Good BBQ. Food could have been fresher & hotter. The home-made root beer was delicious. The staff was super friendly. We were not crazy about the containers in which the food was served-the paper at the bottom can tear apart and end up as part of what you eat. The cornbread is very good.

Oh my I was craving good BBQ and this was on my way home. And I am SO glad I stopped and found this place because it is delicious and exactly what I wanted!!! The baked beans were amazing as well as the potato salad and pulled pork and brisket. The owner even gave me a free root beer while I waited and it was so good! I will definitely be coming back!!!

A small place with big heart. The owner will make sure you are happy; which is rare these days. A super chill atmosphere with some country music playing and laughs in the air. The deviled eggs are amazing and the sides are not the run of the mill; they have the pizazz you want from a BBQ joint. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed.

Brew Hawg is a great BBQ place our friend told us about.Today my husband went for the Friday the 13th special.According to him, the place smelled incredible. He got there early and chatted with the owner Leo, who was so nice and offered him soda while he waited on the food. He was even able to get the food a bit early.We ordered 2 racks of Baby Back Ribs, Mac-n-Cheese, Potato Salad, Smoked Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Coconut Creamed Corn. Even though I don’t eat meat the ribs smelled so good.If you can remember to go on Friday the 13th they have a special of Baby Back ribs and two sides for $25! They also have half racks for $13! Great deal!👍

First time visitor. We were in town and decided to give them a shot. What a mistake though. Very unhappy with the quality of the meat and the flavor of the sauce seasoning. Service was good-the cashier was helpful and friendly while explaining the menu. But the BBQ meats were below average at best. We side didn’t make it any better. The corn bread was probably the best thing on the menu and it was hard and cold. My family and I tried different types of meats (brisket, chicken, pork, belly). My daughter had the spud it seems like they couldn’t get that right as well. But personally I feel like I wasted my money... $70 for lunch. A meat plate should be perfect but I guess everyones perfect is not the same..4 out of 10..I can only speak to the food we had.

This is a small place and feels cramped. They bring the food and drinks to the table, but if you want straws they will tell you theyre right on the wall, while standing right by them. Their greetings should be welcoming, but instead it feels cold. They play music and one song I heard was completely inappropriate, talking about his graphic sexual exploits with women and what he does with them. The food is fair, but my tri tip was on the very well done side which made it feel more like beef jerky. Other dishes like the brisket are delicious and their sides, coconut cream corn are also delicious. Overall I can only give three stars compared to other bbq places.

My roommate had the beef ribs and loved them. They were huge and 6 pieces, but he couldnt finish them and take the other 3 home. I had the tri-tip and sausage and they were great too.This is the BEST place for BBQ and they brew their own root beer (My roommate says theyre the best he had in a loooong time. Dont let the small outside front fool you. This is one of the BEST BBQ place in Orange County at 655 Tustin Ave., just north of Walnut. Look them up on Google for further details.

We dined in for lunch- and I got the 2 meat combo. Not the best BBQ- the tri-tip was chewy and kind of dry. The pork was ok. It didnt taste fresh, or smoked. The meat portion was pretty small- they put the bread underneath so the portion looks bigger than it is. This is not an authentic BBQ restaurant- theres no outdoor smoker shed since its a tiny place in a strip mall. At a real BBQ joint you can smell the BBQ in the air as soon as you get to the parking lot. But there was no BBQ smell inside the restaurant.Service was good- the cashier was helpful and friendly while explaining the menu. I enjoyed the Mac & cheese, and potato salad sides. But the BBQ meats were average at best- like food truck quality- not fresh authentic BBQ restaurant quality.

I make bbq an Im gonna be honest this brisket was garbage sub par its was barley warm the link was hotter in temperature than the brisket makes me wonder if they cut the brisket an made the sandwich before they made the fries... But personally I feel like I wasted my money... A 16$ sandwich should be perfect but I guess everyones perfect is not the same... 3 out of 10...I just speaking on the Bubba sandwich I had!!!!

It was a very hot Memorial Day on the road to Lake Elsinore so we decided to pull into a rest stop & get a sweet treat to cool down. All of the staff greeted us with a smile as we walked in. This place doesnt seem busy but the staff drops everything to take their time to acknowledge everyone. One person was cleaning tables & one person was mopping the wet floor from a mess that the previous customer had made at the soft drink machine. I like stops that are clean & well kept!I wasnt hungry but decided to order more just to support this place. I ordered 3 Oreo Milkshake & a 3 Tacos for $3 which also came with a Soft Drink. Its fast food on the road so it is what it is. The Tacos were super oily & crunch but is pretty tasty & addictive. I wouldnt eat this everyday though! The milkshake was not bad. Tasted exactly like Oreo Cookies with Vanilla soft serve.

