We managed to get last minute seating in the patio area for 4 people and can only say that it was the most unbelievable meal from starters to desert. My husband, who has travelled the world and eaten food prepared by world famous Chefs came away saying this meal exceeded anything he has ever eaten. If able he would rate it worthy of a Mitchelin STAR.

What a gem! This is perfect for date night or intimate dinner with friends.I came in for dinner at 5pm with a couple friends and were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The host gave us the specials of the night and piloted some delicious wine.Server was really nice and gave good recommendations. For appetizers we tried deviled eggs and pork belly. Must try!!I had the Broccoli Cheddar soup, followed by the salmon. DELICIOUS!My friends both had the Wedge Salad and Chicken Breast with Mushroom sauce and they devoured every last bite!

This Restaurant is such a hidden gem. I’ve past by so many times until my niece purchased me an e-gift card is when I noticed. I’m so excited that she did, because this place may be small in size but it is just right for a cozy meal.Our waitress Aubrey was excellent including the waitress that was assisting her with refreshing our water.We decided to go with there special two New York Steaks with Asparagus & French Fries also a bottle of Martin Ray Sonoma Coast, Pinot Noir. The food was seasoned to perfection and oh! so juicy. For Desert we had the Cilantro Lemon Sorbet and Chocolate Torte.Everything was delicious. We will return.Our hats off to the Chef. Thanks for such an awesome meal.

What an amazing experience! The food was amazing & the quaint atmosphere of the restaurant made the experience even better. Big shout out to our server Aiden who was very helpful & personable. The entire staff supporting the dining experience was very professional & seemed to care about doing a great job. The only reason I gave Service a four-star is because when we arrived (which was about 10 minutes early for our reservation) the hostess told us that it would be a short wait (thats understandable) . Our reservation was at 8pm and we saw several groups leaving & at 805 I inquired about our seating status and was told it would be another 15 minutes. I kinda got irritated & reminded her that our reservation was at 8pm...(I think she was on auto-pilot with her response to me about the wait) ....very shortly thereafter we were seated & thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the evening. I highly recommend & plan on visiting again.

I have read so many good reviews so We decided to celebrate here our 12 year wedding anniversary.It’s probably the heat? Outside temperature was 99F. Looks like the ac in that building didn’t hold up. While in the building it feels like around85-95F inside. In short we are not comfortable at all.The service was NOT GREAT AT ALL.The food is okay not really worth $30 or $40 per plate on my opinion. I was expecting atleast a decent service and a decent food. No wow factor. I’ve spent $100+20% tip overall I wouldn’t recommend the place.Won’t be coming back to this establishment.

Extremely nice spot in an older house. Service was definitely refined and on point. The duck confit was very good but also very rich. The salmon was very delicious and I would recommend it to just about anyone. The bone marrow appetizer was very good. I just wish it had a few more pieces of toast and more of the arugula salad to go with it. Still it was very good and I would get it again. Overall, this is a great place to go in Elk Grove!

This was the first time that we went to this place. It is an nice quaint place with really nice ambience. Our mistake was that it was Fathers Day and we decided to go for lunch and did not have any reservations. The people at the front desk were really nice but the wait was too long so we decided to leave but we are planning to definitely come back as different friends of ours have told us how nice the food is. The next time were definitely going to make reservations.

I met a friend here for dinner. I ordered the salmon. It was very good. I would definitely order it again. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Hats off to the chef. My wife and I went here and it was better than I couldve imagined. The inside of the restaurant looks like my dream dinning room. The atmosphere was so relaxed and intimate. The staff was attentive, we never had to ask for refills or wait for cleanup. The cooks prepared a perfect meal. The GPS directions were a bit confusing, but the restaurant had well placed signs pointing to the back of the building for parking. The only bad thing about this place is that only one exists.

Comfortable, easy going staff. The restaurant is in a beautiful older home. The food is perfection. My friend and I split the strawberry salad, which had the perfect combination of flavors. Nothing that overpowered the other flavors. Then, I ordered the salmon. I make salmon at home, but not like this! The salmon was cooked so that there was a crust on top and the rest was incredibly moist. The beurre blanc sauce was just right and, again, the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Oh, and did I mention the bread that they make fresh there? We had Christopher Cellars Chardonnay which is the best Chardonnay that I have ever had. So smooth! It could not have been better. Highly, highly recommended.

