We have decided to no longer patronize this business due to absolute horrible customer service experienced EVERY time weve frequented here this year. The service here has never been more than acceptable but over the last 7-8 months it has become a joke. The food is good but their dismal service has made this place somewhere we will avoid in the future.

The food was great but the service was rather lackluster, which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. During the time we were there it wasn’t all that busy yet we barely saw our waitress. Waited a while just to get a refill on my drink and when I tried to order desert. Again, the food itself is great. The service is hit or miss though.

Wow! This place had both great food and great service! My wife got the ravioli and I got the teriyaki chicken bento box. Both were excellent - the chicken was especially tender and the Japanese salad was fresh and crisp. Our waitress, Maria, did a wonderful job making sure we were well taken of. Plus the menu is rather large - there were so many selections that sounded good it was hard to choose; well definitely go back.

Party of 5 adults and two infants. We got there on time for our reservation. Food took over an hour to get delivered to the table, one dish wrong, which we were charged for. We had ordered sushi, and asked how long to get more dishes, we were told over 30 minutes. We left hungry, and with some bad excuses from the owner. Last time we visit

When you read Grill and Sushi, you think yakitori, but its more like the Daily Grill. Its the only place Ive ever been served bread rolls before my sushi! Everything was tasty though. We got sushi only with the exception of bow tie pasta for our baby. Kind and attentive wait staff as well.

Wow this was awful. Tiny portions, everything soaked in sugary sauce with no flavor. My dinner salad had exactly one cherry tomato cut in half, four slivers of cucumber, a thumbnail size of bleu cheese, and about an eighth of a slice of bacon. Couldn’t even eat the chicken lettuce wrap because the sauce was overwhelmingly sweet.

First time there. We sat outside, very nice. Our server seemed nice but she had forgot to bring our two miso soups we ordered, our appetizer arrived but the soups never came. My husbands dinner shrimp and angel hair came..which he enjoyed! ..my tak roll came almost 15 minutes later...he hated to eat without me getting my dinner..but I didnt want his to get cold. Food was really good Just wish the dinners came out closer at the same time...😐

Service was great. Very attentive.Ordered the Calamari as an appetizer but it wasn’t as fried as most restaurants do. So it was a little soft. I didn’t notice the menu says it’s lightly fried. I feel it needed to be cooked more to be more tasty.The Sushi was good. We tried different types.One called C2 was good since it had lobster, shrimp & avocado.I highly recommend their Marinated Salmon.It’s very delicious & cooked to perfection.

Fresh, delicious!Because our first visit was so awesome we went back the very next day. The great server we had the first day greeted us but was just finishing his shift we got this blonde girl who was horrible couldnt find her didnt fill our drinks another customer kept having to get up and look for her. There were only two tables she was working and she was in the back doing something and was not doing her job. food was still delicious and would go back but would not want her to be our server.

Really good sushi. Was skeptical at first when it is advertised as sushi and grille, wondering how well they can really do sushi. Very pleased, especially with the rice-less roll options. Most places only have 1 or 2 options, here they have 6! All really good. Definitely recommend eating here and will be back.

When you find a sushi chef you love, you follow them wherever they go. Thats how I discovered Bluefin. One of our favorite sushi bars in the Thousand Oaks / Simi Valley area. The sushi is fresh, portion sizes are always generous, and the chefs super friendly, remember your name and your preferences, and accommodating in creating exactly what youre craving. The tempura is great too, I sometimes order that at the sushi bar when I want something a little different. (Weve only eaten at the sushi bar, so I cant speak to the rest of the menu in the other part of the restaurant, but I do see its always busy). Highly recommend

Best quality in simi. Ive never had a bad experience here and Ive been going for years. The sushi chef, tony, is awesome and very friendly. My wife asked if they had a baked lobster roll like the one at hakari, Tony put his own spin on it and blew Hakari out of the water. 5 stars!

This unusual restaurant is an amalgam of Italian and Japanese cuisine. Tiramisu and miso soup, sushi and pasta. But the food is superb, and the service impeccable. The seafood is especially excellent. The reataurant is a bit hard to find in a shopping center, but absolutely worth the trip. There is something for everyone here and it is all good.

