This store is absolutely worth the visit. The interior is spacious. The service is welcoming. Its well maintained. The tanks are clean. The prices are competitive. They carry all sorts of aquatic furnishings, tanks, supplies, food etc. They have everything from the ordinary to the exotic. They had the most beautiful Iguana, I had ever seen. The young ones were engaged and happy as they looked around. The service was welcoming, knowledgeable and caring. There is ample parking. Its an interior plaza store...way in the back facing Rowland. I highly recommend this location.

Check your receipts before you leave...one yellow shrimp priced at $5.98 was somehow turned into the price of 3. I ended up paying $17 for one single shrimp when the quantity on the bag says 3. Perhaps it was a simple mistake, but now it will be my word against theirs. Im going to call back tomorrow when theyre open and explain to them my issue. Will update review to see if they are honorable.

I had a fantastic experience at C K Fish World! This local fish store truly exceeded my expectations. Visited this local fish store for the first time today. I was impressed with the diverse selection of tropical fish, they have exotic selection of fish so not just the basics you see at other stores. If you are looking for good quality and healthy fish this store is for you. They have beautiful hybrid discus fish at competitive prices for example. If you are into planted tanks this store has a wide selection of plants and hardscape materials. The display tanks are stunning which I learned were designed by professional aquascapers. The customer service was great. Eddy was really helpful and even gave me an extra plant for free. I will def come back, they even have reptiles!

They moved across the street. Sometimes they have a good variety of fish and sometimes its just some of the same every where. But it always change good to check to see new stock. And fish are usually healthy. I never had an issue from any fish quarantine wise.

When I first came into this place. I felt like I needed a bed just to relax and Lay down and watch the fishes. It’s way better than Petco or Petsmart. I am a new customer there and Peter always helps me out and his staff, with any questions that I have. I just remembered the first reason why I was there was Petsmart recommended Fish world to bring in Fish that I didn’t want. Thanks Peter and his staff. See you guys in a couple days for more stuff!

A great selection of fish, and fish paraphernalia. Extremely friendly and polite staff. Came in today on Black Friday and the place was buzzing. The staff were all working their butts off but remained so calm and fun. I had a great time getting some new fish. Shout out to Peter for going above and beyond. Eddie for also going above and beyond and helping me carry my box to my car and also to the awesome young man who helped net and bag my fish. I’m so sorry I forgot to ask your name, but you called my kuhli loaches noodles and that’s the only thing I’ll refer to them as forever now. Thanks again! Oh! Also I wanted to add that they have the bettas set up in their own little systems with moving water and more space than those little cups and as a Betta LOVER that warmed my little heart!

Definitely one of the best fish stores in SoCal. The store is huge and the quality/health of the fish is very high. People always talk about Tong’s in Fountain Valley being huge with a big selection of fish and all that, but the quality of their fish is lacking and they’re overpriced. CK is huge AND they have very healthy fish with better prices. It’s worth driving almost an hour to get to CK Fish World rather than 20 minutes to Tong’s. I hate the Los Angeles area but I’m still willing to drive out here to go to CK. That’s how good this store is.

Been here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Even after COVID theyre still going on strong. Theyve got a wide variety and have everything you need in stock: equipment, hardscape, live stock, plants, and etc. Went today again and was inspired enough to drop nearly $300 on fish and plants because they had everything I wanted.My only criticism is that they should have some staff focus on maintenance and shop upkeep, while some staff prioritize customers. I had 3 staff members swap out on me today while netting me some fish. And on top of that I waited for minutes to be checked out at the register.Keep it up guys.

Best. Damn. Fish. Store. Hands down, Bob’s and CK are my go-to fish stores. I live all the way in Eagle Rock and don’t mind the drive to CK as it is my one-stop shop. I can always count on CK to provide my aquatic life stock with the best care and products. RO, CO2, aquatic plants, frags, aquascaping tools, etc. They got it. Even the staff working here have vast array of aquatic knowledge. You know their fish are healthy when you come into the store and see a handful of staff cleaning the tanks. The owner also responds very quickly on Instagram and can provide photos if he’s in-store.

Too much stuff to look at unfortunately I didnt have time to walk through the entire store. I showed up this time with about $300 cash that I didnt have great deal on a royal pleco, nice African cichlids, found some Ive been looking for for better part of a year that came home with me great price on plants. Had an Aquascape contest featuring Joey the king of DIY who was our guest. Great guy, funny as hell. Anyway CK Fish World was great have some nice deals going on over the weekend. Definitely have to go back, very much appreciate that they are hosting ourScape meetings regularly.Amazing how fast Joey was to assist his fellow aquascaper. Definitely helped him out bunches. I love this fish store. every time I go the employees are helpful and kind. I dont go to any other fish store anymore. Ive recently started a saltwater fish tank again so i decided to go to CK fish world for fish. BUT I had no idea they had moved. But I did notice from their previous store compared to their new store the fish quality went down hill. I saw easily ten saltwater fish dead in different tanks and more sad unhealthy looking fish. The tanks looked dirty the sand looked brown like diatom brown. Ive decided not to buy fish thinking It was a bad shipment or something. I went back a few weeks later the same results the third time nothing but the same overall the fish quality for marine is a 3 of 10. For being called fishworld they should focus on the maintaining healthy fish and clean tanks before they get into reptiles. Unfortunately I wont be going back.

