Though I havent explored much in Santa Rosa, this place certainly adds a burst of great flavors to the scene. The creative blends of food here are impressive, and Im eager to try more of their innovative offerings. The duck taco, in particular, was perfection—my partner and I enjoyed it immensely.While some places might start feeling similar after trying a lot, this one stands out. It brings surprises both in taste and the way they craft their menu. Everything we tried was good, and its evident that theres something special about the unique flavors and creative approach. If you find yourself in the area, definitely make time to give it a try!

Bird & The Bottle is a delightful restaurant to visit if youre in the Santa Rosa area. The restaurant has a great vibe to it, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is boldly flavored. Because everything is served tapas style, we were able to try a good variety of items. The portions were generous enough for our family to share and everything was very nicely plated. Its a good restaurant that our family would visit again when were in the area.

Stopped in for a snack on the way back home, and I discovered my new favorite way to cut fries! The everything fries, tossed with everything bagel seasoning, were quite tasty and fun.The chicken skin lettuce wraps are a good idea, but felt greasy after a few bites. More sauce to compete with all the fried coating and grease would be good.Loved the zero-proof Golden Child cocktail, with smoked beets, cinnamon rose water, lemon, grapefruit, and tumeric-spiced coconut cream. Such a smooth, vibrant drink, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Excellent staff all around! Quickly accommodated our group of 5 at happy hour.The drinks are delicious!The food, OMG, delectable! I ordered extra burgers after tasting my daughters. Surprisingly good tacos at Santa Rosa. Beef cheek and duck tacos are highly recommended! The octopus also very tasty, has happy hour available afternoon with specials. Worth to give it a try if you’re travel around or just enjoy a relaxing afternoon or weekends with your friends !

Oyster is very fresh and tasty! 5 out of 5.BBQ octopus - It’s not bad at all but wouldn’t order again, source is good, octopus is tender and easy to chewy. However, the sauce of the dish overwhelmed the original flavor of the food, failing to highlight the natural freshness of the squid itself. 3 out of 5.The small biscuit is extremely impressive. The flavor of lemongrass or some other plant spice is perfectly combined, balancing the rich buttery taste of the biscuit without overpowering its strong milky fragrance. The two flavors complement each other harmoniously. 5 out of 5!The whitefish spread is just okay, too salty.

During our visit to Santa Rosa, I was looking for a pet friendly place that would satisfy our appetite. This place had a pretty good review so we decided to give it a try. We sat in the patio because we had our dog with us. The first thing I noticed was a laminated sheet with lots of instructions for what your fur baby should or should not do. The waitress was friendly but took a bit of time to come out and also to check us out. The food was mediocre at best. I cant say that I was impressed.

I visited here for the first time for happy hour with a friend. Ambiance is nice out on the patio. The vodka cocktail I had tasted very good. Unfortunately, the food was not particularly impressive. We had the chicken skins, Barbacoa tacos, and beet salad. The best were the tacos but not really worth the trip. Service was very slow. I wouldn’t go back again.

This restaurant is inside a beautiful building near Downtown Santa Rosa, featuring beautifully presented dishes, all with a unique and delectable twist. The quaint and comfortable atmosphere coupled with the delicious food and drink fit perfectly with the friendly and knowledgeable service. I recommend the Everything Fries paired with the Pastrami Tacos or the Watermelon and Heirloom Tomato Salad paired with the burger sliders. Regardless of what you order, your pallet and wallet will be pleased. Excellent experience at a reasonable price. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this restaurant!

We had the best time at Bird & The Bottle! Everything we ordered was super delicious. We highly recommend the pimento cheese pull apart bread, the skirt steak, and the carrot cake. You can tell the chef knows what he/she is doing. Every dish was so intentional with its flavor; we wanted to keep ordering more food just to taste the variety of flavors the chef cooked with. If you are in town or live in this area, go support this local business. You will not be disappointed! We could not recommend it enough!

First time there, heard they own several in sonoma, dishes are small tapas style with a few exceptions, mainly what makes food taste good abd dufferent is the way spices, herbs and sauces are ysed fir food we are familiar with but they deconstruct and presented nicely on plate, atmosphere chairs were comfortable where we sat, table next to us talked loudly, some people like to talk loud so that was the minus for me. Was busy, well for a town in santa rosa a restaurant like this will do well from what I heard, food is very specific, prjcesvon high end fir portions you get, has outdoor seating, bar and upstairs, dessert Carrot cake was not good, too sweet a n d condensed into that jar served in, desserts are over priced not a good selection, well at least I had to inquire about birthday treat which was on the house just some vanilla ice cream..fries were good and seasoned, just a bit over salted, for 3 of us with tip was 200 plus. I did not get full because the portions were small..has to let my sons eat more. Parking not bad ..on street and I think small lot in back, not sure, service was good, worked restaurant and food industry ..overall nice place to partake of different places to try

The portion to price ratio was great. Service was good and atmosphere was very nice. I enjoy shareable plates style restaurants and felt the price was reasonable. I was a bit disappointed with the overall food selection was lacking. Flavor was good but I felt like everything was carb overload. I would go here again and try a few different plates.

