill. The service was fast but not so fast that we felt rushed. The waitress had great timing. It felt like we were nit waiting around for the best round or drink. Isnt that fabulous. There were lots of birthdays at the other tables so it felt festive and fun.

Benihana was a decent restaurant. The shrimp, chicken and steak was not amazing but it was good. The experience kind of depends on the type of cook you have that comes to your table. Ours didnt say or do much. The chili shrimp roll was definitely delicious. They also offer really good alcoholic beverages. The servers were friendly. You definitely need to make reservations if you want to come here.

I had an amazing time!!!! My friend treated me to lunch and it was great!!! Our chef was Benny great personality not as much flare as a couple of the other chefs but I still enjoyed interacting with him. We shared our table with another family and they were very pleasant. The food was awesome and the lunch menu wasnt that painful to the pockets.

Placed a take out order tonight and although the food was relatively great, i had a problem with the service. I was given my take out bag and noticed that I wasnt given any utensils. How the heck am i supposed to eat my food? I had to wait a few min before I could ask for utensils as the hosts were helping customers get seated. Let your staff know to pack utensils when placing a to go order. Common sense!

Been there a few times with the family. My kids loved this place. Wife and I enjoy it very much as well. Food is always good. Today they were short staffed and because of it the wait time from the time you order and the time the chef comes out to cook was about an hour.Reservations are not required but I recommend it. Otherwise you will be waiting for a long while. I recommend this restaurant and it is kid friendly.

I was a really excited to eat here and made reservations a week in advance. When we got there on time, we waited 45 mins to be seated. I was a little surprised considering when we finally were seated there wasn’t many tables being used. There was just a lot of the staff standing around. When we finally were seated, we sat another 30 mins waiting for them to bring us drinks and then another 10 mins for the soup. Wait, wait, wait!!! We scheduled about 2hrs to be here at max before our next activity, but we were running out of time, so we paid our bill ahead of time just in case we had to leave without being served. With just 30 mins to spare our cook arrived. If it wasn’t for the cook’s performance and his humor to save this restaurant I would have definitely given this restaurant a 3 star review, but we really enjoyed the entertainment. The food wasn’t great, but wasn’t horrible. I would definitely say your paying for them to cook and entertain you, not much for anything else since everything else was bland and very slow.

This is the best Teppanyaki restaurant I have experienced. I am a return customer and will continue to return. The staff are amazing and accommodating and they love to celebrate special occasions with not only you but your whole table. Bring your fun and get your table to enjoy some laughs all while watching the chef doing tricks with his/her skills on the grill. Great night out!

Best place for Japanese food. Food is cooked very well right at your table. Everything is cooked perfect. I got the filet mignon and shrimp. This dish was called the Samari Treat with other sides to go with it. Well Worth the price. It is best to set up a reservation ahead of time.

We usually come if we want a fun night out with a little bit of a show. Benihanas is a place we used to come to when I was a kid so I still enjoy it. A little tip, order a drink from the bar during happy hour prior to sitting down, it will save you a few bucks.

Whats up with this location? I see similar reviews to the one Im about to give....We have been coming here for years for our family celebrations and have always enjoyed our experiences, however not so much this time. Our service was beyond bad, we were left seated at our table for probably 20+minutes before our server came to introduce himself or take our drink orders, then long wait to get our drinks and another long wait for our chef. When he arrived he didnt seem very engaged and the other staff looked miserable and unhappy. No smiles, no happy greetings. It was my husbands birthday dinner and his steak tasted like a stick of butter and oil, it was gross and not edible! We reluctantly let the manager know about this and she did credit our bill which we appreciated but it definitely affected his/our overall dinner experience. By far the worst experience weve had in the past 20 years weve been going to Benihanas for dinner.We will still patron Benihana but not sure wed come back to this location. Cmon ...Get it together, hire more staff to handle the amount of patrons/guests and Also a suggestion... maybe teach the chefs something new to perform while cooking instead of the same old tired stuff!? Also the place is less than clean (carpet and bathroom were pretty darn dirty)Im giving you 3 stars overall because most of the food was still good despite the overall experience we had.