We drove over an hour away and dealt with Eddie. He was very knowledgeable in freshwater shrimpkeeping and answered all of our questions to the best of his knowledge. He was very patient with me being so indecisive when it came time to select each of the shrimps. He took excellent care of us, when you go in just ask for Eddie and he will take exceptional care of you. This will be our go to fish store from now on. Thanks a bunch!

These are my boys, helped me set up my salt water aquarium after 2yrs of hiatus. Patience prevailed over the draw backs of not using live rock, but they told me what to use, do and continue setting up my aquarium. We found this place right before they moved. They were amazing — the tanks were clean, the selection was staggering, and the fish were healthy and happy. We bought several fish and they all survived. But little did we know that was the end of their glory days......We decided to visit right after they moved. Their fish were all pale, sickly and dying, but we could understand that such a large move would stress the fish and they needed time to recover. We took a chance and bought the healthiest fish we could find, but only half of them survived. But we understood they would die because we thought they needed time to recover.....On our third visit, only two weeks ago, we realized that this condition would never change. Their fish are 50/50— either happy and healthy or sick and dying. There is no in-between. We just started up our new big tank and wanted fish and plants, so we took another chance and spent $230 on the purchase. The fish we chose all looked happy, but then disaster struck. We discovered ALL our 20 tetras had incurable Neon Disease, and were doomed to die even before they were purchased. Then the disease spread to the rest of our community fish. We lost all of our 4 glass fish, and our cardinal tetra. We lost 90% of our purchase, and many of our community, because of CKs disease-ridden stock.CK Fish World is a wreck now. We will never go back. Im furious with their abuse of their stock, and extremely sad because I thought we had finally found a good fish store. It makes me sad to see how far they have fallen.From now on we will go to our PetSmart because they have good variety, treat their fish decently, and their fish are NOT SOLD WITH INCURABLE DISEASES STRAIGHT OUT OF THEIR TANKS.DO NOT SHOP AT CK FISH WORLD. Save your money and your community tank from pandemic

Very friendly and knowledgeable people. Tanks are clean and you can tell that they keep on top of their water perimeters. I was super impressed with the variety and health of their fish. If you are getting into nano tanks or aquascaping, they are the place to go. They have rimless tanks, a good selection of plants and lots of wood and rocks. Very glad that I went there.

This place is pretty huge, which was a surprise to me. They sell a lot of things you could get surprisingly cheaper at Petco, such as a $12 10-gallon tank while theirs was way over that price. I specifically am looking for vampire crabs though and had a lot of hopes for this place as the reviews are so positive about them being knowledgeable about fish... They obviously dont know what theyre doing with vampire crabs.They sell them for about $13 each and I would love to take all 3 for free because theyre going to die. Vampire crabs need a habitat of mainly land and a high humidity with lots of plants. Sadly, here, they were placed at the bottom, looking very discolored and not moving very much at all... It was really depressing to see as this was my first in-person encounter with these crabs Ive been so passionate about.Im not sure how to save them at all as buying them would encourage this behavior and I myself am just learning about their care, but after days of extensive research I KNOW theyre not okay and I dont know if the vast variety of animals they are selling are okay either. I know the shrimp they owned looked like a corner was full of dead ones...

Cannot say enough how much I loved this spot. The staff were super knowledgeable, the collection is fabulous and the prices were good! I was especially blown away by the Aquascaping spot and the pre-assembled scapes you could buy for your tank. Seems like a lot if hard work goes into this space with a whole variety of hobbies included. There’s a rather large collection of reptiles, corals, fresh and salt water fish, and a bunch of great deals on new and used set ups! For sure will be making this a regular spot for our hobby-ing!

This place have a lot choice to choose from, highly reccomend for the huge selection but I really have to drop the stars down because the customer service was a letdown. The clerk I asked questions to felt like he was feigning ignorant to avoid talking to customer on purpose. I honestly was curious and wanted to ask for reccomendation as someone who is trying to get into the hobby, I did some research about what kind of filters and materials i should use before hand thinking it would easier to explain to the employee but all I got were very vague simple answers and lazy finger pointing with several sigh of uhhh ahh and umm. Eventually I felt like he didnt want to talk to me anymore and just scoff me off with a bored stare saying its whatever. I dont wanna say that everyone there is as irresponsible as this person because my previous assistant from last time was pleasant, but now some people there just feel like they just want you to buy their most expensive product and hope that youll fall for it. I know we have bad day sometime and i understand but I dont know why must the customer be subjected to your misdirect hostility. I sincerely do hope things doing OK for them and their hostility will soothen out.

