I’ve lived in the city for 6 years and finally made it this place. The wait is what kept me away but what spot in the city doesn’t have a wait…Food was actually pretty good and done well. Pricing is reasonable and the menu has something for all palates with a few Asian style dishes. I wouldn’t say you get white gurl wasted here but it can be a start.

My friends brought me here for brunch. It was busy, but we were able to get a table around 11 am. An interesting concept of a restaurant - Thai fusion with brunch, but I loved it. I ordered the crispy french toast with the side of two sunny side eggs and millionaire bacon. Everything came out amazing. The French toast was a perfect crunch, fluffy bread and the fruit and syrup brought in the sweetness. Add a piece of bacon or egg, boom you got your sweet and savory combo. It was a lot to eat, but I did it. The coffee was okay, but still did the trick. The service was wonderful. Very attentive, checking in on us and getting everything we needed in an efficient manner. Definitely will be back on a future trip.

Such a treat to dine at this wonderful restaurant!! The food was fresh, delicious, artfully presented and the servings were abundant. Our group had the Blackwood Pork and Halibut and the Marina Treasure, which was on a Split pineapple and almost too beautiful to eat. I also had the Mermaid cocktail, which was a piece of art and tasted amazing too. Quite telling was the many folks who appeared to be from the neighborhood who were enjoying this terrific restaurant too! We will definitely return when we are in SF again...

Blackwood is American-Thai fusion on Chestnut st. You can choose to sit inside or outside.The decor is clean and spacious. The menu includes good ol’ Thai to kids menu burgers. That’s a good idea because, the green curry I ordered, while very tasty, but packs a punch.The service was prompt and polite. Very clean restrooms. You can find parking on side streets, and the streets are lively.

Drove up from LA to SF for the weekend & had heard about this place from a few locals & decided to give it a shot. Boy were we impressed, the food was absolutely delicious & the service was great. I enjoyed their house beer & the rib, my wife got the chicken with a margarita. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

First time here. It had a nice relaxing atmosphere, and the staff was very friendly. I wasnt sure what kind of food we were getting when we walked in; but the decor drew me in. I really liked the menu, which was Thai American fusion. We ordered several dishes to share, which everyone enjoyed. Others in the party had the melon mule and the little mermaid which they really liked.I will try the drinks next time Im there.

I’m not really into Asian Fusion food, but I have to say, lunch here may’ve made me change my mind. I’ve eaten here for breakfast/brunch, but today, I had a late lunch and realized it’s Thai Fusion. Wasn’t jazzed but at the same time, whatever the table next to me had, I was like WHOA. I ended up pointing to the table across from me and ordering ‘whatever that table is having’. Turns out it was the Hot Stonepot and the Pimped Up Ramyun. FYI, I am not sure if the entrees are made for a single portion, but we ordered two entrees for four. There is just no one a super hungry person can finish one plate. I would order less and add on if necessary.The waitress and staff are very friendly and as speedy as the food came out after ordering, I opted to wait a little to order bc my group was late.Overall, great tasting food, good service, good quality for the money. I would def go back.Oh, I didn’t take advantage of this, but they have bottomless mimosas for $26. It’s limited to one hour but if you can get three glasses in (big pours and not over juiced), it’s worth it.Parking can be challenging but I know the area so I parked at 1598 Bay Street around the condos (no parking meters) and just walked over (10 min)

Chefs Kiss! 🤤 My buddy was back in town from Houston and kept talking up the stone pot here from when he lived in SF. It did not disappoint. I added some of the millionaires bacon and it was truly amazing. The portion felt like it was big enough for two people to share or one extremely hungry person. Service was good and the decor was nice. They had indoor/outdoor seating and some good drink/cocktail options. This was a rec from our friend who lives in SF. My MIL had the red curry which was fantastic. I had the pad thai and it was pretty good. My husband had the burger and it was great other than being super soggy. The fries were some of the best Ive had. If I were to return I would get the curry!!!

