Great local spot to get a coffee and breakfast. They have a wide range of coffees, blends and origins. Their breakfast options are very good. We chose the avocado toasts and they were delicious.

I’m so happy that I found this place. Staff is very welcoming and doing so good, quick job. I ordered cappuccino and plain croissant which was amazing! But cappuccino was so strong for me and I asked barista to change it for latte instead. She was so nice and made me a new cup of amazing latte. I’ll definitely be back and recommend this place to my friends who live this area.

This is our favorite Lake Murray neighborhood coffee house now! Great coffee, service and atmosphere! Cannot say enough about this warm and welcoming coffee house. Free wifi, free dog treats and just a great place to relax and enjoy a wide variety of both tasty food and smooth coffees. Our coffee was robust but smooth, NOT over-roasted.

I originally rated Brew Coffee Spot 5 stars on Yelp. On my first visit I was invited by a friend to hear him play. Kennedy and Quincy both provided exceptional service. Both were warm friendly kind and helpful. I was so impressed with both that I mentioned them in a 5 star yelp review AND sent each thank you cards. I was looking for an opportunity to go back. As it turned out they had a jazz band playing. Im not a Jazz person. I almost didnt go. I went because I wanted to support Brew Coffee Spot for supporting live musicI arrived there fully expecting Kennedy to be excited to see me and thank me for the card. That didnt happen instead she gave me a tounge lashing and told me to never send her a card again. I said ok and walked out with no intention of ever returning.

Good menu variety and seating options. They have a coffee self serve station with 1$ refills for drip coffee. They recommended the pumpkin cinnamon roll but it was served dry and half cold despite being “warmed up”. Wifi is accessible by receipt only and for up to 2 hours. Pumpkin spice latte was good.

A great little locally owned coffee shop with a fun atmosphere.The shop is big and spacious with plenty of seating and a great menu.The staff was friendly and courteous.I had the pleasure to come across this place on accident today and the iced coffee was delicious.I will definitely be back when Im in the area.The AC was cool and comfortable and its a great place to escape the heat.I highly recommend the brew spot if you are in the area.

Great spot! Great place to meet up with friends and also plug away on some work. A sprinkler broke (not fault of them) that drenched car that had its windows down. The baristas were so nice and helped me dry out my car and we’re even so nice as to give me a towel so I wouldn’t have to drive on a wet seat. I ordered their iced chai and veggie bagel. Both great!!!

Staff not very friendly, have been there 3 times now and never a good morning, its just a look like you r bothering them then, what would you like. You also have to pick up your own food, cutlery, etc and bus your own table when done, which I dont mind but then they have a tip jar and a tip place on your payout when u use card.

Hit this wonderful neighborhood coffee shop for some belated Mothers Day time with my son. We ended up working the coolest puzzle Id just received, while enjoying some really good coffee. The Brew Spot has lots of inside and outside tables, and is consistently busy. Thats always a good sign of a good place. Nice owners and employees too.

Came here for the first time with a friend the other week.Or coffees came out warm rather than hot so drinking them outside just made them cold faster, so not as delicious.We shared a breakfast sandwich that had a beyond patty because they ran out of breakfast burritos. I think these items, they said, are those microwaveable ones that come from Costco or somewhere, so these arent exactly freshly made.I definitely would not come back here for food.I might come back to try the coffee again but with better options nearby, I might not.

Came here on Dec 27 morning for the first time and had an unpleasant experience!1. I waited for 20min and didn’t hear they called my name or the order’s. I’m pretty sure they did not, since I sat not too far from the counter. And also, I noticed that the customers who ordered before and after me got their drinks!I came ask the staff and she didn’t act really sorry. Surprisingly, she said “I already made it, and someone came take the order”. Excuse me?! So what’s the point of giving each customer the receipt with the order number and item on it? You should have checked it before handing out the items!!!2. She made one for me again. I can feel she was very unhappy with me through the way she called out the order and said sorry. Hmmm, what did I do wrong???3. It wasn’t too crowded but super noisy. A woman pulled up the metal chair, and 2 kids stomped on the floor for 5 mins at the same time. Many people came here to work, including me, and I can see how annoyed they were due to the noise.Dont think I will recommend this coffee shop to my friends…

Pro tip: if youre ordering a simple tea or coffee, save your cup and get a refill for just $1.Customer service here is always friendly. The drink options are robust and they have a point reward system through an app you can download to your mobile device. Every purchase earns you points towards a free item off the menu. I like to study here because its not as noisy as other cafes. Music is jot too loud and the seats are spaced out enough that you dont hear everyone elses conversations. Tables are nice and big, perfect for studying or board games. They even have a mini library and a collection of board games for customers to use.

