We came in with several children for dinner. The server was extremely personable. He was also impressively patient & thoughtful in offering many options for our pickiest eater to enjoy. There’s another Indian restaurant extremely nearby but this one has much better food. Highly recommend!

I have been coming here for almost 15 years but never ended up writing a review, but finally here I am. This is by far one of the best Indian restaurant that I have been to in the LA area. The service is great and the food is excellent. My favorite is definitely the Saag Paneer! Highly recommend this place to anyone out there who is craving some Indian food!

It was a pleasant experience here.Parked behind the restaurant. Walked in to a simple arrangement of tables, got a seat quick enough as there was no rush. Order was brought in pretty quick and was delicious enough.Naans are possibly one of the best I tasted till date. Curries were a bit bland and could do better. Mango lassi was good too. Would not miss a second chance if I had to go back. If you are in the area for Universal Studios and want an Indian dish for dinner, you should try this place.

I had amazing indian food experience here. Extremly cozy atmosphere, attentive and unintrusive staff with good recommendations! My fifth time here and one of the dishes is always tikka masala. This time I had lamb tikka by waiters recommendations and it was out of this world. Portions are good as well.

My husband and I have been going here for years! It is THE BEST Indian food in LA! We always get the samosas, the fish korma, sag paneer, chicken tikka, or the vegetable coconut curry, but I’ve tried other dishes and EVERYTHING IS GOOD. Hint: If you like spicy ask for the temperature to be ‘medium plus!’

Bollywood Cafe has the best indian food I have tried, truly a hidden gem. I made it a hobby of trying a lot of Indian places but I always come back to Bollywood Cafe. The food is incredible, good prices and atmosphere. Rafiq always takes amazing care of me whether its dine in or take out, he makes my experience at Bollywood Cafe great every time. This is a nice and cosy Indian restaurant, the decor has a retro vibe with very nice table settings, cloth napkins and table cloths, the staff was very pleasant and paint with us, I don’t love cilantro (coriander) and I forget to ask for it to be removed when ordering, I asked a couple of minutes later and they accommodated me.We ordered, the Onion Pakora was good one was a little more well done then the other.The Garlic Naan was incredible, lots of garlic, the crispy bottom and the soft and chewy bread, I’m drooling as I write this, get this naan.I love Peshwari Naan, it was good to try different takes, this was more coconut with less raisin based, it was less sweet then other peshwari then I tried.The dishes were amazing, a little bit more then we could finish. The rice was so good as well, I don’t think enough focus is ever put on the rice because it’s a little over shadowed by the curry, but there rice was tasty and solid.

The food here is very good and the customer service is amazing. Rafiq, our server, is very kind and always made sure we were happy and that our cups were always filled. We got the chicken tikka masala medium spice and it was a perfect balance between spicy and tasty. I also would recommend getting the cheesy Naan and regular naan. It pairs very well with the curry and is just overall very delicious. We having been coming here for over a year now and it’s our go to Indian restaurant.

Tonight was my first time at this. Being Indian, and having a mother who is a chef, I have high expectations at an Indian restaurant. I mentioned to the gentleman serving our table, Sameer, that we were gathering to celebrate my sister’s birthday.The food was incredible. I was scared to try the coconut curry, but it was outstanding. We all enjoyed the food thoroughly. And when we finished, we had a plate with kulfi and gulab Jamin brought to us with a beautiful, flower shaped candle. We got to sing happy birthday. First time eating here. We ordered the Tandoori Dinner special for 2. The taste was pretty good and the portion was large (it is easily enough for 3, maybe even 4). The dining space is small but comfortable, we went late on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. We totally missed that dessert was included in the price of the special and misunderstood when we were offered dessert. We said no, to which the waiter asked if we wanted it to go, and we thought he was trying to get us to order (we would have loved to if we hadn’t been so full!) 😩😅 (we only realized about this when reading the menu again online lol…I wish the waiter would have been more clear but then again it’s more our fault than his). Anyhow, despite this, it was a good experience. We will be back and hopefully they keep their 5 star rating. (Maybe if the restaurant reads this, could we get dessert for free next time? 😅🤭)

The best and most authentic Indian food in this city.Top notch service and ambiance, they go out of their way to ensure your utmost comfort. I recommend ordering everything medium or hot, you just don’t taste the complexities of the food and spices otherwise. I take a Pepcid and a Beano beforehand, haha. Indian food is my true comfort food, when I want something satisfying and delicious, I come here.

