Hot pot has always been my personal favorite place. I love coming here for their individual hot pot. It is so good, and Im so addicted to it, but my only complaint is that there is always a long waiting list to be seated. Other than that, it would be perfect.

Went back twice after moved away from Irvine. Both time we went there were only 3-4 other groups dinning but they made us wait 45mins. Not sure if that there strategy to make it looks like people waiting but really dont like the idea of doing that. Other than that food was great with a meh type of service. I felt like BP has gone down in term of their service and cleanliness.

We got here 10 mins before it opened, and there was a line, so be prepared for a wait. I wasn’t to impressed with the food, especially since I had heard good things. I got the beef hot pot and it was almost all vegetables and imitation seafood. Barely any beef! The lunch came with free black or green tea, and they had a funny cat robot serving food. It wasn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t go back, when there are so many other yummy hot pot places in the Irvine area. The cat named Bella was an entertaining touch though!

The personal hot pot is great value for what you get and has fantastic flavour in the broth. My go-to is medium-spicy beef with rice and green tea (if its lunch). The food is consistently good at BP, and I like that there are so many ingredients. Ive tried locations in Irvine and Garden Grove and even DoorDashed BP. It never disappoints.I recommend going early to avoid a long wait. Recently, I went around noon after BP reopened in September. I joined the waitlist but only waited around 10 minutes for a table. Food came out relatively quickly.The atmosphere at the Irvine location is nice. Its spacious inside the restaurant, so it doesnt feel cramped even if youre one of the parties waiting for a table.

Ordered veggie hotpot but it was disappointing. The broth was flavorless and hence any veggies boiled in it were flavorless. Had to put lots of garlic sauce and bean paste to make it flavorful. I have had veggie hotpots before at other places and they have been delicious (usually tomato broths). This place should come up with a different vegetable flavorful broth. My friends ordered different non veg hotpots and they were delicious though. Hence, 4 stars.

Always provides a great meal although every once in awhile theyre out of something in one of the soups. Not a big deal as theyll usually sub in something else but can be a bummer if its your favorite item. Highly recommend Boiling Point if youre in the mood for hot pot. Their mini personal hotpots are amazing. Definitely check it out.

Among all Boiling Point locations, I think Irvine is the best. The quality remains the same everytime I visit, the parking is spacious, and the customer service is decent. Recommended dishes are beef, and milk cream curry with some tofu skin and pork instestine. Their milk tea is so so underrated because Hokkaido Milk Tea and Jasmine are much better than other Taiwaneseboba store!

Fun experience! The soups are prepared with vegetables, a protein, tofu, and vermicelli/glass noodles. We ordered 3 soups (house special, beef #4, & curry ) and the broths were very tasty. You choose whether you want rice or vermicelli noodles, and the level of spiciness (mild was just right). The service was amazing, servers were very attentive, asking if we wanted more broth, if we wanted our pot 🔥on/ off, and etc. Located in a corner of the shopping center.

My friend absolutely raves about this place, putting it in a category of its own, so we decided to come check it out together. I had the Tonkotsu Miso, and she had the Taiwanese Spicy. Mine, I requested it with the lowest spicy level and it was manageable. Hers came only with the highest spicy option, but she enjoyed it. Overall, a great place for Hot Pot lovers in general. 100% recommended.

This location gets packed during dinner time but we only waited less than 30 minutes to get seated so not bad. This was my first time here and I made the rookie mistake by ordering the Taiwanese spicy soup. It was delicious but so spicy that I wasnt able to finish it. The portions were huge and had plenty to take home. Overall it was really good and would go there again but will get something other than the Taiwanese spicy soup.

It delicious, but too many ppl and a huge line.So be prepared that you can spend around 20-60 min in line. We were around 12 pm on the day week, so maybe it depends on lunchtime. I ordered the miso soup and it was amazing. The meal included also cold tea.

