I had the Bulgogi Fries. They hit the spot. The Korean BBQ and Soy Garlic Chicken was just ok for me. The service was good though. Friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was a bit odd. This was my first time here so it just may be me. Wont stop me from going back.

For 2 people we got the 10 piece soy garlic drumsticks w/ sides of cole slaw, fries and the Korean tacos. We were beyond full! The drumsticks are super crispy and pretty big!We were able to get seated right away on a Sunday for dinner. Atmosphere inside is pretty simple and lots of TVs inside. We’ll be back!

Met with a colleague here and went with his recommendation and ordered several dishes, the highlight of which was definitely the Soy Garlic Korean Fried Chicken. Some of the best fried chicken I’ve had! Service was great and fast too. Would definitely recommend as a must-have.

I love Bon Chon. Ive been eating here for years. They used to be very busy but recently its not as busy, maybe because they opened other locations.I always order Small wings half & half with radish and potstickers half & half (spicy and garlic soy). Thats enough for 2 people. Theyre both very good!! I like the flavors. I wish they are more generous with the sauce because thats the best part and sometimes the wings arent covered fully with sauce. Spicy flavor is actually spicy (not white spicy) so you might not want to order it if you cant handle spicy food.They recently introduced a new flavor called Yang Yum. Its more flavorful than the 2 existing flavors and way less spicy. Ill select just this flavor next time.

This is my first visit to Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken Restaurant. I visited the one located in E. El Camino Real near Sunnyvale. It is tucked in a corner in a shopping strip. The ambience is mediocre but the food items were very delicious. I ordered Takoyaki (Octopus Dumplings) for starters, a plate of boneless chicken wings, Bull Dak and an order of Fries.The chicken wings were very Juicy and flavorful a bit on the sweeter side for Soy Garlic flavor. The fries tasted fresh. The Bull Dak though advertised as spicy could use some more chilly heat and some extra mozzarella cheese but tasted good. The waiting staff were very friendly and the order was delivered to the table in a reasonable timeframe. Though I have not tried their other dishes like Bulgogi, Bonchon wrap, etc., overall, I give a thumbs up to this Korean Fried Chicken chain.

First time having Bonchon in Sunnyvale as I have only been to the Blossom Hill, San Jose, location before.The service here was very friendly.The food was okay but it just didn’t taste as good as my previous experience at the other location. Was also surprised that they don’t have fried rice at this location.Wasn’t a bad experience, just wasn’t what I was looking forward to.

I liked their 5-drumstick meal (comes with one side). The chicken was fresh and tasty. I must admit that I ger confused as to which flavors/spices I want to order.I do urge management to brighten the lights. It was way too dark inside – more like a late-night bar than a daytime restaurant. The decor is third rate.The wait staff was cordial and patient.There is plenty of free parking in the mall lot.Bon chon does a lot of take-out business.

Pretty good Korean fried chicken place! I got the 5piece drums with both sauces, and it really hit the spot!The spicy sauce is at a good, strong spice level, so definitely keep that in mind. The original sauce is very tasty as well. The chicken drumsticks have good layer of crispness on the outside, but still tender on the inside. Can’t ask more than that!

This place used to be good. The wings are too dry now and they overcharge. Legit got a new rice bowl from them to go, called them because the portion was so small. The staff didnt even know this was a menu item and I had to argue with them that I ordered it from there. On top of this, I ordered pick up, got there at my pickup time, restaurant was empty and I still had to wait an additional 10 min because they forgot about my order. Legit seriously poor customer service.Lets see what their response is to this paltry chicken bowl...Do yourself a favor and order from VONS down the street. I dont like their marinade as much but overall experience is 100% better.

Bonchon is my to go food when it comes to korean fried chicken. We usually get medium size of 20 wings for two of us. Personally I love the spicy chicken, its one of the best and the other flavor is soy sauce. The spicy sauce sometimes not that consistent given that it can be quite spicy sometimes and the other time its just okay. For the price of 20 wings its quite worthed and also comes with 20 coleslaw. I always use uber eats to get it delivered during pandemic, the only down side is that the chicken wont be as crispy as dine it but the upside is no need to drive.