The food here is quite good. Good complex traditional spices and flavors. Get it as hot as you can stand. The heat works with the other spices and balances the sweet and pungent flavor profiles of Indian cooking.The vegetarian dinner for two is a weekly staple at our place. My wife and I have tried all the Indian food around us and it was too expensive or too small of servings. We found this place and it wasnt too far. The food was great I love getting lamb vindaloo, and she loves her Tikka masala. We always get naan and rice. I wish I had an option for ZERO starts I would have gone with that option. Here’s how my FIRST visit at this location was like:I and my two friends decided to go to an Indian restaurant, get some samosa appetizers and good old fashioned chai. See that we’re three people so ofcourse we were going to order multiple appetizer options alongwith chai. Immediately, we were told that the restaurant doesnt serve chai alone. Which is when we brought to his attention that hey we’re ordering appetizers too and that too multiple ones. He then responded saying yeah the restaurant doesnt serve only appetizers either its a part of the rule. He was super disrespectful about it and we had to leave to restaurant as a result. A fellow indian treating other indians like his!! I’m so upset and would never recommend this place to anyone. If you are craving good indian food and good service PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

The vegetable bhreni didnt come with rice nor mention I needed to buy rice separately. The okra was very fiberous and I struggled to find raisins and almonds in my chicken dish... but it wasnt bad. Just not what I thought I was getting. The Naan was good. And it took 3 people to check if my order was ready and verify my name before I could take my order. I used the recommend online service. You may drive by this place wondering if you should give it a shot or not. Do it! This place is excellent. Its been here for a quite a while and for good reason. The food is very good and consistently good every time you go back. The atmosphere is cozy. It is not a huge place. The service is also very nice. The people are always very friendly. They never miss a beat. For good, fresh, reasonably priced Indian dishes, This gets a 5/5 from me. I find myself ordering for pickup normally. Really good Indian food and friendly service. The prices are a little bit high compared to other local Indian spots, but the portions were fair and well made. My only real complaint with Bollywood Cafe was the noise! Phones were ringing, huge blenders (grinders?) were constantly going off in the kitchen, and employees were arguing near the doorway to the kitchen, which is very close to the seating area. Im sure this wasnt the norm, but it wasnt entirely pleasant for carrying a conversation. Parking is a challenge, so give yourself a few extra minutes.

We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Mixed Tandoori and garlic and cheese naan. All of the food was great but I highly recommend the Tikka Masala. Kind of had a terrible experience.. we ordered paneer tikka masala with instructions for extra spcicy and Malai kofta. But the paneer tikka was more of paneer butter masala and sweeter than kofta. Biryani was instead like sweet vegetable pulao with all vegetable in the store. Staff was kind of rude picking up plates from the table even while people are still eating.. even to get a table we had to wait for 45 minutes despite people on two tables having finished food even before we ordered. I was only in the LA area for two days & when I travel I always go for Indian. Bollywood Cafe thoroughly pleased. I ordered the chicken vindaloo (and verified I wanted it hot), an order of samosas, two naans, and two orders of rice, which turned out to be more than enough for my party of two at about $25 total.The vindaloo was great: wonderfully flavorful curry, good quality meat (mixed white and dark), and hot enough to let you know youre alive without trying to prove anything. (Im one of these people who grows chilis in the backyard and tosses them into take-out, leftovers, etc. if its not spicy enough). The samosas were crispy and nicely tasty with the coriander/cilantro and mango chutneys. There was a goodly amount of saffron in the rice and the naan were definitely up to snuff. You have to order the rice, its not an automatic side. Its better than any rice Ive made at home but if I lived in the area I might experiment, so I suppose this could be a neat option. (It seems some reviewers below found this arrangement disingenuous; the staff took care to let me know when I ordered).It was extremely busy when I came by. They took about 15 phone orders while I waited for my carry-out, and the small but classy dining area was full. So I was impressed both by their efficiency and by their friendliness, not just with the customers but with each other: you can tell this is a well-run operation.

Bollywood Cafe has great food and service. This location in Studio City is small, but still has a nice atmosphere. My favorite dishes are the Vegetable Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Aloo Gobi. The Garlic Naan is to die for!!

1st, the info here is incorrect. This is an Indian restaurant, not middle eastern. Nor is Bollywood a south-east-asian place, as listed here. That would mean Vietnam, Thailand, Laos.. Anyway Bollywood makes extremely delicious Indian food. Its a smaller, cozy place with very nice staff. I usually get chicken tikka masala or shrimp tandoori masala, plus sag aloo (spinach +potato). Never had better Ind. food, + great service.