Dec 2021: Ordered the Veggie Mushroom bowl to go. They had changed the ingredients they used. In my previous experience, they used the thick tofu skin with good texture. But today the tofu skin that came with the Veggie mushroom was not the same anymore. It broke apart, no texture, so mushy to eat.April 2021: I usually get their lunch combo. It comes with the main hotpot, vermicelli or rice, and a cup of black or green tea. Worth the price.It is hard to imagine how to have hotpot to-go but Boiling Point did it very well. They packed everything separately. They even give you 3 different dipping sauces in separate containers. The portion is big. The mushroom and veggie hotpot can serve for 2 ppl. I usually also add in enoki mushroom 🍄, deep fried tofu skin and broccoli when I serve it at home. The soup base for the vegetarian is so delicious and sweet, full of flavor.You can place your order in person or on the phone. At the moment you cannot place order online.

I ordered a non spicy beef pot and they bring me like a medium spicy one and told me they checked it is non spicy, and told me the red oil is barbecue sauce, it was ridiculous. Also, it’s not my first time here so I know they would come with green tea or black tea with the pot, but when I order without check the menu, when I ask about the tea, the server just said “oh I didn’t give u tea because u didn’t ask, that’s why u should check the menu first”. Love the attitude ❤️ lol

My wife called ahead to confirm I would be able to have soup bases because I have celiacs and often cant. We went to this place in particular because they enthusiastically said it would be fine. When we arrived, the manager said that all the soup bases were premade with wheat. I had to have a clear base and get sauces from the grocery store across the street. It was awful, preventable, and, therefore, kinda reprehensible. Wife and her cousin had a nice meal, but, uh, I kinda want an apology?

Single serve hot pot for around $14-20 per person. Food tasted great although I wouldve liked more meat. My potatoes werent soft despite it being boiled in the soup for a long time. Not a bad place to go to if you dont want to do an AYCE hot pot or an ala carte. I prefer the more traditional hot pot places though, more interactive and feels fresher.

We came here after they remolding, the seat is nothing changed, probably only remolded inside kitchen.It’s a lot of seat at the side corner for 2 people table. but they don’t open up for the long wait…So everyone needs to wait at least an hour to get in. Also their waiting app not improving, you couldn’t see the wait online. so you don’t know how long you need to wait.

Lots of good options. Some of the food is spicy and some have stinky tofu, so please ask if you are concerned about smelly or spicy food. You can share a pot between two people, so dont feel bad about sharing a soup and ordering more things to add.

A neat hot pot place. The portions were filling and decently priced. The broths were flavorful with several side sauces to spice it up even more if you wanted it. Some dishes are large enough to share if you both are not starving. All in all, a fun experience but be forwarded, there will probably be a ten to twenty minute wait to be seated.

I love love love Boiling Point! It is truly a pleasure to live so close to one. Important things you’ll need to know: 1) you can opt to receive text messages of when your table is almost ready 2) they have a mobile app that gives you points for every dollar you spend 3) you’ll get to refill your broth as often as you like! Please keep in mind that if you opted for the text, you MUST wait in the area because most of the time they never really wait for you to arrive. They just expect you to be there... I recommend always opting for at least the “mild” option because if you get one without any spice it is way too bland in my opinion.

Ive been here with some co-workers and we would have to wait since we had a party of around five to six people. The wait wasnt terrible and all you had to do for the wait list is to type in your phone number to their iPad and theyll text you when the table is ready. I usually go with the beef hot pot and I like the flavour of it. I go between mild and medium (depending on how much I wanted to suffer that day). I would go for at least a mild spice since the broth seems to be lacking without any spice. Also heres a tip: dont drink water while you eat the hot pot or else youll feel the burn more in your mouth!

Introduced to this spot by a coworker and I loved it!Place is clean and organized you walk in and enter your party size on an iPad and your phone number they will notify you when the table is ready. Came in for lunch I waited around 10 mins.Food was delicious I ordered the beef soup combination you get a lot of vegetables and beef, crab leg (imitation), tempura, corn, etc.Soup is very flavorful served on a mini wok. It will never get cold you get your personal wok and also get an empty small bowl on the side so you can eat it little by little. I ordered spicy level medium and you can always add more spice. They also have a variety of different sauces on the table that you can add to your soup.I also recommend getting the add on pork belly on the side you can always dip it in the soup broth.I’m sure every dish here is amazing I will definitely be back.Instead of regular rice you that comes with it you should get the “vermicelli” which is pretty much rice noodles.Portion size, quality and freshness A+Can’t wait to go back and bring family and friends over.Staff is very friendly and prices are great.