If i could rate higher than a 5 stars i would. This is small dishes for sharing - take a group. We were 5 for dinner, sitting on outside patio (with a dog). About 2 dishes a person, we got more (18 total...) We got everything on the vegetarian menu, plus a whole fish, pork belly, lamb meat balls, dessert. Live all. Vegetarian food was great! We even debated if some of the green salads would be too similar but got them anyways, and totally different. Fusions and different flavors in different dishes. Amazing!!!

One of my favorite local restaurants. The food is always on point and the service is great, the atmosphere is fantastic. The pastrami tacos are probably my favorite, unique and crazy delicious you should definitely try those.Awesome drinks and an extensive wine menu (and port!)The desserts are fantastic as well, the carrot cake in a jar is so good!!They also have great outdoor roof patios for larger gatherings perfect for work get togethers or large families.Parking in the back and plenty of street parking is great.Ive never been disappointed. We randomly picked to eat here on our way from San Fran to Arcata. And man I am glad we stopped! The food was excellent! The burgers were small, but perfectly proportioned.. and super juicy and flavorful! The french fries are like a fry/chip hybrid and they are yummy!! We were out on a shopping day in Santa Rosa down from Ukiah. A place with outdoor seating would be perfect. The Bird & The Bottle bubbled to the top. When we arrived we werent disappointed. Inside and outside, the restaurant is very comfortable. The menu is designed around small portions with lots of choices. What fun! Even better, the quality was top tier. Prices were fair, but a little on the high side. And, worth it. Service was just right. We loved our experience.

Went here for the first time tonight. The experience was excellent. Sat at the bar. Had the smoked chicken wings, edamame and a martini. Everything was literally perfect. The chicken wings are other worldly. The edamame is a very generous portion and exceptionally seasoned and served piping hot. The martini was perfectly mixed and chilled. I stopped in for lunch on day 16 of 16 of a motorcycle trip from Chicago to San Francisco. It was my last day, so I was in celebration mode. I ordered oysters. Its a little hipster-y in my opinion. What I mean by that is good tasting/looking food that is a bit overpriced for the portion size. Same with the drinks at the bar. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Santa Rosa. The salmon skin dish was our favorite. It was simple but really tasty. The fried chicken sliders were delicious also. The Cobb salad came with some tasty chicken and pork. The prawns were also good but probably our least favorite. Probably a bigger hot for people who like to eat the heads. Also I didnt notice there was a sauce until after I ate them 🤦‍♂️. The carrot cake in a jar was also very good. The French press coffee was too bitter for me. A couple other huge plusses is that its dog friendly and the food comes quickly.

Oh wow! We found some time to swing by Santa Rosa, so dropped by for lunch. We were not disappointed...food here is amazing. Combination of ingredients just complement each other. We had the grilled artichoke la placed ~ simply grilled with a touch of salt, grain mustard and grilled lemon with aioli; BBQ octopus - slightly spicy has a creamy sesame sauce, black eyed peas and cabbage. The food here was great, but I cant say that its excellent for the price it commands. If your palate leans on the blander side (like mine), this places food might actually be too salty, since there are no blander dishes to balance out the saltiness. The smoked black cod itself was tasty (and great thanks to the waiter who told us it was a dip), but the saltine crackers were way too salty. The cauliflower could be more charred - it tastes half-steamed; the pimento cheese sauce was good though. The chicken cracklings had potential (the Vietnamese flavors were great), but because soggy too quickly since theyre piled up in a bowl. Excellent service, good place if youre in Santa Rosa.

Great restaurant! The bay shrimp wanton starter was delicious - crisp but not oily with a scrumptious filling, the best I ever had. My wife and I ordered several small plates and each was to die for. I visited here thanksgiving weekend with my boyfriend. We both love creative food, especially cocktails, and this place was OFF THE CHARTS. Generally speaking, anything with that Korean chili butter was heaven! All meats were perfectly cooked and juicy. Flavours were deliciously blended and not overwhelming. I can’t recall the 5 cocktails we tried between us both, but know I loved near every one.

