2022-07-10 22:45:56Food presentation and quality was top notch. Would highly recommend them for high quality catering requirements. Communication processes could be fine tuned though. Example being: We didnt receive any pre-event day reconfirmation communication that everything was on track and they would be delivering on X date at X time in the lead up to our event date so we had to reach out by phone and email but couldnt reach anyone nor did they contact us when enroute or arriving on the day of as they mentioned they would in initial conversations. So it felt a little uncomfortable not knowing if the food was still arriving for our party or not. The food did arrive as planned but we would have appreciated that final touch point to alleviate any concern. The weird thing is they did eventually respond to our email but AFTER our event was already over days later to tell us that yes, our food was still to be delivered.

2019-07-09 20:29:34Bites and Bashes was such a pleasure to work with. We fell in love with Crystal and Julie at our first tasting, and even more so loved the food they had prepared. Not only was the food incredible, it was also beautifully displayed. The flavors were complex and interesting, and presented on beautiful service ware and topped with edible flowers which made a breathtaking spread of food. Our guests were blown away by how good the food was, crowd favorites were the vegan gluten free Vietnamese glass noodles, which came in a small Chinese food to-go box, the pulled pork sliders with slaw, candied bacon, and the truffle mac and cheese. And the wait staff were all professional and so nice! We also hired our bartenders through Bites and Bashes and they were excellent. Overall, they ensured our experience was easy, enjoyable, and the final result was perfect. And they’re prices were so much better than all the other caterers we researched. I would recommend Bites and Bashes for any event in a heartbeat!

2023-01-04 03:48:54I am an LA-based event planner for that focuses on high-end events. I have worked with a wide variety of catering companies, but Bites & Bashes is next level. The first time I connected with Bites & Bashes they worked with me to provide a quick turnaround and blew us out of the water in terms of quality of the food and service. Luckily they had the availability to cater a last minute internal corporate reception for 75 people where they provided the most delicious passed hors doeuvres. In addition, we added the antipasto (picture below) which was a huge hit and incredibly stunning. The flowers came from the Chef Julies garden which added to the magic. The most recent event that Bites & Bashes catered was for our office holiday party at the Natural History Museum for about ~200 attendees. They were extremely patient and kind during the planning process as we had to build out an entire kitchen outside of the venue. Crystal (president) was specifically able to figure out ways to make our dream menu come to life even with all of the venues restrictions (quick set-up/load-in times, lack of power, etc.). The Bites & Bashes team is creative and innovative. If you have a food or beverage idea for an event they will take it and make it 10x better than you could have imagined. For our holiday party, they made and served:Passed Appetizers/ Hors doeuvres: Korean short rib tacos, jalapeno mac n cheese bites, roasted butternut squash hummus on cucumber cups, chicken corn dogs, and crispy coconut shrimpInteractive Food Stations: Pasta Bar, Live Action Carving Station, Sushi Bar, French Fry Bar, and a Late Night Taco StationDrinks: festive cocktails - Naughty or Nice (margarita) and The Grinch (vodka, cucumber, pineapple, basil, lime), and an interactive old-fashioned stationIf you are looking for good food, gorgeous presentation, AND fabulous service, than Bites & Bashes needed at your next personal celebration or corporate event. I cannot recommend Bites & Bashes enough!

2019-01-11 02:07:43Ive failed you all; kept quite for this long, holding back on giving you all the scope on this amazing place!Let me start at the beginning...I first hear about Bites and Bashes from a colleague at UCLA and they were highly recommended because of their presentation but also their great customer service. Initially when i reached out it was a bit over my price tag so I went with another caterer I found on Thumbtack. 3 months before my big day and a whole other story of tom foolery and scams led me right back to the loving arms of B&B. I quickly learned that sometime you have to pay more for quality and please believe this is top grade. After a beautiful tasting and warm/wonderful conversations with both Cyrstal and Julie (really everyone on their team is superb) we were sold! Sold on everything I ever wanted at my wedding plus more. We was able to customize a menu that suit both my fiancee and my taste, we had the most beautiful cheese display Ive ever seen, a damn tasty churro bar and some boozy snow cones. I mean it was divine. I am sad we werent able to pig out like we wanted on the tasty meal but we have sworn and will be back on our 1 year anniversary to recreate the experience.I highly recommend! The food is unique, tasty and has so much soul and love cooked into it. You will not go wrong .

