The spicy chicken is 🌶️! Soo good! It was actually spicy! Everything else is great too!Had the XL family deal and it was just right. Did the half and half for the chicken. Spicy & Soy Garlic.

Just discovered Bonchon on McKee & Capitol in the Grocery Outlet / Dollar Tree. Its a fast casual restaurant with a bar that features Korean beers and the food is a modern mix on traditional Korean food. At first I thought it was a fast food place and was going to order at the cashier but the friendly employee told us to sit down and he would serve us.We had the Korean tacos with bulgogi (tasty), Shrimp Shumai (okay), Udon Noodle soup (good) and got one strip of their double fried Korean chicken to try. The chicken was very good and Ill be back for more!On a side note ... I was fascinated with this business and read that it started in 2002 in South Korea and has grown to 389 restaurants worldwide across eight countries. The global brand was brought to the U.S. in 2006, and has expanded to 115 locations. All of those domestic stores are franchised, except for four.

We went in at about 40 minutes before closing and they seemed reluctant to seat us. I ordered the strips which Ive ordered at other Bonchon locations so I know what to expect, also I ordered radish not coleslaw. The waiter brought out what Im sure was the boneless wings due to the small size. They also brought coleslaw so I think the waiter guessed at the order, got it wrong, then tried to hide his mistake. There also was absolutely no breading on these supposed strips. I took one bite and it was completely dry and inedible. I didnt finish and asked for the order to be refunded. The waiter tried to convince me these were strips and Ill give credit he offered to have them remake or give something else, but the quality was so appaling l didnt want anything else. I would go to Bonchon again at other locations but Ill never go back to this location, but wanted to give feedback

Crispy and delicious Korean fried chicken. The spicy is most definitely kickin, wouldnt recommend if you dont like the heat! But the half and half is my favorite. The pickled radish is great as well. This was my first time trying the seasoned fries and they were crunchy and hot! Probably will get them again! A long time ago I had the kimchi coleslaw and remember liking it, but today it tasted too fermented.. almost like it was carbonated. Not my favorite. Bonchon is one of my favorite chains!

I’m really disappointed with my order this time. Usually Bonchon kills it with quality, but my chicken couldn’t even be called chicken. More like fried and sauced up hard inedible skin. Couldn’t even eat it. Was way too hard to chew. The server seemed annoyed with me too. I just walked in to look at the menu and she made me feel rushed. I don’t think she meant it but it did make me feel uncomfortable. At least the restaurant was clean and not busy. Food came out fast.

1st time I went, I came to this location, it wasnt like the other locations, but I decided to give it another try. This time, it was worse. I called in ahead to get my order. They made me pay over the phone because my order was $50. When I arrived, they didnt acknowledge me. I even greeted them upon arrival. The 2 ladies at the Regis finished talking, then they assisted me. I only ordered wings and strips for a work meeting. The strips were super hard and stale. Like it was 2 day old chicken. The wings werent coated in the spicy sauce like normal either. The box the strips came in was messy. Like they had their dirty hands all over it. It was like my order was thoroughly rushed. Its awful having paid a good amount for poor food and customer service.

Dont eat here. They dont cleanly remove the feathers on the chicken wings before they fry them. During eating, I found the feathers were not cleanly removed before frying. We asked the waiter and the waiter replaced the wing with another wing. I kept eating and I found 4 other wings that have feathers on them. We felt disgusting and we dont want to pay for this plate. The waiter was very rude. They said we ate most of the wings and refused to cancel our order. I want to tell everyone.

I gave it a one star because the Pork Bun had a small meat in it . I compared it to the Pork Bun at the Capitol ( 377 N Capitol AveSan Jose, CA 95133United States) and that Pork Bun meat is a good size . I recommend the one at capitol than here . Check it out and compare :)

Yes I went to their soft opening so the expectations are extremely low. They had no sesame tofu salad or daikon. They said they were making the kim-chee in the back. Kim Chee was bad not even fermented. VERY DISAPPOINTING SINCE WE WAITED 45 MINS FOR CHICKEN.

Ordered a small combo of fried chicken and steamed shrimp shumai, through Uber Eats.The small combo has pretty good amount of pieces, with six wings and three drums in the order. The crust is crunchy and not bland. Loved it!Shrimp shumai is available both fried and steamed, and we ordered the steamed one. There were eight dumplings which are small one bite sized. It was so good that I wished there were more pieces.