Nice place, good service, but the food descriptions on the menue, where not accurate. We had the chicken mousse, it said it would have maple chicken crackling on top, yes, but the cracklings, where not cracking, they where rubbery & soggy, far from crackling. We also shared the polenta with crispy pork belly, same story, not crispy!!! Either they make the stuff way ahead of time or they drowned the crispy/ cracklings in sauce, not sure. The polenta was tasteless & way to much for the amount of pork belly. See pictures!

Everything we ordered was delish! The crispy chicken skin cracklings has a sweet and tangy Thai-like flavor, very crispy and crunchy. Everything greens had lots of umami and butter, mmm. Little gem salad was refreshing and the candied walnuts were a nice touch. The pastrami tacos were good too, with a pickled cabbage. Also got the Rogers something something non-alcoholic lemon thyme ginger beer which was really refreshing. We sat outside on a lovely 75° day. Will definitely return. So, to get the most out of your experience, I would suggest going with 4-6 people so you can fully explore the menu, because who wants to make a choice on a single dish anymore?Definitely get the Everything Green. We ended up ordering an extra plate of this for our group because it was so good. The salmon wings were disappointing though as they were a bit too gelatinous for our taste.Overall, Id definitely spend the 1.5 hour drive from Oakland to eat here again.

Not a great experience. Food was okay. However, we were not informed ahead of time that pre bought out dinner rooms can only have a prefixed menu. You can’t order anything off the regular menu separately. We were literally asking to spend MORE money and were told no, lol. Also, the waiter ran the card on file at the end (was just supposed the one for a hold) without asking which card we wanted to use. We needed to pay the tab with a different card, and this made for an extremely awkward end of the evening. No apology was given. Probably would not go back.

Chicken sliders were good but we were so stuffed by the time we had them that I didn’t have a chance to judge them fairly. In fact many dishes we received were not at all what we expected so I would recommend asking for clarification from the waiter just to make sure its really what you want.The food was very good! I especially liked the pastrami tacos (all the tacos were great), the pimiento cheese bread, the corn, and the desserts (chocolate cake and sundae were my tops but as a table we couldnt decide). Bird and Bottle is one of the Stark Family restaurants scattered across Sonoma County and Santa Rosa. I believe they currently have 7 of which, weve been to 5. We have been twice here, once for a special occasion and once with friends who were visiting from Carlsbad. Both times our waiter was Anthony and the experience was sublime (you know how it is when the timing is exceptional). The place feels like a perfectly balanced cross between upscale eatery and family run grill. The go to for us here is their small plates. Oysters are perfect and locally sourced. Everything Greens could turn you into a vegetarian, they are that good. The Cherrywood smoked beets are just flat out addictive! When I think about Crispy Duck Cofit Tacos, the first thing that pops into my mind is, I think I need a second order of those. The key word in that phrase is need. I would be remiss if I didnt tell you about the 1/2 Rack of Oak Smoked Baby Back Ribs. Number one, I wish I knew where they sourced meat like this, thick and meaty with a bit of fat but not overwhelming amounts! Secondly, whoever does the smoking on these needs to know that the next time I come in, Im buying them a drink. These are the best ribs I have ever had and trust me, Ive covered a lot of ground. Let me just say, the desert menu is hard to decide which ones you will leave out. If its a big group, just order one of each and share. Our faves, Bourbon Butter Pecan Sundae and Whiskey Balls. This place was very unique, we came on a Sunday for a late lunch. The service was slow but I get thats whats going on around the world. The atmosphere and space was well thought through, and while I was excited to see their unique menu, I wasnt impressed when things actually did come. We ordered the fries with the dip, the smoky tuna poke, chicken skin lettuce cups, and the little gem salad. The dressing on the little gem salad was a cheddar dressing, and completely over powered all other flavors possible; like super cheesy romaine lettuce? Hmm, thats not for me. The smoky tuna poke with the taro chips was very good, and unfortunately that was the best (and only) dish that we actually finished. The fries were fine, but perhaps the chicken skin cups were just so much fried food (okay, I get it, its in the name, its crunchy chicken skin) that we just stopped eating. Im willing to try this place again, as I mentioned they have a very unique menu and some items Id still like to try (BBQ octopus, bone marrow, fried oysters lettuce cups, etc.), but Ill know not to get my hopes up I guess.

