The taste and freshness of the food was amazing! The employees hustle to get the food prepared and to you in a super busy environment. The service was awesome! The price is pretty in tune with other really good restaurants serving the same kind of food, and we’ll worth it! Will definitely make this a go to spot when visiting Clovis.

Awesome as always! Fresh food - great service - good prices! To the people that are reading this and thinking, ew, a fish place..., well, youre wrong. The closest thing that I get to fish is the shrimp. And that of course is with my chicken and roast beef. The teppanyaki sauce and ginger soy drizzle are my go to. As well as the crispy onion, garlic and tempura crunchies on top. I was one of those people that thought I would never like this place. So glad I tried it several years ago and been coming back ever since. 😋👍

The place is good, there isn’t a whole lot to say that is bad, only if you don’t like indie music, they play that all the time there. Not bad though I’m not complaining, but if you don’t like indie music just take it To go or just sit outside! It’s a pretty good outdoor seating area too! Anyways, the food tasted fresh and they make it right there in front of you. The people are very friendly and are more than happy to help you out! The only problem I can say is that I asked for wontons on my shrimp tempura bowl and they forgot to add them, I didn’t mind the mistake so I didn’t ask for them, but that didn’t ruin my experience

Its safe to say Butterfish is close to top tier poke, Ive been to different poke locations but they really arent all that and quite expensive. The size portion is worth the price, getting a regular with shrimp and seared ahi (which isnt extra charge like other spots) with a few toppings and Im not hungry for half the day. Refreshing, filling, affordable. Only reason I didnt give a 5⭐ is the lack of customer service, the staff is nice but I never get lite sauce even tho I ask every time. 9/10

Probably the most consistent chain poke in town. All the workers are very friendly. The consistency from the food to service is good Accross the board. The competition for poke is high on the Central Valley so this place definitely stands out.

My wife and i decided to stop here for lunch after our daughters pediatric appointment. I had previously eaten at another poke place called pokebowl express and we were less than thrilled about our experience. I was very skeptical about eating at another poke place, but Im glad I did.Location: tucked away in the corner of a busy parking lot. There are no parking stalls directly in front of the store, but plenty of parking within walking distance. Its located Clovis, so I felt very safe!Food: absolutely blown away at the freshness, uniqueness, and portions of the servings. Staff is friendly and the place looked very clean.Overall, Id give it 5 out of 5. Great place to eat poke.

The people that work there are great. Very attentive, great attitudes. I have the large bowl with shrimp, salmon, ahi, crab and the seared ahimsa on a bed of brown rice. Toppings consisted of seaweed, kimchi, Masago and soy beans.

Best bowls around! We waited & waited for it to open & its absolute worth it! Great quality fish, friendly staff, & hundreds of options. Try the pre-selected recipes if you havent had it before, then learn to venture out. Plus you can use the app & order ahead to avoid the line (theyre often busy).

I went to lunch here today and when I sat down with my to-go bowl the lid wasn’t on completely, so my whole bowl spilled onto the table. It was right at 12 and the place was packed. I went up to the counter bypassing the line, and one employee immediately saw what was in my hands and said “did your bowl fall, I’ll get right on making you another one” and he jumped right on it. He didn’t ask any questions except what I wanted in my bowl, and I was sitting down back at my table no longer than 3 minutes after I had spilled. Best service A+++

Whoever was cooking on July 17th in the afternoon. They did NOT cook my teriyaki chicken properly. I ended up getting salmonella from the not fully cooked chicken. When I asked for a replacement, the people behind the counter were happy to do so. That was nice. However, this is on me for not realizing it sooner. They took out the chicken, finished cooking it, and placed it back on the same bed of rice that the medium rare chicken was sitting on. I didnt realize it until halfway through the meal. I am definitely not coming back nor recommending this place to anyone.

Great food! Very fresh and light, but filling. I got a regular bowl with tuna, seared tuna, and salmon; and my wife got the same with tuna, salmon, and shrimp. We both chose edamame and sriracha ponzu sauce, as well as a smattering of other mixings. We got the Tokyo Fries on the side too and we were stuffed but we didn’t feel disgusted with ourselves and sad. A wonderful change of pace!

