Been here more than several times. There is indoor & outdoor seating, and the food quality is always consistent. Good service, and food is prepared quickly, although I do prefer to go during non-busy times. Great for groups, families and singles, and there are lots of vegetarian options. They are located inside the South Shore Shopping Mall (if you park in the front area, take the path next to Applebees.)My favorites are the seafood pancake, squid tempura, seafood & tofu soup and the mushroom & tofu soup with banchans. I really need to try more dishes!!

Really comforting Korean food in Alameda! I got the Vegetable Rice Buns and Spicy Ramen with Kimchi...both were so good! The Vegetable Rice Buns were simple yet tasty and a comfort food I will definitely have again. Theyre great if you need something simple yet nourishing. The Spicy Ramen has an amazing broth and with kimchi its even better! This place is a bit pricey but its worth it!

Huge...and I mean really huge...portions of healthy, delicious food, and extremely fast service. Very reasonable prices. Super friendly toward families with small children. The slushy drinks are 10/10 delicious! We will definitely be coming back soon.

Nothing beats Korean soft tofu stew on a cold winter day. The place is convenient. It is popular among the young adults. The tofu soup itself can use more flavor, perhaps more soybean paste. It feels a bit watery. The beef itself is a little tough. Normally it should be in smaller bite size pieces that go easily with the tofu and soup. It is a nice quick fix.

This place is always good when we go. We only have tried the bowls so far. Most of the meal is great with a few misses here and there. The spicy pork belly is nothing to rave about, although the spare ribs are. Those are my absolute favorite. Its flavorful and goes well with the rice and veggies. Who doesnt like meat and rice! The pickled veggies are ok, Im not a huge pickled fan. They give you a lot of food, enough to get full and have left overs. The bowl comes hot so be careful to not burn yourself but you also know your food is warm and ready to enjoy. Atmosphere is a regular casual restaurant and the service has been great. It gets busy around prime eating times like dinner as well.

Order the fried chicken ( half spicy and half regular) togo. Chicken was too dry and like eating cardboard. It used to my favorite place for fried chicken but not anymore. Also the salad that comes with the fried chicken is not fresh at all. The veggies smells like it has been sitting for awhile (over a week). Bad overall quality.

Great Korean barbecue. I got the spicy beef stew (extra spicy) with rice, shrimp tempura, and Bowl’d wings to go. Take out took about 20 minutes so I had a beer at the bar while I waited. All of the food was fantastic, especially the wings. I could eat those wings every day. All in all it was a great experience. I will be back!

This is my first Korean restaurant. I arrived at 3pM. I ordered the the works Szzling Rice meal with BBQ chicken. It came with all the side dishes in the pic attached. The red sauce had a nice heat to it. The whole meal was incredible. The flavors were wonderful. And the service was also great. A first class experience. Oh yeah, I also had a peach slush with was also very tasty and unique. I will enjoy going here whenever I am in Alameda.

Came on a Sunday night around 9pm. not many customers so the restaurant was pretty quiet other than the music playing in the background. the portions I got for the spicy ramen and the kimchi fried rice are pretty big and with side dishes, they sure filled me and my boyfriend up quickly. The food was wonderful and I especially liked the quick service, probably because not many orders were going through the kitchen? love the interior of the restaurant, it was very pretty and atmospheric! Would definitely come again

I was here pre-pandemic and was very impressed with the food but not impressed enough to write a review. Post-pandemic, my friend and I visited again and we were so very impressed with the courteous services we received. The dishes were all very delicious and of generous portions. What prompted this review was because we received much better services than those at places that serve $38+/Entrée. Every time a staff member passed us, he/she would ask if we needed anything or would like more of the small appetizer dishes. They were passing our table often; there was never any need to try to get their attention as we had to do in most of the other restaurants now-a-days. Every wait staff was super attentive and courteous. Being seniors, we were touched by these hardworking and polite, kind and genuinely sweet staff. They treated us with respect, no ageism whatsoever, just plain excellent services. What a treat in this day and age!

Went in around 3pm or so. The staff was friendly and large portions of food were served quickly. I ordered poorly ($25 pork belly that tasted like charcoal).What really grinds my gears is the 18% service charge hidden in the bill + the suggestion to tip 18-22%. They have the balls to ask for up to 40% tip, and most people dont looked at the bill and surely throw in another 20% or so without realizing theyvealready charged 18%. That alone is enough to keep me from going back.

This used to be my go-to place, but something changed recently. The menu is a little different, and they definitely jacked up the price for the BBQ grill dishes. They used to be around $14, and now $28. Inflation did not go up 100%, but I assume its to help the other BBQ across the alley, which has same ownership. The Sizzling Works had a very different, chewy texture and did not feel fresh like before.

