Food was great. My boyfriend and I got a baked salmon roll, Bo Ha roll, a yellow fin roll and some miso soup. Everything was tasty and fresh. We ended our meal with some yummy sake. Overall great experience.

We visited today around 3 pm so it was not busy because its between lunch and dinner. I got the Sushi+Tuna Roll, my son got the dinner special A+B+C. We also shared 1 green dragon Eel roll and Tempura order.Everything was great and server was very friendly.I think it is one of the best in the AV.Only reason I gave it 4 stars not 5, is Im too picky about my sushi. I had some much better sushi in LA and other places.But again, it is very good for the AV.Order total was $66 including stinks before tax. So not bad at all price wise.

Love coming here once a month with my wife. The salmon special is the best piece of sushi. We order 20 pieces of the salmon special, loaded baked muscles and the lemon zinger roll. To drink we have the delicious Lemon cucumber soju cocktail. I highly recommend it. With all we order we finish quickly due to the food being so delicious. Try the salmon special, you will not be disappointed.

The food was excellent, plated well, although a little lacking on the rolls. Sadly they fell apart easily.As for the service, sure they were attentive, but they had an eye roll each time. Ominous side eye every time they passed by. Upon leaving a herd of them gathered at our empty table giving thumbs down to all servers around to see because we hadnt left a cash tip. We decided not to leave a tip in the end after the mocking they did if us and our family. Used to come here monthly, service will be taken elsewhere since they cant seem to be friendly. Miss how this place used to be.

Big Tuna is definitely a good choice for budget sushi. We did take out a lot and this is our first time dining in. I wont call it authentic but the food in general is tasty.The fish is fresh. Salmon and yellow tail are usually fresher than tuna here so keep that in mind if you are a big sashimi/nigiri lover. Still pretty satisfied with the quality considering the price. If you like raw tuna with some extra flavor, try Tajin tuna.Rolls are all well seasoned. Definitely tried dishes/rolls with eel if you like Teriyaki flavor stuff.Some negatives to be aware of:Udon might be too sweet for some people (I love my food a little bit sweet.)$3 Miso is definitely overpriced lolHot sake is bad.Its sushi for Americans, dont expect it to be authentic.Overall, its a solid choice if you dont have a big budget for sushi like Shogun Sushi.

I had more hope for this place since I read the reviews before coming in and they seemed great. Service started off great we got sat right away, unfortunately that changed quickly. Our entrees came out 30 minutes before our appetizers did,( one of our appetizers did not arrive till after we decided to leave) and one of our entrees was wrong which also never made it to our table. The waitress that was supposed to attend us did not acknowledge us at all and walked right past our table. After finally getting her attention she asked us if everything was okay, we then explained to her that we were upset and felt that she was not giving us the service we would like. She then yelled at us and argued that it was not her fault and she was on break therefore its not her problem . We tried to explain to her that we were not just upset about the wrong entree but also upset about waiting 45 minutes for food and not being attended for even drinks, however she got louder and refused to hear our concerns. We felt beyond disrespected and had to leave. I do not recommend this place unless you want to get yelled at and disrespected by the staff. Extremely unprofessional, lack of communications skills and definitely wont be coming back.

Food was good and employees were good, but do NOT come here during the summer! the air conditioning is not turned on and it is SCORCHING!! the only type of air they had was a big box fan on the counter, it felt a solid 10 degrees hotter inside of the restaurant than it did outside, my husband was sweating the whole meal. Avoid this place in the summer and you’ll be fine, either go to BJs next door or any other sushi place that actually has working air conditioning.

Review for July 21st 2019. Big Tuna Japanese restaurant is located in West Palmdale California. They serve a very good sushi and Japanese Cuisine here. I really did enjoy my lunch here at Big Tuna with my son. I especially enjoy the nigiri sushi. Perfect spot for recharging after a long hike or a mountain bike ride. I do enjoy the outdoors dining area which can be good for meditation as well. Thank you for the great experience and I definitely anticipate him coming back. Im not guilty, to say that I absolutely love sushi.