Korean style fried chicken. We had the sweet garlic and minor spicy with kimchi cole slaw style. It was a good side dish. The main meal was crunchy and delicious. It was prepared fast and efficient. Great staff. IMO, i considered it a snack/ meal. Somewhat good wings and drumstick size legs. We also had the takoyaki.octopus with edible fish flakes as garnish. We all tried, but not a fan.

Was out in the bay area on a work trip and planned a lunch with co-workers here. This was our regular lunch spot to hit way back when I lived in the bay area and so try to hit it when visiting. We typically get half spicy/half regular on the chicken tenders and boneless chicken along with lychee soju. No different this time. Food was delish and the sogu was sweet. We had a good time.

Love the soy garlic korean fried chicken here. Service was very fast for me. The takoyaki was decent but I probably wouldnt order it again. It is a chicken place anyway so Id say stick with the chicken. The batter is super crispy and the flavor is great. All around a solid place to go. The spicy flavor is very spicy for me though. So make sure your tolerance is there before you order it.

I started coming to this bonchon early in the year. I honestly love how good the soy chicken is, and the spicy flavor is just enough to give you that spicy flavor. The employees are really nice and they take care of you right away.It can take around 20-30 minutes for your order to be ready if you didn’t order online before heading there, but overall. This place does not put enough sauce on their chicken. When I asked if I could buy more, the cashier said we can’t modify your order. I asked if I could just buy it. She wouldn’t let me do that either. I’ve had Korean fried chicken from many other places and it’s always covered adequately in sauce. Who wants a half dry piece of chicken?! I won’t be returning because the partially sauced chicken is a recurring thing for this location and it feels like a rip off at the prices they charge. At least if the customer was better, I’d consider patronizing them again but that’s as dry as the chicken.

My 1st visit to Bonchon was sometime early April 22. I generally dont like to eat chicken because my parents used to always make chicken dishes. When they fried chicken, it would be dry and chewy. I decided to try Bonchon because I like Korean food. My waiter was Rory (I believe thats his name). He was the only Caucasian waiter at that time. He was fantastic!!! Well, I tried their garlic/soy sauce chicken; and Wow!!! it was incredibly tasty and tender inside. Since then, I have gone back several times. I went for take out on Mothers Day. There was Rory again. Same as the 1st time. Very personable, friendly, and checked a couple of times if my order was ready. He really made me feel like a valued customer. Great food, great service.

I was accidentally introduced to bonchon a few years back as we were planning on eating elsewhere and ended up getting this instead and this is by far the best accident I’ve ever had.The Korean fried chicken here is one of the best forms of fast food I’ve eaten in the bay. The wings and drumsticks are crispy and tender at the same time and the serving is pretty large for the price. Highly recommend!

The flavour stayed with me for a long time. This truly is my favourite fried chicken of all time. Its a small and not very modern spot but worth it. The biscuits were rich, but I felt that they were just average. Spicy chicken and Asian-American fusion. You will get a southern taste too, which is their philosophy actually based on. This is another restaurant where you need to try the different sides different times - specially the Kim chi Coleslaw and Seasoned Fried which are their specialties too. Also, had one of the best noodle soup here; they call it something like Udon, which is super tasty if you take it hot. Also, this place grew my appetite and interest to Korean dishes and their own style of fowl roasting.

Im not generally a fan of Korean food, but two friends recommended this place and I happened to pass by it one night so gave it a try. The restaurant interior is simple but the never-ending line demonstrates the popularity of this place, with a separate line dedicated just for take out. The menu is essentially many different types of chicken with sides. The food I ordered was very tasty, reasonably priced, and made to go fairly quickly. Id eat here again.