Hidden gem in a shopping mal. A business associate has always been telling nice things, so my wife and I drove an hour to check this place out - the Chilean seabass was among the best I ever had in my life.Would I go again: cant wait. Would I make a 30+ min detour to go (a mandatory to get five stars in my rating scheme): absolutely.

First time here and it was great! We sat outside because we brought the dogs. It was nice. We started with a CRT roll which was delicious and then got a cucumber salad and miso soup. Both were great, miso soup was the best Ive had. Then we shared the arugula mango salad and the filet mignon. The salad was great, I loved the dressing it came with. We asked for medium rare on the filet but it came out medium. It still tasted great but thats why I couldnt give it 5 stars.

My friends told me this was the best in Simi and well they were wrong. I guess some people dont know good Japanese food. The miso soup was bland and tasted like it was from a mix. The salmon was overcooked and dry. Maybe I came on a bad day, I dont know but I was not impressed.

So I had planned to take my recently asked fiancé to dinner she has wanted to take me here since we have been together but, has yet to. I thought I would surprise her and take her there for Valentines day. I figured out what time they opened, the previous day, so that I could check to see if I (A). Had to make a reservation or (B). See if they were already booked and if so then I would try another time. So there hours are 11AM–2:30PM, 5–9PM. That day I had called around 10:45am didnt really expect anyone to answer but, I figured hey it couldnt hurt to get a jump on things. Just as a expected no answer and I understood... I mean it was Valentines day and they more than likely had a lot to prep. Fast forward to 11:15am I called again...no answer I thought that was odd so I called again, right after I hung up, just in case someone maybe had there hands full with something. No Answer.I waited a little longer and we fast forward to 1pm, I figured since it was a Tuesday at this point most people would still be working. Not saying I know when their rushes are but, I would just assume. So when I called I should have been able to talk to someone. Again no answer I was getting quite frustrated I just wanted to surprise my fiance and have a nice dinner. Now I know most would have said just find another place if they dont want to pick up their phone. I get it but I was on a mission to surprise her and make her happy.So we jump ahead to the end here, lets just say the other 2 times I had called during business hours had the same result...No Answer. So I figured we get there a little early just in case there was a long wait. I predicted the wait would be anywhere between 30 mins to an hour and she got off work by 6 giving us enough time to get there by 7- 7:15 at the latest. When we had arrived and walked inside the doors it was just as I had expected. About 3 couples and a family of 5 were already waiting, 2 more couples were ahead of us to provide their name and the place did look busy.None the less she was happy and surprised to be there. I looked at her and had told here that I had tried calling earlier that day. 5 times to be exaxt and was curious why no one had answered the phone. I told her, Before we give her my name just know that it will probably be an hour or so wait she didnt mind. I also told her I also want to try one thing. I pulled out my phone and called their number and placed my phone by my side. I waited for the phone to ring. Once it did I was shocked, annoyed and angry at what happened next.The lady that had been helping the people before us had looked at the phone as it rang looked back at the couple and walked away. I thought to myself are you kidding me!? Has this been happening all day!? Everytime that I called, someone has either heard the phone and ignored it or decided that it wasnt their responsibility to answer it?! No I told myself maybe she was called to do something maybe someone else is coming to get it...so I called again. Due to NO ONE answer it the first time and again NO ONE answered it! Not even someone to just answer and say, One moment we are a little busy can I put you on hold...NOTHING.At this point I was at a loss for words on the situation. I looked at my fiancé, apologized, and told her that we are not eating here. She was just as shocked as I was on what a horrible first impression this place was for me. We left and so did the couple in front of us. I only assume it was because the lady had never come back but, dont know for sure. For me customer service is a very big thing. If the food wasnt up to par, great customer service will usually bring a person back to try the establishment again. Maybe the cook was off that day who knows. When you start off with horrible service like that you will never get people to try the food.I can not bring myself to give this restaurant anything lower than a 2. I can not give them a 1 because I never even got to try their food. Maybe sometime in the future I can see myself going back there but for now not so much.

Bluefin is our local goto place for sushi in Simi Valley. The traditional rolls are great and their custom rolls are even better. The Kodi, Hoss, Sha-sha are a few of the best. They have a full bar but their wine choices are not great. I recommend bringing your own wine. Their corkage fee is only $10.00.