It was extremely good I love it that is the maine roll has crab and lobster the other 2 rolls one is a Chruch roll the other is a albacore delight roll custom with yellow tail tuna inside the hand roll is a custom G6 roll tempura salmon and cream cheese inside baked salmon on top with thin slices of jalapenos its is super tasty I hope you guys try it out the chef who made the rolls is Dave in palmdale big tuna

Make sure you call before driving out there. They don’t respect the business hours they have online and on their door. We drove 30 minutes to get there. Arrived at 9:45pm, 45 minutes before the supposed closing time on a Friday and one of the waitresses turned us away saying they were closed.

Its a lovely looking restaurant but they dont turn on the air we all were so sweaty when we went. My son said he saw a thermostat that said it was like 84 in there. How is that good for a sushi restaurant????

A little different than I expected. They dont have the normal paper sheet that you check of the sushi you want. It also doesnt say how many rolls you are getting.But everything was delicious. They were really helpful cutting and serving a birthday cake we brought in. I think there was about 20 of us. They didnt add the normal charge for a large group. Will definitely go again.

Bigtuna is the place to go if you want fresh, authentic Japanese fare and simply excellent service. Everything we ordered was delicious and reached our table much quicker than expected. The calamari tempura was fishy and crisp, and the strawberry ice cream was very light with floral notes. I also loved the sushi, especially the eel rolls and the chicken teriyaki roll. The staff were highly attentive, thoroughly answering all our questions, and even taught us a few things about sushi!

The service is absolutely wonderful, and they constantly checked up on us, which I really appreciate since we were a table of 7. The fish was fresh and beautifully prepared. And they had my quail shooters as a double. 10/10 will be back

Says they close at 10 pm on a Saturday but they definitely close at 9:30 . I got to the restaurant at 9:40 just for them to tell me they stop serving food at 9:30. If you want a late night bite don’t go here after 9 they won’t serve you.

Grand Opening!What a disappointment. Heard complaints from departing customers while we waited outside. Premium pricing for small all-you-can-eat portions. No specials or promotions. The server was overwhelmed and claimed no one knew where anything had been stocked.Much better sushi anywhere!

The Food was nothing special. The Tempera was very light but the vegetable Tempera were almost raw..they charge for extra sauce but give you so little you will likely need to order more. I hadnt eaten there in a few years, as I go to Gold Fish or Red Salmon, so this was close to the Theatre. Next time Ill stick to my tried and true instead of Bigtuna

We absolutely love coming here. The only issue we ever have is trying to order to-go. Havent you ever heard of call waiting? Its amazing that you, being as busy as you are, cant manage to afford more lines so that someone can call in to order food. It is so disappointing that we have to order from Goldfish up the street just because they answer their phone and you do not. It is a constant busy signal EVERY TIME, almost ANY DAY of the week. Please fix this! I would honestly give you a 5 star otherwise.

Weve always enjoyed Big Tuna. We do miss, the all you can eat, but were happy to get good sushi. Our waitress was great, very attentive. Not enough sushi chefs or kitchen chefs, so we did wait an extremely long time for our food. Even with the wait, we would go again, because the food is good and the servers are pleasant.

Their lunch deals is one of the best Ive seen. With great food for the price. The interior is beautiful which pairs well with the chef making sushi in the middle of the whole restaurant. Workers are extremely kind and even helped me with my family to order something that doesnt have shellfish. Would recommend anyone in the AV area to try it out

This place is def not the same. All the rolls completely fall apart the second you try and pic them up with chop sticks, and baked salmon and Maine roll were not even baked as they usually are. Had baked mussels also and it tasted like they spread mayo on top of them and served them . So much for the baked part. Sad to see this place going down . Last time for me here

The wait staff is so patient and the rolls came out rather swiftly. The food here is consistently delicious. Its location lends well to a fun all day outing at the mall punctuated by a meal here. At times the wait to be seated can be lengthy but with the quality of the restaurant the rare, and short, waits can be forgiven. By far a notable sushi restaurant.

Its still really tasty sushi. The only things that have changed since their move in the Palmdale location is that there portions have decreased. Put the quality of sushi is still good. Be prepared to be there awhile if you get the all you can eat at the sushi bar because they are not quick. The servers are friendly though.