Amazing hot pot, however when I ordered the miso, I asked for no shrimp as I have a mild seafood allergy (I mentioned this to the servers and they also announced no seafood when they served it to me). Service never fails, always consistent the few times I have visited, quick, fast, courteous. Undoubtedly the best Hot Pot restaurant in Irvine if not Orange County. Favorite is the Beef Hot Soup done spicy with vermicelli. Tried the Taiwanese Spicy Hot Soup the last time I visited, a warning, it sure is spicy, be prepared to sweat profusely as it will sure kick up exponentially, each and every one of your taste buds. Recommend the steamed vegetables and the enoki mushrooms as sides, it sure does supplement the meal very well. The green Jelly packet provided at the end does aid to calm and soothe your stomach and adds as a mini dessert as well. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting and you will not be dissapointed.

Not busy around 3pm on a Tuesday. Seated promptly. Selected the Medium spicy half and half broth, which I think for most will be as spicy as they ought to go because theyll be needing cold glasses of water if they only use the hot pepper half of the broth. Thankfully, the other half gives you a break from all that spiciness. Naturally, they can go nuclear spicy for the rare few that can eat hot peppers like candy. Spicy beef was a surprise - totally covered in hot peppers - and yes, Spicy! Most might nibble at a few pieces and move on. Lamb, mushrooms, garlic, and noodles were as expected, and everything for about $70 with one drink made for a nice long, lazy afternoon chat with a friend. They do have other spices/sauces you can go get on your own, too. While Happy Sheep has gone to heaven, Boiling Point is a good replacement in the area for hot pot with no issues over the service or food.

My date and I arrived at around 1:20 PM for lunch. We were seated at 3:05, so we had to pay dinner prices (“dinner” is from 3-11 PM). $16 and a 1.5-hour wait for a mediocre bowl of hot-pot soup that only had a few pieces of (over-cooked) meat in it. Additionally, service was poor and we were charged for a bowl of rice that never came.

The wait list system is extremely flawed. Firstly they should not allow the 15 mins window for people to return after their number is called. Plenty of people waiting in front of the restaurant and got upset because the queue was not moving. Second, I saw the waitress entertained a group of 10 students- even though only less than half showed up. She allowed them to order their food in advance for their friends. Shouldn’t the entire party needs to be present? In my opinion this place doesn’t care about their customers. I like the food but this place needs to improve on their waitlist system.

Ok so here’s what happened. I used to like this place but absolutely not anymore. The last two dine-in experiences completely destroyed all the good past experience here. After having waited for an hour we were told we’re right up the next party to be seated. One of the waiters said they were preparing the table and it’s gonna be another 5-10 minutes wait for us, despite we saw LOTS OF empty seats inside. Then that waiter left. A short skinny girl with a low ponytail wearing a baseball cap came to the counter. Apparently, she’s reluctant to start her shift, as she ignored everyone waiting near the front desk. After another 40min of waiting I waved at her and asked if I can talk to their manager cuz with so many tables available and not seating anyone is just plainly wrong. She rudely yelled at me:”I’m the manager, talk to me then.” I asked her why we waited so long and still not getting seated and they haven’t seated anyone in the past 45min. She LITERALLY YELLED AT ME AND SAID “ We only have one person working here that’s why we cannot seat anyone!!!” That bit** made it sound like it’s my fault for them not hiring enough waiters to serve their customers (And she was lying. I saw at least 4 waiters inside walking around). What a pure jerk. Nobody deserves 2.5 hrs of wait when there are only 6 parties ahead of you. Nobody would expect that long of wait when they got that useless assigned line number and was told they were pretty close to the head of the line. They don’t care about making people standing outside forever. They just don’t care. I don’t take that BS excuse for making customers waiting ridiculous long time and you were absolutely capable of kindly take your customers to a table inside. Also that bit** who claims herself the manager should be FIRED.

Tasty Chinese hot pot. They are fast and efficient. Great for lunch or dinner. The service is excellent for an Asian place. Probably has some MSG in the broth. I recommend the beef or lamb hot pots. The pork one didnt taste as good. Weekends have a longer wait. Desserts are just pre-packed treats, avoid. There is another location in the same plaza.

