This food really sucked! Being a Chef and loving good Thai food I was very disappointed. Over cooked fish, nasty noodles, icebergs lettuce, gross stuffed mushrooms. Good Drunken Fried Rice with too much salt!This place is nice & the area is great but the food sucks! Its made for bland people. Ive been to some great Thai places like Ayara and King Thai, but this was horrible! What a waste of $200 foe our party!

Visited Dec. 1st 2023, ordered 5 dishes but only ate 3. First of all they took aver 30 minutes just to bring the only 3 dishes (Egg noodles) and the restaurant was not even full to take this amount of time. The taste was amazing so I love the food. I was waiting for the other 2 dishes (duck and curry) but never arrived so I asked the servers and they had no idea. Then they told me they forgot and If i wanted to wait longer for the food. I then said no and left the place still hungry. The food is good but they need to focus.

The food and service at Bua was so good!! We ordered a few dishes to share and everything was delicious. I just appreciate how kind they were. We were there during their pre-dinner prep time and yet they were so cordial. We will definitely be back.

Came here today to celebrate my friends birthday and mine.Huge disappointment!The water was the first thing I noticed. It had an old off taste. We both ordered from the lunch specials. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai which was ridiculously sweet and lukewarm. The salad was very bland, and the steamed vegetable were literally teetering cold. My friend had the same experience but also complained (to me) that her brown rice was cold. My ŵhite rice was okay. I will not return!I dont know why I would bother but I took the left overs home and my husband took a bite of the Pad Thai and said it was awful!

Went here for dinner the other night. It is a nice place.Its your standard Thai family style restaurant. You can order plates to Share and they have lunches specials too. The portions are not enormous, but getting 2 or 3 items will feed 4 easily. If you are looking for giant portions this isnt your place then. They also have some good appetizers too.The selection is, for most items, pick what you want and then select your meat option to go with it. They offer Tofu and just vegetables too. So you can actually order the same thing and just get a different meat so its a new flavor. I Got the Cashew Nut & Dried Chili with Chicken, the Drunken Rice with Chicken and the Glass Noodles Salad. It was all really good and filling. You can really get a lot of different items to mix and match.As for drinks you will be able to get Water, Soda and Teas. I know they had beer, but wasnt really looking to see what other Alcohol they had.Overall it was a nice place and the staff was very friendly. It was a little slow but not so much that your waiting a very long time, but be patient as they are a small staff, which is pretty typical for a shop like this. . They also have to go orders and order ahead, so that is always an option for you too. I will be coming back.

Everything is too sweet, especially the Thai tea, and even the stuffed mushroom. Pad see ew is okay, but still, you can clearly taste the sweetness that push you away from enjoying other seasoning.

The food was well prepared and presented, but it came out very slowly and it was difficult to find a server. The pad Thai was delicious and the Tom yum was served in a nice heating pot. The boys loved the yellow curry and we were all filled with three dishes.

Nice, quiet Thai place with rather better food than most in the price range. Most selections available in a variety of options: pork, shrimp, chicken, beef, tofu; and a variety of spice levels. Over all, a cut above food quality at the price. Particular winners were Beef Green Curry, Medium Hot, Tom Ka Kai soup, medium, larb salad in beef or pork.Service was quick and competent.

My husband and I went to dinner with a couple friends this evening. This was the first time we have eaten at Bua, and everything everyone ordered was fantastic. I had a fried rice dish with beef, with a sauce and it was the best fried rice I’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere is very pretty and the prices are very reasonable. One of our friends enjoyed the food, atmosphere, service so much that he asked for a card. My husband and I go out to dinner with him frequently and we’ve never seen our friend ask for a card, so I know he enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere, as we did.

I keep coming back to this restaurant for dates, dinners with friends, and meals with my family. The food is DELICIOUS and the menu offers a wide variety. The ambiance inside and outside is really nice— if you have a group coming to eat, call and make reservations! The staff are wonderful and helpful. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in downtown Claremont.

