This is more like a PREview Review, I stopped by for a quick try to see if its worth giving it a real meal tester. Today I was in a hurry after work and feeling hungry. I had 11 minutes before my bus was to pass. I saw this Sushi restaurant and said to myself A Mizo soup is the perfect quick option. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised with no wait to order. I asked the cashier how long a wait would be for a California Roll and a Mizo soup. she courteously replied no more than 5 minutes. I decided to try the Mizo soup and a California Roll. The cashier wasnt mistaken, my order took less than 5 minutes and I was on my way. I had to try the Mizo Soup while I waited for my bus, and with my first sip I knew I had made a good decision to check out the Blue Fish Restaurant. The soup was steaming hot, with a great mizo flavor and sufficient amount of Tofu. I shared the California Roll with my husband and we both enjoyed it. It had the good crab salad to avocado ratio. The rice wasnt too much or too little. Overall todays quick tasting ensured me that its worth a real meal test.
I have to say this was my first time and the food here was awesome! The price is pretty average but food quality is over the roof! The food variety here is outstanding. Sushi places around South Gate/Lynwood usually just have rolls but this place has nigiris,sushi rolls,ramen and many other things. The decorations really made it a serene place to be, it’s pretty small but not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon
I order my food through the Door Dash app from here. The food is fantastic and delish 😋 highly recommend!
Good food! I got the Grilled Salmon Bento Box and it was really good! Salmon was cooked right, California rolls were good aswell. Will be bringing my wife to try this spot out!
This is my 5th time ordering from Blue Fish Sushi in 2 weeks! Im addicted! The gyozas are crunchy and light. Not only is the fish fresh, delicious and reasonably priced, their customer service rocks! My new favorite local salmon sushi location Thank you for my amazing lunch!

Let me tell you. I went today to Blue Fish. I placed the order at 4:14pm 2 soups, 2 ca rolls, dragon roll and caterpillar roll. Took 35 minutes to get my order. Even people after me who were eating in got the order first. I ask the cashier why so long? She said because i ordered too many rolls🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. Only 4 orders and they take 30min +. Food is ok. Rolls too small and soup tasteless. For sure....i am not going back.
I like that they have improved their phone orders. I think most of their business is to go now. The food is good, seems fresh. Prices have gone up for everything (probably because of inflation). I got the chicken bento box, I would recommend especially if youre dining in.

Food is good hear but there service is not unfortunately. I placed an order by phone for pick up they told me 15-20 mins which is understandable. I arrived at the location paid for my food and waited. After about an additional 20min at the location I asked about my order they told me they were working on it so i kept waiting. I saw an order sitting in the back this whole time after more 10 mins they told my order is ready. It was not my order they were giving me the wrong order this whole time the order that was sitting in the back was mine. I checked my phone at the time when I placed the order till the time I left it was one hour I ended up asking for a refund. I will not be returning 😔 they have lost a customer
God I donr even know where to start, I used to spend more money on shushi before know about this place is a Korean restauran on Korea Town of course is also good but maaan this sushi has no competence, fresh fish, good products awesome costumer sevice cashiers are always so nice and respecful... BlueFish people arr gonna see me coming often...love this place
The food was good and affordable, its a small place with only 4 tables inside but when its not busy its a chill place to eat and they got great tunes playing all the time. No fountain drinks only cans and bottles. The chicken was very tender and the teriyaki sauce not too salty or sweet just perfect. The sushi was fresh as well but they didnt cut all the way through so it was still stuck together and made my rolls fall apart but they were delicious nonetheless.
You’re better off going downtown or Downey. Seems they have zero consideration for your time. They take 2 hours. Lose your orders. Make you feel as you made a mistake. Not worth the aggravation. They obviously don’t need our business since they’re always packed with people waiting. My family will no longer be supporting Blue Fish.

The sushi is okay, but the wait is insane. I ordered three items and waited 55 minutes. The kitchen is in full view which is nice…except it means you get to see how slowly the staff work. Unless you order ahead and are not too hungry, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
I got really sick after eating Spicy miso soup
The sushi is nice and fresh and delicious. I ordered the spicy tuna, California, and lobster rolls and they were all delicious. The only downside here is that it took forever for the food to be ready. I waited at least 30 minutes for it to be ready; meanwhile they were currently out phone order after phone order. So I recommend you call and place a phone order that way you can wait at home while its being made and then just pick it up or order delivery though a delivery app. That what I will do next time. The staff was friendly and there is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. The little pick up window outside is a nice little touch.
Best sushi in South Gate!
Its a small spot. Feels kinda like a hole in the wall kind of shop. But its clean and nice inside. The food is very good. I eat sushi around twice a month from a lot of different places. The food here was very very good. I recommend the rainbow roll. The rolls are a little bit more expensive than what you would expect about 9/ roll. And they dont have a lot in the way of smaller plates only the tuna rolls and California rolls for about 4-5 bucks each. But the food was good. I wish it had been a little cheaper as far as the price point but it was very yummy. I would definitely come back if Im in the area.

