This is a review for the dinner menu. This place is a hidden gem. The only reason we knew about it, is because I love Antonia Lofaso from Food Network!My recommendation would be to just order a bunch of different small shareable plates so you can sample the variety of things. They are all SO good. I would do this instead of focusing on the “mains.”It is quite dark and dim inside, but that is the cozy and intimate vibe.

The food was absolutely amazing. We had the spicy chicken wings, bolognese, corn ravioli, lamb skewers, hamachi, & peach cobbler. It was all incredibly delicious. Our server Kristen was an absolute gem. We are huge fans of Antonia’s and we were not disappointed!!!

All I have to say is WOW! What a fantastic time here for dinner while in town visiting. The food was amazing. Best meatballs ever. The sea bass was great. Chicken bao was soo good. Maggie our server was so sweet and even helped me play a trick on my girlfriend and we got her to believe that I ordered a Fluffernutter desert for our appetizer. 😆 we recieved such great service that we will definitely return on our visits to Cali!!

It had been a few years since I was last here for a Mom Night Out and this place has aged well! We had such a fabulous evening. Perfect really. I think that this restaurant is best with people you really want to share with ... food, cocktails, laughs. The atmosphere is conducive to talking and a lot of the food is best shared! We shared the deviled quail eggs first, which were so dillicous and such a perfect tiny bite. The painkiller and son of a beesting cocktails were unique and delicious. We shared the meat balls next and these are the BEST meat balls Ive ever had in my life. (Yup go ahead and joke but go for the balls). We all had different mains my friends had the papardeli and gnudi which they both loved ... I had the tiny but mighty lobster roll. Perfect ratio of buttery bread to creamy delicious lobsterness. My last cocktail was the Fade to Black 🖤 and we finished our lovely evening with the chocolate bread pudding. Its really satisfying to have such a great dessert at the end of a meal. Cant wait to to come back soon.

The place is inviting and casual. I loved the brick ceiling as it gave a European vibe. The tapas style food was perfect to accompany our drinks. We had a lobster pasta, spring rolls, taquitos and Mexican corn. The oysters were a plus! Fresh and tasty. The only concern we had is the tables werent very accommodating for my tall husband and his tall friend but we made it work.

I love this place every time I go. The food is amazing and delicious. My favorite thing is the smoked trout ciabatta. You can never go wrong with pretty.much anything on the menu, Im pretty sure Ive had almost everything 😂.

Great ambiance in a cool building. Food is above average. My favorite was the fried cauliflower, yum! The dining room is sooooo loud, though. I was with a big group, and it was so hard to hear. My main dish was pasta. It was ok, kinda boring, and soaked in butter. Goat cheese seemed non-existent. Service was mediocre, nothing terrible, just not amazing. Water glasses are almost as small as a shot glass, which was odd. Heat was blasting in the womens bathroom, weird too!! Best was the re-imagined take on a fluff r nutter sandwich. It was super sweet but delicious.

We went on Saturday as this place was in my list of restaurants to visit it looked in pics very nice inside, the bar area, ceiling and fans are very cool, but thats it. The menu for was ok with lack of variety in the main plates so we only ordered some plates to share. The spicy Korean wings were delicious, the shrimp with aioli were not my favorite way too seasoned and the aioli didnt really go with the dish, it would have been better to have a lighter dressing or just a lemon. Mussels were a disappointment, the sauce was way too greasy and heavy (usually we enjoy mussels and dip the bread in the sauce, well this was not the case, we both hated it) Service was bad and slow, we were waiting for our drinks and there was a bartender absolutely enjoying il dolce far niente, only one guy was really doing his job. Maybe our waiter forgot our order, dont know. We had to wait between dishes when we ordered 3 small dishes to share, they didnt bring a clean plate after the messy but delicious K-wings, had to ask for clean silverware, didnt take the empty glasses on our table. The Strawberry cocktail was really good(red hot and unbothered), we ordered 2. The ginger cocktail (son of a beesting) -not my favorite- but the ginger candy was really good. Martini was good just as ordered(dirty and extra dry), no martini glasses but in a small glass that when my husband moved it to drink it got spilled on the table).The sticky toffee pudding was good. Bill for 3 plates to share, 3 cocktails and dessert $139. My reviews are always based on price, service, food and place/vibe. Wont come back.

