2023-07-08 00:27:18Been wanting to come here for some time as I am a big fan of Korean chicken. However, I was pretty disappointed when I got my boneless chicken. I was thinking it would be large hand breaded chunks of thigh or breast but they tasted like they might as well have been frozen. For the price too, I wouldn’t order it again. I did try out the potstickers and really enjoyed those. You’re able to pick from two different flavors. Also tried the bulgogi tacos and those were amazing. Definitely the highlight of the meal. I will be back to try some of the other stuff on the menu but definitely prefer BBQ chicken over bonchon.

2023-02-04 16:29:29So I was thinking the taste of Korean BBQ and I shouldnt have done that because this food is entirely different. Its a bustling place ! They make u wait outside to get a table when they are at full capacity. The amount of food served is quite large for two meals for sure!Tacos are cutely served on a taco divider to keep your food together. Presentation is definitely on the mind of Bonchon. What I loved was that my Bibimbap (spicy chicken) was served in a stone heated bowl. The entire long dinner, my food was at hot steaming temperature. How amazing is that??? Your meal just as 🔥 as when served down to the last morsel. Now thats customer service minded service from an owner/ managerial point of view. My husbands was served in a metal heated platter. The fried chicken is not the KFC type. Keep in mind a Korean taste on anything u order.Enjoy!

2021-10-18 00:55:06Was super excited to find time to come here. They werent too busy and we were seated right away. Started off wth a 6 piece Takoyaki appetizer and they came out nice and hot. But after a few bites found that the fried octopus ball only contained a sliver of meat. I ended up eating a giant fried dough ball which was overwhelmingly covered in a sweet sauce over cabbage. Put more meat and less sauce and they would have had something Id come back for, but as it was, pretty disappointing. We also had the chicken sliders for an appetizer, honestly, all i can say was that it was very dry and lacked any flavor. We had chosen the soy garlic. The only flavor that peeked out was the cole slaw.Main entree was the Bulgogi dish and the Chicken Fried Rice. The Bulgogi was average. The Bulgogi was on a bed of onions that were freshly cut and provided a nice contrast to the Bulgogi. It werent for the super oiliness of the Bulgogi, I felt it could have tasted better. The Chicken Fried Rice felt like food you could get at a buffet, precooked rice sitting in a chafing dish, and a choice of meat mixed in when ordered. It did not come out hot, which was a bummer. Any fried rice, imo, taste better hot. Just underwhelming. We really came to try the chicken wings and ordered the small 50/50 boneless wings in sweet red chili and soy garlic. For a place proud of their chicken, I found it truly disappointing. The chicken may have been prefried and sitting in a chafing dish, because there was zero crunch, the texture was hard, and the chicken was not juicy or tender. The sweet red chili sauce felt like a last minute brush on, taste was bland, and the soy garlic flavor was practically missing.Overall, came in with high expectations and left wondering if Id ever come back. For the prices, I think Id be better off getting fried chicken anywhere else. The only real positive, if I can say it, is the food was definitely IG ready. Imo a solid 3 star eatery.

2023-01-09 04:10:54Randomly found it because I was going to daiso. Chicken was better than I expected. Ordered a small order of mixed fried chicken and it was realistically good to share with someone else. 10/10 recommend

2023-01-21 22:52:34Starting of with the service, it was A++. The food, amazing 👏🏽. Ordered the spicy dumplings, spicy wings, spicy fried chicken and bulgogi fried rice. I have to say it was mouthwatering delicious. Fyi spicy means spicy! Will continue to go here.

2022-12-29 06:59:40The fried chicken here is remarkable, particularly the spicy ones. Side items such as the coleslaw and fries are good too, but much more ordinary. I wish we had a Bonchon closer to where I live so I could eat it every week.

2023-07-30 20:09:203 strikes, I love Korean food, lived there for 3+ years and have so much respect for this cuisine. Am sooo disappointed that this place makes such bad food and at such high prices, not only bc I was so excited but bc some might actually think this is what k-food is really like(its not). $20 for chicken strips the size of a French fry and totally dried out chicken as if it had been sitting there for hours, undermarinated radish, and just awful and rude service when they forget your order. I tried this place 3x, Dine in, takeout and delivery. All unfortunate experiences with the food. How unfortunate.

2023-08-24 23:29:47The place looked nice, but that was it. The food didnt have flavor and Ive been going up and down SD trying different Korean spots. The seasoned fires are ok at best. For the price I rather go to a kbbq
