Visited this place for my partners birthday. The service was excellent, the food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted so fresh and well prepared. The portions of our meal was great for the price. Absolutely can’t wait to go back and try something else!I highly recommend the Gyro Pizza with lamb. It is EXQUISITE!!!

The employees are 5/5 stars.I got the bbq pizza it did taste like a watered down bbq sauce.The chicken tasted hard It lacks its own character.It did take 35+ minutes to prepare.The music should definitely be lowered.

Great little place hiding next to Chipatol near FedEx shipping center.Nice and fresh beef bowl followed up with nice Baklava. Definite worthy desert.As it is hidden between two stores, you will miss it unless you look carefully.Dont miss it though, it is good relaxing meal.Still good after one year has passed, and very enjoyable.

I ordered the Chicken Gyro with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and tzatziki sauce, pita bread and iced tea, very good, tasty and fresh, great service and very clean. They also have Lamb Gyros. Parking is tight if its busy and you have a big vehicle, thats the only thing I didnt care for, but the food and services made up for it!

We were greeted by Philip as soon as we entered. Super friendly guy, and he remembered the twisted order that I usually get. He also helped me pick out my meal because I’m VEGAN. Sometimes he gives us a free sample of new dish. This guy is burning calories moving quickly to serve all of us…… highly recommended!!!!

5/2020Ordered the chicken kabob fam deal which includes: chicken kabob, rice, salad, 1 tub hummusPortions: good amount. Menu states for this deal, theres 40 pcs of chicken kabob. I didnt count. Hefty serving of rice. 1 takeout container size of salad 1 medium size tub hummus.Aroma: Rice smelled good, kabob has that grilled redolence. Salad is wafting with vinaigrette. 6/10Taste: chicken kabob is not savory at all...as though it wasnt marinated. Very dry. It also imparts this metallic taste (probably from the tin foil container) 4/10.Rice was good but a bit soggy( the foil cover was the culprit. Im familiar with not covering the prepared dish mise en plat whilst the temp is up) 6/10Hummus was good but very oily. 6/10Salad is Salad as a side. N/A points wise.Verdict: will give it a chance by dining in to see if theres any difference.12/27 update:Chicken kabob meal:Kabob Taste:10/10 marinated/seasoned well, medium cooked, seared perfectly.Rice taste:ok yet still meager compared to A1, tastewise.Steamed slaw/salad/veggies:Pass but Ill keep the seared half tomato (can we get a whole) and Jalapeños...theyre great.Hummus:7/10Ok. Olives consistently has the best and Kabobs in the AV. Their rice is delicious and really compliments your meal. The hummus is amazing too! If youre in the mood for great Mediterranean food this is definitely a place you need to check out. They also have a variety of delicious vegetarian options including a vegetarian combo 😋!

Not even close to other Mediterranean restaurants. Shawarma pita was edible but lacked taste, little dry, needed more sauce. Salad had a weird taste, dressing had odd flavor. Even rice had no taste. Service was average, employee pleasant.

I’ve been coming to Olives since I arrived in the AV two months ago. I eat here once or twice a week, and I’m never disappointed. They take their time to make the dishes from scratch. I’m from an area with a LOT of Greek Restaurants, and Olives reminds me of home. I get the same Delicious Dish every time - Chicken Sauté!

Probably one of the best kebab restaurants in the Antelope Valley area. The meat is tasty, rice is fluffy and cabbage salad is delicious. Small restaurant but cozy.staff is friendly too. I had a good experience.

Beef Lula kabob:..looked like red pepperoni sticks. Super dry, red in color, spicy and minty(not sure why), but seriously lacking kabob flavor. I added salt, then squeezed some lemon over it, to to improve it to no avail. There was just no changing the strong mint/hot seasonings.Not like any Armenian food that Ive tasted, and Ive tasted many varieties. From Russian, Lebanese to Iranian. Love them all, and they are all similar in taste.The Hummus: was one of the best Ive tasted, full of flavor and just the right amount of seasonings. A+ for the hummus.Rice: cheap rice, and undercooked. Not the better rice that most offer, and I certainly didnt expect cheap rice when paying over $17.00 for a Lula Kabob plate. Used to be $14.99 according to the previous menu.Jalapeño and tomato: one jalapeño and half of a Roma tomato, partially roasted in an open fire. Again...being cheap with only half of a Roma tomato. There is no cheaper tomato, its a tasty tomato, but half?Side salad: flavors were ok, but who wants their salad minced into little pieces? How do you eat that with a plastic fork? Just leave the salad alone, season it and serve it. Doesnt need a chop.So hard to find good Armenian food in the A.V.The search continues. Next time I walk into an empty restaurant at lunchtime, Im moon walking right out. Im not even looking at the menu. No customers means, keep walking buddy.