I was looking forward to this meal since seeing on DDD! Visiting from the east coast, the food was immaculate! The tagliatelle was one of the best dishes I’ve eaten. It was everything I thought it would be! Some other dishes we loved were the smoked trout, edamame and marshmallow fluff dessert was awesome!

I don’t typically go to the valley for dinner but really enjoyed sitting on the patio of this place. The quality of the food in relation to the price was just about right and fair in my opinion (as opposed to many average restaurants with astronomical prices these days). We ordered 3 tapas for the 2 of us. Trecce pasta was the winner, followed by the meatballs and lastly the roasted Brussel sprouts. I also liked the atmosphere and would come back again.

Came here for brunch. One of the best places I had for brunch. Bottomless mimosas and so many fun different flavors to choose from! The food were so tasty! Ordered a bunch of food but forgot to take more photos as it looked so appetizing we all dug right in for most of them. Great atmosphere and customer service. Definitely will come back.

Chicken taquitos are a must have!Great atmosphere, loved the outdoors seating. Quick service and brought out one dish at a time in my case which was excellent so nothing got cold.Pictured: Chi Chi drink (very strong, shareable, and great flavor), chicken bao (delicious), spring rolls (eh), and the chicken taquitos (12/10, one of my favorite dishes I’ve ever had!). It was early Saturday Evening and the place was starting liven up. We had never been here before but we read up on the place and the menu was pretty diverse and to their point eclectic. Me and my wife had gathered up a nice appetite so we wanted to put the menu through its paces. The place itself sits on Ventura boulevard next to a breakfast place and a Ramen joint. We seated and the server was very informative about how the food was kind of like tapas style. Small to medium portions and for sharing. She was ultra attentive to our body language. After her presentation we decided on the,:Crispy spring rolls, shiitake, cabbage, thai basil, cilantro, nuoc mam sauce. Their take on vietnamese deep fried rolls. It was good and had a nice tangy fish sauce. NextSpicy korean chicken wings, cucumber kimchi, cilantro, mint, We were a little undecided about this one. It had neither a sustainable kick and the sauce was ambiguous as a Korean flavor. NextShrimp toast, sriracha, scallion, bonito, nori, sesame seeds. It came out and it was a little intimidating in its presentation. Almost a wiry square piece. Once we decided to just attack it it was soooo good. Flavors were vibrant. Love this and recommend it highly we finished it off withCharred skirt steak, crispy onions, mustard aioli, parsley, garlic chips ( this will take a half hour to prepare so make sure you eat your To Starts at a leisurely pace,) The meat was cooked prefect for us medium rare, I wouldnt say the best piece of meat but really tender and juicy. The accompanying crispy onions were good as well.This place has great atmosphere, really loud and vibrant, Not a romantic place to have dinner though. Love to come back and try the other menu items. Awesome servers!

The chilaquiles were fine but some bites were oddly a bit fishy.Dining experience was rather pleasant, besides our struggle to find the restaurant. I was surprised in a disappointing way. He menu looks amazing, but the execution just isnt there. We spent more than $100 without drinks and left hungry. And the food was just alright. Not horrible, but definitely not worth the cost.We ordered the short rib hash, which was $35 and it was tiny, plus wasnt a hash, it was short rib on top of mashed potatoes. We also ordered the chicken and waffles (which has a 25 minute lead time) and what arrived was a whole Cornish game hen that was fried like a softshell crab.I will day the physical space is lovely. Im sure its great for pricey drinks.

Especially because I have heard and seen so much about Chef Antonia Lafaso and we had recently tried her other restaurant Scopa. Had a really good time at the Black Market. We did a tapas sharing round, and I especially liked the Brussels Sprouts and the meatballs. Cocktail-wise, the Red Hot was my favorite with a spicy sweet mix.Our waitress Emma was really kind and sweet and had good chemistry with us, which is always a good thing.Would definitely come back.

Delicious food! Bottomless mimosas for brunch and several varieties. The peach was my favorite. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Food and drinks come quick. I love the ham sandwich with scrambled egg and gruyere cheese. I’ve tried several of the other dishes and nothing has been better than the sandwich, imho. Love the handmade Nutella ice cream!!! Nice bathrooms. Parking on the street can be tricky. We parked in an alley a block away. Or they have $7 cash only valet parking. Gone a few times now since they have great food and service.