Understaffed, unprepared servers. A couple servers looked a bit disheveled. Our table was #4, but chef was given ticket with #19. Confusion and lack of ingredients for the tables orders and sauces were evident as chef had to ask for multiple items to complete guest orders. Chef was GREAT cooking wise but was less engaging (not at all) as compares to previous experiences at other locations. Bartender was great. Manager PETER? Was also a bit disheveled and not looking professional with sport coat but white shirt tail hanging out back... Strange experience overall.

I waited an hour for pick up & the girl that took my order over the phone put me on hold for 30 minutes and rushed me when placing the order. I spent $43.20 on the filet mignon meal & this is what I got. Our entire order was wrong, I asked for 2 extra teriyaki sauces & they gave me 4 bowls of broth for some reason. After I asked them to please repeat my order back to me to make sure everything was correct since I was spending $150 they repeated it back to me with an attitude & the order was still wrong. No teriyaki sauce either. We spent extra on chicken & shrimp fried rice & this what they gave us. Waste of money.

I went here for the 1st time And my 1st initial impression was that its a very very neat looking like an old school Japanese building and I love Japanese culture so this was amazing. The interior of the building is extremely clean very professional very well dressed and the vigils such a staff as well as the visitors. I know it says on the outside a for short fancy apparel is required but they dont enforce it so dont worry if you come with a hat and A T-shirt just like me. The wait time was very short they said 30 minutes but we got in within a matter of 10 minutes or so. When we sat down our chef was chef Mike. This guy was really really amazing AKA the trick chef. He was very funny and His tricks with his utensils were so awesome! Not to mention that has food was absolutely Amazing and very Well seasoned. He was very entertaining and very enthusiastic about his job you can tell that he likes his job very much. The prices of the food I were that of any high class Japanese restaurant But very very well worth the cost. I will definitely be coming back to this place multiple times just to have their food And theyre amazing chefs Again. Great job staff and great job chef Mike!!

This is by far the WORST Benihana Ive ever been to. You make a reservation just to get here and wait 45 minutes to an hour to be seated. Then wait another 20 to 30 minutes for the chef to come out. Ive been here a few times (different days of the week and times) and its always the same experience. My husband and I decided to sit at the sushi bar instead of waiting for a table after we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time. Guess what??? The waitress forgot to put our order in. We day watching other guest who were seated after us get their food and finally asked whats going on. The manager explained she forgot SMH. To top it off they only offered us a gift certificate of $25.00 for our inconvenience SMH. Our meal was going to be over $100.00. We canceled the order and left without eating after being there 2 hours. TERRIBLE SERVICE

Upon spending gas and time to arrive at this location, we were told that the coupon would not apply despite a representative here saying otherwise. The female manager confirmed the other representatives retraction and the manager was not empathetic nor had any sense of traditional respect for their business making false claims. Our waitress was great she did her best even though the bar was backed up because they only had one bartender. The chef was great and so was the food especiallythe garlic butter🤤. I suggest making a reservation unless you dont mind waiting 30 minutes or more. We made reservations two weeks in advance. If you are uncomfortable with seating so close to others due to the times we are living in currently this place isnt for you. I say this because the family next to us kept asking the waitress to get us to move over. The waitress offered to get them a different table with less people but they would have to wait 30 minutes of course they didnt want to do that and so they made everyone else at the table feel uncomfortable with their attitude and look of discuss. FYI if you dont feel comfortable due to c19 book your family their own table or stay away from these kind of restaurants because you ruin it for people out just trying to enjoy a meal with their family and friends.

We came here on Labor Day for our sons birthday. The host were great and Justin our chef was very good. Our waiter was ok. At our table there were 2 groups and a birthday in each. Everyone in the other group got ice cream. Our son got ice cream but the rest of us werent even asked if we wanted anything for dessert, which we had seen on the menu. Cane in last night Friday 11/11/22 for 630 pm reservations. We were seated by 645 pm. I had my 2 year old with us and I was not offered a high chair, I had to scan the room and go get it myself. After the waitress( my receipt says her name was Mars) seen me over bringing it she said she could go get it...too late for that. So she took our drink order and appetizer order, I asked if I could order my sons chicken tenders before the chef came out and she said No because the chef cooks everything at the table. The chef (Mariana) did not bring a deep fryer😂 but she was nice, she was engaging, and she was considerate that I had a toddler and she made him his noodles first. So we all get our food...all 5 courses and the chef notices they still have not brought my son his chicken tenders. So we agree to have them taken off the bill, I told my server they never brought them and she also agreed to have then taken off of my bill....but minutes later..what happens.... another server ( the one filling our drinks) slips a bowl of chicken tenders over my shoulder...after our food was already packed up to go and after my son devoured the noodles while he was waiting!!!! I took this as a huge insult..why would u bring me something I took off my check? Try to feed my toddler after the whole table of adults has already ate.??? Did I look stupid to her? This was absolutely unacceptable . The only good thing about our first time here was my chef and the food she made us. 4 stars for her.

