I was told by a friend to try this pizzeria. Out of the few local pizzerias in the San Leandro area that Ive tried, Bluebird didnt disappoint. Love the pizza sauce. Lots of selections and love the variety of half and half pizzas. If you or a child have a dairy allergy, they have a no cheese pizza that was really good, you can even add toppings to it.

I had the worse experience here, I wanted to order 2 pizzas when I was told by the cashier that they only had one dough left for 1 pizza which was okay. Other than them taking a long time to serve us, another customer walked in and ordered a pizza and they were told the same thing. Which was wrong because we were the only Latinos there it was my son birthday. We told the cashier that it wasn’t fair we were a party of 5 and were only able to purchase one pizza. I am tired of walking into restaurants and being treated different because I’m Latino. After that customers that seem to be regulars kept coming in and being served pizza when there was no more dough, that doesn’t make sense.

A hidden gem in East Bay. Just the way a pizzeria should be. Great and courteous staff and the pizza were amazing! We did a half and half margherita and Greek pizza which both hit the spot.Id highly recommend the cheese and pepperoni pizza slices on the go or just to savor while they bake your pie.Id definitely go back to try out the grand Ma pie!Shout out the staff who were constantly taking phone orders but also ensuring all the dine in customers were taken care of so well!

Such good thin crust pizza! I haven’t tried it but they have a gluten free crust option too. I would drive out of my way for this pizza but luckily it’s not far from where I live. Street parking but I haven’t had problems finding a spot whenever I go. The staff is always accommodating and friendly.

Its a family affair...Fran and Ray Jr. sling the killer slices and pies while Ray Sr. pours the brews.... This joynt serves up the best NY pizza on the West Coast. It is the real deal and it is served with good old East Coast wise crackin.I love to go to Bluebird and watch a game, drink a hand crafted cold one on tap, and enjoy a slice. I love sharing a table with other folks as it always ends up in great conversation and fun times.I love the kids corner...books, puzzles, and games for the kids and family.

I’m from the east coast and had basically concluded that you couldn’t get a good slice in California until I discovered Bluebird. The crust is crispy yet chewy. The best part is that they don’t overdo the toppings. The ratio is just right so the bottom doesn’t get soggy. We also love the friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Fran knows all her customers and is very welcoming. We’ve become regulars and have met or gotten to know more of our neighbors through our visits to the Bluebird.

I didnt get in the Elite Yelp Event here. Its been 6 months and an agonizing wait to try the Bluebird Pizza.Leave it to Covid-19 for me to finally order for take out. It wasnt that easy to use the online system. I know Im technically challenged, but it took me forever. Thank goodness Square handles the payment.I was hoping for a true NY style pizza. The thin crust is close however, it aint Brooklyn. My Sausage and Mushroom was good and definitely three stars. Now Kellie Grrrl kicked it up a notch to five stars!The white sauced Kellie Grrrl topped with Mushrooms, Green Olives, and Calabrian Chili is fire! Had to look up what Calabrian Chili was. The pie was nice and spicy. The delicious white sauce cooled it down for me.

A modest mom and pop pizza place with legit pizza.Their claim to have authentic New York City style thin crust pizza is true.The owner is from New Jersey, close enough 😁They have fast and friendly service, TVs to watch sports, kid friendly activities, lots of drink options. Somewhat on the small side, but easy to park around there.

I had been meaning to try Bluebird Pizzeria for... Forever. Working in the Dro and living in Oakland makes it tough to make a jaunt up into downtown San Leandro, yknow? Im glad I finally did though! The Italian inspired toppings were delicious, the red and white sauces both extremely tasty and well paired with the rest of the pizza, and the crust a pleasant combination of both structurally sound and delicious- no mere tool for transporting those toppings from the pizza box to my gullet.On this outing my wife and I shared a Kellie Grrrl and The Boss. They have me looking forward to coming back and trying Grandmas pie and a few other things (like the connoli! They looked delicious behind the counter!). I think I might have found my new pizza spot!

This pizza place is wonderful. Their gluten free veggie pizza is delicious! Their staff is very friendly. Don’t let the whole in the wall vibe fool you, it is by far one of the best pizza spots, I’ve ever been too and have been going there for over 2 years. I drive all the way from Sonoma county which is 60 miles for this pizza. I usually don’t eat a whole lot, but i could finish the entire box easily without sharing, just of how exquisite the taste is!

Recently moved into the area, and my neighbors raved about Bluebird pizzeria, therefore had to try it. It definitely did not disappoint! I tried Bluebird a few years ago and was underwhelmed. I decided to give it another shot because of all the positive reviews and thought it was absolutely delicious. Maybe they were just having an off night or maybe I ordered the wrong thing. But tonights pizza is great. The crust is very nice and the tomato sauce is quite flavorful. Overall it tastes like they use really good ingredients. Will order again.