This place is a locals gem. I drive 10 minutes to get here from Lemon Grove. Indoor seating offers good space between tables. Outdoor seating is good. People often bring friendly dogs and quietly enjoy their visit. The espresso has a sweetness that is not your usual rich and bold shot. The coffee is just plain good. Pastries and food are always very good. The staff are generally so busy they dont interact much. Just a hello and a smile is enough to keep the day positive.Highly recommend this place.

A friend brought me here for coffee today and it immediately became my new local coffee spot. It was evident that the barista, Saul, was a true expert of the industry. Our hot specialty coffees were both brewed and prepared to perfection. The service is friendly and efficient. The environment was stress-free and the atmosphere equally conducive to both focus and socializing. The space is comfortably large with ample seating area that encourages quality leisure, instead of the cramp and cold quarters that most franchised coffeehouses offer. A happening coffee shop with quite a lot of seating and drink options.First time in, everyone was nice and made a recommendation on the coffee beans they had for sale. This has become my favorite coffee shop for several reasons. Starting from the top: The owners are amazing people who get to know their customers. The staff is super friendly, and they remember your name! And, of course, they have great tasting *CONSISTENT* coffee! Their preparation of drinks is meticulous! They also have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating with a good mix of larger and smaller tables, which makes it great for a date with your significant other, a hangout with friends, or even a meeting with your team/staff. And they frequently host community events! This is a coffee shop that truly cares not just about the quality of their menu, but about the entire community. Everything about the Brew is amazing! Coffee was good but there were other issues. Dont ask me three times as I am standing in front of you if I want my pastry heated. You werent paying attention and were busy doing whatever on the register. Pay attention! Two big signs are in the front windows that said no dogs except service dogs are allowed inside. Well there were two dogs in the shop. The dog owners knew the staff. I guess that makes it right. Fyi- I am a dog owner. One staff was petting one very hairy dog and then walked behind the food counter where she proceeded to brush off all the dog hair on her clothes near the pastries and coffee machine. Good coffee, food, and atmosphere. The coffee is good. It isnt a five star roaster, but they have lots of drink options including some creative ones. They have food options that are good. Great atmosphere for meeting with a friend or a business associate. They only allow two hours of wifi with purchase, which does keep out the all day coffee shop writers and remote business workers. It seems like a detractor at first, but it does help keep a more friendly clientele.

Been here only a few times being that its a bit out of my way. Every time Ive ordered the staff is always so nice and helpful. The quality of coffee seems to be on a higher level than most other shops in SD. Its enjoyable.They also seem to always have tables available in their large open seating area. My first visit to this coffee shop....Im presently surprised with the atmosphere, and quality of the beverages offered. The menu is typical of a coffee shop. The prices were less than what Id expect...great! A mix of tables and bar stools inside and a nice patio with shaded tables. Along with coffee there was a good selection of confections. At mid day there was a stream of customers picking up coffee. Id say this shop had developed a good clientele. You can see a national brand coffee shop in the next block. It did take about 15 minutes to get my Americano, but that was because of the number of orders they were cranking out. It was a Sunday morning at 10am, Soni think thats understandable. The staff was very friendly and you can tell there are many regulars coming in. I can see myself making many returns. This is a good spot to grab coffee or to sit down and enjoy brunch. Brew coffee spot is a phenomenal addition to the area. Its the first true coffee house, for which theyre just absolutely perfect, but they also have great breakfast and lunch options. Its community oriented, very lively, and hosts many events, including things such as painting, live music, and game night! The floor plan is beautifully done and very open. I visited around 10 a.m. on a weekday to meet a client, and the place was packed. Despite having a lot of square footage, there was no open seating available indoors. Very basic seating outside. The line to order a black coffee was incredibly slow. I would not choose to return on my own. But if someone suggested meeting there, I might give it a second chance. The clientele appeared to be moms meeting to chat with their toddlers along for the ride, as well as numerous people working on their laptops. When I finally made it to the counter I found an honor-system black coffee dispenser.. $2 cash for a relatively small cup to go (7-Eleven would be so much faster and with more choices, for a basic cup to go!) And they had quite a bit of food choices available which might be good, but also (I think) dramatically slows down the ordering line. Perhaps having multiple registers/staff taking orders would have helped speed things up at this seemingly popular and large coffee restaurant and playdate workspace that appears to be popular with the neighborhood locals.