We let the staff know it was our first time at Benihana, we went to celebrate a graduation. The hibachi chef didnt even greet us just started cooking. We truly were hoping for the Benihan experience and relieved poor service. Ill start off by saying waitress was great as soon as soon went on break everything went to hell...no one serviced us or asked if we needed anything...we ended up getting filet mignon and they were all brown...we told the chef to change them he said they were fresh and just got the order today. We said we wanted to speak to the manager and he didnt want to get him finally he did and the manager came out and said they were fresh they just got them today. I said just because you received the order today doesnt mean the meat was fresh. So we decided to schange the meat to regular steak...then at the end gratuity wasnt added we were going to pay we realized it wasnt said something and they made sure to go back and add it which the service sucked

Our group of 20 came here to Celebrate my mother’s 92nd birthday! What FUN!!! The staff was fantastic!! From making reservations until taking doggy bags you were the best. I placed a to-go order at 7:25pm on a Tuesday for a order to be completed at 9pm. I arrived at 9pm and was told by the waitress they couldnt find my order. Then asked me if I just placed it. After I showed my email confirmation she then said oh it just popped up.She said she would go check on it. At 9:15pm, after I got no answer I walked up to someone else and asked if they can check on my order. At 9:30pm, I finally received my order. It was cold and not the full portion. I ordered hibachi rice with shrimp and chicken. I believe I had a total of 2 whole shrimp cut up into pieces. My short ribs were 6 pieces of bone and fat absolutely not one piece of meat on any short rib.This is the worst Benihana Ive ever been to. The floors were dirty full of debris. The service was awful!! The food was worse.I think Ill stick to the Benihana in Newport Beach or Arcadia where they value their customers!!!

Every year I have come for the past 6 years about and for the last two year so have gotten the same chef and he is amazing!! He even remembered us this year. I forgot his name because alot happened the day we came (not during the dinner). We were there 7/5/23 around 7:45 and I had reservations and they answered us pretty quickly. He was very interactive with the kids and did a great job with all my kiddos and very talkative child lol . Overall very satisfied and can’t wait to return. I’m sad we didn’t take pictures this year.

Oct 2021 : Worse dining experience ever.The meal started out with fried rice and chef put salt and soy sauce which made the fried rice incredibly salty and uneatable. The rest of the meal was about the same. The chef is flustered and look untrained for the job. Everything was throw on grill at the same time and over cooked . The chef try to make volcano and almost burn all the customers. They had to scrap the whole meal and have another chef come out and cook it again which made the meal 4 hours long. To top it all off there was hair in our ice cream and at the end the manager took 20 min to get the bill. Overall it was a nightmare dining experience. Do not go to this location. You will be sorely disappointed.

The hostess staff needs a lot of customer service training. Their attitudes and how they interact with the customers needs to be corrected. This is the worse Benihana I’ve ever been to. We had a 7:30 reservation and got seated promptly. We waited 15 minutes for a server to take our drink order then another 10 minutes for our drinks to come out. Our salads and soups came out shortly after but then we had to wait 45-50 minutes for a chef to come to our table. While we waited for a chef, 5-6 other tables were seated and two of them had chefs come out and prepare their meals. At this point I went to speak with the manager. A staff member said she was on her way out and after 15 minutes of waiting for her, I returned to my table because our chef had shown up. His apron was filthy, his hands were sweaty and he rushed through making the food ruining the whole Benihana experience. Three out of the four parties at our table were celebrating birthdays. The chef said that the ticket had been sitting in the back for 25 minutes before he realized it was there. When the manager finally came to the table, she rambled on about people camping during the 4th of July weekend and how busy they are. This was irrelevant to our current situation and was patronizing. Would not recommend this particular Benihana.