The food was great but unfortunately my experience was completely ruined by one individual, the closing manager. He was incredibly rude. We walked shortly after daiso closed around 8. The hostess and sever were very nice but mid way through our meal the closing manager came from the back and kept making comments loud enough for people to hear about how sad that he came on his day off and now hes closing. At another point he said what time are you leaving and we looked directly at him and he started rushing towards us like we called him. I said no were still eating. By 9:30 I was beginning to question whether he was drinking because he was blatantly rude. My partner paid on his way to the bathroom even though me and my daughter were still eating our soup. Then he handed me containerd and a bag as I had my spoon and chop sticks in hand. I could not believe his forwardness. I was so upset by his demeanour and behavior that I asked for the manager. Turns out he was the manager and that conversation was even more of disappointment as he gave me fake apologies as he laughed. I still cant believe someone like that is a manager and working in food service.

The Korean fried chicken was incredible. Took me 2 meals to finish it all though, so maybe share with a friend or two? It was a bit pricey with the $25 service charge added in for our table though. There is outdoor seating here but they couldnt accommodate our party of 8 outside (we did add 2 more people to the reservation, so not blaming them for that).

The food was really good and the portions were huge. The service was good as well.I only had a small issue with my wifes plate because the chicken wasnt fully cooked, so we told the waiter and they gave us the option to retire the plate or send a new one to thw table which i considered an amazing option. I guess in other places the waiter would have taken our plate to just put the meat on the grill to fully cook it and that was it, but here they set a new plate with even bigger side portions (salad, noodles, veggies)

First time here. I arrived at 9:30 p.m. (30 minutes before closing) on a Saturday evening, and they said they were no longer seating (a little strange, since there were still people sat at the restaurant), so I ordered a seafood pancake and a medium spiced seafood beef kimchee tofu soup to go. They said I could sit at the bar while I waited, which was nice, but it would have been better if they at least offered a glass of water. To go packaging was great; they used recyclable containers and plastic sealing which avoids spillage. I didnt expect to receive any ban chan (little extra side dishes) since my order was to go, but they included four of them. This was a nice added touch. The soup had plenty of tofu and seafood, but no beef. I think they forgot. It was somewhat bland tasting. The seafood pancake was OK, not very crispy, but maybe because it was sealed in a container. Overall, this place was just OK. I was not wowed by the service not the food. Would I come back? Perhaps, if I was in the area, Id give it another chance to try other selections.

The food is absolutely superb and it comes out quickly. My friend and I are working our way through the menu (although its hard to stray from the Sizzling Works) and we have yet to stumble upon something either of us dislikes. The staff is very courteous and attentive, usually with multiple people checking on us throughout the meal rather than just one point person. Food comes in generous portions, we come here after work outs when were famished and not only do we leave satiated, but usually with some to take home as well! Today June 20, 2021 a family decided to go out for dinner. We arrived, waited and waited....staffs doesnt bother to ask or say anything. Once seated, waited and waited until I said enough and call someone to take order. Long story short, once ordered a staff has attitude. Waitress brought the food out, drop a piece of meat on the table...she doesnt bother to say anything or pickup. I was shocked and uneasy because if this is how the presentation is then we have a long dinner. More food out, order mild but their definition of old is still soicy...unless u tell them no spicy at all. The waitress suggestion add water to make it not spicy..I dont get that taste any good. I was fed up with how it goes, so I just said to her its ok lets move on. I am done...my first be my last.

Pretty good service whenever I went. Love the side dishes and most of the food, especially the hot bowls. If you don’t really like garlic, try to avoid the soups as they tend to be heavy on garlic, you will find chunks of diced garlic at the bottom. There was 1 dish I didn’t like however, I don’t know if it was just bad luck, but the fish cake soup was really salty to the point where it was undrinkable to me. (And I really like salty foods.) I have only been there 3 times since writing this review and will most likely go back more often. (So take my review with a grain of salt.)

This place is ... alright. The food is decent and the service is decent as well. But some servers need to be trained on how to work effectively during rush hours to minimize the duration of waiting for costumers in line. I could tell that a couple of servers do not have enough experience to work an environment like this. For instance, a server kept on running back and forth from the kitchen to the diner floor for little things. She could have taken orders all at once then walked back to the kitchen to bring food out. The way she worked could have caused longer time to help customers and wasted her energy.Overall, like I said, this place is decent.

I just had the Sizzling BiBimBap bowl at this place and I definitely felt like I paid for my moneys worth. I got the bowl, side dishes, and the works, essentially, and it was a wonderful little treat. The only thing I didnt care for was the water glasses are so small and theyre quick to drain, especially when youre eating hot food.Staff was nice to me, and I was seated quickly. Even got a lollipop at the end of the meal. That was a nice touch.