2023-07-09 06:11:52Sorry I had to give 2 stars. I was a fan but my recent order of glass noodles was disappointing!Asked if I want beef or chicken for meat- I said chicken - I didn’t think it’d add $4.75 for a minimal amount of shredded chicken. And most of all, it was super salty! I can’t finish because all I can taste is salt and I can barely see the few noodles they put in.My daughter in law is Korean and cooks a very good japchae so I know what a good glass noodles should be.

2019-01-27 00:00:45Came here for brunch on a Saturday and sat outside with our dog. Looked very modern and spacious inside but also very homey and friendly and we were immediately greeted by the staff. The service was awesome as they brought water out to us (and our dog!) quickly and checked on us consistently even though we were outside. We loved that the chef brought out our food and personally thanked us for coming in!We ordered the crack in a cup (similar to Vietnamese coffee), crack fries, shakshuka and the churro pancakes.Crack fries - the sauce and cheese on these was delicious and the fries werent over/undercooked.Shakshuka - came out hot in a cast iron skillet and was super tasty. Ton of flavor and the bread and eggs were a perfect combo.Churro pancakes - tasted as youd expect, solid pancakes with churro powder. Awesome that this came with boozy syrup which was syrup in a bulleit whiskey bottle!Highly recommend this place for brunch. The food had a ton of flavor and the menu has enough variety for repeat visits. The staff and service is about as good as youll find too!

2018-11-09 02:44:03Been here a few times with my gals for lunch. The crack fries are my favorite along with the candied bacon. Both have a nice spice to it. My friend got the Mac n cheese and it was definitely not your ordinary Mac n cheese it was so much better. The alfredo with chicken is delicious, with the edible flowers. This is definitely a step up from your average cafe. They changed theirnhkurs so make sure you get here before they close.Another thing we really loved was the owner came out and greeted us, chatted with us gave us a little history on her and how bites n bashes came to be. Such a nice lady.

2023-05-25 17:12:31I recently organized a private event in Los Angeles, and being unfamiliar with the area and its vendors, I turned to Google for help. I stumbled upon Bites & Bashes and it turned out to be an absolute gem! From start to finish, their team exceeded all expectations and delivered an outstanding experience. From the moment I initiated contact with Gail, I was blown away by her professionalism and expertise. Despite being miles away, she made communication a breeze, always responsive and attentive to my needs. Gail effortlessly guided me through the planning process, taking the time to understand our vision for the event. Her attention to detail and willingness to answer my countless questions were truly remarkable. Not only was Gail incredible, but her on-site team, led by Gabi, was equally outstanding. The actual event surpassed all our expectations. The antipasto display was actually a work of art. The food itself was AMAZING! The quality of the dishes was unmatched, and the noodle boxes were an absolute hit.I can confidently say that this was the best event catering I have ever encountered, both as a planner and an event guest. Highly recommended doesnt even begin to cover it.Thank you for making our event an unforgettable success.

2021-11-18 05:00:48Local gem for breakfast. Im so surprised this place doesnt have a line out the door like most other brunch places. We were able to try the shashuka, Kim chi fried rice, and the Korean breakfast plate, and all 3 of them are excellent. Will definitely go back.

2022-03-12 22:21:33I’ve been wanting to try this cute place for the longest. Finally did and I don’t know why I took so long. Hands down pancakes were the best for me and the hubby fluffy and flavorable. Overall everything was tasty and service was great. Would highly recommend to anyone to try it’s a must!