Meh is the best I can rate this.I LOVED this place when it was just Olives and associated with the lancaster store. We always came to the Palmdale store because the location was more convenient, but we will DEFINITELY be going to the lancaster store for future meals.This was our first experience with Black Olives. First, I place 2 orders, one for hubs and I and one for my parents. I did online, they (in their words) “got busy” and so didn’t call to inform me that they were out of what my mom ordered, so when my parents got to the store to pick up dinner our food had to sit and wait while they prepared something new for her.According to my mom, at first they were barely even apologetic for messing up, then when they realized she’d give a bad review they made up for the mistake.When I opened my order, they didn’t included the $3 worth of sauces I paid for, however they gave my mom extra (none of which she paid/asked for) in her order for the mess up so we at least got some from her.As for the quality of the food hub and I ordered…We both got the chicken shawarma plate. It was seasoned well and had decent texture. The rice was good. I was extremely underwhelmed with the cabbage salad and I’ve had better hummus.I also ordered a side of falafel, and while the flavor was decent, they were WAY more dry than I’ve ever had them before.As stated earlier. This was our first visit to black olives and will be our last.

I go here all the time, it’s my go to when I crave Mediterranean. Food is delicious, they don’t skimp out on portion sizes either. You seriously get the most for your buck. I don’t usually like rice, but theirs is very flavorful and buttery. My go to is their chicken shawarma plate, but the other day I tried their lamb chops. Honestly the best lamb I’ve had in a while, not gamey at all, and really juicy. Service is also top notch. I went in to pick up my order and there was literally one guy running everything—takeout orders, dine ins, taking phone orders, all of it. Super professional and friendly. 10 out of 10, highly recommend if you love Mediterranean food.

The rice was mushy, the chicken kabob and beef kabob were not tasty, but the worst of them all…the dolmas. I have had delicious dolmas plenty of times at other cafes and restaurants. We went for valentines day and it had business but it was also quiet enough to have a conversation at the time. the waitress was quick to seat us and take our order. Don’t be fooled by the small storefront wedged between fast food: this place makes LEGIT FOOD.The babaganoush is wonderfully garlicky, the falafel is nice and crispy on the outside but moist and tasty on the inside, refreshing yummy baklava—and Phillip at the counter really took care of me.Great go to for travelers and locals alike!FYI this place is not associated with restaurant of the same name in Lancaster, despite appearances and menu. From this new location I ordered takeout. Had the Lamb Kabob and the Gyro. Im not sure why this restaurants food taste different from the other location in Lancaster when its a chain. But to be truthful it was not great, but mediocre. Hopefully it will improve in the future. I am willing to give it another try in a month or so. Because Im really hoping for a great Mediterranean restaurant here in Palmdale.

Black Olives Mediterranean restaurant (not connected to Olives in Lancaster) is disappointedly serving canned food at restaurant prices. The dolma was definitely canned probably from Trader Joes which is really sad. Dolma is cheap to make but VERY labor intensive. Better to not serve dolma then to serve canned dolma. Overall I did not enjoy the food. There are other Mediterranean restaurants in Palmdale and Lancaster that do better. It makes me sad to leave this review and I hope they begin to take more pride in serving authentic, handmade Armenian food.

We came for a late lunch. I made the mistake initially of ordering a gyro. Please be aware that the gyros are not what to come here for as they are made with processed meat and not on the spit. I explained my displeasure to the staff, who were incredible and made another dish (schwarma) for me. The flavors of everything, besides the gyro, were amazing and fresh and abundant. I originally left a lower review but after my experience with the staff and my amazing replacement dish, I would recommend Olives and I will also return soon.

Meh. The dolma was good. I did not care for their bread. The salad that comes with the sandwiches is just a dry slaw. I expected a small Greek salad. No dressing, no feta, no pepperoncinis, and to my surprise - no olives. I would expect a place with Olives in the title to serve an olive with their salads. The gyro was alright - lamb and tzatziki had good flavor, but the pita was disappointing and the veggies were cut into huge chunks (and I dont think the gyro came with onion). The rice was neutral - not bad. I might give them another shot now that I know what to avoid on the menu.

Im so glad Palmdale got an Olives. Ive been to the Lancaster location and both places are so good! Hubby and I came here today for lunch. My go to is the chicken kabob plate. The menu said to allow 20 minutes to cook but our food came out in 5 minutes which was a nice surprise.Their chicken is so good that I wish I knew how to make it like them at home. Hummus is unreal! I like dipping the chicken in it along with the pita bread. The rice is delicious too. This is just such a cute & quaint location that I forget while here that Im in Palmdale hah. Im so glad I live close by. I think Ill be coming here a lot since I dont go to Lancaster often. Our server was friendly without being overbearing. Even for just a lunch sized order, it was a lot of food so I took home leftovers.