Fix it for it was completely unnecessary. I didnt do anything to deserve that unsatisfactory service. I couldnt even eat inside while there were clearly others able to. He raised his hand to stop me before I got past the Maiterd stand. While others were able to sit inside with a smile & directions to a seat of their choice AFTERWARDS. Poor service experience at Bowl’d tonight. Four tables were seated and their orders were taken after ours; all four tables received their orders before we did. I asked twice about my order. Usually the service is pretty quick, so the order must have been forgotten. Overall one dish came out at about 20 minutes after being placed, along with the table kimchi, which is usually served after seating. The second dish came out at about 25 minutes with the appetizer – the seafood pancake.The Spicy Ramen and Bi Bim Bop were good. The seafood pancake was overcooked on the outside and incredibly doughy on the inside. It seemed rushed.The service on this night was really poor. It was like we didn’t have a real server, a few came by at different times after we had our complete order to fill water. Maybe they were trying to make up for lack of help earlier in the meal.

This has become our go-to korean restaurant lately. Its in a big shopping center and has plenty of parking. The restaurant is large and I havent had any issues with having to wait. Probably at prime time on the weekend it might be busy? The food is good. Banchan is good. We usually get be Bim bop with the wild rice mix. The meats are very tasty and good quality. That and a cold beer is so satisfying. The staff are always nice and very attentive. If your in the mood for some good Korean food and in Alameda, this is a good choice.

Went here the other night to have dinner with friends. It is located in Alameda at the South Shore Center near Trader Joes and across from Daiso. Plenty of ample parking in the shopping center. Place is modern and clean. The food was great, however the service is lacking somewhat. My friends order did not come out after everyones order came out and had to remind the wait staff about it, and it didnt come out until 10 minutes later. Also, we requested twice from them to change the channel on the TVs to the Golden State Warriors game. Finally, no water served after asking twice. Other than that, the food tasted great. I had the Spice pork sizzling bibimbap ($16) and it was really good. Good amount of food for the price. My friend ordered the steak tartar and it was really good. Also had a chance to taste the glazed ginger korean fried chicken which was also good. Portion sizes of the chicken were huge. 4 stars because of the somewhat slow servce.

They have deilcious bibimbap, and give a lot of appetizer plates for free. The citron Korean Tea was also great. However, it is a bit pricey at $15 a bowl, and extra for a hot stoneware bowl. Also, they seem to be understaffed at the moment and getting seated took a long time. Great atmosphere, hopefully they will hire more staff soon.

Whatever you do, do not get the vegetable Jhap Chae. They put hardened pieces of marinated mushroom stems that are inedible! I was spitting them out in napkins. I wondered what was wrong with the flavor and texture so I dissected it. It looks like moistened dried bark and I could not chew through them. I love Jhap Chae and no Korean restaurant has ever put that in them. I dont know if they are just trying to save money on giving the customers dried up leatherly like crap, but I know I wont be ordering this again. This was a zero (O) star.The prices are over priced, the food is average. The sides though are quite good. The best thing was the vegetable pancake and the sweet soy sauce. Those are 4-5 stars. No I would not return. For almost $60 for 2 people for dinner was a bit steep - we had 2 entrees and 2 appetizers, no drinks.The environment was elegant, the waitress and waiters were nice.

The only thing I would recommend is the servers telling you the difference sauces and everything. We expressed that it was our first time there and they didnt bother to tell us what anything on the table was (and were amateurs) so that was a not so fun guessing game.

Inconsistent service, tasty bibimbap. We ordered the galbi bibimbap in a hot stone bowl, his was with white rice and mine was multi grain. But we were not served plates or cutlery. I had to get up and get it from nearby tables. We made the mistake of ordering shrimp tempura, but they turned out to be a few overcooked breaded shrimp that were half the size of the prawns were normally served as tempura, and the breading was more a cornmeal or flour breading, again not tempura batter. The sauce that came with it was spicy and strange. Overall we plan to return and hope they can improve their service.

Horrible service. Placed pick up order for my wife at 6:15. They said 15-20 mins. Great, let me order my pizza at Mod while I wait. Ready at 6:25. Wonderful. Wait in line to pay behind a couple ordering take out and cashier says 10 mins. 10 mins later, couple ordering ahead of me gets their food. 6:50, I stand up to look for the cashier. He sees me looking around and offers to check on my food. You shouldve already been doing that. I watch him walk over to the kitchen area and look for the food and look for the ticket. I can tell they couldnt locate the order and that it was never placed and he clearly told the cook to start making it. Instead of acknowledging the issue and offering me those smelly pickles that I wouldve declined, he refused to look my way. 10 mins later, my food was brought to me. No offer of anything, even an extra couple wings wouldve been fine. On top of that I walk to Mod Pizza and of course they greeted me to tell me my pizza has been sitting a while. Wonderful. Not only do you make me wait an extra 30 minutes for my wifes food, you also screw up my dinner and make me eat an ice cold pizza. They do have nice take out containers if youre into that.

The food was amazing, we been here before, so we knew what we wanted to have. We all decided to have the beef rib and all the fixing. We even had an order of kimchi fried rice . We had so much leftovers that we had enough for tomorrow’s dinner. I will be back for more next time. I want to try their glazed potatoes and maybe some pot stickers. Oh yeah, I had the grain rice which was a beautiful eggplant color. It’s was soooo good. Enough of the texting. U all need to try this place out.
