2023-06-19 07:24:57Nice restaurant with cozy, casual seating. I always go when its off hours in the afternoon and its really peaceful. Could imagine getting some work done there. Love Ethiopian food but love that its not the same old thing I could get in every state. This place feels unique and catered towards people who like a taste of everything. Plus, its mainly all Gluten Free and Plant Based, which makes it one of the only places I enjoy in the Santa Monica area. Love the Sunday teff (gf) pancake spread with its wonderful side of tofu scramble

2023-03-05 18:48:32The reviews do not lie, an incredible Ethiopian restaurant that is also all plant based. extremely delicious from start to finish (recommend the wish plate to share and dessert as well). friendly servers and an overall great experience, highly recommend!

2023-10-01 19:41:49Wow! The food here is so delicious! I was delightfully surprised by the flavors on dishes I had tried before, but they were unbelievably better at Berbere! I can recommend the Breakfast Burrito and the Eat the Rainbow dishes because I tried both, but I think everything must be good here! The coffee was exceptional and served nice and hot! The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. I definitely want to come back again!

2023-04-03 11:21:09Was hoping for more from this vegan Ethiopian restaurant. Starter was nice with very large stuffed jalapenos which were very spicy! Main course of cauliflower was underwhelming. Service was very hit and miss (though friendly) and the loud blender made conversation comically difficult at times!

2022-05-24 02:51:58Food is very unique and different. It was good, but its not for everyone. In fact I think thats its biggest issue, it doesnt cater to the mass majority. Also portions are quite small for the price you pay. I didnt like the fact you order and pay the way you do. And the double store front is odd. Its a cute place and I think its better for lunch than dinner. Something Id try but not something Im dying to go back to. I think they also need some cool cocktails.

2021-09-30 21:05:23I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. T&T have done an absolutely phenomenal job making food come to life. You can taste the love and intention put into every single dish. I stopped here while visiting Santa Monica and it was so good, we came two days in a row. The Plant Burger, Eat the Rainbow and the Tacos were outstanding. The best vegan restaurant I’ve ever gone to and one of the top restaurants in general.

2023-10-12 19:59:13I have been going to Berbere now for over a year. Ive been vegan now for over seven years. There are so many great vegan restaurants in LA, so when I say this I am not trying to take anything away from them, but in my opinion Berbere is the best in the city. The food is just incredible. There is not a bad order on the menu. Its one of those places where you order something, its so amazing you want to order it every time. But then the waiter or one of their amazing employees suggests something else so you try it and BOOM -- you are addicted to a new dish. That being said the grilled cheese with carmalized onions and the potato lentil tacos are just unreal. Vegan or not vegan, go here. The food is amazing. The wait staff is just incredibly kind and great at their jobs. And the atmosphere somehow always feels like Christmas but you know, without the Christmas. Its hard to explain so just go and experience it for yourself.

2022-10-18 19:04:18It’s like a modern Ethiopian? Really really tasty and seems super fresh. Maybe a tad salty compared to other Ethiopian? I’m nit picking at this point. The flavors are wonderful! Not sure why they had baklava but I got it anyway😂

2022-07-05 20:41:51Very cute inside, lots of space, order at counter-style. Departure from a traditional Ethiopian restaurant experience but their versions of the Ethiopian dishes were excellent and unique in their interpretations. The bunna coffee had lemon peel and rue berries which gave it a floral taste maybe a little bit similar to chai. Totally unique and delicious. Extra points since it’s all plant-based/vegan.