Not bad. I had the The Duke Sandwich Plate which is there most sold item. I think Im a little biased cause I also do the grilled cheese with pulled pork sandwich at home. But I prefer the pulled pork to be a little crispy on the edges. I then tried the sauces and I prefer the spicy over the others. Had more flavor, and no its not spicy.

They have vegan options! Although its only labeled as a specialty it was delicious. Also tried the coconut cream corn, peanut cranberry coleslaw, and corn bread. My favorite was the coconut cream corn. My friend tried the tri-tip, mac n cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn bread. She devoured everything. All in all, its pretty good BBQ for southern California.

Ordered beef ribs with tots and beans. The ribs were as rare as I order steaks. They clearly didnt smoke them, or cook them. Because they were rare I couldnt even eat them because they were so tough. If thats how a place treats there most expensive menu item I dont care to try the rest.

Great little bbq spot in a sea of sauced and smoqued restaurants. The man who helped me today was such a good soul. I usually dont like small talk, its awkward, but I actually had a good time speaking with him. I got the cornbread and it is actually good! (I normally dont like cornbread). The food was also a huge plus. Really good southern style food like I used to eat in the south. I had the baby back ribs, mash, and corn. I especially love the corn. Ill be back!

Small, quality hole in the wall bbq joint. Kind of cramped indoor seating which is why the lower atmosphere rating. Loved the food, and reasonably priced. They make their own rootbeer, which is great with the bbq. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese, and the brisket. Great sandwiches are also offered but I went for the 2 meat plate.

I ordered the Thor sandwich with Mac and cheese and a root beer.Root beer was the star....perfectThe sauce needs some serious work...the texture and flavor just screams commercial sauce.Mac and cheese was grainy but great flavor.Brisket was nice.Pulled pork was decent...needed more flavor.The hot link was an abomination... no heat and like the sauce... the texture and flavor scream commercial product.I want to try the ribs so Ill be back!!Overall its definitely worth a visit.

Brew Hawg BBQ was a great 4th of July surprise for our whole family, from my 76 year old mother to my 6 year old nephew and even my vegetarian brother (who had the meatless beef) were all VERY HAPPY with the food.Everything was delicious but I have to say the coconut cream corn literally blew my mind in all the best ways. Im originally from the south and BBQ is serious down there. It was great to find a place that does BBQ well around here but there are a few exceptions. To be honest, the cornbread is as close as youre going to get to the real thing. It deserves 5 stars. The pulled pork is juicy and tender - 5 stars. The slaw is a great twist and another 5 stars. The sauce is good, but too sweet - 4 stars. Maybe thats just how it is around here. Cream corn and mashed potatoes a solid 4. The ribs were not a high point. Our order was a bit tough and not the fall-off-the bone that Im used to - 3 stars. Service was friendly and prompt.

Just went then and honestly, it was just alright. If you want smoked BBQ this probably won’t be the best place. I had the brisket, pulled pork, and I tried a beef rib. The Beef rib was a bit on the chewer side, but was alright. The brisket was pulled and only ok, along with the pulled pork. The BBQ sauce seemed generic and I wasn’t a big fan. Looking through the Google Review photos reveals that this place recently had a price hike and for their current prices, I would just say pass.

I dont know how this place has a high rating. They must be paid reviews or from people that have never had proper barbecue.

When I first ordered from here nearly 4 years ago, it was absolutely the best BBQ Id come across is SoCal. Sadly since then the quality has steady declined. Now the best you can expect is cold food and burnt chicken and tough ribs. Its almost as thought nobody bothers to check the food before it is served. Just do better. Hire a cook that knows how to properly cook BBQ meats so that the meat falls of the bone. Its not hard, it really isnt.

Even though I bought 1lb each (it came in tiny to go boxes), not what I expected for what I paid. I spent a lot of money for what didn’t seem to be very much food. I live very close (within blocks). I made the biggest mistake and parked behind the building…the shared trash cans there behind the restaurants there are beyond grotesque. I was appalled to see the way those restaurants keep their trash. There is were trays of rotten food (from this restaurant and their neighbors) dumped out in the open. For those of you wondering why the baked beans are so bad…they’re canned beans that are probably doctored and re-served to us. I’m really disgusted and regretted buying food there after seeing the mess back there. To be fair, there’s 2-3 restaurants there but it’s gross to see how they toss things out. If that’s any indication of their cleanliness standards I do not want to see their kitchens 🤢. Go back there and see for yourself. Even Del Taco has disposed of & keeps a cleaner trash area. It’s absolutely putrid back there. Baked beans cans littered outside the trash containers with food receptacles thrown on the floor. No trash bags…gross gross gross. I won’t be eating at any of these places again. Wish I’d taken a picture…the second star is for the spicy bbq sauce and the stuff we did like.

