Walked in, and was immediately greeted by 2 exceptional ladies! I was looking at all the pictures of food they serve and saw kang Kong (water spinach) and had to have it! I was seated and ordered off the pictures. I also got tofu and veggies that was served in one of the best brown sauces Ive tasted through out my travels. Everything was exceptionally tasty, and worth it! The kang kong was the highlight of my lunch experience! It was cooked with garlic and was sauteed to perfection and it gave me great delight and bliss to have it!This is what I know, I know this place is one of the best of the best for their type of food and they are superior to no one but themselves! I know Ill return, and order more from their menu. I know Ill spread the word how exceptional they are! Fresh, amazing, and brilliant!This is what I recommend, I recommend exactly what I had, the kang kong and tofu with veggies. I also recommend to try everything on the picture wall because if they can make veggies taste remarkable, the rest will be great also!
Prices more than doubled since last time we went about 1.5yrs ago and place unf quality went down as well. My wife tasted bbq pork that was bad didnt make it a big deal just informed wife def not coming back for poor quality and prices
I feel sick. I did not like my egg fu young but I was with 2 other people so I picked at it. All the food smell like week old fry oil. The kicker was when we left we were shocked to find whole fish drying out in the parking lot. I have never seen anything like this.On the bright side, I did get a good fortune cookie to hope I live long enough to see it come true.

Be prepared to wait even when you call ahead to place your order. Our orders have never been ready and usually takes 20-30 minutes to get. So plan accordingly. It almost seems as though your order is prepared after you’ve paid.Food is good but pricier than other nearby restaurants.
I dont think too many people know about this place, and thats fine with me. They have some DAMN GOOD Chinese food. I absolutely LOVE the duck. It takes a bit to cook, but its WORTH THE WAIT. My family and I come here at least once a month and we just love it! The cuisine is always piping hot and incredibly savory. I love the staff there, especially the older Chinese lady who is sweet, kind, always has a smile, and has great skin! Well be coming here for the foreseeable future. Absolutely love the food! Its our go to when we dont want to cook! Always a crowd pleaser! I ordered 2 medium trays for a party the same day of the party and they were able to have it ready in 15 minutes! I was amazed! We always get the chicken noodles and fish fillet with vegetables and black mushrooms. Delicious! I tried their orange chicken the other day and it was the best I have ever had! Great place for dine in or take out! Friendly staff!

Our food was great. It was my kids first time at real Chinese food restaurant. They loved the food although I wish they had a kids menu or offered the lunch menu for them. We could have gotten a family meal but $17+/per person is too expensive for kids too eat family style.The service was great, very friendly. We will definitely go again.

BLUF: 2 stars for ease of finding and generous of food. However, there is no substitute for quality and taste. Will not return. Would not recommend.Food ordered: Dumplings, chicken skewers, kung pao chicken and house special chow fun. About $40 plus a tip.Food: While the portions where quite generous the taste was very subpar and bland. Appetizers where the overall highlight if you will. The steamed dumplings had some pop and a bit of taste but the overall flavor lacked. The chicken skewers where crunchy dry exterior, okay internal moisture but very little flavor. The main courses where very bland and not easily enhanced with items such as salt, pepper or soy sauce. Overall the talking point should always be food and flavor which missed the mark. They also forgot an order of rice which was included in the meal which I did not catch before departure.Price point: For what we paid I expected much better. While the generous portions did make up for the cost, that is no substitute for taste. Panda Express, Star Express or equivalent would be a fair better option for the price point.Location: The location was easy to spot and parking was ample. The difficulty was leaving if your headed east. The inherent busy area and the need to cross Plaza made for increased risks of accidents coupled with poor drivers resulted in a near miss just leaving the parki g lot. This is enough for me to avoid this location alone but that is also subjective.Atmosphere: Due to COVID we didnt dine in but nothing really stood out in my brief moments inside.
This is another hidden gem in National City on Plaza. Too many great menu options to name but the fresh lobster, chicken wings & sliced pork w fried rice were all delicious! Check them out! You can call ahead & pick up or even dine in!