Should have received a credit to try them again, but no, just am empty apology and sucks you had that exerience as a response. ***Terrible first experience. I didnt even get to enjoy my meal. I have a selfish allergy so my meal was cooked in the back. However I didnt get my meal even after the cook had served all the others at the table. All of the food and drink are outstanding and exceeded my expectation. The drink had free refill. Parking at the Ontario branch should never be an issue, because they have both front and back parking lot. The experience could be made better if the server wasnt rushing us. Where should I start? Behinanas has declined in service. I made reservations and still had to wait 30mins to be seated. Then waited an hour for the chef to come out. We had different servers approach us and forgot to bring the things weve asked for. A large party came in and the regular dining room was ignored. My family and I got really lucky getting a table at the last minute on Mothers Day. We were in town and decided to call to see what the wait time was and they told us to get there in 7 mins and the table is ours. My boyfriend ordered steak, chicken, shrimp and a lobster tail on the side. He said everything was perfect and the steak was so good that it melted in his mouth. The spicy fried rice was tasty and very appetizing. The miso soup, onion soup, cooked veggies and ginger dressing on the salads was also extremely delicious. Even the ice cream after dinner was good! I got rainbow sorbet, my boyfriend got green tea and our son got chocolate and they were all super tasty. I also ordered hot green tea after dinner and that was good. Overall my family and I had a good time and a great dinner and it was a perfect way to end my Mothers Day. I highly recommend this place if youre looking for tasty food and great service.

Today March 27th,2023 I went with my family, three small children in our group to celebrate my daughters birthday. Say what u will about Benihana, when they get it right they get it right. Garlic butter is always a good thing. This most recent trip was good but not as top tier as visits to other locations. The inside seemed small and older. The cook was very fun and welcoming. He had great jokes and included everyone in the show. I will admit some of the meat needed a bit more spices. Overall though it was a fun time.

If you go, I suggest making a reservation. Without one from the time we checked in, we didn’t get served until about 1hr and 40 minutes later. Our chef, did his best, but was not as enthusiastic as others before. I felt he was tired and needed a break.The food was okay. I suggest the fried rice with shrimp and fillet steak. The food is good the butter sauce will really get to your stomach but its still really good food. I feel like they change their act up pretty often so thats cool because I go on my birthday and it seems like they have new acts. In addition the different chefs have different things that they do and some have jokes that for the most part are fairly funny to most senses of humor but they do adapt them for the audience. The waiters and waitresses are kinda slow and dont really check up on you but there is one lady that is really good she will give you good tips on food and honestly everything she really cares about what she does. She will even make sure that she gets other servers to come and sing happy birthday for people whos birthdays it is. Overall I would say the food is great, the meal sizes are fairly large and comes with lots of different foods. The entertainment from the chefs is good depending on the chef and their experience and service is okay.

I made reservations for 4 plus a high chair (5 people). The hostess confirmed my reservation. No more than 10 seconds later the short haired Hostess that checked me in walked over to the table were we had just sat down and with a angry attitude told us that the reservation was for 4 and that includes the High chair I said ok my mistake I asked so what do we do know she said your whole party is not here so you need to get up and go to the lobby, I told her my wife was less than a minute away cause she was parking. The Hostess did not care she made our party get up and go back to the lobby. When we got to the lobby my wife walked in and asked another Hostess since she is there already whats going to happen, thats when the same Short haired with glasses Hostess jumps in and starts to almost scold my wife about the group not being there on time. She then seats us in the same exact seats she had just kicked us out off. She really left a bad taste in our mouth if it wasnt that my kids were hungry and we were celebrating a birthday we would have left..So to the Short Haired Hostess with glasses that was checking people in on Thursday February 9th 2023 at 5pm You have ZERO customer service skills and they should retrain you. The reason for the rating is because of an experience that took place last night.My friend and I went out for dinner at the Benihana Ontario CA location. We were seated with two other parties who we immediately became acquainted with. We had a kind male waiter who took our orders. Unfortunately, one of the individuals from the other party informed the waiter that she had a severe allergy to a particular vegetable and wanted it to be removed from all the things she ordered. We all modified our orders in some way which was accommodated. However, this woman’s order had to be prepared in the kitchen and not to be theatrically prepared at a teppanyaki like everyone else all while missing out on the traditional experience and still paying the same price. The nice thing to do would have been to prepare her food first or offer another table where she and her guest could have their food cooked separately. Instead, the manager was blatantly rude to the young woman and nonchalant about her concerns.My family and I used to visit this restaurant often back when it was fairly new and opened at 4 pm. Instead of 11 am.The quality of the service has since declined tremendously as so has the food and drinks. I spent over $100. Just by trying a few of the tiger tequila and the purple party colada (which was the tastiest option I had all night) and this was just for one person. The drinks were watered down and the food was flavorless, even the soy sauce had zero flavor. This was not the best money we’ve spent out eating.The ambiance and presentation are usually nice but overall this place needs to be evaluated by Quality Control, CDPH, and San Bernardino County Public Health, and employees can use some additional training on how to appropriately address concerns like the ones from the previous night.