A few years ago, I had made a reservation for our anniversary but didnt realize I had fat fingered the date. We ended up being one week late. Since Boulevard Bistro is so cozy, and reservations tight, we were out of luck. We completely understood and simply went somewhere else. Fast forward to this year and we finally get to have a table for our 9th anniversary. Service was outstanding as was all of the food except one item. Heres what we had...Appetizer: Crab Rillettes (Awesome, we couldnt get enough)Wifes Salad: Wedge Salad (shes a salad lover and absolutely loved this one.My Salad: Strawberry Salad (I also loved it)EntreesWife: Pistachio Crusted Halibut (Fantastic, we both loved it)Mine: Ribeye Medium Rare (Though the steak was perfectly MR and very flavorful, this cut had quite a bit of gristle. I realize ribeye steaks have some fat marbling but this wasnt that. Much of it was tough to chew and I have had better cuts at Outback. Dont get me wrong, I still devoured it like a caveman and really enjoyed it but it simply was not the grade of meat you would expect from a Zagat rated restaurant.Desert: We shared the Crème brulee (the caramelized top and inner custard was awesome)Overall though, I would definitely recommend. Well be going back and based on the excellence of all the other menu items we ordered, we simply drew the short straw on the ribeye. I suspect its probably a much better steak on any other night.

Unfortunately after being a happy and very satisfied customer for many years, I have found myself disappointed in this restaurant recently. Had the halibut a few visits ago and it was overcooked and had the consistency of being previously frozen. A new halibut dish was on the menu tonight with herb gnocchi and it sounded delicious. It wasnt. It was overcooked again with the same consistency of being previously frozen. On top of that I was given a pittance of 2 1/2 gnocchi and less than one spoonful of fresh vegetables. It was, frankly, insulting. $42 down the drain. On top of that I was in the mood for oysters and ordered a half dozen on the menu. They were extremely small and lukewarm. Maybe thats on me for not asking how big they were, but the last time I had oysters there they were larger and served on ice. So, long-winded way of saying I spent $69 for low quality food that didnt even fill me up. I am just not used to this from this restaurant. Maybe part of it is the current inflationary environment were in, but man, if youre going to charge more you need to at least deliver. They havent lately for me. And now I doubt I will give them another shot on any seafood items. Maybe the pork chop bc that takes real work to mess up. Sad.

Do not be misled by the somewhat improvisatory connotation of bistro. This restaurant is serious about food, wine, and classical tradition. That is a good thing. And a rare one.The food is innovative. The respect for quality ingredients and careful, intelligent combination of their flavors and textures is everywhere evident. You dont find formulas. You find art.The wine list is small but equally well thought out. I am moved to trust it.In sum, this place is a treasure. It is not for a night when your first impulse is pizza and brews. This used to be our go to for our anniversary and other special occasions. Food is great, ambiance is warm and cozy, servers are attentive. We dont go there as often anymore since we already tried everything in their menu and more, so that alone tells you how much we loved the place. Pretty cute place. I grew up in Elk Grove and never realized there was a place like this hidden away in old EG. Its quaint and nicely decorated. Its part casual, part upscale. It can be a long wait, so if you dont mind the wait in a cramped spot, its great food. Moderate pricing, simple and small menu. very good overall. I usually have more of a savory craving at brunch, but I got the French toast and was not disappointed. Chunks of apple and all. Mimosa and cocktails were interesting and delicious. Id try it again.

If you go when they are busy expect certain delays, it is A SINGLE CHEF. But the quality of the food is as close to perfection as it could be. The service provided was extremely polite from all the staff and extremely informative. I felt like I was a king, and I had the worlds best personal chef. I could honestly go on forever about how EXTREMELY satisfied I was with the whole experience. I would highly recommend to try it for yourself, because I feel neither words or pictures do the food and service any justice. Let your taste buds be the judge of the food and your personal experience be the judge of service. Oh and the price was on par to what you get, not expensive at all for the quality. 100 Stars if I could!