If I could give it ZERO stars I would. The food was disgusting. Orange chicken and sesame chicken were strips of white meat chicken that appeared to be dipped in some type of sweet and sour. The chicken was dry and had no taste. The fried rice had no taste at all. Sooooooo incredibly disappointed after spending $65 on three meals, only to throw it all away. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS AMERICANIZED VERSION OF CHINESE FOOD. I should have just gone to Panda Express.
This is our go-to Chinese food place for the last 10 years and now when we come home, our must-visit dinner place. The owner Susan is a wonderful lady although my mom says she hasnt seen her for awhile. I hope she hasnt sold it without letting the world know.Our food is always excellent, served quickly and dirty dishes are taken away and replaced with clean dishes often.Yes, there are many good places to eat in South Bay for Chinese, I guess its just what/who your favorites are. The deep fried fish is A+++ as is the deep fried tofu and mushroom dish...heavenly for vegetariansGreat for families and they are loyal to their regulars.
I read the reviews before I tried it. Staying at the Holiday inn express down the street. All I can say is that this place is excellent!!!!! I am here all week and will not eat lunch anywhere else! Food is phenomenal and the staff is as well. Lunch specials are priced right and the place is clean😁
Good here is always great and delicious. Most items are served family style. The owner, Sue, is a remarkable hostess and likes to get to know her customers and to know if they are doing great.
I usually only order salted pepper tofu (without curd/meat ) and vegetable egg rolls. I love them Just make sure you get the tofu crispy /well done. It is definitely a great vegetarian substitute for the salted pepper wings. But Monday (3/4) I was in the mood for lobster. There are lobsters in the tank in the dining room. I was told the size and quoted a price which was exactly what I budgeted to pay (lobster isnt cheap but this was a GREAT price). There are a few different preparations but I chose to have it salted pepper style. It was amazing. Exactly what I wanted. I recommend that preparation if you like onion, scallions, garlic and jalapeños.

I am so disappointed with how my family and i were treated this weekend. We have been here countless times and even supported this business through covid by ordering to go and would eat here ALL the time prior to covid, yet yesterday Sunday 4/18 my family and i walked in for some lunch and when i asked if we could be seated in a corner, the workers told us we had to sit in between 4 BIG parties inches away from each other, i raised awareness that i was not comfortable sitting that close to other people and asked if we could be seated somewhere else. I was then rudely told i could either take the table or leave pretty much. We were not allowed to sit at the table i was requesting. Its pretty sad because we had always been treated nicely, but if they dont care for the health of customers safety well i dont mind just taking my business elsewhere.
We have passed by here many times also, we gave it a try and we love it. The owners and staff are very friendly. The food is delicious and lunch specials are cheap. Good portions. My daughters favorite place we even had her high school graduation party here. They even took pictures with us. This is are all time favorite and recommend this spot.
Best fried rice! Even the cheese wontons are delicious. And you get a lot for your money here. The only thing is that I did a to-go order through Yelp / GrubHub and they couldnt find my payment so I had to show them my bank statement to confirm.
Try the salted pepper shrimp with no tail its to die for!! Also their beef lo mein is good, I always order their house fried rice and sometimes their shrimp fried rice ! They are both good! Susan is always attentive and nice she knows my order by memory!!
One of the best restaurant in town! Honeywalnut is bomb and salt and pepper squid is awesome with jalapeno on top of it. I think every dish you order here is very good!! Plus the servers are awesone with great smiles😁

Was recommended to try the salt and pepper wings and they were the best wings Ive had. Much better than Buffalo Wild Wings or any chain. They were open Christmas Day, generous portions, and all the dishes had great flavor!
I ordered the egg foo young and the shrimp, chicken and barbeque pork were tough. It was very dry, dense and not enough bean sprouts. I also ordered hot green tea and it was oolong tea and luke warm. The other people I was with were also very dissatisfied with the quality of their food. Royal Mandarin has nothing to worry about.

