Giovanni and his team are phenomenal. Their food, service and overall presentation are more than exceptional. They go out of their way to make sure your meal is enjoyable and are always attentive. We have been to their restaurant many times, but recently took them on as our caterer for our wedding. Their food, timeliness and guest interactions were more than we expected and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We are definitely life long customers and highly recommended Bistro 13 to anyone looking for amazing food, in a beautiful atmosphere with great service. Thank you Giovanni and Team for making our wedding day exceptional!

Wonderful restaurant Food was delicious. The wine list very good too. House-made bread and really high quality butter. We had an appetizer (meatballs), two main courses (gnocchi and Australian barramundi), and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was great. I can see why this place has been here for 20 years - it is awesome and very much loved by the locals. Megan (hostess/server) was great. We got to meet with and talk to Giovanni, the owner. Loved it all here. Wished we lived closer! Id be a regular ❤

Apparently this local Italian diamond has been around for a couple of years (53 between this and prior locations) and it shows! Giovanni and his staff are amazing and the food is there to match. I jumped right in to the food when it got to me so no pics. But the bar is awesome and the coffee is great. Worth the time to check out if you haven’t been and the return trip if you have.

My husband and I went in on April 28, it was my birthday weekend. We drove from Fresno. It was the best pasta we have ever had. The staff was very courteous. Especially the manager. He gave me a cup of coffee with wonderful conversation. We will definitely come back. Mary and Andre Summers.

Can not say enough about this restaurant and its owner Giovanni! Held my sons rehearsal dinner here and everyone raved about the food and the service! The wine parings, appetizers, salads, entrees and dessert were superb! All surprisingly reasonably priced as well. We had a private room by the bar that easily accommodated 20+ people. Thank you so much Giovanni and Bistro 13 for an amazing evening!

Trip Advisor says this is the sixth best restaurant in town, its wrong. This is the best restaurant in town per a local who has eaten at almost all the other 5 on the list. This is far better than lure, amazing customer service, with food only comparable to cliff house in San Francisco.Amazing palette experience and overall experience. Hats off to the chef and everyone else.

No tap water. Bottled water very pricey. Prawns in rice in risotto still had skin and tails on them . When mentioned to staff shells still on prawns was told they are supposed to be like that!!! Risotto not very hot and plate not even lukewarm.Food just like my Momma used to cook and she couldn’t cook either. Service not great. Had to seek out somebody to have companions plate heated. Overall, a terrible experience. Avoid.

Elegant restaurant with great staff and service. I had the lasagna as my first dish here and it came out in a nice presentation and not just a bowl of red sauce and melting cheese. Nice selection of wine for any budget. Definitely worth checking out, get reservations because I went on a Monday and even then it was busy.

Waiter was pleasant.Air conditioning was ineffective. We were indoors, but slapping flies throughout dinner. My glass of red wine was served much higher than room temperature.Salad greens werent fresh.Bread not bad but was unheated. Butter served cold.I had the Calabrian risotto which was mediocre at best.My wife had the mushroom and filet mignon risotto. I tried it The steak was bland and gristly and we had to ask for more mushrooms.Staff were standing 3 feet from our table, speaking loudly in Spanish. Neither of us finished more than half of our expensive dinners.Finally, the hostess came to ask how we liked our meals.I told her the staff was pleasant, but we were terribly disappointed in the food and the uncomfortably warm atmosphere. She asked if she could get us some desert. I asked if she was offering a complimentary dessert or asking us to order.. She said she was asking if we wanted to order dessert. I asked why she had bothered to ask how everything was if she didnt intend to address the issues.I guess its just our tough luck, then?Yeah, I guess so, she replied. I asked to speak to the manager. She ignored this request and told the waiter. He also asked if we wanted to order dessert and finally offered it gratis. It was house-made tiramisu, and it was indifferent at best, garnished with artificial whipped cream.Finally, the restaurant was dirty, windows not clean.I lived in San Francisco for 30 years, where there are many fine Italian restaurants, and I have visited Italy.Ive cooked in a restaurant. Ive lived in Camarillo for 8 years.The least expensive, least pretentious Italian restaurants in Camarillo are superior to this inexplicably highly overrated, overpriced place. We wont be returning.