Service was good, but the food tastes like it is catered to an American palette (very sweet, like extremely sweet, and not sour or spicy). If you are used to eating more authentic Asian food in 626 or OC just manage your expectations. I got pad Thai lunch special and it was extremely sweet and had a bright red color. It came with an iceberg lettuce salad with an also sweet mayo dressing.

Honestly some of the worst service I have ever had to deal with…I waited 20 minutes to be seen once I was seated, I actually had to flag someone down. After that we waited over an hour for our food. It wasn’t even busy tonight. Overall appears to be a horribly mismanaged restaurant with no regard for the customer.Maybe try it for take out, but dining in is not a good option.Please get your stuff together now. This is not an establishment in its current condition. You cannot do this, learn how to manage your place before you open your doors.We are also not the only table experiencing this just so you know.

I love Thai food. But Im sorry this spot wasnt it. Ordered the chicken sate with peanut sauce. The chicken was like rubber and peanut sauce was runny. I also order chicken fried rice but they barely put any chicken in the fried rice. Had to add chili paste and powder to add flavoring. The pad see ewe was probably the closest thing to par. It was my first time ever having it with carrots. If you guys havent... go check out Sanamluang down the street.

The food is good, not mind blowing delicious, but it is good. Beware. The portion sizes are not big. This is the first Thai place I have visited with surprisingly small portions. The restaurant is severely understaffed! During my visit, waitresses were literally running from one table to another. I saw the kitchen staff delivering food to tables and refilling waters. Waitresses were bussing tables. The wait time was excruciatingly long. I honestly felt horrible for the staff. They were working very hard.

The portions are good to share for two people anymore it might be a bit small. In all the food was good service was good and the restroom were clean, they didnt have a diaper changer which would have been nice but I think I would go back next time Im in the area and in the mood for Thai.

I always go here 24/7 since I was 12. It’s very good and tasteful with reasonable prices. The bua ice cream is one of the best ice creams! Also, the chow mein is simple yet very tasteful. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with the dish you choose! (FYI they do put a lot of mushrooms in most of their dishes. I love them tho 😋).

Food was ok, Ive had better. Portions were small. Waited a while to be seated and then we were seated at a dirty table. I asked the hostess if she could clean it and she didnt seem happy about it. I had to ask for chile/hot sauce condiments which wasnt a huge deal but they should have at least offered.They were also slow to bring us water. We were half way through with our appetizer when we finally got our drink order.Lastly when we got our bill we hadnt even signed it when hostess came by to get it. We felt rushed. Bua is a classic for me in Claremont. It is always great for large groups. The staff are awesome, and they always make check in to make sure everything is fine. Throughout my years at Claremont McKenna, I would honestly say I ate at Bua Thai at least twice a month (usually once/wk).The service is great, the food is delicious and the menu variety is solid. They have fabulous lunch specials throughout the week as well and the menu is reasonably priced. If you like Thai food or are itching to try something different in Claremont, I highly recommend visiting Bua Thai, you wont be disappointed.

Stuffed Chicken Wings are butterflied and stuffed with ground chicken and glass noodle. The chicken wing flavor works great with peanut broth sauce. There is a lot of meat and filling. These could be a meal in itself. The outside is very crispy and contrasts nicely with the interior which resembles chicken meatloaf. Rating: 4/5Seafood Drunken Fried Rice is a generous portion. It has a lot of seafood, but the sauce used in the stir-fry is too sweet. It needs more shoyu (soy sauce) to balance out the sweetness. Medium spice level is perfect. Rating: 3.5/5Garlic Short Ribs has a nice flavor, just sweet enough. The meat needs to braise longer before flash frying as it is tough and dry. The garlic flavor needs to be pumped up as it is not apparent. Rating: 3.3/5Crispy Duck is too sweet. It would be better to serve the sauce on the side so duck stays crispy and customer can add the sauce to their liking. The vegetables helped to cut the sweetness down. It is also hard to tell what is bone versus meat with so much sauce in the dish. Rating: 3/5Coconut Creme Brûlée has nice coconut flavor. They use coconut milk versus cream so it is not as creamy as a traditional creme brulee. It tastes more like a sweet Asian omelet with big bubbles inside. Rating: 4.3/5