Well,, I don’t usually write a review but this time is different and wanted to say something. I’ve had bonchon multiple times at different locations and I know how Korean fried chicken should be but the chicken I ordered from this location has so much improvement. The plain fried chicken didn’t taste like it was properly seasoned/brined at its base and it was very bland. The spicy chicken was only spicy without depth of flavor. Not sure the batter was thick or the oil wasn’t fresh,,, the chicken for both spicy and soy garlic had hardened portions and wasn’t chewable and I had to pick and spit those parts out. Coleslaw tasted so bad and runny so we just threw all of those out. I am so disappointed by its quality and will never order from this location ever again.

Ordering online sucks. The app took the order before the store opens (opens at 11:30am). Got an email that says the order will be ready at 11:35am. I thought I would wait until 11:40am to give them some time. I went in to see if my order was ready. The boy that works there said that it will be ready in 5mins. 15mins later, I went in again and the boy said it will be ready in 10mins because they have a big order that they needed to fill before my small single order. It is close to noon now and I am still waiting for my order. Then I asked if they can just cancel my order since it wasnt prep yet and just provide me a refund. At that time...the older guy (seems to be the manager) said let me check the back. He went to the back and came out with my order in less than 1min. Got home and ate the chicken wings...flavor(or lack there of) was not what I expected from Bonchon. Waste of my time...

Tasty Food (korean fried chicken), but smaller sizes (compared to mountain view location) and mainly unwelcoming staff. I came at 8.30pm and wanted to eat inside - staff refused saying that they started cleaning. 70% of tables were available, other people were sitting there, restaurant was operating till 9pm. Eventually, they allowed, but its not a good treatment and clearly not customer oriented business.

Although the food was 10/10, this location seems to not have enough employees to run a restaurant. The server asked what drinks we would like and didnt bring them until AFTER we got our food. We got our food and 5 min later the server came to our table to ask if we can pay now because he was leaving and because the rest of the employees were trippin I told him well pay when were done and somehow even though his shift was gonna be over he was there till we left. I also asked for silverware and didnt get it until everyone else was halfway through their food. Lol food was good tho, WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION.

Went to pick up a meal for someone else. The staff is friendly and attentive but lack leadership and a sense of responsibility. We informed one employee of a large dead roach at the front door. That employee informed another, who in turn passed the info onto another and it just kept getting passed along to someone else. Service was slow. It took 25 minutes to get the food. When we left, nobody had done a thing about the roach. Not really as surprised as I should be. The windows and ceiling are coated in webs. Real webs, not early Halloween decorations. They werent fresh webs either, judging by the thick coat of dust on them and the large amount of dead flies trapped in them. How do you pass inspection? An eating establishment should be spotless. If this is how poorly kept the restaurant is out in the open, where anyone can see, how can we trust any food coming out of that hidden kitchen?

This place does not close at 9pm as advertised. I walked in at 8:30 and I was told there closed. I asked them about how it clearly states 9pm and the sign shows the business is still open. I was told that no orders are taken after 8:30 then I let her know how i called about 10 times 20 minutes prior to arriving at the business and her new excuse was we dont answer the phones after 8:20pm when i had clearly called prior to 8:20. If you dont want to be dissappinted and declined service id recommend Vons chicken has great wings similar to here if not better and they answer their phone and take orders till the very last minute of Closing time.

I ordered 30 large wings and said very clearly over the phone that I needed 25 spicy and 5 soy garlic. The sale clerk somehow misheard and did it backward. That’d be completely fine to me since she said that she would fix it. The problem was they tried to get away by putting an absurd amount of spicy paste on the old wings and swapping it out instead of having it redone correctly. They did it in a rush so they could move on with the other orders. It’s a terrible way to fix a problem. I’d have no problem waiting a little bit longer as long as it’s redone correctly. My whole family had to drink a lot of water after trying to finish the whole extremely salty wings because of their bad working ethic. That salty meal could easily kill a person with high blood pressure. Please do yourself a favor and check your order carefully before going out of the door.

Ive been to Bonchon many times. They used to be top notch wings. Lately they have been serving party wings and not whole wings with the tips and the quality of the product has been lacking. My last wings yesterday were possible frozen and not fresh prior to frying. For the price, this is no longer a good value. Maybe a supply issue with their fresh wings? My drumsticks in the combo was still fantastic and fresh. Hopefully they turn this around.

Great fried chicken! Ive only ordered the fried chicken though and not much of anything else, so I cant review that. The wait is usually 40 - 50 during busy times so its best to call ahead and order -- even if you are eating there. It seems like this place is always busy though.

Dined in yesterday horrible experience and most likely will never return to this location. Order wings and strips combo waiting over 45 minutes for the food when it came out the strips were super small and looked like nuggets. When we asked the employee all he could say is that they have downsized on portions of food ? Ridiculous. Before we even got our food another server came by and tried to give us our bill which was disturbing because we never even got our food. Our server Sam was lazy and never checked on us once or apologize for the wait. She was busy gossiping to her other Co workers. Very unprofessional and no service here Id recommend spend your money elsewhere...

