Bun & Mi in Santa Monica

Excellent place.Vietnamese food made with love. Gluten-free noodles 🍜 were excellent, not to mention the exceptional sauce.The customer service is hard to find so attentive.

This place is unreal. Husband wife owned. The food is indescribably unique. Portions are generous. Priced right.Was headed to father office and pulled an audible because the food looked so yummy. Chefs kiss.

A hidden gem. Saw this place on our way to a nearby shop and glad that we stopped by for dinner. First the banh mi - you have to pick the pork belly and def among the most delicious I’ve ever had!! The chef did not shy away from incorporating a substantial fatty part, but most of the fat must be cooked away and what you got were pieces of meat/fat that were so rich in flavor and melt in your mouth and with super al dente skin. An incredibly indulgent experience with the fluffy rolls (crispy crust) and mayo, nevertheless balanced by the pickled carrots and daikons. The noodle bowl was equally good - loved the garlic shrimps which were so tender and juicy.

Lovely family run place, they know everyone’s names and seem to be a part of the community, food is amazing aswell! The Bahn mi is good but what is really amazing here are the noodles, something I get crazing for often! Highly recommend going here and supporting local family run businesses.

In a word - AMAZING! The Saigon Grilled Chicken Sandwich is LEGIT! Super passionate owners and it shows in the quality of their food.

Alvin and Pamala are great. The love and care they put into the restaurant can be felt and tasted! The sandwiches are my favorite and their seasonal soup is especially good on a rainy or cloudy day!

Best kept secret on Montana Ave! Alvin / owner makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door and remembers repeat clients by name. His wife Pam, makes magic in the kitchen and nails the dishes every time. The pork belly is so tender and all the dishes Ive tried tried are packed with flavor. There is something on the menu for everyone and Ive personally witnessed how much joy kids get from eating at Bun & Mi. I look forward to my visits each time and check their IG for specials like beef noodle soup or curry

I am always looking for new places to try and found Bun & Mi. What a great addition to the Santa Monica area. The pork belly banh Mi is delicious. I’ll definitely be back for lunch. I would also recommend the blueberry lemonade. Very friendly staff.

Alvin is a super friendly owner and makes you feel welcome the moment you step in. Love the modern aesthetic but found the seating a bit awkward.I had the pork belly noodle bowl with the house fish vinaigrette - it was refreshing and tasty. However I felt the pork belly could have been a bit more flavorful. The rice vermicelli noodles I had were thick and frankly tasted like plastic, not what I expected at all.

Alvin and Pamela are so accommodating and kind that being at the restaurant makes you feel like you are a guest in their home! The food portions were huge and it was so refreshing and delicious. Also, Alvin impressively remembers every single name of his customers!