The best American Thai food you can get. Some friends and I went there for breakfast/brunch and I tried every dish that was ordered. The combination of breakfast with Thai ingredients and spices was phenomenal. I would highly recommend coming to this place.

Yum! The smoked cashew Thai entree was yumscious. The menu has a wide variety of options, perfect for families or groups who have varying tastes. Update - Went back yesterday for dinner and it was so tasty. Update June 23, I just had my 6th meal and it was just wonderful. Smoky Cashew again. Cooper gives Blackwood 5 Wags. Small cute spot in SF. They won’t be known for the interior decor but their food was absolutely exceptional. You must try at least two appetizers…they are delicious. You will NOT be disappointed! Fun fact: we’ve had both brunch and dinner here and both are outstanding. Brush is super popular but dinner did NOT disappoint, in fact I somewhat preferred it. Outstanding time and food! Note: service was very quick but we didn’t mind because we had a fussy baby. It would have been wonderful if our apps have come out with better spacing beefier our mains.

This place combined my two favorite things - Thai food and bottomless mimosas! I normally struggle to find a good brunch spot as a vegetarian who doesn’t eat eggs, so this place was the perfect fit for me.I got the smoked cashew nut tofu and the vegetarian hot stone spot and both were DELICIOUS. The smoked cashew nut was my favorite - I loved the presentation, intense flavors, and large portions.The $26 bottomless per person was a STEAL and although there wasn’t a pitcher kept at the table, the service was so fast that I couldn’t even finish my drink before they came to top it off. The service here was extremely efficient, kind, and made the brunch experience standout. I enjoyed the mix of family and young crowds, it felt more classy than usual brunch spots in the City.This place has my two thumbs up and I can’t wait to bring my friends back here.

Absolutely phenomenal. We chose Blackwood due to its high ratings and being on the same block as our hotel. It far surpassed our expectations. The corn cob ribs were out of this world delicious, perfectly cooked and so flavorful. Our Thai dinner dishes were so delicious, we barely spoke while eating. It was 10/10 experience and we look forward to being back in SF so we can visit again.

Good Thai food in the Marina district. The beef noodle soup had a lot of flavor, very nice. A deep and rich broth it was definitely the star of the evening. Seafood platter was a good size and it was cooked well. The spring roll was fine an the scallops were good quality. I should’ve gotten a pan fried dish, that’s regrettable. They have a great drink selection and the staff are super friendly even when it’s packed. If you’re in the area and want Thai stop in.

Blackwood is a contemporary, lively and fun brunch spot in the Marina downtown. Loved the matcha coconut latte and the food was great as well! If you’re weak to spice, beware of the panang curry they did not hold back on the chili sauce! Overall, wish there were couple more vegetarian options but it was a bomb experience 🙌🏽.

Great concept, good staff. There is a chance I just ordered the wrong things. The menu was very interesting.Attached images are of the ahi salad and the kabocha fries. Was here the last time I was in SF in 2020. Remembered how great the meal was, so the first day I landed back went there for my first meal. We went with two dogs, they were really accommodating and nice to us and the dogs, even though we arrived 30 minutes prior to closing time. Meal was as delicious as I remembered. Thank you!

Hard to park around here and the neighborhood will be very crowded. Make sure you get a reservation here as everyone wants to come here for the IG food shots.Order whatever you want that sounds exciting and itll probably be pretty interesting. This is part of the millionaires bacon chain saw keep an eye out for those upsells. If I came back and could order fewer things I wouldnt get the congee and maybe something else I cant think of. Still good though and worth coming once!

Tasty food and quick service. My partner got the flight of Millionaires bacon, which looked enticing. I dont eat pork, but even I admired the balance of candied, crunchy, chewy, savory, sweet, and spicy that was represented. The spring rolls I had were crispy and light. The deep fried French toast wasnt too heavy, which was pleasing; it tastes of lemon ricotta 😋. The Thai Shakshuka is an entire, filling experience unto itself; its still simmering as it comes out! In fact, all of the food is served piping hot — just like I like it.As far as drinks, what we had (the hot spiced almond beverage & dragonfruit bellini) didnt match the caliber of the food. They lacked the flavor profiles noted in the description. Well try something different next time.

