So, I was in the area and needed to kill time. I’m glad I found the place. It’s super cute too. Whether solo, date night, with friends, etc. Anyway, if you follow me on here you know I’m a sucker for flavorful and CLEAN broth!I ordered the Oxtail pho, first time having it. And no regrets here. Came out piping HOT!!. The oxtails were meaty, tender, and falling off the bones! Lord. I ordered the #4, shrimp and chicken egg rolls. They were cool, but not my jam. All in all, 10 times outta 10, recommend.

Blossom is the best Pho and Vietnamese food in this area! So flavorful and a wide variety of dishes. Vegetarian options, as well. Amazing pho, egg rolls, and salads. I love to sit outside on a nice day at the picnic tables. And the staff are so nice.

I got “22. Bun Tom, Bo Nuong - Shrimp & Grilled Lemongrass Steak”. It was exactly what I wanted and had the flavors you’d expect (lemongrass etc.). I liked that the sauce was on the side and that payment was easy and fast (it’s through an app at the end, and 18% gratuity is included). The ambience was warming for dinner. The long community table inside was a bit odd to eat at since there’s a lot of stuff in the middle of it but overall I am satisfied and would return.

Terrible service, overpriced mediocre food. A mandatory 18% service charge is the biggest joke. Went in at 2:05 today and the waitress stopped me at the door - no greeting whatsoever, slapped the menu in my hand, and said you need to order right now. The kitchen is closing soon TWICE before I even could look at the menu. If the kitchen needs to close at 2:15, update your schedules posted online and train your staff better on how to provide decent service! A mandatory service charge isnt gonna solve your problem. It only drives customers away when the service is nonexistent.Its been a while since my last visit but totally reminded me why I stopped going. The last time I went with my family, the waitresses were so rude that we got up and left before finished ordering.I used to really like this place as it WAS one of the cleanest Vietnamese restaurants I had been to. Today it didnt even look that clean. Things are getting old and greasy. The service was so bad on the two visits after covid.Will not go back again.

Very frustrating experience. Ordered delivery and pho broth came COMPLETELY cold, along with raw beef/veggies/noodles. Delivery was very quick, so the food left the restaurant cold. Couldn’t eat it obviously, didn’t want food poisoning.

Shrimp and pork spring roll had a good ratio of lots of greens and not too much vermicelli rice noodles inside.Pho noodles were the perfect al dente texture without feeling gummy. Broth had great aroma but the flavor of the broth is more of a light, refreshing tasteOn the pricier side but not bad at all, considering there aren’t many options for Vietnamese food in West LA. They have beautiful indoor seating and several outdoor tables. Curious to try the other dishes in the future.

I was looking for some good Vietnamese noodle lunch in the weekend. With my wife, about twenty dollars for each is not much but I am sorry to tell you the food here is not to my standard and it is way too expensive for its value. Restaurant is comfortable both indoor and outdoor, service was good and friendly but they automatically adds 18% tips, that is greedy to me. It is unlikely we will come here again.

Average food significantly overpriced. The shock came when it turned out we had to pay an obligatory 18% tip that was added to the bill without our consent. Ive heard some upscale restaurants do that sometimes, but never have I come across a small sidewalk cafe do that.To the Management: I understand your restaurant is in an expensive area, but customers shouldnt be forced into paying an enforced 18% fee. Your prices on the menu are high enough as it is.

Ive eaten chicken pho here several times and unfortunately it doesnt get better. Pho broth should be made by slow simmering bones for hours with anise, cinnamon, onion, ginger, cloves, fish sauce, and more. When chilled, the broth should get gelatinous from the collagen and minerals extracted from low simmering bones. The broth here is just salty, possibly only cooked with onions and fish sauce. It does not get gelatinous when chilled. But the noodles and veggies seem good quality at least. The shrimp and imperial roll noodle salad is decent as the ingredients are fresh but there are no mint and other herbs. Prices are a little high but the ambiance is nice. Ill try other dishes and update my review as necessary.

Nice small welcoming Café. Lucky we came at 1pm after the busy lunchtime. Selection #23 was good - Noodle Salad with chã giò, grilled shrimp and lemongrass steak - though the strips of steak were more salty, well done than we expected, and we could not taste the lemon grass. The serving portions were a little small, so we walked over next door to Blossom & Friends for desserts. Next time we will try the bánh xèo, Vietnamese “crêpe” which might be more filling!

Avoid this place! Not sure how they manage to have 4.6 stars. Service is terrible. Two servers that seem to have zero idea what they are doing. Bring water with no cups, pho and no toppings, soups and no spoons. You have to flag them down for everything or get it yourself. They got our order wrong even after repeating it several times. If the food were any good I would be willing to overlook this, but its not. Pho had 3 small pieces of beef. Noodles were hard. On top of this there is an included service charge of 18% for literally the worst service I have had in a long time.

Generally speaking, as a Vietnamese, ld say this restaurant is just okay. The food and service are acceptable but the place is so small that everyone needs to sit on the street, even under the hot weather. Also, the price is overpriced I must say. Our family got a glass of iced tea for $4.25 which is the same price as coffee with condensed milk and lemonade. Then we asked for a refill, they never mentioned its not allowed but charged us for the second glass, so its $8.50. The last thing is the food price, can you imagine that you have to pay the meat and vegetable with the same price? Itd definitely be great if they sell products like that in market! Honestly, I think its kind of unreasonable to pay the same price for pork & shrimp banh xeo and vegan banh xeo which only has tofu and mushroom. We are 4 people but have to pay almost $100 for a breakfast.

My new favorite Vietnamese place. The pho is delicious and the broth has a rich almost buttery taste. I drank the whole broth after crushing the noodles and beef balls, that’s when you know it’s good. Highly recommend if you like pho!

