Blue Elephant Thai Cuisine in Port Hueneme

This restaurant was sold during Covid, so the entire staff is different and the menu items changed. The first thing I noticed was that their chef began adding too much basil. Basil is delicious, but its off putting now because there is just so much and its in so many menu items. Also, their Spicy Peanut Chicken just isnt as good as it was before. We were regulars when Mama was there. Yes, I always called her Mama. lol! However we dont order as often as we used to. Luckily my husbands favorite dish isnt affected and he has taste problems so he cant taste the extra basil, so he still loves the restaurant.

Food is extremely delicious. Won tons are so far the best I have ever had. The inside of the wontons are extremely flavored. If you like spicy food, due try the Thai chilies hot sauce.Best Thai Food place in Oxnard! Sticky rice was perfect. The curry had so much flavor. I’ll be back!

STOP!If you are seeing this you need to come in and try anything and I mean anything on their menu and I promise itll be the BEST Thai food youve had in a long time! The staff was friendly attentive and the food came out really fast. It was a wonderful experience.The Thai tea was perfect. The right amount of sweetness and creaminess to help the tea shine.The wor wok wonton soup was full of wonderful flavor i asked for some spicy on the side and the spicy Chilli fish sauce add exactly the right amount of spice. Carefully no to get a pepper slide directly. HahaFried shrimp appetizer was crispy hot and delicious with or without the sauce.BEST. PAD. THAI. EVER. I said it and mean it! If you love pad Thai this is the place for you. It was perfect cooked. You can taste it was tossed in a walk by how the sauce taste compared to everywhere else. I will be returning for this asap.

I enjoyed my 1st meal here. The staff was very prompt and friendly. I wanted to try a curry that was different from the yellow one. The waiter suggested the panang chicken curry which was delicious. The bowls looked small but held a lot. I had enough for a 2nd meal. I will be back to try the lunch specials during weekdays!

Authentic, home-feel, flavorful, good portions, and competitive pricing. I typically get the chicken larb salad and yellow curry with vegetables. This small business has has served this community for decades.

If you love Thai food. And you haven’t been here. Let’s just say it’s heaven. The flavors are delicious. The people are amazing. Oh and they remembered me from my last visit 3 months ago. (I do not live here). Love BLUE ELEPHANT!

The food here is amazing. A little pricy for Thai food but the taste justifies the price. Parking is very limited. The lemongrass soup is divine. Its sweet and the spicy but not too spicy. You cant get enough of it. The fried rice is very delicious too. Never beem dry or overcooked. We have come here quite a bit since moving into the area. Must go to if you are a fan of Thai food.

Great little Thai place, wish they would use more alternatives to plastic though!The single use plastic bags, curry/soup containers, cutlery and sauces is a little excessive. The container for the curry/soup is understandable but the others could be changed!Otherwise their food is great.

This place is lovely and the owner treated us really nice. The food was a blast despite its price. It wont disappoint you and this is possibly the best thai food Ive ever had in US.

Good standard Thai food. Had the lunch special Pad See U, broccoli was cooked perfectly to bright green. Sauce was tasty. Lunch soup is a bit boring but took the edge off hunger and the egg roll a bit thick of dough and not much filling. The place is a bit dated. Again good basic place to eat.