A wonderful Thai centered restaurant. We found it by walking by and the hostess was able to seat our small party in 20 minutes on a Saturday night. The millionaires bacon was incredibly delicious and worth trying. 2 slices of very thick cut extremely succulent bacon with perfectly cooked asparagus. Our entrees were all delightful, particularly the Blackhawk Belly and aftershock. The friend rice with fresh tasting seafood was also well liked. I already want to return to try out the breakfast and brunch menu.

Wandered into this place and wow what a pleasant surprise! Definitely get here early! We got here around 10AM on Wednesday and it was pretty busy by the time we left around 11:20 which is surprising considering it was just a normal weekday. We did notice that they were a bit understaffed, they only had 3 people working the whole restaurant so they were not as attentive with water and bringing the check like other places. Food wise, I got the Lemon ricotta pancakes which I thought were just okay, and my Bf got the chicken and waffles which he really liked. Where to begin? Well, if youre eating at Blackwood you should begin with the Millionaires Way! Three slices of the most delicious, thickest bacon youll ever taste. I could live on this alone. But why would you, when you can follow it up with Panang Curry Short Rib? It fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. I love Panang, and I love short ribs, but it is the first time Ive had a short rib that way. It wont be the last!My wife had the Pumpkin Curry with fried tofu, which was also very tasty. Our son had the Pad Thai, which was fine, but a hard dish to ever say it stands out. I reluctantly gave them a taste of my short rib, and they both agreed that I won the ordering lottery. They had a decent beer selection - I had a Hazy IPA. Also a better than average wine selection for a Thai place. My wife had a Sauvignon Blanc and enjoyed it.Service was quick & friendly & Covid safe. Well be back!

I recently spent a long weekend in SF, and this place was one of our highlights! What amazing food. For the price, the presentation of dishes at this place was outstanding, and the flavors, Top-notch! The entire group loved what they ate. One of the best Thai fusion Ive discovered in the city! Go for there delicious food, minimal yet upscale ambiance, so many options even for vegetarians and great service!As for food, I tried the Penang curry with rice and asked them to make it spicy. It was topped with avocados (seriously that makes for a great combo), beautifully presented and served. Also tried the pad Thai, spicy (yes I have a good spice appetite) and it was flavorful. I loved the fact that the food wasnt made artificially spicy with chillies on top but was actually blended with flavors.I stumbled upon this place by chance but would definitely go here again.Fun fact: In my meditation practice they say, focus on only eating when youre eating and youll feel the flavours differently. This is one place where is definitely try that coz youll for sure understand what that means ha!

The melon mule was not good and tasted super artificially sweet like a jolly rancher or some type of candy. My favorite Asian fusion kitchen located somewhat between Thai and Korean food. its a rather small location with a good choice of menu and friendly staff. However, in terms of the taste of the food, there’s not much reason to come to this place rather than any average American breakfast restaurant.Following our hostess’ recommendation, we ordered a Blackstone benny (the other one recommended was chicken waffle). Nothing remarkable (why are there posters all over the place featuring the bacon…?). Everything here is amazing. The food is so flavorful, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The cocktails are so perfectly mixed, it’s pretty easy to get a little lit at dinner. Ordered Thai Shashuka and Angus beef noodle soup for brunch. The Thai shashuka taste nothing like Thai food and it’s so blend. The noodle came out over cooked and our bacon millionaire which was supposed to be a starter came out the same time as our mains. It might be that they are understaffed but their service is bad and inconsistent. Forks and knives are dirty but the beer is alright…. I have no idea how this place is so highly rated. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Excellent lunch spot! Im from out of town, and I stumbled upon this restaurant by happens chance. What a find! With so many cookie cutter places, this place has an excellent mix of asian fusion and traditional american food. For lunch, I had the Stone Pot which had a nice combination of rice, veggies, spices, and egg which is similar to bibimbap. I sat down as a party of one, and after a few minutes I was graciously offered another seat which would help the restaurant accommodate additional guest. It was no big deal to me, but they offered me a free drink of my choice for any inconvenience.