The Fillet Fish with Tofu Hot Pot and Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings are awesome. In addition, I tried the Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce vice the Garlic Pepper and it was wonderful. Highly recommend this tiny gem at Plaza Blvd., National City, Cali.

Usually the food is great however, yesterday my order was incorrect and was hard chewy and half the meat was unedible after talking to staff they then accused us of ordering the wrong thing claiming i pointed at a picture of porkchops when i ordered just pork (bad meat by any standard) and then tried to say its always like this when I explained Ive been here many times always ordering the same thing and this was not right they got very angry at me and began to yell because we asked for a simple discount for the meat that was wasted. When looking for Chinese food, you look for tasty. The Salt and Pepper Chicken wings at Bistro City were tasty and crispy. They had a hint of sweet. If you like that then youll like the wings. If you dont you wont. I didnt care for the sweet so I took one star. On the other hand the wifey did like them.As for the other selections, they all were tasty.My favorite vegetable is Bok Choy, which you would think any Chinese restaurant would carry, but they dont. Not a t Royal Mandarine nor Golden Chopsticks. But Bistro City does carry the Bok Choy as a stir fry. Very good in my opinion.

I’ve had the Fried wontons as complimentary snack. Singapore Stir Fried Thin Rice Noodles, Dry Beef Chow Fun, Triple Mushrooms with Egg Bean Curd, Salted Fish Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon and Salt and Pepper Chicken WingsThe Singapore noodles were delicious and such good flavor, and the chicken in it was delicious! The dry beef chow fun was so good also honestly if you have a noddle craving this will settle it. The triple mushroom with egg bean curd was light and delicate but crispy at the same time.. the salted Fish Fried rice was so good also, don’t get it if you don’t like salty things. even though it was salty it was in a well balanced way. The crab rangoons were also perfectly flavored and lightly crispy such a great appetizer and the salt and pepper chicken wings are a must! So so freaking good! Perfectly seasoned and great crunch in every bit.YOU CANT GO WRONG HERE!

2023-08-05 20:01:00This place has a very good lunch special. Theres about 10+ main options, all the usuals. I have been eating heavy lately so today was a light day. I went for the Buddhas delight with tofu, steamed rice. But you can choose fried rice for the plates as well. Then you get a meat skewer fried wontons and sweet n sour sauce and a soup. I got vegetarian so instead I got an egg roll, wonton rangoon? (with cream cheese mixture inside) here is a photo of everything you get (minus the tea) for one option of the lunch menu. 11.95!! This place is very much like all other Chinese food places the flavors are the same. But this one added, lots of greens and black fungus to the Buddhas delight which is really healthy and a good ingredient. Another cool difference is this one is set up nicely for larger groups, there is a glass lazy Susan on mostly all the larger tables of 4 or more making sharing the meal so much nicer. The workers are there to work, and theres a bit of language barrier so dont be offended. Oh, they also have the good kind of fried shrimp... with the batter not the panko. Tail on, not filet.. try this place out!

We had Pork and Black Bean, Walnut Shrimp, and a whole Fried Rock Cod. Added some Chinese Broccoli. OMG. All of the food was delicious. The black bean was not too salty. The fried Rock Cod in a tempura batter was phenomenal.Veggies... awesome. My wife loved the Walnut Shrimp, the mainreason why we came here. A must try. Oh yeah, the Hot & Sour soup was good. Thank you.

They gave us complimentary Chinese chips and sweet and sour sauce in the beginning which was very nice. Friendly, awesome service. Spacious dining area. Clean bathroom. Well be back the next time were in town!

2022-11-26 04:18:27Anyone who cares for lobster, I recommend this Asian bistro. I chose the ginger boiled whole large lobster. Sooo good. I do love ginger which is great for blood circulation. I drink a lot of my own boiled ginger root tea with honey. They also got great salt and pepper pork chop highly recommended. Neutralize high cholesterol meal with good warm ginger tea after.