This was our first visit at their new location near the Antelope Valley Mall. The new restaurant has a sushi bar that is at least twice the size of the previous location. There is also ample table seating. The word already seems to be out as the bar was full when we arrived at 4PM Saturday afternoon. We waited for about 30 mins to get a place at the bar. The staff sends to be struggling with the larger size as we had to ask someone to take our drink order and then remind them that we had ordered drinks. Initially we had to tell the chef what our order was - he never asked - but as the evening wore on service got much better. Over all the fish and food was good. We will be back.

Where do I start... sigh. It was a somewhat busy Sunday evening happy hour rush and the bar was empty, so we said why not?Word to the wise, dont be tempted like we were. The service was good, initially. I hadnt noticed that I didnt have utensils so when they brought my sushi roll I had nothing to eat with but my hands. See pic attached lol.When I asked the owner, who happened to be walking by at the time, she seemed annoyed. She brought me some chopsticks bot no bowl to put soy sauce in. She didnt bring me soy sauce or Ginger and wasabi, and when I asked again we got the same annoyed attitude.Turns out the bartenders were also the waitresses and trying to keep up with the entire restaurant at the same time.The bathroom was disgusting. See pics, nothing more to say.We had cheap drinks. Thats why they got two stars.

Minimum wage unskilled and inexperienced Fast food workers gives far better service!There is no server here, we were sat by the cashier and was able to order the first drink without too much drama, after that, there was no such thing of service that existed here. The sushi cook made good all you can eat sushi without speaking a single word the entire 2 hours we were there, so it sounds like he hates his job. To get a second drink after waiting almost an hour I had to put my first drink glass down sideways on the edge of the table like it was going to roll off to get their attention, but a busser ( since servers here don’t exist here )walked by and put it upright and walked off when I was trying to god forbid order a second drink by getting their attention. It wasn’t till we were leaving that they offered to give us water refills, but by then it’s too late.The people before us who sat next to us left a 2 dollar tip, and considering my 20 years of restaurant experience I thought they were cheep a-h0!e$, but after our experience I thought I’m going to leave a 2$ tip as well, since they clearly don’t want the 20$ tip I was ready to give for any good service. Adding insult to injury, their credit card receipts post tip % on them, so on an 80$ check I left 2$, the lowest % I’ve left almost anywhere in the world and I’m proud to say it!

Please stop wasting delivery drivers time.This is a very easy fix, and when you fix it I will give you 5 stars.In the DoorDash app, in the settings, it lets you set a DELAY to request a driver. Unless your sushi is made instantly, dont request a driver right away, because there are tons of drivers in the mall area and a driver will be there in 2 min. Ive waited a half hour three times already for a DoorDash order. This is completely unacceptable and unnecessary. We do not get paid for time. When you make us wait a half hour for a delivery we lose money because we couldve done a delivery at another restaurant that has their food ready.Its such a simple fix, and maybe youre unaware youre even doing it, but please, if your sushi takes 20 min to make, delay requesting a driver by 20 min.When I go back and dont have to wait a half hour again for my DoorDash order, Ill rate 5 stars.

This place was a complete joke and I will never be going back. Our service was extremely slow, the food was bad, and it was expensive.Bug Tuna was not that busy, once me and my 2 other friends ordered it took a long time for the food to arrive and it arrived all spread out. I ordered a dynamite roll and yellowtail sashimi, my sashimi arrived first and I was very dissatisfied with the serving size, a few paper thin slices for 12.50. Then my roll arrived, none of my friends food had come out yet, my roll which was supposed to be baked was barely room temperature at the arrival at the table. I ate my roll very slowly so that hopefully my friend meals would arrive soon, but it took over 20 minutes for any more food to be brought to the table. My friends ordered ramen and udon soup, both soups were way over salted, to the point that thats all you could taste that they couldnt even eat. They refuned us for the soups at the very least but not without giving us dirty looks through the window as we were leaving.Save your money and go to a good sushi place, like Harbor sushi. Big Tuna is overpriced, with gross food and bad service, avoid at all costs.

I frequent all the AYCE sushi bars in the AV, and this is probably my least favorite spot. Theyre fast and reasonably friendly, but the quality of the fish typically isnt on par with what you find at Harbour, Miso, or even BTs Lancaster location. Dont get me wrong - their food isnt bad, but you can find higher quality fish at the same price point elsewhere.