I was not in the mood for any noodle soups, as I had pho the previous night.This was the best brunch decision I have ever made. Got the beef noodle soup for lunch and like many other previous eaters of it, I can also testify that it was excellent.It is similar to a pho but is actually a Thai dish. I used to come here a lot for lunch with my co workers, this is always my favorite place to recommend when friends visit sf. My favorite dish is angus beaf noodle soup and the stone pot. The beef noodle soup is consistently good, beef is super tender and soup is very flavorful! But I am recently really disappointed with the stone pot, not enough rice and meat, and the sauce is too sweet, just pure sugar sweet, we asked to add more rice but it doesn’t help with the flavor. Definitely not worth the $27 for the stone pot. Really really dissatisfied but will come back for the beef noodle soup.

I waited a few minutes in the front before one of them came up and we asked if they were opened and they snarkly replied yeah of course. Food was delicious! Went to try the Millionaire’s Bacon and we got the appetizer Millionaire’s Way. We thought it was to sample a small piece of each type of bacon they wanted, but turned out to just be one large piece. If we new we would have elected to get a different type of bacon aside from the original (since the dishes we ordered had the bacon on it)

Ive never been let down by Blackwood. Ive been here a few times already and everything Ive had here has been pretty amazing. The Green Curry is absolutely phenomenal. The samosas are super flaky and delicious and come with this creamy, cilantro/sweet and sour sauce that makes you sad that you only have three samosas. My last visit we started with the pork belly, which was also delicious, but I still recommend the samosas. I had the Marina Treasure, U-10 bacon wrapped scallops with grilled eggplant. Although the scallops were a little over-done, the meal, overall, was fantastic.The restaurant is dark and elegant with a high ceiling and mirrors running from top to bottom, which enhance the height of the ceiling making the small space feel quite open.If youre in the Marina and want delicious food, Blackwood should be one of your stops. With great service, great atmosphere and amazing food, this is one of my favorite places!

Blackwood is a very nice upscale Thai restaurant. The staff is very friendly. I arrived a little bit before happy hour was over and saw what people ordered. It was great to see that the happy hour portion was the same as the dinner menu. The food had great flavor. The salads are really good. Im coming back for the happy hour since they have $7 appetizers. It is more expensive than the average Thai restaurant, but the ambiance is romantic and great with a date.

Good place for a casual dinner. Menu has a good variety, dishes are very flavorful. Downside to me is that you will have trouble finding a truly healthy option, since they use a lot of oil and fat for flavor. If you dont mind fat in your diet though, this is a good choice. Service is quick and location is great.

At nearly $70 for a quick two-person brunch in a glorified diner (one dish each, shared starter, and coffee), I expect the quality to be uniformly good. This place always has a wait but it usually goes pretty fast and to be honest any good brunch place in the city is going to have a wait. I had the crab omelet which was amazing. The food is fresh, well presented and comes pretty quickly. I love bottomless mimosas, but the group I was with wasnt into a Sunday Funday that particular time. I would love to go back and enjoy the bottomless mimosas and something else from the menu. EVERYTHING looked so good! Its a somewhat small place so not ideal for large groups.

I have been here three times now- once for brunch and twice for dinner. The Stone Pot is my new go-to for both brunch and dinner- it is absolutely delicious! For brunch, they make delicious bloody Marys and also do bottomless mimosas which is obviously very popular. The staff is always friendly and very accommodating. You usually do not need a reservation- but if you are coming with a larger group I would stills suggest making one to ensure you dont have to wait.

We went to get brunch here after an event at Fort Mason a month ago. They serve Asian/American fusion brunch. Place is small but quaint, and theres also outdoor seating. The food is a bit more on the expensive side, but its delicious. Portion is pretty big, so it might be a good idea to share if youre not super hungry.I probably wont make a special trip to go here, but will definitely swing by whenever Im in the area.