This was my first time having Korean fried chicken, and I thought it was okay. We were a party of 7 and we came on a weekend night pretty late in Jan 2018, but we still had to wait for around 15 minutes. We decided to go with the large combo (15 wings, 8 drums) with sides of kimchi coleslaw, pickled radish, and kimchi, and an order of Tteokbokki. The spicy flavor was quite delicious but I thought it could have been bolder. The soy garlic was okay too. The skin was really crispy and delicious and the chicken was tender, but the chicken itself was lacking flavor; except for the skin, the chicken meat didnt have any flavor. The kimchi coleslaw was delicious; never had anything like it. The vegetables tasted fresh and the flavor was good. Kimchi was good too, and the pickled radish was fresh and crunchy. The Tteokbokki was basically a bowl of sauce; there was a significant lack of rice cakes, fish cakes, and other ingredients. If you took away the sauce, the bowl probably wouldnt even be half-full. Also, the rice cakes were a bit overcooked as they were too soft. In general, Im not super impressed with this place; meat was significantly lacking in flavor and prices were really high with low quantity. Our meal came out to be $58 post-tax post-tip (gratuity was included since we had a big group), so essentially each person paid a bit more than $8 for 1 drum, 2 wings, and a scoop of lots of red sauce and 3-5 rice cakes. Not a fan!

BonChon chicken is a great place to go if you’re craving perfectly fried chicken. It’s now my new favorite place to get chicken wings. Although it’s a very, very close tie with Buffalo Wild Wings and Dominoes wings. One of the best parts about the chicken is that it isn’t dripping with a ton of sauce but it’s still really flavorful. The spicy wings were the only things I ate and they were really good. The skin was crispy and spicy. The chicken itself without the skin was also really good.The drumsticks were pretty big and it goes really well with Sprite and probably any other soda BonChon serves. I think that I would’ve liked it better with some spicy sauce like a Mango Habanero sauce or something though. If BonChon served sauce, (which I’m not sure they do) I definitely would have tried it. Since the spicy chicken and sprite was the only thing I had there I don’t really have any other things to say about anything else. I would definitely go here again but not too often since it isn’t the best thing to eat if you want to be healthy.

Bonchon! Amazing fried chicken! This stuff is dangerous so Im glad its not that close to home. Theres often a line at this location, but its next to a comic book store if you need to kill some time while you wait for a table. The service is quick and the food has always been perfectly crisp and fresh. The ONLY complaint I have is that the floor gets a little slippery around the bathrooms, so watch your step.

Fell short of my expectations.The menu says to expect chicken to take up to half an hour to be ready so I was a bit surprised when they brought out the food in about 30 seconds; not sure if that is a good or bad thing.The chicken comes in two flavors, soy sauce and spicy of which the former is too salty and the latter too spicy for most. The chicken itself was semi-crunchy but on the dry side. When ordering, you get the option of a few different combinations of wings and drumsticks. Each order of chicken comes with a complimentary side of pickled daikon radishes (a must to refresh your palate). Most fried chicken establishments will give you a salad as well but this location does not.I found the overall experience to be somewhat on par but still slightly lacking as compared to other similar fried chicken places in the area.

Have only tried their wings and drums with the garlic/soy and hot sauces; both are good and are complemented by the pickled radish. You also get a choice of a side, such as kimchi, coleslaw or white rice. They have a whole sit down menu that I havent gotten to yet.There is a small bar that seats about 5 and maybe 15 small tables, so they get really crowded during dinner hours, but it seems to go in waves; try your luck and you might be seated immediately. Takeout is popular, but dont bother calling, as they either dont answer or put you on hold and never come back (10 minutes before I hung up and went to Vons down the street - they have online ordering!) Evaluate your options; there are better choices!

I am beyond disappointed in myself for not trying this place sooner - I have lived here for over a year without experiencing Bon Chon Chicken.SO - these arent your typical chicken wings. They are cooked to perfection. The flavoring is absolutely incredible and the skin is so so so so so delicious. It is the perfect kind of crunchy. So I went to check this place out after reading all the great reviews. We were a group of 4. To sit in, you have to sign into the little notebook they have in the front counter. We were told itd be a 10-15 minute wait, but after waiting 30 minutes, and seeing that 2 other groups larger than us got seated first and that there were 3-4 open tables available, we began to feel frustrated. After finally being seated, the service was fast. The waiter gave us menus right away, and brought us water immediately. The fried chicken was really good, really crispy--KFC just dont match this unique level of crispiness. I love that with korean fried chicken you get crispiness and crunch without so much oiliness. The glass noodle dish was really good too - a little spicy (like when food has lots of black pepper). We ordered a medium combo, a medium chicken strips, the japchae, and tteobokki and we ate our hearts out, but had chicken, glass noodle, and almost the entire tteobokki dish. Reasonable priced as well. Will definitely look forward to coming again, but maybe not during the lunch hour rush.

