2023-07-28 06:08:41Came here for a birthday. I personally think the one in SF is better, been to the SF one twice now. Still super new so I think they’re trying to perfect the menu but I would say it’s getting there.Nice presentation of food but some of the dishes were a bit bland compared to the SF one. The cocktails were pretty good. This restaurant is situated near a brand new plaza so not a lot of restaurants near by but I can see this area being up and coming.I would give this place a 4/5.

2023-08-12 09:02:45I tried Burma Love in SF last year and loved it, and thus I was excited to hear that they are opening up in Menlo Park. I went there with my family and it did not disappoint. My dad, who is typically a picky eater, also liked the food and the Burmese cuisine. The food and service were great, and the staff was pretty friendly. This ones a bit smaller than their SF branch but the decor is pleasing. It has ample options for vegetarians as well.I would highly recommend the Tea Leaf Salad (ofc you have to get the Tea Leaf Salad!), the Kebat, and the Fiery Chicken. The Hawker Garlic Noodles lacked some flavor and the Roti Platha was just a little flakier to my liking.I certainly look forward to my next visit. I strongly recommend getting a reservation in advance if possible. My only complaint would be that the food is slightly pricey.

2023-08-04 15:32:29Ive heard about this place when I lived in SF but never got around to trying it. Wow, was I missing out!Luckily Burma Love has graced us with their presence in Menlo Park and the food is phenomenal. My husband and I ordered the following:-The Harp Cocktail (sweet and smokey)-Roti with Coconut Curry Chicken (Incredibly light, flakey, and buttery with a delicious not too spicy curry that was flavorful)-Tea Leaf Salad (prepared tableside, was very flavorful)-Garlic Noodles (added shrimp and totally worth it! cooked to perfection)-Superstar Fried Rice (a tad spicy, but very good)-Beef Kebat (Sweet and Savory but really pleasant and interesting)-Sorbet Duo (refreshing and not too much)Overall had great service, attentive staff, food was fast, and now have a new favorite in the area. Reservations recommended especially for the weekend.

2023-07-22 18:00:29Visited this new branch on their 3rd day after opening. The mohinga (catfish noodle) and cheesecake were fantastic. Mohinga was a unique twist on one of my favorite dishes. Noodles serving size was a little smaller than I remember compared to the SF location. Decor was really great. The only comment I would add is that service was slow and felt disorganized like the staff aren’t fully trained yet- but probably understandable for a new restaurant. Will definitely return though, and glad to see new options opening up in the area!

2023-08-04 06:08:06Excited for their Menlo Park location, hard to get reservations so book in advance, the food and cocktails are great. Love their tea leaf salad among many of other dishes. Serving staff is newer so they can use a bit more training but otherwise, a great place.

2023-07-24 03:20:09I had heard great things about the San Francisco location so I was excited to hear that Burma Love was coming to Menlo Park! The staff were all so nice; we talked to one of the owners and felt very welcomed. The food was amazing and I loved the overall vibe of the restaurant. I look forward to returning and trying more items off the menu.

2023-07-30 11:22:41I was very happy to have discovered Burma Love on Yelp. I needed to find a place for a group that was having an event in Menlo Park and this jumped out as a new restaurant with a cuisine that is not your typical fare. And its reviews for its other locations were quite good. When you walk into Burma Love you immediately notice how well-decorated it is. Our table was already set up for us which was a nice change from some restaurants who treat reservations more like waiting lists. The table was very a nice long wooden table and the chairs were quite comfortable. Even the drinking glasses got compliments from the group. 👏One thing that is interesting about Burmese food is that since most people arent familiar with Burmese cuisine including me we end up comparing it to what we expect from the cuisines we know. This led to some disappointment from people in the party when expectations werent met.The party was mixed between giving this a restaurant a three or four star reviews. The three star reviews were because either they thought the taste was nothing special, the prices were a bit too high or the portions were too small. Some people did not even like how the plates were small.I personally enjoyed the milk tea and roti appetizer, thought the tea leaf salad was bit underwhelming, found the eggplant side to be a bit too salty and too close to Panda Express 🐼, but really liked the cauliflower and trumpet mushroom side 🍄. I thought the presentation and service and ambience were excellent which is why I am giving this restaurant 4 stars.

2023-10-21 03:37:44Receptions very rude when we asked not to be seated by the bar and front door. It was there or nowhere. Just not handled well.Server and service was terrific, very hospitable. Food was good, nothing to complain about, just not exceptional. Wine list is a C- at best. A lot of room for improvement there.Noise became so loud, we were unable to chat without yelling. Was eager to get going, my voice couldn’t take any more.Given the prices, there are many better options

2023-08-11 01:11:11Loved the team dinner that we had at Burma Love. I was excited to hear that one had opened in the peninsula after loving the restaurant in San Francisco. The food was amazing and the service was absolutely top-notch. The servers were incredibly attentive and helpful. We ordered a large variety of dishes and enjoyed all of them. Notable standouts were the truffle cream roti and fiery, braised tofu. The restaurant design was beautiful as well. 10/10