We were told our order will take about 20-30 minutes... its been 45 minutes now, no one has followed up with us, no offer for drink refills even though there are about 6 servers and only 3 tables with guests. The servers are standing around chatting with their friends at the bar. When I followed up, we were told itll be another 10-15 minutes. 1 hour for fried chicken? NOPE! Bye! When we first walked in we were helped right away and the guy (his name is Jimmy) at the order to go counter was very very nice and helped me figure out what was good. My mother and I sat at the bar to wait for the food since it was gonna be 25 minuets and he offered us a glass of water while we waited. Despite some miscommunication, I appreciate the staff on hand who fixed the issue I experienced. 15minutes to get there, almost 30 to wait for the food, 15 minutes back home to realize I asked for boneless wings but their saucy deal is only for the in bone wings, to me calling them about it, to 15 minutes driving back, speaking with two people (both doing their job well) to me leaving with the right order and getting home 15 minutes after.Food:Spicy is fairly spicy, it doesnt pool any punches but wont melt your face (especially after a few wings)Soy Garlic is my favorite I think, balanced over all flavor and really satisfying.Sweet crunch...wasnt sold on it. Good food, bad service. They play too loud music, they dont call your name when the food is ready. Well they didnt do that when I ordered the food and waited 45 min waiting and waiting. Someone came after me and got their food before us.... So went up to then asked if our food was ready and they said yeah its been ready. Im like why didnt you call, we were sitting right in front of you guys ... Thats what happens when you play loud club music at a restaurant in the middle of the day. I did not like their service. I would rate this place more of a 3.5. The service here is extremely slow some days. There are days when you order take out and it still requires you to wait 20 minutes after arrival. The food is a variable. Some days the chicken is more favorable than others. The Bulgogi fried rice is good 1/5 times. Other times the rice is not cooked evenly or it’s a bit soggy (how?). Overall, subpar compared the south SJ locations.

I was really excitwd to see this lication open near me. Came in to order togo. I was told the wait would be about 20 to 30 minutes. I ended up waiting an hour. Horrible customer service. Well more like a lack customer service. The food is not good enough for me to wait an hour. Pretty much ruin my plan for the day. Price wise, i find it expensive for fried chicken. I would rather rather eat KFC, cheaper and no wait.If you really want to get food here, best to call ahead. Otherwise you will be waiting like me.

I will never order any food from this restaurant any more. I placed an order using DoorDash and waited for nearly three hours just because they gave the order to a wrong person. My dasher talked to them and they just refused to make any makeup and asked him to call customer service. It’s their fault because they didn’t check the identity and just gave the order casually. Why they had me to bear three hours’ hunger? They never consider the customer’s feeling. Don’t ever eat at such a restaurant that never cares customers’ feeling. Oh by the way, they just cancelled my order after three hours without any apology.

Avocado ball is the best appetizer you can get before ordering your delicious, crispy Korean fried chicken. They also have tenders for those who are uncomfortable with eating bone in wings/drumsticks. Service is quick. Waiters are friendly. Facilities are clean and large. I ordered Medium Combo from here via UberEats due to SIP with Covid-19. It shows that “Comes with a side of pickled daikon radish.” and just “Add a side (for extra cash)” like the screenshot. So I didn’t choose side and I expected my menu would come with pickled radish. They just told me that leave a comment from next time.When you think common sense, you will serve any side menu if customer didn’t choose a side, isn’t it? And if there was a mistake by yourself, you will discount at least for the missing item, right?I had no worthy to talk with anymore and hang up the phone.I strongly not recommend using delivery from this restaurant. They don’t care customers at all.

I usually go to the smaller location. But the service isnt that great here, i didnt get greeted so i seated myself. I waited about 15 mins and still nobody came to get me and i turned arpund to notice to workers talking to each other, literally right behind me. I had to get their attention just to receive a cup of water. The restuarant is fairly empty for a big location but i waited soo long for my food. Really good Korean fried chicken. Service is usually good here and the chicken comes out crispy and hot. I usually go in a group of 3-4 people and a large order with half soy garlic and half spicy is perfect with a side of rice.

Short 1pc chicken wing! This might sound ridiculous but we ordered 10-pc chicken wings and when we got it, it’s missing 1pc. Somebody is not paying attention in the kitchen. Not to mention the wings themselves are very small at $1.50 each! I called and was asked if I wanted to drive back to claim the missing pc. Lol! Now it makes me wonder if they really count the chicken pcs that they put on pickups and orders. Be watchful.