This place is tapas style, so they feature a variety of smaller dishes designed to share. It lends itself well to trying a variety of foods. I had the octopus which was mediocre but the chicken sliders were really good like always. The Cobb salad was pretty good. I gave it a three stars because I think they raised the prices. We were seated on the second floor in a medium sized room with four tables and could not have had a better time.Our party of four enjoyed great cocktails and mocktails and shared about three quarters of their small plates and appetizer menu. Everything was phenomenal, but some stand outs were the shrimp wonton and local corn appetizers.On the recommendation of our server, Gabriel, we ended the meal by splitting the pork belly from their large plates selections. Its the best pork belly and the best polenta Ive ever had and that is easily one of my favorite meals.The whole staff was top notch and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. HIGHLY recommend. Outdoor seating was nice. Great for tapas family style eating. Favorites were the Chicken Pate, Octopus, Fresh oysters and Pastrami Tacos! The Dirty Dilbert cocktail was also super yummy. Not as big of a fan of the Shrub. Service was okay- but the food made up for it.

This place is a great little date night place. Small plates to share so get a few. Wine list is somewhere limited but the cocktails are fantastic, food and staff is great. Ive been here probably 10 times and have yet to have a bad meal or experience. Very sonoma county, its a starks joint so you know its good! I will always recommend this place to anyone who listens

The food is great. Like many restaurants and businesses post covid, they seem to be struggling with staff. The difficulty they face is they set up as a two-story house with outside spaces as well. Make sure you get a seat where you can see the hostess stand, so if you need a managers help, you dont have the leave the table and trek across the house. We felt rather abandoned upstairs with an inexperienced waiter, loud neighbors, and no one to ask for help. Suggestion

It is a great place with innovative foods and a lively atmosphere. I had a smoked beet salad with greens and yogurt like dressing. My husband had a unique fish called Branzino which was fried whole. The entrees and main dishes were delicious.

First time here, and the food and drinks were great. A lot of the food is very unique, and presented nicely. We were here for brunch, so they had brunch entrees for one person, and shareable plates. We mixed it up and the entrees and shareable plates were all delicious.It was nice to see all the employees smiling, along with the great service we received. Wed happily come here again.

Lovely setting for tapas. We had, in order of favorites, the beet salad (yes!), pork belly and grits, oysters on the half shell, mini-burgers, all of it very good. They have a gluten-free and a dairy-free menu theyll bring out on request. Small but good selection of on-tap beers, and several non-alcoholic fun drinks.

A good spot all around for food and drinks. You cant go wrong with the menu, except for the Mac & Cheese which was rather bland for my taste.They use local quality ingredients and the menu is crafted to near prefection.The service can get slow in peak times but place is nice for a hang inside or out on the patio, so youd be happy if you are in no rush.

The good food can’t make up for the horrible service here. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by the hostess who seems like she wants to be anywhere but there and her service says as much. Condescending, rude, and just apathetic service all around. Service generally was slow and short. We were basically asked what we wanted, given to us, and the paid.Plenty of great places to patronize in the Sonoma area to deal with this garbage.

Enjoyed a birthday celebration at Bird and the Bottle. The food is so unusual and delicious. We had the smokey poke, octopus, oysters, matzoh ball soup, hanger steak, pastrami tacos, a variety of cocktails, and topped it off with an ice cream sundae. It was all delicious, creatively presented, prepared perfectly. Cant wait to return and try the other menu items.

The food was a little disappointing they soak everything in way to much sauce. The reason I am giving a low review is the experience was horrible. The kitchen when up in flames when grease in a pan lit on fire and in an attempt to deal with it one of the staff tried to get the pan in the oven and ended up dropping it on the ground lighting the kitchen floor on fire. They eventually put the fire out but the dining room was full of smoke so we asked to relocate to an outside table in the shade since I have an autoimmune issue and can’t be in the sun for very long without breaking out into hives. While we were outside an employee decided to take our umbrella away from the table and argued with me until I insisted he leave it since I really needed to be out of the sun. After all that happened there was a paint chip floating in my wife’s ginger ale and all the staff members seamed stressed and were very unfriendly although we kept being extremely nice to them hoping not to completely ruin our lunch. We spent over a hundred dollars for this experience and would never dream of coming back.