This is a review for their customer service.I had a pretty terrible experience with their service. We waited patiently for 50 minutes for our food, but after the next table who had just sat down received their food within 5-10 minutes we decided to just ask for them to box it.The waitress not only cut us off in the middle of asking, she waved her finger in our faces.Not once did anyone let us know what was going on, nor did they even check up on us. So I just got up and went to the cashier to pay for my drink and fries then the waitress came running up to me and says that they lost my ticket. LOST THE TICKET??? But even then I wasnt mad, I just didnt want to wait any longer and then I realized that the waitress never even apologized for the delay.Normally I would have just let it go but her attitude just stunned me. I receive better service at McDonalds than here.I am more disgruntled at the owner of the place than the waitress though. Had to give at least one star, because it wouldnt let you give less. ONE OF THE WORST RESTURANTS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. horible service, waitress totally screwed up our order. Brought my plate only, didnt even place the order for my wife, then when mine arrived, she said oh I thought you were just sharing his. Didnt bring any napkins, didnt bring any forks and knifes. The place was dirty. Staff had no idea how to ring up our bill. Octopus salad was horrible. Almost threw it up latter. Pukahauntis!!! Dont go here.

Weve been to three different Bon Chon locations -- two in Virginia and this one in Sunnyvale. Its become apparent to me that theres substantial variation between each instance. The first time we had Bon Chon chicken in VA, it was absolutely fantastic. Every time we went back to THAT location, it was equally good (and it took a while to get your order cooked). The other location we went to in VA wasnt anywhere near as good.This location in Sunnyvale is the worst of the three. The time from when I placed my order till it was made available was a scant 10 or 12 minutes, and Im pretty sure thats not enough time to do proper Bon Chon preparation. And what that does is make the chicken taste like what you can get anywhere else.So if anyone from Bon Chon World Headquarters is paying attention, Im pretty sure they should head in and do a little quality control on their locations, because some of them just arent taking the time to prepare the products properly. Bon Chon chicken is EXCELLENT when its cooked right. Too bad this location doesnt do that.

Been here a few times; they will seat smaller parties far sooner than later parties despite the smaller parties getting there later. Its best to walk in and let them know instead of waiting outside. KFC for Asians means KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN... and Bon Chon seriously delivers. You cant find fried chicken like this with an unbelievably thin and crispy skin in many other places this joint does it perfectly. If you havent tried Korean style fried chicken before, this is the place to go that will convert you over from the Colonel. The kimchi coleslaw a lot of people rave about isnt that special (seriously just imagine normal coleslaw with some kimchi thrown in), so just stick with the basics of fried chicken here and pig out. Weve been here over a handful of times and it has been a good experience. We have been here at different times as well (I.e., lunch rush, dinner rush, when its slowish). This time though I dont know. Im just curious...what is the point of having a handicap accessible table if it isnt even offered to someone who is handicap?So we came in today with my boyfriend and his grandma. The waiting bench was full, so I had her sit at the handicap accessible table. A waiter came up setting the handicap table and the table right next to it. As he was doing so, I let him know that were just waiting to be seated. And he responds with, Im just setting up the table and going down the list. That was RUDE! I was thinking it was for us, since my boyfriends grandma has a cane an all; unfortunately, it was for the next group that had three people for their party and no one is handicap. Also, there were a handful of other tables open for them.All in all, our server and his service, the tall guy with long hair and glasses, was awesome. Maybe his name is David as stated on the bill, mayn it wasnt. He was patient, friendly, and very attentive. He communicated well when he was brough out our order. He has great customer service! He kept the star count for this review up! If not for the rudeness and inconsiderateness of one of the other servers, it wouldve been a five!