Ok food, ramen meat was not authentic seems like they added chopped teriyaki meat. No utensils for online order, guess I have to order that too. Sad looking 12 pcs sashimi.
Overall, the flavor of the sushi was bland. The crunchy roll had no crunch and the rice was too dry that it had trouble holding its shape. The fish was fresh but, the quality of the fish is just ok. Comparing to sushi restaurants of the same price range, the price is too high for what you get and would not go back again.
Placed delivery at 4:56pm, got it until 6:47pm. Salad was rancid on teriyaki bowl, nasty. Sushi is the worst ever, they really dont have knowledge of sushi cuisine. Lastly, we did not get sticks or soy sauce, that should at least be included. Called restuarant, big mistake! Person literally wanted to argue over the phone, not worth it.Done with this place for good, there loss, and please dont even attempt to go there....Zero/0 star rating....
Been waiting for over an hour. The food is good but to wait that long when there is only two people ahead is unacceptable. But to mention they had around 6 people on staff for them to take this long for food. It would have been easy to go somewhere else where I know the wait is going to be worth it then right here. Not to mention we came for a quick snack pick up but now we know not to come back here for any future reference.
Over-priced, sub par food. Its so unfortunate this is one of the very few places in HP that serve sushi. The wait time is also crazy. Expect for a minimum 30 minute wait.

Horrible experience, we ordered 2 party platers ordered at 3:30pm. They gave us an estimate time of 6pm. We got there at 550pm for pick up and they gave us the order at 725pm and their excuse was we apologize but we were busy. So u mean to tell me you couldnt prioritize our order based on first come first serve? Wow. Never giving them my business again!
My first time coming to this establishment and I was extremely pleased! The staff is so friendly and the vibes this place gives off is so chill. The food was amazing! I ordered spicy crunch roll, dragon roll, and caterpillar roll. The presentation of the food is gorgeous (perfect for instagramming). I usually go far into DTLA for my sushi but this place is my new go to. Prices are great for quantity and quality of food. Everything is very clean and homey. Their menu is more than just sushi and even have delicious deserts (mochi ice cream!!) would definitely come back and recommend to anybody looking for some good sushi (local or not!)
Honestly, i was looking forward to their ramen but it was no Bueno. They gave me udon noodles and they were so starchy and overcooked. They were stuck together and falling apart when I tried to separate them. Didnt even eat it. Waste of money when it came to the ramen. On the other hand their sushi was good.

Service not good at all, the girl with the blue hair was very rude to many customers and constantly served the register and also touched food without washing her hands or even putting on gloves, management needs to teach better customer skills and proper hygiene. Wait time was over an hour, totally unacceptable. Will not be coming back
Really good. Took a bit long to get food so reccomend calling ahead. Inside the restaurant they have very well laid out social distancing barriers where you can stand while you wait for your food. And several hand sanitizers for customers to use.
Thought Id give this place a try since its in my neighborhood. Worst sushi Ive ever had. Cheap for a reason, no flavor, bland, over cooked rice, I could make better sushi at home...definitely not worth the time ended up throwing it away.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is very relaxing and welcoming, you can walk in and the first thing you will notice is the cleanliness and decor of the place.Now, if you want to rate the food, you can start with the prices. Ive been to many Japanese restaurants and i have paid an average of 60 to 70 dollars for my companion and I eating just enough to get satisfied.At Blue Fish, I paid about 45 dollars for boths me and my GF and we got four rolls, a salad, and something. I havent seen in another places, their drinks. Blue tea they call it.That was impressive quality for the price.On the down side.. It did take a bit of time to get our order but good things are not made in a hurry..I guess, we should have called ahead since they have that service but we were not dissapointed.Would I recommend Blue Fish? Yes.Clean, tasty, and not too bad on your wallet.5 stars.
Waited for my food about 1 hour once we got most of our food I didnt get my roll until after my wife and kids were finished eating I took it to go because I lost my appetite and just wanted to get out of there First and Last time I come here. To top it off its way over priced for the food quality
My rice is dry, they don’t know how to wrap the sushi properly so it doesn’t fall apart. The wasabi was crushed into the side of my rolls. Seriously ? I mean I know we’re in the hood but y’all need better chefs who actually know HOW TO MAKE sushi .
Sushi is good quality. Bento boxes are big and offer a nice variety. The sitting area is small, which could be cozy and relaxing if it didnt echo whenever someone got too loud or a child screamed.
This place takes way to long to prepare your food. Priority is given to uber eats, I waited almost an hour for my food. I ordered at 6:30, and I am putting this review in right now at 7:30. The place wasnt packed.
This place used to be called the hungry samurai before blue fish took over the food is over priced and very bland. I order the most basic stuff one California roll and a chicken teriyaki bowl Im so disappointed that I even went there. I read the other reviews on Google who is giving this place 4 stars you cant be serious. Im only giving it 2 stars because they upgrade it the place and looks much nicer but the food is not good the California roll was so bad chicken teriyaki bowl was so bland and tasteless.I should have gone to my usual place terikaky house well live and learn. Quality sushi has finally arrived to Huntington Park!Salute to the chef. The sashimi was well cut, the sushi was fresh, portions are fair, customer service was helpful and answered all our questions and the the wait time was under 15 minutes for a fairly large order. You will not be dissapointed!

