Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar in La Mesa

Overall, I like this restaurant. The interior is pleasant, the staff is cool, and the food, for the most part, was enjoyable. While my Cribs-staffed shrimp was a bit oversalted, and the green beans were a tad tough, I must highlight that the calamari had a tempting appearance with a delightfully tender structure, even though the taste fell slightly short. My friend and I both noted this, but we still had an enjoyable time!

Its my birthday month! Yahoo.First-time customer and not my last time to come!!It was crowded, but no wait to get a wonderful seat. The young gentleman made sure to give us excellent service.The ceaser salad and calamari were a delight. I enjoyed dipping into the sauce.The drink was a burst of passion fruit flavor.We ate a delicious, good-sized salmon that had small, mouth sized, and cut potatoes in this amazing garlic sauce. I actually dont know how they made it but it was sooooo good! They topped it off with a slice of mud pie. Oh, now that is worth every cent for every bite!! 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋I loved Brigantine and recommend to all you seafood lovers!! Oh yeah!!!

Always great food! Eaten here and companion restaurants, like Miguel’s, many times in all locations. Tonight the service was noticeably slow…Atmosphere would be heightened with a view! Interior decor is great: seaworthy stuff! Unfortunately the only views from indoor windows in La Mesa are of the freeway and outdoor tables’ view is of the upper parking lot!

Absolutely amazing. Professional staff and excellent food made our trip from out of town, that much more special. Thank you to all at the Brigantine. I recommend the halibut crusted with macadamia (had an amazing sauce as well). The beer was tasty and the fresh bread was a great added bonus. AJ was our server and did a smashing job!

After another day of helping seniors improve their Medicare plans, we decided to go to Brigantine. Weve never had a bad meal here. The photo is whats left of their Fish & Chips. First time Ive ordered this at the Brig. No doubt that I will order this again. They were great. I also like that they serve Pepsi.

My husband and I went for dinner last weekend. Our service was great. The turnaround from ordering to being served our appetizers and entrées was faster than I expected, given how full the restaurant was. All of our food was delicious, and the portion sizes were good.The only drawback was that it was super loud in there.

Their fish is always the best, no matter which location it is. But the service felt different than the navy pier location. The server was not able to answer my questions about the menu, just kept telling what he wants. I’ve never had that experience. Therefore we ordered the dishes we knew, since we had dined several time in the navy pier location. But if you get a different server, it could go better or worse. Inside is beautiful and food is quick. Must say not as warm as the other location too.

High quality seafood. The service is amazing and the server was very attentive. I would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes. I would say the dessert wasnt as good as the appetizers and entrees.

Simply amazing filet mignon, perfectly cooked, super tender and juicy. Definitely the same quality as Flemings and Ruths Chris filet mignon. Brig Salad (Crisp greens tossed with hearts of palm, dried cranberries, glazed pecans, & crumbled blue cheese vinaigrette) was also excellent. The mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots were good. The chocolate cheesecake was very good and not overly sweet. The employees were very friendly.Update: Got the salmon entree with carrots and green beans, rice pilaf, and Caesar salad. It was good, but paled in comparison to the amazing filet mignon and Brig salad. The strawberry cheesecake was good and had more of a cake consistency, compared to a New York style cheesecake. Update: Got the Salmon and Steak entrees followed by the Strawberry sauce cheesecake. Everything was very good.

The brig is always a great place to go.Their bread selection is exquisite, the crab cakes to die for and the service is impeccable.If you want a nice dining experience with quality and care with tasty seafood, this is the place to go.The happy hour dishes are quite nice as well.