Ive eaten at this specific location twice now and both times it took well over 40mins to be seated, even though we had reservations! The staff is cordial but everything feels rushed. Overall my family enjoys Benihanas restaurants but this particular location doesnt leave us with a good dining experience.Update: We really enjoy this style of food and happen to be in the area, so out of convenience we decide to try this location during a weekday, hoping the experience would be better. We didnt have a reservation this time so we hung out at the bar until a table would be ready, which surprisingly took about 10 minutes only! The hostess was cordial, the bartender was GREAT and the waitress was friendly and engaging. She was slightly rushed in getting everyones order but overall pretty attentive. I noticed there were about 6 of the roughly 12 available tables actively occupied with guests. However, there was only the 1 waitress primarily working all 6 tables! So after taking our tables orders, she really wasnt able to come back very much and see if we needed anything else, unfortunately. The support staff seemed very reluctant to step in and help fill the void. I asked two separate support staff to get my water refilled, and both said they would notify the waitress. I even tried handing each of them our empty salad and soup dishes. The first simply walked away and ignored my efforts of clearing dishes. The other reluctantly snatched the dishes and immediately sat them on the empty table next to ours. There were 3 separate birthday celebrations, including 1 at our table, to which the staff half-heartedly sang their birthday song. The overall atmosphere is decent, but it feels more due to the guests dining with friends and family in a live cooking environment than from the actual staff. Our chef didnt perform any of the usual cooking jokes or tricks, surprisingly not one. Our order ended up slightly wrong, which the chef quickly acknowledged and said he had to notify the waitress, but he never did. I totally understand being possibly short-staffed, especially in todays climate, but that doesnt account for effort. We werent expecting white-glove service or anything close to that. But it wouldve been MUCH more of a pleasant experience had the staff shown more effort and enthusiasm.Final thoughts: The food is almost always decent, maybe 3.5 - 4.0 of 5 stars. The atmosphere is usually decent due to the guests, and sadly not the staff. And the service is, unfortunately, almost always extremely limited. The restaurant is usually fairly clean, which is nice, but somewhat of a minimum expectation for this price range of restaurant. If this location is ever suggested in the future, I would honestly push to dine at the bar. It obviously sacrifices the live cooking experience, which is somewhat now limited too, but the service would be much better.

Like lick a salt block and youd get less salt. The overall condition of the restaurant was disappointing. Not that my review will matter but someone could have called us to say they were running behind in case we wanted to change our plans. At 30 minutes when it was still looking hopeless on their end they could have Saids something. We were really left with no options. It was my fault for trying to stick it out in hopes that it would actually be just a few more minutes. My kid will never get his 8th birthday back. Worst management ever.

I booked a reservation 6 weeks in advance for an 530pm seating. Upon arrival 515pm my party was advised that we will be texted to be seated. When we werent seated by 545, I asked for an update. The three girls in the front were rude and advised that my party will be seated when they have an opening due to them being under staffed. While I understand stuff happens and staff calls off this should have been advised to us the moment we checked in. Our table was finally ready for us at 645 and no apology was ever provided. As we talked to our other Hibachi table mates we learned that the restaurant knew weeks in advance that they would not be able to accommodate all their reservations almost weeks in advance. This was just poor customer service by the facility and management as a whole. The only redeeming quality was the service we received once we were seated and the delicious food we were served.

For birthdays and anniversaries just not in California.The service was horrible, the wait was 2 hrs and was not busy at all. This wasn’t my first time but definitely my best experience! Today I went in to celebrate my grandma’s birthday. Benny was our chief and I am so thankful for him.