2023-11-03 02:44:59I love coming in here after a long day of work and not in a cooking mood.Their miso soup is delicious. Favorite plate is their chicken bento box, a little bit of everything. Would love more salad dressing.Place is clean, good customer service and never need to wait.

2021-01-12 06:18:54This sushi restaurant is a great, affordable place to eat sushi. I am very grateful that there is a sushi restaurant in Huntington Park. I have ordered the California roll, Salmon roll, tuna lover, Spider Roll, and the Rainbow roll. So far the Tuna Lover has been my favorite dish. The food can be a little messy sometimes but the taste is still great. I tasted their Spicy Miso Ramen and it is delicious but they should separate the noodles from the rest of the soup. It would prevent the noodles from overlooking by the time I get home.

2022-03-16 01:22:41I ordered the chicken bento box for lunch. It was a 8/10 the food was pretty good the chicken was kinda dry but the sauce made up for it. The rolls were a bit messy but the raito of rice filling and avacodo were perfect. The costumer service was pretty great. My food did take a while for me to revive but I didnt really mind as they had music playing in the background and I enjoyed watching the sushi being made. The environment was pretty calming and relaxing. My overall experience was great I would come again.

Recommended by my mother who I dearly love, I had big expectations for this place but was shocked to see and experience unsatisfying quality and taste. It was decent but the California and caterpillar sushi was dry; very little filling also. Along so for Chicken teriyaki plate; the chicken was dry and flavorless.it did not seem fresh. You know when chicken is fresh when it doesnt have dark brown spots and isnt hard to chew on. It was dry and very small portion for what you pay. I overheard a ask another person whats recommended here? And the other person said Everything, its delicious. when dining there but I couldnt agree with that statement and opinion. I dont recommend this place.

2021-02-01 20:20:00This place was highly recommended but ended up being such a disappointment. I ordered something simple, spicy sushi roll and a vegetable bowl. The spicy tuna roll seemed like they just rushed it together, it did not look like a roll. Tuna was not even inside the rice. As for the vegetable bowl, the carrots were very dry and the broccoli came with a piece of aluminum wire.

2020-10-05 05:18:06I really enjoyed the food though 2 things one. the regular sushi rolls were sloppy and two. the fried wanton ice cream sat on top of the sushi rolls so they warmed up. I got the crunchy roll and California roll special. The wanton fried ice cream was delicious but once it got soggy was a little chewy but still A1. Overall would order again.

We dont have that. And I said gime 3 ord. Of shirimp and tempura. And xta. side ord. Shirimp &Tempura and tuna shimi and sushi. And he gave me wrong ord. Just sashimi. But it self.And I ask for miso soup and he forgoet to put into the ord. Hih! And 3 come and orange and greatfruit drink. And he notveven do said hi or welcome etc.

2019-07-23 15:54:06We discover this cool, delicious place in the border of (State st)..📍Huntington park & South Gate . .🐟Called @bluefish_la ..They have @grubhub 🛑..and let me tell you is the best thing ive ever tasted in sushi around town but my favorite was this first on in the video I’m not sure how it’s called my husband ordered now I depend on him for next time we go lol 😂, any way. Talking to the associate she told us a short story about the restaurant and she told me that it was own by a Japanese men who happen to be retired and maybe on his 90’s and. Just enjoying life away from LA, so he sold it to, two brothers that happens to be chef 👨🍳 👨🍳 and now operate the kitchen with everyone else. Everything was beautiful decorated they had digital menu and printed as well I enjoyed every second of my stay the music was according to the theme and the drawing omg I was amazed by them anyway I loved this place and definitely will be visiting soon !
