On this day they were a bit slow, however they had a line so they were busy. Considering how busy they were I suppose I should still give a 5. My food was great but Ive never eaten a Ca Roll wrapped up like an ice cream cone. My husband got a spider roll, served like my California Roll...ice cream cone. I prefer the cut up bite size pieces, but oh boy, it was good!!!! There was probably more filling in the cone.... We had moved from the neighborhood where this store is located so it was a real treat for us to return to a restaurant we enjoyed for years. Enjoy!!!

I had the Thursday special with teriyaki chicken and gyoza 🥟 aka potstickers. My brother ordered the Same and added mushroom🍄 💣 bombs. They were so good and the bento box was amazing. I’m full and still have food to take home.

Feel like Im being taken advantage of. Its $5 more for each upgrade for salmon and short rib. I didnt know the $5 upgrade is for each. Buyer beware. It says salmon & short rib is $5. It didnt say for each. So the bento box came to $32.63. Way too much. Salmon is usually a bento box option. They offer salmon for $5 more. I have never paid over $30 for a bento box unless it came with raw sushi grade fish. This bento box is meat rice and salad.No soup no sushi no sashimi no tempura.Food tasted very mediocre in my opinion. They dont marinate salmon. Its plain grilled salmon with teriyaki sauce on the side.Yikes never coming here again.Hey bento box. Ditch the chic bag, high quality togo box and put it in a brown paper bag, Styrofoam box and save your customers like $10. Or just stop being plain old greedy.

A few years back, I used to eat at Bento Box a couple times a week. In the time since, the food has steadily gotten worse and nearly doubled in price (teriyaki chicken bowl used to be $8, now $14).I used to love this place, but it just isnt worth it anymore.

The food was delicious, a little expensive but you get a lot of food so its worth it you basically get 2 meals for the price of one with the box, only reason I gave them 4 stars is because I ordered Thai chicken which was supposed to be spicy, wasnt really spicy but definitely had a good taste

I understand the times are tough… but when you reduced the size of you salads and charge $4 more for them its crazy to not provide additional 1 dressing for it if the customer asks. I asked for 1 additional sauce and was told for one little container it’s $1! My salad, basically tasted like nothing, because there was barely any dressing on it. That is an outrageous cost. I’ve been coming here for years and unfortunately it’s changed for the worse. I know that things are different but change the right way. You can tell that customer service is no longer here. Forget this place. Go somewhere else that still has decent customer service.Additional notes: the owner replied, and left a number that is to the exact same location that I went to, and said to call, but the owners are never at that location. They’re always at a different location as far as what the staff said. Exactly what I’m talking about. No real customer resolution or customer service. Disappointing.

Ive had food from Bento Box for like 9 years now. And the blue hurricane sushi roll DOES NOT have avocado. It never has. So I didnt bother to check my to go order earlier, to make sure it wasnt magically added to my food. I guess I should have. My other roll was very tasty, I just wish I hadnt wasted $16 on a roll I couldnt eat (if you havent read my other reviews, I have a severe allergy to avocado).

I always love this place but tonight the staff was really on top of everything. My son had a hard time with the chopsticks, two seconds later they bring him a cheater pair without us even asking. Brought the food out as it was ready so everything was hot and fresh, super friendly and helpful. 👍👍

Arrived here because the name was interesting. Another lucky choice. Two little boys were with me and everyone enjoyed their choice. I had bento box....the spicy tuna roll was really spicy...tempura crisp and the teriyaki chickin yum. Littlest dude ate ALL his chickin rice and potstickers. Nine yo had ramen and we both agreed it was good. Little dude ate noodles too. Prices were good for lunch too.

I had the lunch special at Bento Box this afternoon and it was delicious. I love the dining area inside, it is not large but feels cozy. There is also outdoor seating available. And you can order your meal to go if you are busy. The default eating utensil are chopsticks (which I love to use), however, regular utensils are available upon request. Your food is served to you in a wooden tray known in Japanese as a Bento thus the name. I highly suggest trying the Teryaki chicken.

I’m not a fan of frozen food, when I order tempura shrimp, I expect them to have a tempura batter, I’m not sure what the breading was, definitely not tempura! And the tempura vegetables didn’t have any flavor, yuk. The midtown location is good, I thought this location would be the same.

One of my favorite Japanese places to eat. Love the chicken teriyaki. Their salad dressing is to die for. I always pick up a big cup of it they sell separately. And their little appetizers.. like the bean sprout one is very good.I can usually get parking right out in front. Employees are very friendly and accommodating. Love this place

There specialty rolls are so basic and blah, bland and no flavor, dont taste good at all. And I paid for green onions and Ebi on top and got niether one. Also the roll was completely slathered with mayo sauce I had to wipe most of it all off. Tasted like grocery store sushi, maybe worse.Never again.

Everything is being seved in To go containers. Which is just lazy and wasteful. Half of my roll fell a part anytime I tried to pick a piece up. Just seems like nobody there cared about running the business or treating customers like we are paying money to eat at your establishment. Will not be returning.