Terrible sushi. Ordered spider roll but there was very little soft shell crab. Ordered another roll with fresh water eel but the sauce was way too sweet and thin(like candy water) and the lack of eel was criminal. No one greeted me when i entered and i wandered the place for a good 10 minutes (only 2 parties of 2 at the bar the rest of the place was empty) before anyone asked if i needed help. Bar seating is for all you can eat only. Easy parking for sure. I asked for ginger and wasabe with both rolls but was only given with one. The tiniest pea sized bit of wasabe and 4 pieces of ginger. It was like they were gold or something. Very disappointed. Definately will not go bsck unless i am meeting someone, and even then I will suggest another place where the sushi is more full of the fish/crab/eel and ginger and wasabe are not such a precious comodity.

Heard complaints from costumers leaving the restuarant about service, still proceeded in hopes they were picky. Disappointed that their complaints were valid. Servers where overwhelmed, didnt know about items on the menu, didnt know where orders were, and forgot requests. Food was disappointing for the price. Premium prices for what you would expect at a buffet. 1 star for pretty plates.

Where to begin.This location is beautiful and clean. Sadly the FOH staff are not. We visited this location during lunch on a Wednesday. There was four other tables not including the sushi bar. My husband order the bento box- Chicken Teriyaki and California Roll lunch combo I ordered the pork and vegetable pot stickers (gyoza) and the Good Choice Handroll modified to add cream cheese. Our total was $33.46 with two sodas included.Our waitress and all the FOH staff seem to be in their late teens/early twenties. Sadly they lack the necessary skills to serve food and provide a memorable dining experience. Few words and no personality. The young male busser seemed to be the only one who understood how to navigate the service industry. Sadly he won’t get the leadership or cultivation he needs to further his career if he chooses this industry. As for our server, she not only had poor recommendations that she rambled off while reading the menu, she completely disregarded my request for my cream cheese addition. On top of which she didn’t offer to recreate the dish, she just brought me a slice, which was the size of stick of gum, to slap on top of my cone shaped sushi (roll). The soy paper wrap to my roll was too hard to cut with a fork or knife and impossible to eat as the ingredients weren’t evenly placed through the dish. The restaurant menus and the Togo menus differ in ingredients for the specific roll ( Good Choice Handroll). So I couldn’t even verify if this was what i ordered. My husbands chicken the Chicken Teriyaki bento was the only thing worth talking about. The rest was comparable to supermarket sushi and gas station food.If the MGMT team and owner got together and trained their staff and retrained the sushi staff they might have a fighting chance to get back on the game. Its an ayce sushi place, so theres not a whole lot to add that others havent already said. Biggest con after a few visits, every time Ive gone Ive had orders forgotten. Not the biggest deal as you just order again and theyre pretty quick to serve. Biggest pro, when eating at the bar you can order half rolls so you can have a lot more variety before youre so full you hate yourself, start questioning your life decisions on the drive home and end up crying yourself to sleep.

All you can eat is the ONLY way to go!!Been to plenty sushi spots in So-Cal, and a few abroad... but since discovering Bigtuna JAPANESE Restaurant, and Chef Mike, well ALL the chefs REALLY, ARE OUTSTANDING CHEFS!!! New location at the mall, same excellent food youd expect from Big Tuna. By far the best sushi you can get in the Antelope Valley (try the Maine Roll, you wont regret it). Happy Hour sake and beer, good service. The best deal in town is the all-you-can-eat sushi bar!The big new place at the Palmdale Mall has a more Vegas feel as opposed to the darkly lit recluse Lancaster location. The food is the same at both places, excellent fish quality.My recommendations are the Maine Roll, the Unagi (eel) sushi, the white tuna sushi and the always fun Good Choice cone. The green tea icecream is refreshing at the end.Great place, its not often I give two thumbs up for an Antelope Valley location, but you guys got four thumbs up. My toes are tingling still. Great job!

Very rude Asian lady, I try to be gracious as I’m a business owner my self, and been a client from this restaurant for years and love it specially the Lancaster location, but hopefully this review helps them, food is awesome but more importantly the customer service, and when a waitress tries to make fun of you is very disrespectful, the got the order wrong and they tried to pin it on you by saying you pronounce it wrong, what a shame!!