Im really disappointed with this restaurant. My parent-in-laws and husband have been going here for years! Even though the food is just okay ✨️✨️and over-priced, my father-in-law always gave business here. The tiramisu tasted horrible 🤮🤮 and the waiter, who is the right hand of the owner, says its home made. that was the first and the last time I ate that disgusting tiramisu. when my father-in-law wants to buy this for me, i always have to tell him im full because the truth is, it will end it up in the trash. The rest of the food is so oily, no matter what I ordered. Even though my husbands father has known the owner for years, he couldnt even joke to his employees, who have been working there for 20 years. The waiter gossips like a high school girl and changes the whole context of what happened to maje himself look good. The owner will then insult you as he did my father-in-law through text. THANK YOU, FOR DOING THIS! Its a relief not to come here and face the horrible food!!! I DONT NEED TO TASTE THE GROSS, OILY FOOD AND THE HORRIBLE DRINKS YOU MAKE! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Came in here because Lazy Dog had a wait...and spent 4x what I had planned, with no regrets. Serving staff was on point, tried the lobster. Tthe mashed potatoes couldve passed for dessert with the enjoyment I derived. Not big on dessert, but their tawny 10,20,30,40yr port flight had me all warmed up and impressed. Definitely a spot for a celebratory date night or a solo night of splurge.

I wish I had a better food experience to share. I ordered the seared salmon. It came with a house salad that had several wilted leaves. Tasted as if the lettuce had been on the cold plate for a while. Not too good. The salmon was cooked well but the red pepper sauce under the salmon had little taste. It came with risotto which was good. All in all, I thought the entree was overpriced at $28.95. We had a piece of German chocolate cake which was served cold (from refrigerator, I guess). It was a little dry and crumbly. This was my first time at the restaurant, so I dont have info on other dishes. My wife had the scallops and she said they were very good. The servers were nice and very attentive.

Afterworking all day I was dog tired. I stopped in the Bistro 13 for a little chicken piccata. They included a dinner salad.I was full after the chicken piccata and took the salad home.I just open the salad up for lunch and was astounded. That was the most fresh salad I have ever had. Our server was so attractive and bubbly I wanted to marry her on the spot. However, the food was not so appealing. The risotto dish that I had was ordinary and the wine was bland. The owner came by and was kind of in our face about how the food was and everything. I didnt need that. Besides that, the price was on the high side.

The only negatives were: (1) They should have a good bleu cheese salad dressing available; and (2) the manager (owner?) needs to wear his mask, especially when talking at very close distance with employees, as well as wear it correctly.

Came here for a birthday dinner and wow!! Everything was wow. The moment you walk in, youre greeted by the front reception girls. Super nice! Our waiter was amazing! The food was amazing! I ordered the Salmon, my husband ordered a Filter Mignon. My other group members ordered the Prime NY Steak and the 35 Day Aged NY Strip. All of them 10/10! Delicious, cooked to perfection! We also ordered sides: Truffle Mac n Cheese, Asapargus, Mashed Potatoes, and Fried Cauliflower. The Mac n Cheese was a 100/10 lol. We also ordered French Press coffee, and three desserts; the Sundae, some Banana Tart, Cream Pie. I dont remember the exact names. They also brought a delicious chocolate cake for the birthday guy. Honestly for the price of what you get is way too high. I had the lobster ravioli and didnt have one single piece of lobster in the entire dish!!! To be honest they put pieces of ham in the cream sauce instead of pieces of lobster which I would have expected. I only got four raviolis 👎 The pea soup was pretty good and I have to say the bread is homemade and tasty however could have used more garlic My dad had the chicken piccata and wasnt too impressed. Im sorry to say we will most likely not be coming back.

Overall experience was exceptional. At first, with the staff over the phone I dealt with two individuals who were very polite and accommodating. The staff in person during the meal were all courteous from waiters to bus boys. We had a long drive ahead so we didnt get to enjoy a drink and wanted to eat light, so had to stick with salada. That being said, the beet salads was delicious but the chicken Caesar was as balnd as they come which was relatively disappointing. The bread which comes out before the meal was cute, heart shaped but non traditional from what I know it was a biscuit and was pretty dry and unappealing. Id give them another go when I have a chance to eat something more fitting for what they offer as many of their dishes sounded delightful. Still, overall I would go back and the service was fantastic.

Such an incredible little joint with a super friendly staff. From their authentic Italian pastas and sauces, to their Salmon Beurre Blanc, everything is wonderful. Lobster ravioli is to die for, but my personal favorite is their filet mignon. Of all the restaurants I’ve been to, fine dining or not, Bistro 13 has the most tender filets I’ve ever had. The Creme Brûlée is perfectly done, and their vast selection of sorbets is incredible. Pineapple Sorbet came served in a legitimate halved pineapple! It’s such an unsuspecting little restaurant in a strip-mall, but you’d be a fool to not try them. From the service, to the ambiance, to the quality of the food, Bistro 13 is a total winner!