We came dressed up for what was supposed to be a special brunch reservation for my husband and I while the majority of people around us were extremely casual. Our waiter twice completely ignored our attempts to politely get his attention tho clearly making eye contact. When asked about an ingredient in the drink my husband ordered, another server pled ignorance then after we explained our interest, she finally agreed to go ask the kitchen - she NEVER returned and we were never given an answer. The food was as spectacular as has been touted but the service left an ugly taste in our mouths. Perhaps dinner service is better but for what they charge at brunch, we should not have had such a poor experience.

Taste buds are very happy. Brunch was phenomenal! I forgot about this place in Elk Grove and usually head to Sac for an upscale brunch. Well that changes today! The food and the service was spot-on classy. We went without a reservation for an 11 am meal and had about a 15 min wait. We were offered a mimosa or coffee, so who would complain about that wait?? In the future, I would definitely make a reservation because I would be very disappointed if we showed up and couldn’t get in. So glad I was reminded we have an amazing restaurant right here in Elk Grove serving delicious gourmet food!

Each dish, from the salad to the entree to the dessert, made us want to dissect every bite to figure out why it tasted so good. Why was a certain fruit used in the shrimp cocktail? This quaint little house-to-restaurant conversion was a fabulous experience, with a menu that offered just enough specialties (not overwhelming with choices-thank goodness) and a lovely setting, however, we had a party of 10. I believe our party was too large for their kitchen as our food took 45 minutes to an 1 hours to be served. Fortunately we were amongst good company and we ordered about 5 appetizers that kept us busy until our entrees were ready. All of the appetizers were great. I could have made that my meal if the portions were bigger.The bread they served was so fresh and delicious, I had to refrain from over indulging. I ordered the chicken confit with mushroom sauce - a special for the day and it was incredibly mouthwatering! We brought our own wine and the corking fee was $20 each - not unexpected. While there, a senior gentleman got on his knees before a señor redhead and announced their 40th anniversary. Next thing I know, we all were served a glass of champagne to celebrate their lifetime of happiness - to think - he chose Boulevard Bistro as his venue says a lot. Ill be back, but in smaller numbers.

Went here yesterday for brunch with my husband and kid. We had the filet mignon, spring omelet and french toast. With the deviled eggs for an appetizer.My kid inhaled everything and wanted more!It was all so delicious!Date night will be next up so I can try that wine selection 💖🍷

You need reservations to eat at this restaurant. My fiance took me here after proposing in the daytime at the vineyard with the friends. So at night, he thought this will be a nice romantic restaurant for us to celebrate because he read online that was the best vote restaurant in Elk Grove. I dont know if thats the truth.Its a tiny restaurant inside and food was NOT up to my expectation.

We seem to always go for special occasions and Birthdays.I almost do not want to say anything as I want it to stay a secret! Lol! Make sure you make reservations several days a head of time. I miss the old Elk Grove, having coffee, amongst veterans whom I could overhear sharing their war exploits, while reading SacBee, in a white-painted tiny café.This white-linen tiny but cozy house converted to a restaurant brings me back those days. Quite perfect for an unforgettable dinner with one’s significant other. The gourmet food, the ambiance and service are a given but revisiting the past is a bonus. Clever concept. Favorite little romantic restaurant in Elk Grove! Get the bone marrow, filet mignon and the lemon pana Cotta and you wont regret it. There was a lobster special recently and even though it was good it was way over priced. Basically my husband and I got a $9 bite of lobster each. Reasonably priced otherwise. The bread they serve with your meal is superb! Make reservations way in advance. 😊

A little on the expensive side, you *do* get what you pay for. In Elk Grove...heck I will go so far as to say, in the whole of Sacramento, you wont find a better, more honest approach to upper class French cuisine, all sourced as locally as the chef can. The greens are fresh, vibrant and full of flavor. The meats, succulent and juicy, and the desserts...well, just save some room!

The restaurant is located on the south side of Elk Grove Blvd as you proceed east into Old Town Elk Grove, east of Elk Grove Florin Road. Its across the street diagonally from La Favorita Taqueria. The restaurant is located in one of the little old homes with parking to the rear of the business. The entrance is in the front but there is access from the parking area via a ramp, walkway and stairs. The ramp and access plus inside the restaurant appear to be ADA compliant