Got the larger variation of the Thai pot, very spicy. Very delicious, the cabbage was yummy and the soup was good. Service is excellent! Went in on a Tuesday night and waited around 15 minutes. Then they redirected us to the second restaurant because tables opened up over there. It was only like a minute walk. However one star knocked off because the tables were placed about like three inches to the next persons table, no joke, probably to get as many tables in the restaurant as possible. This place is always crowded during peak dining hours so come early or be prepared to wait for 30 mins+. The food is great and the service is quick. Love the Hokkaido milk tea and sometimes even come to order just that. You can download their app and earn points for free food now! I love this place. However, it is always pack. I go there if and only if, I can make it just before they open (or 5-10 mins after they open). Otherwise, be expected to wait for a while.Food is excellent but the portion is a bit small for a grown adult like me :)I just found out that their reward card is always expires in June and Dec. However, you can transfer your reward stamps from one card to the other card, and you can redeem free food within 1 month after your card is expired.

Not a real fish fan, but their beef soup was absolutely amazing! Recommend adding a little soup to some rice, its fantastic. My only issues were that it has a little fish in my soup even though it says beef. Also, I ordered my soup mild but it was still pretty spicy. The good thing is that they offer to add more water to the soup so that you can thin out the spiciness. Terrible customer service. First of all, their phone ordering system does not work. I called about 30 times over a half hour period, and no one picked up my phone. I then had to order on GrubHub for my order to go through, and I wanted to get boiling point rewards for my order, but they wouldn’t let me because it was ordered through GrubHub and their policy was to not track rewards for GrubHub orders. Even after I explained my situation to the workers and asked for the manager, they were not apologetic at all and rather just dismissed my frustrations. I understand it’s policy, but at least try to understand my situation. Also they never sent me a notification that my food was ready. Used to come here often, but now will never come back.

Boiling Point is one of my most favorite place for hot pot and I find myself craving it pretty often.I was excited that they opened a location in Garden Grove as I spend a lot of time in the OC nowadays.The two of us came here for a super late dinner and the wait was about 20 minutes.We shared the Taiwanese Spicy and an extra side of pork and tofu skin. Ive had the Taiwanese Spicy many times before. This one wasnt very spicy like the times Ive had it at other locations. We both agreed that it was medium spicy. Aside from that, their garlic soy dipping sauce was different. It was so bland and watery. The sauce had a light brown color isnt the dark brown that Im used to.Service was good. Waters and extra soup were given when requested.For those complaining about the wait time...an hour is normal for Boiling Point. Its like that at EVERY location. I suggest coming during an off time to avoid the long wait.They offer a stamp card program. You can get a free soup if you collect 10 stamps. Collect 5 stamps on drink purchases for a free drink.

Ah Boiling Point Irvine. If youre looking for good, personalized hot pot, the Irvine one isnt too different from the rest and although it shares the quirks of all the locations, its still solid.If youve never been, food-wise, when you sit down, youll choose your hot pot choice. I recently tried the kimchi which was surprisingly solid. The lamb is great too as well as the tonkatsu. Note that the large portion is definitely good for two people but the small portion is still pretty filling for one. It comes with a ton of ingredients but you can add in more options or different noodles. You get to choose the spice level (medium is my go to although too spicy for some of my friends) and get to choose between rice or vermicelli. Prices range from about $13 for a small to $17 for a large in lunch (prices increase by a few dollars for dinner).I havent really found a better place for a hot pot location than Boiling Point because of the way they give you individualized burners that slowly taper off on their own. They refill the water level for you too on the soups when you need it and have sauces on the side that are absolutely delicious. Sure sometimes some of the ingredients take you by surprise for better or worse like the stinky tofu in the house hot pot but mostly all the ingredients taste great and is super filling for the pricepoint.In this last visit, our waitress was super on point (Amber we believe); super informative and super helpful. We came a little late in the lunch hour but she still got us our complimentary green teas which they were nearly out of.Would advise you to be wary of wait times. Have waited anywhere between 15 minutes to over an hour depending on the day / time (dinner on the weekends are packed - as with all Boiling Points, its a popular spot.) Youll need to go in and put your phone number (or pick up a physical ticket) from the tablet and wait in line. If you put in your number, youll get a text when your table is ready as well as seeing how many parties are in front of you on the tablet.Parking is a bit of a mess at times so be aware.