After moving to the area, we found it hard to find good food when we went out. Most are just alright. Coming from the bay area, we were used to finding really good food. It kept us home if we didn’t drive all the way back to the bay just to eat. I wanted to find some good Japanese food and went to some of the more popular places and left disappointed. It just wasn’t satisfying. Eventually one of our friends told us about Bento Box, so we decided to give it a try. That was over a decade ago. This is the only place we go to now when we want Japanese food. The owner is a wonderful lady, always smiling, always friendly. She has seen me go through two pregnancies and watched as my children grow. This is by far their favorite place to eat. The atmosphere is cozy, the food excellent, and the staff always welcoming. It is always the same consistently excellent meals throughout the years. There is no other place we will go to.If you are looking for a delicious meal, then this is the place.

Food is delicious, but customer service was terrible. We sat for 10 minutes waiting to be served. Then when we finally got the attention of the older lady, she was nice and helped us. It seemed like she was doing the most work while the two younger girls socialized with their group of friends the whole time.And never once checked on us.Even when were done eating, I had to get their attention to bring me a box and the check. I even still gave a 15% tip.I will actually go back because the Food is so good, but the next time, I will let them know ahead of time, that if I get service like that again, theyre getting NO tip.And I will let them know, from the gate, they need to work on their customer service skills and their professionalism. Cause if they dont, I will get my clown on and all of them are going to feel really stupid by the time Im done with them.

The food was good but not for the prices. I placed a call in order for deluxe combination plate and they failed to tell me over the phone that a few items I ordered on there cost extra. So I paid $6 extra for food and it took them forever to prepare it. Their food is already high for the small portions.

First of all the prices are insanely high. Second I order the romen soup and it was manly noodles and barely any liquid or vegetables or the main meat. Third the clams were over cooked and the shrimp was served with the tail still attached. I was hungry after my work out so it was fine. But for enjoyment not so much.

Been here twice (the first time, eat-in, was better - had a tasty beef teriyaki bento box that time). $20+ for a beef rice bowl (contains a few carrot slices & broccoli florets) & a 5-piece order of veggie tempura. The rice was kinda dry, but a generous portion of both rice & beef. Beef was also a bit dry. Sauce is provided but I skipped it after a quick, disappointing taste. The tempura sauce however.... Shouldve got an extra of that in-lieu of whatever other sauce was provided.

The Korean barbecue beef bowl went from really good to really really bad after the 4th time my wife and I ordered the same menu. Three times It was either 90% fatty or 90 % burnt. I could also taste and smell the propane gas burner on the meat. I guess now that its only take out, dinners wont be able to see how it turns out after we get home.. I would not recommend nor come back to this restaurant ever again...

Place an order on 3/16/21 for two dinners, one of the dinners in the bento box salad had wax paper balled up. While eating the salad I had a mouthful of wax paper mixed with salad. I called the restaurant the following day to make them aware of my complaint, they apologized and said they would let staff members know. Didnt offer to credit my account for that mesl, didnt offer a meal in exchange for this issue. If there was an option to add picture I would attach it! I believe that their customer service is not up to par. Ive visited this location several times before and always enjoyed my meals.I just might have to find a new location for future cravings for bento box! I give this restaurant one stars on there ability to solve this issue.

The food was very good and Ill be returning again.... but there was a nat problem. My girlfriend literally had to swat nats off of her food and it was weird. The customer service was pretty lousy aswell. After taking our order and delivering the food, they never came back, not even to fill drinks. There were five of us in there and two waiters. Overall good food, lousy everything else. Reccomend you take out lol.

I have only been here once. I ordered some sushi, beef teriyaki and rice. The beef was not the greatest because it was not trimmed very well. It seemed to take awhile before I was able to catch someone to get Wasabi, the pea size amount made me think they are cheap and it was confirmed when I asked for more and got another pea size amount. Overall I felt the value was not great, but the food tasted pretty good.

This is THE BEST place to get sushi! My wife and I have been coming to this place since it first opened 7 years ago. We moved out of state for 3 years and literally made it a priority to eat here every time we were in California visiting. This family owned restaurant will treat you like you are part of their family and they always go above and beyond for their customers. The food is incredible, very reasonably priced, and the service is phenomenal. And they literally have the best teriyaki chicken ever!! We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone we know that likes sushi!

I’m so annoyed right now, I pay for my food and go wait in my car for them to bring it out. They bring the food out for two white customers that were before me. I never another 10+ minutes in the car while my cars are hungry, I go in to check in my food and it is just sitting there. As a black women I take great offense that I had to go in to get my food while the white customers were brought theirs. I WILL NOT be going to to this bento box!

Got the ramen and it was the cheap 95 cent instant noodles you can get at any grocery store. Being a college student Im no stranger to dressing up instant noodles to resemble a meal but when I spend my limited budget to go out I expect more. Also paid extra for gyoza which was literally one dumping mixed into my instant noodles.
