Blue Ocean Harumama in La Jolla

I was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful this location is, both inside and out. The restaurant decor was elegant beachy, if that’s a thing, haha! The menu had so many great options from mocktails, small bites, ramen, to sushi and so much more, there’s literally something for everyone.To start I tried one of their passion fruit “refreshers”, which apparently has rotating flavors. The drink was so pretty and taste fantastic! I’d definitely reorder!For food we sampled a few things:1) Fried rice: this dish was average and lacking flavor in my opinion2) Steamed veggie potstickers: these were great and had a nice presentation3) Vegetable pan-fried noodles: full of flavor and craveable4) Hotty Hotty roll: this roll delivered on what it promised, however it didn’t wow meOverall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Great place for amazing food, great views and nice vibes. They did not miss on a single dish. The edamame was fantastic, the padres roll was incredible, the sashimi was great, their California rolls (which I’m a very basic person and love California rolls) were unlike any I’ve had anywhere, absolutely delicious. To top it off, we had their Buns which are so cute but taste even better than they look 👌The overall environment of the restaurant is fastastic and service was great. Highly recommend a window seat, the sunset view is spectacular and you can actually see the sea lions down below from there. Might be an extra wait for a window seat but truly worth it.

Went there on Saturday before rush 11:30am for seaside table.. $15 Valet parking in front of restaurant to make it easier. OMG, character buns are cute and yummy. Dont wait too long to eat it. Will be back soon for another mother and daughter day.

We ate lunch here while traveling to SD on a vacation, so I don’t have a great point of reference for similar restaurants in the area. That being said, we LOVED Harumama! This location in particular has amazing views of the ocean, since you’re right on the coast. Ask for a window seat for sure! Our bao buns were fresh, hot, and tasty. We also tried a few sushi dishes, which were equally amazing. Highly recommend.

We came on Sunday around noon time. No wait time for seating with no view but 1 hr wait time for seatings with ocean view.We ordered ramen, character buns, fried rice and pork belly bao bun. All the food is delicious. The only thing is that serving is quite slow.

An amazing place with awesome ambiance and view. The food was delicious. Every menu item ordered was crafted to perfection. The shrimp and sushi was flavorful and authentic. Definitely a must visit.

Good food for a locals sushi spot, but not the destination spot I was hoping for. Sushi rolls were typical for So Cal. Ramen was good and very flavorful, the little animal buns were the highlight.Unfortunately, the service was pretty slow, and tables sat unbussed next to us for 20 plus minutes.

Went there for lunch and their lunch specials are very good! For $24 you can get 4 pieces of nigiri and a sushi roll. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. For $16 you get a bowl of ramen and a side. I got the fatty duck ramen which was very rich and savory.The side I got was recommended by a friend: vegetable pot stickers. Very unique and the best thing we ate there. Theyre a cool green color and have crunchy taro and microgreens on top. And that sauce is so good that we drank it from the bowl.

The service and the food are great. Their portions are good. What i didnt like was that they added a 20% gratitude on a party of 6, and they do not tell you about it until they bring you the bill. I get it, 20% is normal, but what if your service is not good, you are stuck with it anyways.