Pho is good but this restaurant deceptively charges an obligatory tip of 18% on the bill under a fees and other charges description. At the end of their credit card payment process, they then ask for another tip. This is so wrong. Tips should be discretionary and not obligatory. And their service was average, at best. I had the Pho Tai rare steak. The broth was very heavy and oily, the noodles very soft due to high heat of the broth creating a bad taste in the mouth. I did not finish the meal due to its heavy oil content. Cha Gio was okay. When time came to pay the bill, I asked to see the bill, the waitress said, the bill will be provided after the credit card processes which automatically included 18% dinning fee. As far as I remember, tipping is discretionary not mandatory. The service was fair, provided by very young people who other than one, really did not want to be there. I would not recommend this restaurant for the food, and I do not think there should be an upfront charge of 18% with no prior notification to the customer.

Oh add to that a very medicre noodles.I am disappointed that this place sells this as vietnamese food. The pho beef was a little thick... not thin sliced, and I ended up leaving most of it. The pho noodles were great, however. The broth was just fine. This place used to be my absolute favorite Vietnamese in the area. But I believe they got new management or a new owner who change up some of the recipes as well as firing most of the great staff that worked there for now slow, rude staff. Blossom is my go-to place for my weekly pho habit. The broth is rich, fragrant and delicious...its made properly. The rolls are great too and they have a new crepe on the menu that is messy to eat, but totally worth it! Im also a celiac sufferer and they have always been very accommodating. Ive never had a reaction from eating here. Its usually pretty easy to find a seat even during the busiest times. I love this place!!

My partner and I had not had a good meal in a few days because we are on the road, but this hit the spot perfectly. I had the rare steak and beef ball pho, and my partner had the chicken pho, it was amazing. We regretted not ordering the braised pork belly because it sounds absolutely delicious. Cafeteria style seating but it’s homely and clean. The combination pho was excellent and the servers were very attentive. You’ll find the final price is about 28% (tax and gratuity) more than on the menu because of the variable gratuity rate. But $15 for a sit down meal in Santa Monica shouldn’t make you sweat.My advice: Come during off hours to park right on the street. After 8pm is ideal. Make eye contact with the waiter before being seated. If you stand up they will know you wish to be helped. Use the lime to spritz your veggies before dumping em in the soup. Food is very good but very pricey. The prices have gone up even more recently. Service is so so, they seem to have new servers everytime I go that need help and youll automatically be charged 18% for it on your bill. There is one large common table which is fine until someone sits across from you with an obvious cold or flu, coughing and sneezing. Ive found myself leaving mid-meal because of this. I do go back for the food quality only because its a block from my house and try not to go when its busy and more likely to have someone sitting uncomfortably close.There are outside busy sidewalk tables without heaters so not good when its cold out.

The food is good and the atmosphere is fun and casual. Its a bit distracting as you are immersed in other peoples conversations due to the communal seating arrangement. My biggest issue was that it was cold the night I went and it was not much warmer in the restaurant than outside. I kept my jacket on throughout the whole meal. It’s technically their fault for not accepting payment yet just tells me too bad, cancel order..? They wasted my time, put me off in rude way like my time isn’t important. They should have called me or told me on the phone that they only accept cash. Telling me to go back home to get cash or cancel the order is bit rude for me. Not an ounce of apologetic tone either. Mostly annoyed attitude. Used to go here often cuz owner is nice. But they need to train there server.

My wife ordered from this restaurant after a long flight. She was looking forward to some nice Pho and choose this based on reviews online. They said the delivery would be 40 minutes. When the food arrived it was ice cold. Worse, the meat was raw and could not possible be cooked in the broth. Staying a hotel (in the days of Covid) there was no way to heat it. Turned out to be a waste of time and food. Very poor performance for expensive Pho - $40. It was near closing time so our theory is that someone got lazy and did not bother to serve hot broth.

Usually i really enjoy the food here, but the new staff they have is utterly rude. The staff ignored us as we waited in the cold. We saw two free tables so we sat to wait (no sign that says otherwise). The waitress comes up to us then shouts with an attitude “you can’t sit there!!” We get up and she says “you need to write your name down.” She then rushes back inside and points to a post it. We write our name down then she calls us next in an odd hurry. A woman pulls up to the curb in a vehicle and asks if I can call the waitress for her. I tell the waitress that the woman wants to ask her something, but the waitress gives the woman such a rude attitude tells her she’s really busy and walks back in. Horribly managed. Horrible service.

Tasty!The Imperial Rolls & Grilled Lemongrass Steak (one of the Buns folks mention in other reviews) is a near perfect lunch/dinner bowl with thin and tender sheets of beef, warm fried rolls on a bed of thin springy rice noodles, cool greens, fresh herbs and bean sprouts (which I leave out). Theres a little dollop of carrot/daikon/peanuts in there too. The rolls are warm and crispy and moist. The fish sauce is light and sweet and sour and critical to bring it all together.Theyve got family style seating (like A-Frame).The prices are surprisingly low (in the $11 range for mains).If I would change anything it would be to cut up the steak into bite size pieces, ripping apart the steak with chopsticks isnt easy.Just what the neighborhood needed!

BLOSSOM is the second great Vietnames restaurant here in Santa Monica, Bowl Kitchen being the other.The food is great. Last night we called an ordered some pho for takeout. Taking out soup is always difficult, and the complexity of pho presents a challenge. Got home and there were all of the components--piping hot broth, noodles, sprouts, scallions, hot chili, hoisin, sriaracha...and a twig of fresh mint leaves!BTW, a bowl of hot pho was great on the hot humid days I spent in Vietnam. Hot soup is not for cold winter days only.