We made the trip from a neighboring city just to get some of this delicious BBQ. They did not disappoint. I kept it clean with just a sausage that was just enough. Tiny counter-serve fast-food BBQ joint located in a busy urban strip mall. The brisket was already cubed and covered with sugary sweet bbq sauce so beware of youre looking for fresh sliced brisket. The pulled pork was tender, fatty and moist with some good bark mixed in. The hot link was my least favorite. It was overly salty and unoriginal. The coleslaw was average and the baked beans were decent if on the sweet side. Brew Hawg gets the job done but keep your expectations in check so you wont be disappointed.

Personal preference but I would have liked the links to have a bit char/grill marks as they looked a bit hot dog like even though they tasted good. The BBQ isnt bad at all but its not the best. I only tried the brisket and it was shredded like pulled pork but not completely. The spicy sauce was good, potato salad just ok and the Mac and cheese was good. We first had Brew Hawg catered at an event that my wife performed at. The owner was very patient to answer my allergy questions and was a super nice guy.We then had him cater my dads funeral and he took care of everything so we didnt have to worry about napkins or the little things. He understood the value of peace of mind.The price was very reasonable and its the best barbecue that Ive had in Orange County. He also makes an amazing home brewed root beer. Love Brew Hawg.

This was my first time ordering from Brew Hawg so perhaps this was an exception, but the ribs were way overcooked; to the point of almost being uneatable. They arrived cold but didn’t have enough moisture left to be able to reheat even a little. The garlic mashed potatoes were good but I suspect the baked beans came from a can. Big disappointment for what we paid. I don’t think I want to try this place again.

This is hands down the best bbq I have ever had. I know that sounds dramatic but it’s true. Not only are the meats phenomenal, but the sauce is BOMB! As we walked in the fragrance of the sweet smelling bbq engulfed me with wonder, the art on the walls piqued my interest when all of the sudden I was greeted by an amazing host asking how I was doing. This caught me by surprise no one asked how I was doing all day. I then proceeded to order a plenty of BBQ. When I retrieved back home to my throne it was on. BBQ sauce was flying everywhere. it was an amazing piece of beauty. beyond 10/5 stars on taste, quality, and overall presentation. Fries are to die for, the bbq pulled pork was out of this world, and the tri-tip and mac and cheese are a different breed. I can not say enough on how good of a place this is. The slaw was good but it needs less lettuce and more cabbage, the dressing needs a little more acidity like from an orange or some apple cider vinegar.The BBQ pork was pretty good- I love that they make their sauces.The BBQ Brisket was moist and very good flavor - my one complaint was the giant pieces of just FAT in the brisket. Those could of easily been removed. I came for great BBQ and not 25% of my brisket being pure chucks of fat.The Rib broke my heart - both bottom and top were burnt with black crisp char on the top and bottom. That ruins the experience completely.My palette doesnt need charred meat taste when I want juice ribs cooked off the Traeger grills ( I saw them out back when I was parking)If you go through all the trouble to make Ribs on a Traeger, either use less sugar in your sauce so it doesnt burn, wrap the ribs so they retain flavor and juice and watch them... the rib wasnt free and I expect an awesome rib to have the first time memorable experience so I can come back when I want ribs... this rib was mistreated. If it wasnt good enough it shouldnt have been served.So overall needs to attention to finer details but its certainly not the worst bbq Ive had.

From the street, Brew Hawg is hard to notice and you could easily drive past it and not even know that BBQ could be found in the little business strip. The place is located back from the street and the parking lot; without much signage, even when youre standing in fron of it, youre not sure.Out in front of the restaurant, there are a few tables for dining and relaxing outside. Once inside, there are a few table scattered in front of the walk up, counter service.The menu is comprised primarily of sandwich plates and meat plates. My wife and I decided on the sandwiches and chose to give the brisket a try. The meat plates with two meat choices seemed like a lot of food for lunch. We were looking for a meat plate with just one BBQ choice, but it wasnt on the board. The staff was friendly and was helpful in describing the menu choices. She was also provided excellent service offering refills and servicing our table.The brisket sandwhiches were amazing. Good hunks of smokey BBQ flavor. The combination of the tart cranberry slaw and the brisket was delicious. Based on just the meats, Brew Hawg would rate another star higher. I really wanted to give this place a higher review, but the side dish was a bit of a disappointment. The rather small helping of garlic mash was a bit bland, with the consistency of instant mash potatoes. A strange after taste followed each mouthful. My wife ordered the coconut creme corn. The corn looked like the soft consistency of canned corn and looked a bit watery. As a do over, Id pick beans, fries or potato salad next time. I was a bit disappointed with the rootbeer. I found it unflavorful and a bit dilluted. After having one, it isnt something Id look forward to ordering again.Competition is tough because there are lots of restaurants in the area for BBQ.