I REALLY wanted to like this place, but felt it overpriced and underexplained!The BAD:Sneaky corkage charge for a single glass of wine?NO detailed information on the menu?NOT suitable for ANYONE with Autism, as there are NO explanations provided in written form on how this restaurant works other than verbal!And no pictures or detailed description of ANY of the menu items,.. you dont know if you are getting 1 oz or 100 oz of food!Not bad enough for me to file an ADA claim, but I was baffled the entire visit.Turns out, food comes out randomly! whenever the kitchen is done, it comes. Waited a LONG time for half the food. Others who came AFTER us and ordered AFTER us got THEIR same dish as what WE ordered BEFORE us. So either they are idiots, they stole our food and gave it to others, or a time warp occurred due to a passing singularity.The prices are pretty crazy high also.The confusing:They claim it is small plates so we ordered a bunch, but then when it comes, we have extra food.The food was mixed:The 3x fried potatoes were good, as were the chicken wings (about 5?), and spatzel bread.The steak had a good bit of gristle and fat, the Pork ribs were cut in a way that gives little bone shards in some bites, so you have to be careful to NOT SWALLOW a bone. Meat, when not filled with bone shards, was tasty!I would pass on the chicken skin crackle, as it was not crisp enough to eat! was super chewy, not cooked hot enough long enough, or by the time WE got it, was rubber.Service was nice and friendly, but never knew for sure who OUR waiter was, random folks just dropped off food, and other random folks stopped by to ask if we needed anything. The outdoor area is pretty loud, right on 4th.IF this place were NOT on a busy street, had real explanations on charges, how much food, how the food was made, etc, on menu, maybe worth the $$$, but seemed a reach for what we got. Do not see returning, there are better options.

We were searching for a restaurant open Sunday evening later than 8:00, and stumbled onto Bird + The Bottle. What a great stumble! Super food in small portions that we shared (shrimp wontons, grilled artichoke, Cobb salad and pletzle bread — all delicious and done with skill), wonderful wait staff, and a trendy but comfortable atmosphere. We sat at the kitchen bar because we had no reservation, and it was just fine. We succumbed to the Whiskey Balls to take back to the hotel for a late night snack, and they were amazing as well. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

This place is Awesome!! Really creative drinks and friendly bartenders. Try the ‘dirty dilbert’. Flank steak entree was also very innovative with a deconstructed chimichurri flavor. Bring friends and try several things. They’re all good.

Excellent. This place will really appeal to foodies. Every dish was a spin on a traditional one, but with some really innovative flavor combinations added as a spin. We shared a Cobb, then followed with pastrami tacos and a Korean style half chicken. Each was unexpected, unusual, and delicious.Try this place.

The hostess was very passive aggressive towards our service dog - handing us a sign that had rules for dogs!Expectations were high upon entry with the 4.6 star rating really filling us with confidence.However the food was well below par. Ranked from worst to best as follows:1. Prawn Wontons - worst entree I’ve ever eaten. 0/102. Pretzel Bread - biggest compliment was that it was better than the prawn wontons. 2/103. Wings - severely lacking any flavour. Straight chicken wing. 3/104. Mac & Cheese - classic out of the box from safeways, mac and cheese. 5/105. Chicken sliders - best of the lot. 6/10Overall a very disappointing experience that stands out as the worst food experience I’ve ever come across. Thanks bird & the bottle. Won’t be back.

We called for a reservation but nobody answered the phone; we decided to show up and see if we could get a table since it was after the dinner rush. There were several open tables inside and out, but the hostesses said they only had space at the bar. We took it.There was an over-served group of women who were obnoxiously loud and most of the other guests seemed as annoyed at their outbursts as we were. If they were just starting their meal, we would have left, but because they were close to finishing, we decided to place our order.We started with tasty bay shrimp wontons in a hot-sweet Chinese mustard sauce. There were 5 so we had to thumb wrestle for the last one. Then we enjoyed smoky ahi tuna poke with thin-sliced radishes and green onions, cracked almonds and a soy glaze on taro chips. This was delicious and our favorite plate. We finished with grilled lamb meatballs with arugula and a pistachio & pea sprout pesto over black-eyed pea hummus. Why do you only serve 5? Our food was washed down with a healthy pour of La Crema Brut Rose Russian River sparkling, a pint of Moonlight Brewing Death & Taxes San Francisco-style black lager, and a glass of Cruess Vineyards June Mountain GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre) red blend.At the end of our meal, most of the open tables were still free. We enjoyed our food and would have stayed longer to order more but the person next to us kept bumping elbows and spread out to crowd us. The bartender deserves a shout out - he worked his tail off, but the hostesses were asleep at the helm. Wont be my first choice next time.

Great food! I love southern comfort food - I think they do a really good job with the style of food. The ambiance is nice and the bathroom is real cute. I have been many times and the service has been spotty.The food is always consistently good.There is parking in the back and you can park out front. There is a great patio and this place is good for groups, friends, dates, and tourists. It’s not a place for the kiddos.

This little gem blew my socks off. Generous small plates were spot on for flavor and everything was perfectly cooked. My favorite was the smoked salmon wings, also known as collars. Nice outdoor patio available for dining. Creative cocktails make use of bitters and unexpected combinations of liquors. Service was as good as the food.

The food is served Tapas style. The flavors and presentation highlight the skills of the staff in the kitchen. The drinks are well thought out and combine flavors that complement each other as well as the food they are served with. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