We had brunch today and the service was excellent. The individual attention and rapid response to requests(coffee refill & water)was far above what we normally experience at busy brunch eateries. The food was disappointing. My dish(Thai shakshuka) had quality ingredients and perfectly cooked eggs. The problem was serious lack of seasoning, large slices of lemongrass in the sauce(which were very fibrous and overpowering) and although fresh tomato was used to make the sauce, the skins weren’t treated well. I had a lot of long strands of cooked tomato skins in my sauce. It was chewy & awkward to eat. We shared the popover with avocado & bacon. I stopped eating after 2 bites. The down side was the combination of a cinnamon popover filled with delicious avocado, bacon & tomato then topped off with powder sugar. For me, if it was a plain or cheese infused popover with bacon, avocado & tomato filling without sugar coated top, that would be a sensational winner. My husband had the eggs Benedict with fresh crab. He loved the flavor and quality fresh ingredients. His poached eggs were over very cooked and firm.This restaurant is obviously popular. The atmosphere is upscale but relaxed & friendly. It’s within walking distance from our hotel. I just wish I had better things to say about the food. I don’t plan to go back.

Rude staff. When they are busy, they pay no attention to customers. Not all orders arrived at the same time. There was a 20-minute lag between the first order and the last one which is not acceptable for a restaurant that charges $6 for a cup of tea. The food is okay but not worth the price. Much better restaurants are in walking distance in this area.

The calamari was by and far some of the best we have had anywhere. The plating was beautifully done but service was a bit slow to bring food out between plates. The main dishes we had were excellent the king salmon and curry. We kept asking for very spicy and had to ask for extra hot chilies to kick it up a notch, maybe we are just never satisfied with the heat levels but it all came out alright. The fried ice cream and french toast were also delicious. And the resturant had outside seating that allowed for us to bring our dog and had a water bowl available for the dog. Parking up and down the street is free on sundays and we were able to grab an open spot right across on a Sunday night.

Used to live in Marin and came here a few times around 2014. Was good then and I was happy to see it was still an excellent place to eat in the Marina now. Ive generally stuck with the more traditional Thai dishes, including the pad Thai and cumin noodles, and have never been disappointed. Glad to have a reliable spot in SF whenever Im in town.

We were able to wander around the local shops until we got a text that our table was ready. I Highly recommend the Dungeness crab omelette and deep fried French toast. Awesome brunch.

Great food and really great atmosphere. Doing this review mainly based on their brunch items. Basically any of their Eggs Benedicts are good, scrambles are good, and of course their most popular item, the Millionaires Bacon. Its a generous slab of bacon cooked with probably some brown sugar and spices to give it that sweet and salty and sticky texture, its fricking awesome. Prices are heavy tho if you just want a side of this prestigious pig fat, its about $8.00+ but definitely worth it to try if you havent already. They also have a great all-you-can-drink mimosas option. I do warn you though that they have a two hour limit on how many mimosas you can pound away (we were actually told that we couldnt order any more rounds...). The reason I wouldnt give this a 5 star rating is because theyre kind of advertised as a Thai Fusion place but their Thai food, for example their Street food such as Pad See Ew, is not really anything spectacular, in fact a King of Thai is tastier. However their Green Curry is pretty good. All in all though I would totally come back here, and already have several times. There is a parking structure a block and half from here on Pierce between Chestnut and Lombard.

Excellent breakfast. Their specialty bacon is interesting: thick and savoury, with a sweet curing. Fluffy eggs, tasty potatoes and fresh salad and fruits. Only drawback: the portions are HUGE. The decor of the place is interesting as well: lots of glass, high ceilings and a hint of brutalism. Last note: the service was PERFECT. Attentive, polite and very very quick. Well be back.

They serve the “to die for” Millionaire’s bacon! Super sweet, meaty sprinkled with some pepper flakes to give it just the right amount of fire. Came here for a Sunday brunch with the gals and had such a great time enjoying the weather on their front outdoor seating area. I ordered the Dungeness Crab Omelet and was pleasantly surprised on how tasty it was. This is the perfect brunch spot!