Its a great place for the community and I love the vibe, however every time Ive been here its been consistently slow in getting my drink(s). Ive been here during their live music nights or weekends when its crazy and even the middle of the day. Its been consistently SLOW. Service is great, the baristas know theyre a bit slow and sometimes they are apologetic.Ive learn to just get drip coffee so I dont have to wait that long.Theres definitely room for improvement and some Lean strategies could be implemented in this shop but I guess if theres business and no competition who cares right?

Tried this new spot with my wife today. Some of the best coffee Ive ever had. Their menu is full of food and drinks youve never had before. I come here often and feel obligated to finally write my review. I get coffee at a lot of local shops all around San Diego but I always find myself coming back to Brew the most. It is amongst my favorite spots including Dark Horse, Coffee & Tea Collective, and Moniker. What makes brew stand out in front of the rest? Their staff. Alongside the largest selection of food choices and great tasting pour overs, their staff has by far the friendliest outgoing workers.

Only downside is the seating arrangement. While I love that its not crowded, theres not enough tables inside. Most of the tables are for two people and theyre up against the wall. What tends to happen is that each table will be used up by one person. However there is a nice patio with umbrellas outside.

I have been waiting for a coffee shop like this in my community for over 10 years. I had to either drive to a different part of San Diego for coffee or succumb to starbucks before this cafe was around. Everything I have had at the Brew Coffee Spot is high quality, but the cold brew and teas are my favorite. The service is always good and its nice knowing the cafe is locally owned and operated. The open floor plan is nice too, and has plenty of seating with big tables to hang out at or be productive on work.Highly recommend Brew Coffee Spot.

Great community coffee shop and Cafe. Staff was polite and friendly, even during a rush of customers. I enjoy walking into this coffee shop on a Sunday and picking up a cold brew with heavy cream and honey.Ya see, they are willing to spoil you and deliver exactly what you want.Theres also a variety of snacks and sweets in case youre hungry.Lots of room to sit inside or outside and play on your laptop or read a book as you sip on your tasty coffee or tea.

I love Brew! The food is fresh and service is friendly. My daughter (3) and I go every Friday morning to treat ourselves and hang out. She gets a warm blueberry muffin with hot chocolate and I the breakfast sandwich on croissant with an Americano (a modification on the sandwich...I swap the ciabatta...perfect cheat breakfast!) . I will say I was disappointed last Friday. I sent the hubs to get our order to go and they refused to give him my usual croissant stating that they NEVER substitute. Obviously they do and have for me...for months. They finally conceded and charged him an extra.$2 for the change (he offered to pay extra to begin with). Annoying and unnecessary- a waste of time and 2 phone calls to me, so Im taking away 1 star. But, overall Brew is a good place and well continue to go at least for the blueberry muffins.

I love this place so much, I even came here on my birthday. Yes, the prices are a bit high, but if you take advantage of their happy hour (I always get the pistachio baklava and matcha latte) as well as the rewards program through the Clover app (free bacon avocado toast? Yes, please!) it all balances out. Oh, and my husband absolutely loves the nitro coffee - it keeps him focused on work for hours. I never felt rushed, but I also tend to avoid it on Saturdays because it does tend to get crowded. Give it a try!

It is a very busy and crowded place with uncomfortable seating. I felt very rushed by the staff and it was overall not a comfortable experience. This could be it was a Saturday, but still very stressful environment.I tried their lemon açaí berry soda. It was fine but nothing special and certainly not worth almost three dollars.I might give it another shot another day and actually try their coffee and maybe food. You have a bowl that comes with PB, but when it comes to the smoothie it’s a problem.Been coming here for a year and ever since you offered an açaí smoothie I’ve added PB into it. Now in the last month it’s become an issue. Now Its a extra cost for it okay, not a problem. Today, I offered to pay that extra cost and was told I couldn’t. Your staff makes up an excuse each time (allergies, cleaning, safety or something new each time).Today I said yeah Im happy tp pay the $1.00 more. I would give 5 stars but very often when I order two drinks, I get forgotten. Today I ordered iced coffee and americano. I got iced coffee immediately but had to wait for americano over 20 minutes and eventually had to ask for it because they forgot or lost the ticket. Also it would be appropriate from the staff to ask first, since I was standing there for 20 minutes waiting. Besides that, staff is nice and friendly always. It would be great if they would pay little bit more attention to drinks.

