My boyfriend and I found this place when we were both recovering from the flu. We wanted something not too heavy, but also substantial with a good ratio of easy-to-digest carbs and a good amount of protein. Well, besides that technical talk, we just wanted something comforting. Hainan chicken to the rescue! We found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out mostly based on the reviews and their close proximity to us. We didnt really know what to expect since Hainan chicken can vary in tastes purely from the accompanying sauces. This place also offered different takes on the classic dish, from a lemongrass option to a fried option. We opted for the classic burd since we wanted to try their standard take on Hainan chicken. The meal comes with two sauces: a ginger scallion oil sauce and a chili ginger sauce. A cup of hot chicken soup is also served with the meal.Everything worked so well together! The rice is perfectly flavored, with what Im assuming is the rich chicken stock. The chicken itself is tender and juicy, not dry at all. The chicken normally sits atop a bed of cabbage, but we prefer to order it without the cabbage. The sauces are just so complementary, and everything just marries so well together. Then the hot, comforting soup is exactly whats needed as the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Were so glad we tried this place. Since we first tried it 2 weeks ago, weve been here 4 times. Thats how much weve enjoyed the food. The staff is also very personable and friendly. It seems like they have some sort of special going on with their sugarcane juice and plates, although Im not sure if thats temporary or during certain times.Everything weve tried thus far has been good. We will keep coming back to try the different options they offer and to show our support.

OK So... First things first, Burd Chicken Rice offers an awesome experience thats hard to beat. To me the attention to detail from the staff is impeccable, making every guest feel valued and welcomed. The real star, though, is the food ( Specializing in chicken with rice what can go wrong with that combo?? ), this place serves up dishes that are bursting with flavor and freshly made ..Im not used to eat khmer style dishes and Im impressed Ill be back for more, this place is a must . Five stars all around!

Move over Chic fil a and Raising Canes theres a new chicken in town and the flavors are kickin their tail!I had the original burd and my sister had the mixed burd and both were awesome. The mixed burd has an added lemongrass chicken and its fantastic. The key is the ginger based sauce and its thick and perfect. The thickness helps it stick to the garlic rice and chicken better. The scallion herb with oil is also carefully balanced and adds texture when mixed with the rice. Burd chicken rice is highly recommended if youre into chicken, southeast Asian cuisine or simply good wholesome food! Youre missing out if you dont make it out here. The cane drinks are perfectly sweetened. The kumquat cococane drink was a phenomenal mix between sweet and citrus. We ended the meal with their waffles and it was warm and crisp on the outside and soft and a bit chewy in the middle. The best part is the people are kind hearted and always willing to share how they found their beginnings and how theyre committed to good, quality food.

I had an amazing meal at Burd chicken! The Hainan chicken was incredibly tender and juicy, with perfectly seasoned rice that was full of flavor. The portion size was great, and the presentation was top-notch. Its a quick and easy option for lunch, perfect for a delicious midday meal. Definitely a must-visit for Hainan chicken enthusiasts!

It is all the hype! I had to support my Teo Chiu Khmer community when I saw a new local spot pop up.We had the Mix Burd and Classic Burd. The ginger scallion and chili ginger sauce is 🔥🔥🔥I love the lemongrass anything so the Mix Burd was a good combo .For drinks we had the Cane O Matcha. My daughters had the croffle.Everything far exceeded my expectations! Definitely coming back! Super sweet family!

This place reminds me of home. Their original flavorful food and drinks are so refreshing. My most favorites are their classic BURD, BURD Bombs, and their refreshing Cane O-Matcha. Their burritos is so unique and amazing. Their staffs are super friendly. RECOMMENDED 👍👍

The food was decent, I was very thirsty afterwards. I ordered the classic Burd plate, the chicken arrives over a bed of cabbage. The cabbage was raw cabbage, I was it was blanched or pushed to the side and came with some ginger miso dressing. That would be delicious and fit with the theme of the plate. I also got a Burd burrito, it was good, but I wish they gave me the option of getting the chicken skin-less. Im not fan of eating the chicken skin when its not fried. Also the wrapping was so oily, I understand you need to warm it up, but itll be nice if it wasnt so oily

Highly recommend this place. I used to think I didnt like Hainan rice because I thought it was really bland. Just turns out I was eating at all the wrong places. Burd Chicken is one of the places that does Hainan chicken really well for 13.95 a plate. Fair pricing given todays abysmal cost of living. Plenty of parking in this plaza in West Covina near the AMC theatre.

Burd Chicken Rice and Sugar Cane offers a unique dining experience that blends traditional flavors with modern twists. The chicken rice is fragrant and flavorful, with tender pieces of chicken perfectly complementing the aromatic rice. The addition of sugar cane refresher drink adds a delightful sweetness to the meal, balancing out the savory flavors. Overall, Burd Chicken Rice and Sugar Cane is a must-try for those seeking a taste of authentic cuisine with a creative twist.