My go-to for soups, which is almost every weekend! My boyfriend and I are weekend regulars and try to line up before the doors open to ensure prime seating. It basically eliminates the wait you’d have to endure if you come during peak hours.The boyfriend loves their lamb pot, but always asks them to sub or remove a few things, in which they rarely get right. It’s basically remove all the green colored things (mustard greens, green onions and cilantro) except the Napa cabbage, but their odds have been 1 in 20. The parking lot at this center is a zoo, theres never any spaces and you constantly see cars parked crookedly and over the line, which makes it even harder. Went for a dinner date on a Friday night. The place was pretty full but not packed to the point of a wait. I immediately noticed the place had a strange borderline unpleasant smell. I couldnt guess what it was or what could be causing it.I ordered the beef hot soup and my date had the lamb soup. I ordered mild and so did my date. The soup and its ingredients came very hot and fresh. HOWEVER I noticed a few problems. The broth itself is quite bland and without any added spice its too bland. However, simply ordering mild actually comes out VERY spicy because of the hot chili oil. So essentially there is no option to have a slight spicyness to your soup. Its either bland ( no added spicy )or medium to medium-hot (order mild). Their menu explanation was very inaccurate and it was a disappointing surprise. The spicy has more kick than it does flavor. Its also obvious their ingredients arent very high quality. The beef and fish cake are both a very cheap and bland(fish cake) variety. Nothing wrong with it per se, but for a $14 soup I would expect a bit better quality and larger portion. The other ingredients I had no problem with. I would guess they give you about 3 oz of meat, which is not generous at all.The unlimited broth would be a more appealing feature if their broth was actually good. Clear 3* place. 2* bland food, 2* ambience, 5* service. There are many restuarants like this in the area - youd be smart to try elsewhere first.

The ever popular joint known for their stinky tofu house special and their house sauce. It was only a matter of time this popular joint came to Irvine and of course even expand to their second location within the same plaza. Just go up to the booth to grab either a paper ticket or input your cell phone number into the check-in device/tablet. I opt to use my phone number because its easier for me through text to get a confirmation text as I shop at the nearby supermarket & then 1 more text when my table is ready. All she would say is that there are reservations, and I was like okay well how long is the wait, and she wouldnt tell me and it pissed me off so much cause all I wanted was an estimated time and she wouldnt let me. That place is great if you are okay with stupid people but at least they would have a reservation so you wouldnt have to wait in a long line.But anyways back to the main Boiling Point. The fact that I understand if the location is busy and that there are many trainees everywhere, but the problem is the fact that while we were waiting for our food a server comes by giving us 3 drinks which we were telling them it wasnt ours, which I wasnt gonna get mad cause its understandable they are busy and got confused, but then by the time the food came out it just got worse. I understand that certain ones contain nuts, but at the other locations if I ask for no nuts they warn that it wont be as favor full which I understand, but over here it is straight up just water. I dont understand how this is considered Boiling Point if they arent the same as the one in Westminster, Cerritos, Gardena. I went there when they were new and I still go back and they never were shitty like this place. To top it off, they got my friends order wrong, when we all ordered beef hot soup. When they were giving us our food and we told them that we didnt order a Japanese Miso we all ordered beef, our waiter was sure it was ours even after we told them that it wasnt. Then my server was so smart and asked us, if we knew who ordered it and we looked at him like, seriously? Did we take the order... Do we know everyone in this room or what? They are the some restaurant, it is just that... they are on opposite sides of the shopping center. When i wanna do hotpot, Boiling Point is the first place that I think about, I love Taiwanese food, especially the hot pot, stinky tofu. I also like the green tea here, it recall me the time when i was in Taiwan.

There is a bit of a wait on weekends for lunch but they are very efficient and I think it is worth it for the food. Good hot pots for the price and at lunch you get tea as well.

Food is ok. Wait is a nightmare. If you are there for lunch and you are a working class which having one hour lunch, forget it, dont even bother to come, the wait will outlast your lunchtime. Plan to have 3hrs to spare if you want to eat here.

We went here and they refused to make simple changes. Its one thing to not switch things out, but youll gladly remove it. Its awful. I love boiling point, but this one gives their entire chain a bad name.