This place is always hoppin. Theres a good selection of coffee drinks, all the same stuff as Starbucks it seems, and they have pastries, salads, and paninis. They even have a few gluten free items, usually muffins and brownies. There are lots of tables but often are full and the bigger tables end up becoming community tables. They offer a selection of board games and wifi to keep everyone entertained. If I were to have a complaint it would be that the folks that work here are generally nice but seem to always have a bit of a struggle to get our orders right, or at least they have to ask way more questions than normal to figure out what were ordering. We always marvel at how complicated they make it! But its ok cuz we like it here.

A good place is always busy. A better place plans for that. There is one cash register/cashier so both times I have been there I stood in line for over ten minutes. Today once I was able to order the cashier got it wrong. The reason why is she was responsible for taking all the orders, ringing them up AND THEN she had to prepare the food that came out of the pastry case. This poor girl didnt know if she was coming or going. She was competent. Just over worked. The manager/owner was in that back playing around with some of the help. If I was the cashier I would have walked out.

Great little place in sleepy San CarlosThat juncture of SD, between La Mesa and San Carlos was craving for a coffee shop and Brew doesnt disappoint. I went there on a weekday morning with a couple for parents from a nearby school. It was packed. All tables had people chatting or plugged in, doing their work. This was about 10 AM, folks! I can just imagine what Sat mornings are like. The selection of pastries was good, so was the made-to-order nibbles, such as quiche/salad. I had tea, and the brewing process took longer than I wished for, but it was on point.We sat outside, the tables have umbrellas. The coffeeshop is at an open little corner mall, so theres plenty of parking.

Update: 2/18/19Stopped in today and ordered coffee and a quiche. I let the cashier know I will need some assistance and someone will need to deliver my food to my table. I explained that I only have the full use if my right arm and I also use a cane. He said he understood, and I informed him where I would be sitting outside. After a fair amount of time passed, my wife showed up and i asked her to check. Low-and-behold there was my food and coffee. The quiche and coffee were both lukewarm but delicious! Be careful what you get if you have food sensitivities. Some of their powdered drinks have powdered milk in them. I ordered a matcha with almond milk and ended up spending the day miserable because it was pre packaged with dairy and nobody bothered to tell me. Obviously if you ask for a drink to be made with almond milk, you dont want milk. In addition, traditionally matcha doesnt come with milk so that should be indicated.The matcha is not good quality either, it just tastes like a cheap powdered drink mix. Their chai is the same brand and probably tastes just as bad.I also had an acai bowl which was ok but the acai smoothie part tasted like it had too much sugar in it.Al in all, not a very healthy or quality place even though it appears that way by looking at the menu.

First time I went there was a great experience, I spoke with the owner a little bit and it was nice. There was a bit of confusion regarding the drink I wanted but they worked out and I was given my iced macchiato. However, just today I had gone back there and there was this girl behind the counter who had no idea what kind of coffee I wanted until I had to point it out on the menu and then she proceeds with arguing with me about making it. Saying they cannot make a large coffee out of it when they are clearly advertising large, and I received a large coffee just that Thursday. Not to mention that for about 5 minutes shes arguing with me about making the coffee, Im sorry but this is huge no in my opinion to do to a customer, especially when youve just opened. I had planned on buying 3 coffees but they definitely lost business and 3 sales today.

Tried the Wakey Wakey and a cinnamon roll to start. The cinnamon roll was essentially my breakfast, and under those circumstances I highly recommend it. At first glance it may look a bit small and/or dry, but when you order it they ask if you prefer it warm, with frosting. This is the preparation I tried, and heartily recommend. When the cinnamon roll arrived, it was so seductively smothered in frosting that any dryness was gone, and after eating I felt as full as if Id just had a small side order of flapjacks with butter and syrup.So. As I said, under the particular circumstances I ate the cinnamon roll, I recommend it.People who know me know that I love coffee. And that I dont heap praise on coffee that is unworthy of that praise. I wholeheartedly praise this places coffee. The Wakey Wakey, which was my first coffee of the day, did its job remarkably well. I know coffee purists will wag their fingers at me for it, but I added cream & lots of sugar to mine, and I still felt like I experienced the additional frothiness and smokiness of the espresso beneath the delicious dark roast coffee. It stood up well to my mangling it of all its subtleties, I must say.Later in the day I refilled my mug, with plain dark roast coffee, and noticed the difference, and still enjoyed very much.I know Im a madman, but I turned down the opportunity to try any of the delicious-looking cookies.In the interest of full disclosure, I feel I must mention that I have met and interacted with the owner and his wife (and they are lovely people), but I really feel like I can still objectively review this place as the gem it is. It was good. Not amazing but good. I ordered a cold brew with half milk and i could not finish it. The after taste was horrible.