Each time I visit with the hope of seeing improvement at this location, I come away completely disappointed. The portions and freshness continue to deteriorate. The app ordering system is cumbersome, but the real problem is the shorting of ingredients when placing orders through the app. On my most recent visit, I ordered 5 scoops of salmon plus 1 extra scoop of salmon. They served me 2-3 scoops. I dont believe the owners are involved at all, otherwise this couldnt possibly be their acceptable business practice.

Bae and I came here for dinner. Over all good experience. We ate in the outdoor seating area and felt safe enough to take off our mask. We ordered via the app and it was a seamless process. We ordered our food hot but we found out when we got there that they don’t serve hot bowls (except 1). The butterfish near woodward park is the one that serves hot bowls. Over all good experience and enjoyed our meal.

Definitely one of the more unique poke places Ive been to recently. Their kelp noodles are both crunchy and airy and without the strong iodine taste that typically accompanies such preparations. For the amount you pay, you get enough to leave comfortably full. The fried maitake appetizer is a must to try. Meaty and perfectly paired with the citrus curry sauce. Alternating between the fresh poke and rich tempura is very very satisfying. Their house drink today was raspberry mint for a perfect trifecta of yum!

I love a Butterfish and I usually go to the one on Friant in Fresno. But decided to go near the one by my work for lunch. I wasn’t greeted to begin with and most of the employees were friendly but a lady there name Joe or Joy. She was not pleasant nor did she smile. She was rushing with preparing my food and she pretty much wasted the salmon I added as my protein and left some in bowl which I would assume most places would want their food served to paying customers and/or eating. Not thrown away in the garbage bins. Overall experience is a 1 star due to her service alone. Hire better employees for Butterfish like the ones on Friant

Honestly I really love poki bowls but this place just puts them to shame, they give you the smallest portions and it’s ridiculous, you pay extra for shrimp just to be given 5 pieces and don’t even get me started on the avocado. Im highly allergic to shellfish, but this happens to be my daughters favorite place to eat, so I dont mind bringing them here, because it means the theyll actually eat veggies. My first visit here, I was going to just have a coke, since most everything on the menu contains shellfish in one form, or another. Then I spotted the Chinese Checken Salad. I asked the girl behind the counter if there was any shellfish in that particular dish. Her response floored me. She asked me a couple of questions about what I could, and couldnt eat, and then promptly disappeared into the kitchen. She returned carrying fresh, unopened ingredients from the back, and began to prepare said salad for me. Then she said, My dad has a shellfish allergy, too, He has to be very careful whenever he goes out to eat, so I know how careful you have to be. The simple fact that this young person took the time, and effort, to make ensure that there was almost no chance of my food coming into contact with any kind of shellfish, whatsoever, meant so much to me. The food, itself, was delicious, and the Chinese Chicken Salad has become one of my favorite dishes. But, its the superb customer service and attention to detail that make this place a wonderful place to eat.

If you like healthy, delicious, fresh, and unique fast food that comes in a bowl, this is your place. Poke bowls are all the rage, and I have had some good ones and I have had some not so good ones, and this place is amazing. Incredibly tasty choices, like ahi, salmon, beef, shrimp, then a plethora of sauces, and fresh additions. Oddly, I went with a beef one ( only odd because I love sushi), but it was so good I’m glad I did. It was one of the specialty bowls and since it was my first time there, it was the easiest to order, but really really good. Service is friendly and pretty quick.

I love this place. The staff is friendly. The servings are plenty. The process is speedy. The food is delicious. The place is pretty well set up.I havent had a bad bowl. Honestly love this place, all my friends do as well. The poke bowls are amazing, with a good variety of toppings. Staff is usually super friendly and inside the restaurant always has a good vibe and good music. My only issue seems to be with the mobile orders. About half the time I make a mobile order they seem to forget something (usually a side of wonton chips). Just make sure you check your orders if you do a window pick up or you may leave with only part of your order.