Call in your order early and take the pickup time they give you, graciously. We order the NY Combo and the White, but weve never been unhappy with anything weve had.Best pizza in town.

Bluebird has some of the best pizza in Northern California. We have been coming here about three years. They provide a New York style pizza with a thin crust. They have flavorful toppings and a great sauce. This is the best NY style pizza I have had outside of New York. There is limited seating in the restaurant. You may want to get the pizza to go. We have had their pizza delivered through Door Dash.

One of my favorite local pizza places! You can tell that this place is run by a family that really takes pride in putting out a great pie. The crust is really nice and has the perfect bite. The toppings are all top notch/high quality. Only downside is that the place is small and sometimes you may have to wait awhile for your pizza. But I promise it’s worth the wait! 9 out of 10 times if we’re hungry and in/around San Leandro it’s Bluebirds!

Theres no pizza around like Frans! Thin but wonderfully flavorful crust, and carefully chosen toppings. This isnt your typical floppy, greasy, cheese-laden pizza. The crust is crisp but chewy, the sauce and cheese are enough to impart their flavors without overwhelming the other toppings. I will say its not for everyone, because some people do prefer the kind of pizza thats 90% cheese lol, but Bluebird pizza is more of an experience. I recommend scrutinizing the menu, and adding or removing a topping to suit your personal preferences. My only wish for this place is that it would be open every day!

The pizza is bomb! I ordered the BBQ Chicken and a veggie. Both were delicious! The person who took my order was patient as I wasn’t looking at the menu. The guy at the over carefully made sure my pizza was perfect.The owner yelled and threw a tantrum on my first visit. It wasn’t fun to watch, but maybe her personality is part of the charm.

I think the location is ideal. They were certainly busy! In-door dining had just reopened and although they technically had only 2 booths open for seating, there were way too many people inside waiting for orders and standing too close to us. Plus, someone came in for a pickup and rather than wait outside, she and her child sat in the next booth that was supposed to be closed. Overall, not a comfy situation. Apparently someone didnt show up for work and/or they were slammed, because the person making the pizzas was really mad at some of the kids working there. She was hurling obscenities left and right at the top of her lungs. Hummm... not a good first impression. As for the pizza, I thought is was good, not great. Swimming in grease. Some people like that but not my favorite. (Full Pepperoni, with half mushroom and jalapeno). You could tell the pizza maker was mad...it showed up on her unhappy food. Maybe well give it another try.

Great pizza! Easily better than other pizza chains in the area like round table, pizza hut, little Caesers, mountain Mikes. Probably because they are not a chain. If I had to think of a negative the only one would be their hours of operation. I recommend calling ahead and its a little tough to find parking but I cant fault them for being deservingly popular. So much perfect goodness! The crust is crispy and thin, without being a rock hard cracker or even to crumbly. The sauce is a perfect amount to not make a sloppy mess and still be perfectly succulent and perfectly herbed and flavorful. A free addition of garlic makes it delectable and a bit naughtily spicy. And just the right amount of cheese so it balances the crust and sauce. Veggie is our favorite with the addition of pepadews and said garlic. Weve eaten here twice in 2 weeks and I have a feeling well see you next week as well!

This is nicely decorated and very open. Service is pretty fast as well. I had two whole pies and two slices to try and cannolis for dessert. The grandma slice was very good right crisp taste and texture. Pepperoni slice was very good as well. Had the white pizza and BBQ chicken pizza pies. The white pizza was amazing. The sauce the flavours everything was there. BBQ chicken did not do it for me. I thought that all I could taste was the BBQ sauce and I understand that the point. White pizza and grandma slice ruled them all. It was this night I realized I did not like cannolis. They were done well and the plain was actually the best among the three but cannolis just dont do it for me. Still a great place one of the best pizza joints I have seen in awhile.

I never really liked NY style pizza, usually go to Round Table, Porkies, or Zacharys for my pizza fix, but after trying Bluebirds Im in love.Ive gone back with my friends and theyve fallen for it too.They do crust REALLY good, their pizzas are hella good. This is our go-to pizza spot for San Leandro. The pizza is NY style (the way I like to eat my pizza). They have an absolutely incredible four cheese pie, thats our favorite. They sell beer on tap or bottled, including our favorite local brand Drakes, and specialty bottled sodas. They also have cannolis here! I usually get a Bundaberg ginger beer with my pie.

Ill get right to the point with this one.First timers here and they get our first pie (pizza) like completely opposite of what we ordered lol . I ordered a large with half pepperoni and pineapple and the other half just pineapple and when I got it it had pepperoni jalapeños and pineapple .LOL. Its all good they were hella cool about it, they made us the correct one and were very nice our whole visit. Overall the pie pizza has a unique flavor . Its super greasy which can be a good thing or bad thing depending on the person .