This was a pretty great brunch spot. Plenty of outdoor seating, dog friendly and allergy (food modification) friendly.We got the smoked trout with ciabatta, a custom butter lettuce and chicken salad (my friend had a lot of allergies) and the short rib dish. All were tasty. Our only complaint is the food did not come out at the same time, to the point where all of us were nearly done eating (and we waited!) before our friends dish arrived. To be fair it was the modified dish, so maybe the chef wasn’t used to making it.I’d come back here as it was easy to get a table and the food was enjoyable.

I was here for brunch on a weekend and it was amazing! The food was delicious, and our group really enjoyed ordering several things and sharing, so all of us got to sample more of the menu. The cocktails were also lovely and unique. Our server was cheerful and attentive, and gave us time to try each dish before the next one came out, so we werent overwhelmed with all the dishes at once. The deviled quail eggs are divine! So good that we ordered a second round (although the menu mentions ahi with the eggs, we couldn’t taste or see it). Oysters on the half shelf were also great. I had 6 the night before at Morton’s and think these are just as good. I really (ok, REALLY) disliked the hamachi appetizer, which I thought has an off-putting fishy taste, but my friend liked it.Our server was great while the hosts at the stand was decidedly not. People watching factor was high aa is indoor noise. All stools - at the bar and the many pub tables - lack backs and were quite uncomfortable.

Drinks on paper seemed progressive but in execution for some reason, they were not that over whelming. I had something with aperol, Campari and absinthe in it which looked delicious but had a VERY flat flavor, a bramble which seemed like it would have more berry flavor/sweetness to it but was very muted, and the Chilero which had somewhat of an overpowering soda water taste.The red hot and bothered is great if you dont mind jalapeno!We ordered spring rolls, chicken wings, and meatballs. Hands down, MEATBALL + SAUCE WAS THE BEST THING EVER; its weird that a place like this would have such an exceptional meatball but it was awesome. The wings werent my favorite because aside from being fried and dipped in a sweet glaze, it was too much chili flavor and not enough of a smokey dimension. Spring rolls were good.

Black Market Liquor Bar Restaurant is a spot transforms a childhood staple into a decadent grown-up treat. It’s located in Ventura Blvd in Studio city. We came here to celebrate the holidays and birthdays. The bar’s indoor seats has a cool atmosphere with its exposed brick ceiling. Moreover, it has a full bar and copious amount of leather couch seats and tables. Outdoor seating is available too for those who prefer the fresh LA air. Lol. We sat at the bar and perused at the menu. They have good selection of drinks (cocktails, wine and beer) and food (italian). I ordered one of the Schoolyard cocktails, Pinot Noir, Trout and Penne pasta with parmigiano reggiano pomodoro. The food was amazing and drinks were superfluous. Bartenders were bloody friendly and amazing. To top of they sent us a complimentary bday treat with a Marshmallow Fluff, deep-fried to create a blissful combo of crunchy creaminess. Prices were fair. Street parking is available. In this voluminous review, it’s time to make a recommendation. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, service, food and drinks. I highly recommend this bar restaurant.

What a cluster. Had a reservation for 6:00pm and showed up at 5:50. They took almost an hour to seat us. We sat down at 6:45 with no menus and the waiter told us we had to leave by 7:00 for another reservation. They said there was some mix up, but they had no idea what it was. No apology, explanation, nothing. Its utterly freezing on all their patios even with their heaters.

Good food and drinks. I love the environment and I’m a frequent visitor. Only complaint I had was the wait. There were a lot of clean and empty tables (including our table) and they had us wait standing outside for approx 30 mins to be seated. They’re not the only restaurant that I’ve seen do this. I don’t see any explanation for this, but perhaps there was a staff/server shortage? Other than that, once we were seated, food drinks and service were all excellent. I subtracted 3 stars mainly because of the experience upon entry. It can be a mood killer.

Atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. The food is very good. The staff is very friendly and professional. The skirt steak and the sea bass were excellent. I came here for a drink with my friend and we had the worst experience. Our server Connor N. never checked on us anfter our drinks dropped, nor did he come over even our food hit. Our glasses were dirty as well. When he dropped the check he didn’t even say thank you. He’s the worst server I have had in LA. It’s the holiday season too. What a terrible experience. Trying to support local businesses but the service is terrible. I came to spend money and due to his lack of service I didn’t spend much and would never set foot in there again.

Combine that with a table, dimly lit by a single candle and mood lighting, and you get a rather awkward dining experience.As for the food, all of us felt it was overpriced for what we received. The portions are small and the food admittedly far from spectacular... Nowhere near what we expected in terms of flavor. I insisted on trying this place for my friends birthday brunch. Our group of friends was really excited because I kept raving about this restaurant being mentioned on food network. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon we sat outside really hungry. We ordered a bunch of stuff. The chicken was too salty and the waffle lacked in texture. By all means this is not only my opinion, I am writing what we have discussed at the table. The hamachi was not tasty, definitely one of our least favorite. We asked the waitress whats a must try dish here and she suggested the biscuit. The biscuit was a scone! Looked like a scone, tasted like a scone. It was bland the ricotta that came with it tasted so plain. Best thing on that plate was the 2 slices of strawberries that was left. It was a weird suggestion to me because in the middle of seafood and chicken and waffles we were served a dessert. Last, but not least was the short rib. That was pleasant. I mean its hard to mess up a beef stew. Bottom line we left hungry. We did not order anything else because at this point we couldnt handle anymore disappointment. The service was not top notch, it wasnt bad either. They never changed the little saucers that we were eating from. So basically you are eating from a plate that you usually would put an espresso cup on (tiny) and all the juices and sauces from previous dishes get mixed on your plate. Short rib and scone with maple syrup and oyster juice. The service would have been better if they at least changed plates between surf and turf.

So it gives you an opportunity to see what your date likes to eat and see if you can compromise on what to order. I would recommend two to three sharable plates and a dessert!Definitely get a Fluffernutter! Probably what this place might be best known for, but it is such an amazing dessert! They were out of Pinot Noir but we had a few glasses of another red and it was pretty good. The food was amazing!!!I do feel that servers should gauge the body language of a table before interrupting if there is still food uneaten and glasses still full. If they had, they would have seen we were in deep conversation and clearly did not want to be bothered. I live in Virginia and had visit LA fairly often. My meal with one of my best friends at Black Market a couple years ago has been on my mind since then. So...we decided to meet there again while I’m here and shared small plates. Ryan was our amazing server on 10/8 and he suggested many of the dishes we selected. We started with the Ricotta Gnudi with brown butter and Pistachios! Probably one of my favorite dishes ever. We then had the Buratta with hearts of Palm, grape tomatoes, dill oil, and bruschetta as well as the Shishito peppers, togarashi, ginger, garlic in a soy based sauce. We then got the corn ravioli with parmigiano-reggiano. My friend and I kept dipping the bruschetta in the sauces of all our selections. OMG!! We finished with the amazing Deep Fried Fluffernutter, of course!! Shining equally on par with some of the best food I’ve had was our server, Ryan. He was very knowledgeable and excited about the food so we knew we were in excellent hands. Ryan was hilarious and we just really enjoyed spending our time together with each other and with Ryan. Nick came over and ignored us and preceded to serve the table of white guest, he got their drink order came back and got their food order. I didnt try the food here but I came for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend a couple weeks ago. I went on a Saturday thinking it would be a fun bar to try. However, the setup was more like a restaurant NOT a bar and people were there on dates or jn little groups. It was dark and loud despite it being roomy. We were told we could stand at the bar because even though we arrived between 10:30 and 11pm, tables were reserved for people ordering food only. Later, because there were no seats open at the bar, I went to the hostess and she told me we could sit in the back tables. The bartender that was middle aged with a beard was so rude and yelled at me when I asked what the well gin was, and other patrons turned and glared at me. Dont ask questions and dont expect to be treated nicely unless youre going to get food with your date and youll probably have a great time!

Place was nearly empty, maybe a birthday party outside. The food is pretty good but kind of small portions n pricey - but the main problem is that the bartender n the manager are both very rude, they refused to seat us at the bar even though the hostess said we could - we waited a bit - clearly those bar seats were empty and available!!!