I appreciate the competitive pricing considering the quality and selection are much better than other poke places I have tried. The only place to offer real crab- so yummy!! I wouldnt go so far as to say rude, but they definitely werent friendly. The staff at the Fresno location have always been super nice. Nice goes a long way in my book. I decided yesterday to try this place out because I had read all the great reviews. I am very very very disappointed. Also very very let down. Within the very first bite I took of the salmon they had put in my bowl I knew something was wrong. The salmon didn’t have the usual silky texture. NO instead it was grainy and very hard to chew. Did not break down easily in my mouth. Also, within the first bite I could tell there was something not good with the salmon, because of the overpowering odor coming from my mouth and the bowl. It was very difficult for me to notice it before hand because I’ve had covid so my sense of taste and smell is off. But once I took a bite I noticed it immediately. I can’t say exactly what the odor smelled like but I can tell you it was extremely strong. And not a good smell at all. When I asked my brother who hasn’t had covid to smell and taste it his face said it all. Also my rice was not even remotely cooked. So I paid 17.89 for a completely inedible poke bowl. If that’s what you want to call it. I would def not call that a poke bowl. They really need to up their game. First time costumer that WILL NOT be coming back EVER!!!!

Excellent spot for poke, honestly its probably the best Ive been to. Their ingredients are extremely high quality and they have so many options that many other poke restaurants dont have. A lot of creativity went into their menu options and it shows. They have steak and chicken options for those who arent crazy about raw fish. Their crab is not crab salad, its real crab. Huge chunks of it. (Well worth the $2 upcharge) Their staff is incredibly friendly and polite, they usually give good suggestions about things to add in. Cant recommend this place enough and I hope they continue to expand in the future!

A place that charges EXTRA to add crab to your CRAB BOWL is what this world has come to. How can ANYONE justify charging $2 EXTRA per scoop for crab when all you get is maybe one or two pieces, SMALL pieces, of crab per scoop? I dont care how good the food is, and it isnt consistent, it is not worth the ridiculous price hikes. So if youre looking to pay almost $25 for a crab bowl that has mostly rice with maybe 4 - 5 pieces of crab, this is the place for you. Lost a longtime client. Food is amazing. Love it. But what I don’t love is seeing one of the kid employees stand at the urinal in the bathroom to relieve themselves and go back to work without washing their hands. Absolutely disgusting and I will not be returning to Butterfish Clovis. Too bad I finished my meal before seeing this kid pee and not wash his hands. I was going to mention this to someone at the restaurant but it was all 20 year old kids working. I am sure my concern would not have made its way to the people making decisions.

The time that we were there, my younger brother and I were the only non- caucasian customers. They completely ignored my younger brother (who was standing next to my left) and was focused serving me and the white guy who came after us. I felt really awful for my younger brother because he was the one who assisted to eat here and pay for us two. He was very upset, didnt want to make a scene, paid for my meal and he got a burger next door.As an older sister, I didnt like how I saw my 23 year old younger brother was treated. I would not come back with any family members, especially not with my sons.Food was great, 5 stars but not the service.

Interesting take on food. I think this is actually Hawaiian cuisine, but Butterfish does some type of Japanese inspired spin on things. The food is really good, its reminiscent of eating sushi, very similar indeed but all in a bowl. If youre looking to try something new, dont shy away and try this restaurant.

This place is awesome!! You customize your food - I had a little brown rice with several crunchies (sweet potatoe and another), cilantro, and several other additions suggested by the preparer, with shrimp on the side. I have never tasted such great shrimp!! It was sirachi or something. My first time there, so pardon my vagueness! We will definitely be back! Please build one in SE Fresno!!

I went for lunch today (July 13, 2018). The guy who served me put only a half scoop of tuna instead for one scoop. Same thing on Salmon. I could be able compare a lady who was serving a customer standing before me and she was very reasonable. I asked my server why it is smaller than a scoop (only 4-5 small pieces) and replied that “this is it”. This guy was rude and thought he was smart. I went to Pokiland a few days ago. Their portion is almost double than this guy served me. I will not recommend the Clovis location to anyone.
