2023-08-25 16:20:30Food is awesome, will go back for the food once more. The beer garden has a lovely environment but a little disappointed with the small number of beer on tap. The one I wanted had also over. They do have a large variety of canned beers so you still have choices. They also close by 8 and the restaurant closes by 730, which I felt was a bit early for a beer garden.Overall a great experience and a great time, surely will visit again.

2023-04-05 04:44:45Wow i really enjoy this space! not only was the food incredible but the vibes in the outdoor seating area along with drink selections are immaculate! 10/10 would recommend for yall to stop by and try their menu items! as the weather is slowly getting warmer Im so juice to stop by again because imagining the summer breeze along with the cotton candy sky sounds like such a fun experience!the staff there are also so approachable and friendly - because as for drinks i got a sour of some sort (to be honest - i wasnt too sure what to order so i asked the bartender for his recommendations in which he was so helpful and allowed me to taste test prior to buying the drink!) the only downside is that parking may be hard to find on the streets but there are tons of side streets nearbyperfect for groups, friends and family, and dates!! 10/10 would recommend trying their garlic shrimp plate ($19) - which was so flavorful and everything within my plate was paired so well together 🤤

2022-11-07 11:08:36Good vibes, beer selection, and food. I love their outdoor space with plentiful seats.Met the owner and he was so kind and humble. He’s a Union City native and so is the chef. You need to check out their kitchen. The chef previously worked at a Michelin star restaurant and you can really tell! We got:Spam masubi - super flavorful with nice sauce and green onions on topFried chicken and rice- came with Mac salad which I enjoyed. Portions were huge. Wish there was more sauce but overall delicious.Spicy Mayo tuna poke - this portion took us 3 days to get through. Very fresh fish.

2023-05-18 23:07:28We love coming out to Birdhaus! Their ube beer is delicious without being annoyingly sweet, like many ube treats can be. And the crab fries are RIDICULOUSLY overflowing with imitation crab, roe, green onions, and spicy mayo. EAT THEM UP.---- Older review belowEnjoyed checking out Union Citys Birdhaus Beer Garden and The Lone Crow today in Union City! These companion businesses bring Filipino and Hawaiian flavors to a chill, sunny outdoor gathering spot.Did I mention the halo halo ube tres leches cake? Its a collaboration with Macs By Icky and was a super sweet and delicious dinner to the afternoon. Earlier came a guava mint mojito, pilsners, hazy ipas, spicy poke, and a mochiko chicken bowl. Will be back on another sunny day. Wish they carried more of their own brews, though! And fewer IPAs...but I always wish that.1w

2022-04-12 02:40:41I’ve been looking for a spot in Union City with GOOD food. And let me tell you this place does not disappoint and frankly is the best food I’ve had in this city. I came here with my coworkers at lunch and will 100% be coming back. Great outdoor space for large groups with plenty of seating in the sun and the shade. The beer selection is vast. The chef here is super personable, local and clearly knows and cares about what he’s dishing up. Ingredients are sourced from Santa Cruz to Monterey and tastes so fresh. The menu changes with the season and the plant based options are so flavorful and not an afterthought to the menu. Also the portions are incredibly generous so if you’re like me you’ll have leftovers. My only wish is they were open more days of the week. Will be coming back over and over - this place is a gem!!!

2021-10-15 00:56:35The food was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend lived in Hawaii for years and he is raving about it. Loved meeting and talking with the owner of the Birdhaus portion. Cant wait to meet the chef and owner of The Lone Crow so that we can complement him on his excellent, authentic island dishes. What a treat. The atmosphere was wonderful. The owner of Birdhaus has some wonderful improvement ideas and I cant wait to go back and see the changes as they progress.

2021-09-07 20:22:25Great looking outdoor space and some tasty Hawaiian Eats. The Poke was fresh and had a little spice which was nice. The Mochiko Chicken was super well fried and the sauce was great. The SPAM roll was enjoyed by my 13 year old. The beer options were good as well, with a bunch of fresh Barebottle Cans to choose from. Hard to go wrong with Barebottle.

2022-10-13 21:15:15Were invited to come out to hang here for lunch on Sunday by our family who had been scoping out the spot for a couple weeks for a Sunday experience. But had never been able to get in because the place had been packed so much. Sunday was also busy but not as much likely because the kitchen is not open on Sunday which means they only have beer and drink available. It seems one of the attractions is the atmosphere which is open space seating outdoors with plenty of cover for you to get mostly out of the sun. The table area is relatively sized and has additional seating with umbrella cover in the rear back. You would not think that a place like this would have that kind of space available for seating because the building for the establishment itself is relatively small. This appears to be a brewery owned and operated by Filipinos. Which makes a lot of sense because this is after all, Union City. One of the great Filipino congregation Havens. I would also say that the vast majority of the patrons themselves were Filipinos as well. Upon entering, there was a decently good list of beers available for order. Seem to be a mix of their own brew plus beer from other commercial microbreweries as well. My eye instantly was caught by the calamansi pilsner, which I felt was what I had to have because calamansi for me, is a well-known Filipino fruit or citrus which I often use in the place of lemon when I dont have any lemons available and it does the job quite well. Unfortunately, I dont think this combination works for me. Im glad I had it, but I dont think Ill have it again. I did not get a chance to try any of the other beers but the environment along with the outdoor music and the good weather and good company means I will likely come back to hang in the space and to try another one of their beer offerings in the future. I would however, recommend that you come on a day where their kitchen is open. Although I dont know how good the food will be, I would eventually like to try it because the photographs Ive seen of the selection look intriguing. That, and the food truck that stood in on Sundays for the beer garden did not satisfy my palate, and good beer should be paired with good food.
