I really wanted to love Brasserie SLO. Its attached to Hotel Cerro, with the entrance and outdoor seating on the lovely, walkable Garden Street in downtown SLO. We arrived early for our dinner reservation, and we were warmly welcomed by the host and the bartender. The restaurant is beautifully designed inside, open and lively. We had drinks at the bar, and the bartender was fabulous and engaging. Theres a great cocktail list. While the wine list was very short, there were good selections. However, once we were seated for dinner, we waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged, and about 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Our server was friendly, but we had been there over an hour by the time the first salad was served. Service aside, I had my eye on the fried chicken, but was informed that the chef who makes that dish is out tonight, and the working chef wasnt able to make it correctly, and was recommended to order the roasted chicken, which ended up being overcooked. We also ordered the Cioppino (delicious) and a 16-oz Ribeye (undercooked, gristley). Overall, for the price, the food quality and service were disappointing. We were there on a Friday night, so that could have been part of the problem. Also, note that the menu on the website is not the current menu in the restaurant.

I had the pleasure of dining at Brasserie SLO, an eatery located in downtown San Luis Obispo and attached to The Hotel Cerro.Walking in I was struck by the restaurants unique architecture, which features a mix of brick, glass, steel, and lighting. Its a very cool space that sets the scene for a memorable dining experience. Our waitress greeted us with a warm smile and was very friendly and helpful throughout our meal. The menu offered a great selection of dishes, ranging from classic breakfast items to more unique fare like breakfast pizza. The service was quick and efficient, and our food arrived in a timely manner.Ill certainly be back with my friends and family to try more of the menu!

Had a wonderful dinner with the family here. Very nice wine selection to go along with the good starter offerings. Oysters were very nice start, which Max said were from Baja. I have always had PNW, NorCal, or New England varieties. These were delightful! Followed with the brie, which devoured in 3 minutes. Worth the wait. It is suited for two so order more than one for three or more people. My wife had a very well prepared martini and a Cesars salad was shared. Nice touch with pickled purple onions. Mains were pasta, lamb, and the chefs cut steak. The Lamb was very tender and delicious. The lamb sausage is like a semi spicy kofta. My wife had the steak which was lean and cooked perfectly per her order. The accompanying mushrooms and sauce did not overwhelm the beef, which is how we like it. I didnt get a chance to taste the pasta, but my daughter ate it all. We shared a carafe of Tablas Creek white blend. Dont know what the corkage fee is, probably should inquire since there are wineries all over the place. Finished with coffee and desserts. Coffee was nice and thankfully very hot! Dont know why so many restaurants serve semi hot coffee. Overall nice atmosphere. We dined outside which was helped by the cool summer evening. Inside was gorgeous, with a beautiful bar. We all commented on the modern but comfortable french bistro chairs. Very nice touch. I will return to try the beef bourguignon or octopus. Finally our server Max did a great job pacing the orders and answered all the questions on the menu. There is street parking, but if you know this town, its good to know the several parking garages nearby. I do reccomend reservations, which we made 45 minutes prior. We were pleasantly surprised by this place, having just arrived in town and picked it almost randomly.

Absolutely worth every dollar we spent here. There is nothing I would change from our experience. The staff was incredible. The food was magnificent. The atmosphere was soothing. The architecture was brilliant.

Just had breakfast here and it was great. Food was amazing. I had a veggie omelette with toast and coffee. Delicious food, great service, charming atmosphere, and it’s lovely sitting outside.

Great meal top to bottom. We really enjoyed every single item we ordered. Cocktails were great (not too sweet). The baked brie and kale salad were perfect starters to have together (the clean acidity of the salad really balanced rich, sweet brie.) Overall, the mussels were the standout dish for me. Super flavorful. Our service was top notch, too!

One of our first post pandemic outings, and were fortunate to dine at Brasserie SLO. They have a good selection of beers and wines. At first glance their menu is not well-suited for vegetarians but they made up for it with many excellent starters, which we ordered quite a few: Barata with figs, Caesar (not vegetarian), Grilled Broccolini. For my entree, I had the Papardelle. Finished off with a generous portion of their excellent pecan pie. Everything was superbly prepared and tasted great. We really enjoyed our meal in their courtyard.Service was attentive and unobstrusive. My only wish that they have maybe a few more vegetarian entrees.

We had a lovely brunch here! Staff is really nice and they have outdoor dining. We were lucky to have nice weather and able to just sit and relax. All the food was great! Dont miss out this place if you are around in SLO.
