2023-10-15 21:29:05I have never liked sushi, but as I got older I decided to try it and now Im absolutely obsessed. My go to resturaunt for good sushi with good prices is big tuna. There tacos are amazing, its a must try for everyone. but last night I went and got the omakosi roll, and it was amazing. It was beautiful too, I have a picture down below. The different textures and flavors were to die for, I dont know what this exact roll is, but I hope I find out because this is my new favorite. Big tuna makes amazing dishes for amazing prices.

2023-11-10 20:24:24Loved the looks of this place, very inviting, And the food we had was good. But I just cant get over the fact that they served Bigelow Tea. I mean really ! I am sure you guys can find a better more authentic Japanese tea than Bigelow. Its my fault for not asking what kind of tea they had, oh well.

2023-05-21 11:54:21Saturday afternoon for dinner! Very busy place!Food are just okay, but consider good in Chico. Very slow services, took a while to get our order, drinks, food and cleaning our table or refilling our water glass.Great beer selection though! Many local and international beers to select!

2023-08-09 06:32:12The place was very active at around 6:40 PM, which in theory is always a good thing as far as the food circulates and busy better than empty. A very nice young Lady had mentioned this Big Tuna was a favorite place for her, and also mentioned the Butter Noodles as being extra tasty. Curiosity, of course, got us all to the location.Upon arriving we were seated rapidly in a table for four. Menus were handed, drinks offered, by an energetic bordering on pushy waiter. Hold your horses, man! New to the scene. Food ordered:Ramen $13+, which one third was not consumed, which always looks sad. Chicken skewers $5+? soaked in heavy teriyaki. Small little things, that’s why they were on the small plates section. 6 steamed dumplings $7.50?.Butter noodles $6.50 each, two. Both girls loved them, one asked for one more. In her defense that was her meal. I tried them, thick noodles with a buttery, almost invisible sauce. Fairly popular it seems, I didn’t think so.Two kinds of rolls were ordered, to the tune of $12+. I know one had salmon, rice, etc.I got Calamari fried, which basically was so bad It upset me. Little rings, tasteless with an abundance of a crunchy batter, dried way past approval. That’s when I got up with the excuse of using the restroom, but more to visualize who was cooking. For a sushi place zero Japanese. No finesse in this $8.50 miserable plate. Toasted, almost burnt accompanied with cheap ranch dressing. The second, burned again! JFC Chicken. Slightly better than the calamari offering, but not by much. Inadvertently I asked for two fried blunders. Meanwhile the waiter kept pushing to sell more baloney, or get us out to seat more fans. Disliked him completely. Bill almost $90. Was it worthy? Not in your wildest dreams! Yet place packed. 1.5 Stars.

2023-03-30 17:11:33My family loves this place they come here quite often I am not a huge sushi fan so most of the time I get something elseFamily was craving sushi so we actually went to the restaurant to get dinner. Most of the time we just call it in and go pick it up and bring it back homeId never been in before it looks like a nice place, Super Server Jason was our waiter I would give 5 stars just for Jason the only reason this review gets 4 stars is because the water that they serve with dinner tasted terrible. To the point I didnt order anything else that could possibly have that water in it to drink..😑I got the chicken teriyaki donburis, also ordered was butter noodles, edamame (sooo yummy), tepura shrimp with Veggie and shasmi platter (not pictured)

2023-11-27 03:06:58The sushi ingredients were fresh and the service was good. I tried the Japanese taco with spicy tuna and the taco was crunchy, fresh and delicious. I also ordered the chico roll which was good but had a little too much sauce on it and the Mexican Roll which had a good amount of Sriracha and was definitely my favorite of the 2. I would definitely go back.

2021-10-02 14:37:20Weve dined at this location several times and I have to say not only is their sushi remarkable, but their service is good too. The prices are fair, not too expensive at all and the atmosphere inside is surprising. It wasnt what I expected from the storefront and the name. Definitely one of our favorite places to dine at in Chico.
