Bopomofo Cafe in Artesia

Been to the original Pasadena location before, but couldn’t help to make another trip to their second location on a different visit to town because it’s just that good!I love the mapo tofu tots - you gotta get it with an egg on top! And the popcorn chicken was also solid. There’s something about the Taiwanese meets Western fusion that I really do love about Bopomofo and how it was started up. The drinks are also top notch and I like the unique flavor combinations that come from an original tea shop compared to franchises.Seating can be pretty tough to come by because of how popular the restaurant is, but I like how there is some smaller outdoor seating with side tables provided as well that works if you don’t have too large a group. It does get pretty hot out there though so I hope you’re wearing sunscreen 🤣

If this Merry Berry is not Christmas in a cup, I don’t know what is! It’s soooo good 🤩 The seasonal menu items are all great, but for food I’ve decided on getting the Hainan chicken tacos… one word: YUMMM!!! Also, I wish I had more time to stay and dined in, the natural light shining in would have been perfect for a boba-and-read session. Next time!!

If you order any of their signature drinks, I highly recommend going for the Strawberry Corn Milk; its worth it every time. It brings back fond memories of enjoying different Southeast Asian sweet corn desserts, but in a delightful drink form.Bopomofo is a fantastic addition to the Cerritos/Artesia area, and their boba always comes out fresh. The new location is much bigger than their SGV one, but it still delivers the same great taste as the original. I cant wait to go back and try more drinks and foods; everything was delightfully juicy and fresh, especially the popcorn chicken. The option to choose between white or dark meat for the popcorn chicken is a nice touch, and the la rou plate boasts a hearty and flavorful experience.

Excellent boba shop! I have been searching for good boba and happy I finally found a place. You can actually taste the tea but not too bitter. It is sweet and creamy. I also ordered the spicy popcorn chicken. I think it’s spicy but I can’t do spice so it might be a good about of spice for average person. The strawberry basil ginger lemonade is also really good. I thought the ginger will be overpowering but its a kiss of ginger. Overall good experience 🩷

The milk tea is ok for me, not really standout. The foods look amazing tho. Will come back to try the taiwanese chicken.

Blown away by the selection of unique drinks here!! Bopomofo definitely did NOT disappoint. Service was also exceptional. We had to wait for a while because the system came down with internet issues but the barista still made our experience go so smoothly by chatting it up and manually taking our orders! Would recommend

Went to Bopomofo to try their drinks and food. There was an incredibly long wait even after ordering online. We ordered the taiwanese fried chicken and mapo tofu poutine with some of their drinks including their milk tea and carrot matcha drink. The food was ok but the drinks were definitely the worst part. They were bland and had a very off putting taste to them. Definitely would not recommend.

I have been waiting to try this restaurant since it first opened and I finally got to do that this evening. Their food and drink did not disappoint. The walnut shrimp burger was on point! The all-shrimp patty was crunchy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. It was well worth the money and the calories! I also tried their jasmine milk tea - it has a great tea flavor. I will definitely come back!

Too be honest it was a great experience. I tried to order online to skip the line but it was problematic because there were errors on it which was frustrating - for example, the codes sent to me to log in kept saying there’s an error and when I entered my payment information there wasn’t a visible area to type in my billing address and it wouldn’t go through unless I did. I ended up driving to the story to order and the wait on the food was 20 minutes but it was REALLY fresh and well made. I got the Taiwanese chicken sandwich, the dark meat popcorn chicken (which I think is more fatty and juicy than the white meat, which is more dry - depends on what you like), and the strawberry corn milk boba 25% sugar less ice. The boba drink airs on the side of less sweet than other boba places, which I appreciate. I feel like I’ve had more cue and chewy boba but it was good still. Overall it was a good experience! Would recommend trying at least once.The store was also super cute and the staff was really friendly!!

Really loved the unique Taiwanese inspired dishes. Didnt get to try everything, but my friends and I liked the lu rou fan, popcorn chicken, and the pineapple french toast.Their popcorn chicken (with dark meat) was probably my favorite! The sauces paired with the chicken was the cherry on top.Their drinks are creative and delicious as well. Their strawberry basil ginger lemonade paired nicely with the flavorful savory foods.Would definitely love to come back and try more of the menu items when Im in town!