This is the place for you if youre into aquascaping! They have tons of driftwood and rocks and nanotanks. I really liked that they have a scape station lol. Horrible experience with Peter. Incredibly argumentative, rude and not willing to honor the reimbursement for the dead fish. I had to remind him that I called and talked to staff who gave me the directions on what to follow on how to be reimbursed. I took a video of the fish as they were dying. I paid $80 for these fish. None of my other fish died so it was not the water, it was the fish that I just purchased from them. I asked to use the store credit offer for rocks instead of fish and he stated that I could only use the store credit for fish. He was incredibly argumentative, defensive and evasive. I had to ask him numerous times to out the $80 credit in writing. I have been here numerous times and each time Peter has a bad attitude. I only come back because the other workers are helpful and I like supporting small businesses. Do not come here if you are expecting honesty and professionalism.

This place is great. Peter and the staff are all very knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming. I started up a 65g fish/reef tank about a month ago and they have walked me through the whole thing. Honest business owner, Peter was awesome! Great advice. Fish are always healthy. I was looking for an R362 JEBO pump for my tank. The owner couldnt find the part in stock with the wholesaler but offered to make a pump that fits my tank. We took the pump in for measuring and it turns out all my old pump needed was to have the motor cleaned out. We didnt need a new pump after all. Now my tank is quiet, and fish arent swimming around all nuts, from stress caused by a noisy pump. Thank you. I love this place so much. Its always my number 1 spot for aquarium supplies and information. I got into the hobby late into last year during quarantine and it has really kept me going. Petco and Petsmart are really no help and ended up almost ruining my experience with fish keeping. That is until I came to this store. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Their prices are amazing and so is the variety of fish. Their tanks are clean and the bettas arent in awful cups like you see in the Big Box stores. I highly recommend coming here. Make sure you research the Nitrogen Cycle before putting fish though. I go out of my area and drive 30-40mins for this place. Although the store may seem small and a bit cramped, dont let it deceive you. This is my favorite go-to store for all marine needs. Their selection on plants, fish, invertebrates and marine frags and corals are amazing imho. I have been here more than 5x as a treat for myself and I always end up splurging (which I already expected). All of my newly acquired marine friends (plants, fish and shrimp) have been disease/pest free which is great and makes quarantining a short 7days only. They even gave me berried ones and I now have 60+ shrimplets and counting! The hardscape materials are cheaper compared to other stores along with most of the items that I ended up scaping my quarantine and cull tanks lol. What sets them apart from the others is how knowledgeable they are, customer satisfaction oriented, honest and happy to help. Unlike the Riverside big fish store, they on the other hand will gladly refund or replace purchases that have died as long as they are within 72 hrs and ofcourse no-fault of yours and reasonable means, which I believe is fair. If youre honest. They will order for you if you need anything specific, you can also call in beforehand so your items are ready for pickup and just drive up. The owner is wonderful and made me feel so welcome even on day 1 like we are old fish buddies and will happily give discounts, making the already great fair prices on their items better and better. They were also THE ONLY store that has the 1 item I have been looking for everywhere (from LA to Riverside) if you dont want to order online (only buceplant and marinedepot have it online). Im coming by in a few days to drop off strawberries from my newly set up aquaponics that I promised him, and maybe not end up buying half the store this time. Fingers crossed. Second time about a year later got another fish that also had ich and killed two of my most expensive fish. At the store I did not detect anything wrong with these fish. Do not buy nano fish here.I have bought three separate schools of nano fish here (brigittae rasboras, Clown Killies, and CPDs) and every single purchase was a disaster, two of the three school dying out entirely in under two days.I am not an inexperienced fish keeper, my quarantine set up is both steady and has had fish from other stores go through it just fine, and I have thriving tanks, so I can be sure that these disasters arent off me. I got 3 emerald corycats, 1 anubias Nana petite, small driftwood, and they gave me some frogbit and duckweed for free. Also in the duckweed I discovered 3 baby blue shrimp and I didnt mind the little surprise so I put them in my tank as well. I really like this place so many cool fish I used to come here with my boyfriend in a long time ago and now were back on the fish game the reason I gave three stars is because in so many times it was so many dead fish I just wish you would scoop them out maybe at the end of the night so theyre not there during the day but I definitely would give him five stars because they do have a bunch of cool fish

This isnt my local fish store but I make the trip to C K Fish World because its one of the best.From having essentials to keeping up with some of the newest waves of products, Peter has what I want and an amazing selection of items that I crave.C K Fish World has the most amount and largest variety of stones for Rockscaping in any store I have been in. Various drift woods, soils, and a good assortment of bonsai.Great selection of Tanks from UNS. Which are great to see in store so you can better plan your Aquascape. Plants are healthy, fish I have purchased (admitly only a few because I do planted tanks) have been healthy and perfect for my needs.One big thing about Peters shop is the amount of motivation I get from seeing his various layouts in the store, his salt water tanks make me want my very own. This store has completely changed in the last year. It is now the best source for the Planted Tank aquarist in north LA County. They have a good selection of plants, lots of fresh water shrimp and fish that you just dont see any where else.

Had just started my tank cycle and rather than just sell me some fish to make a quick buck, they suggested that I let the tank cycle with the two small fish we already had. The fish might be a little more expensive than the major chains, but I appreciate the service.

Came over here to look at the place at random to see how it was. The place has a lot of inventory to help you with whatever you need. Staff always ask if you need help to make sure youre taken care of. I would recommend this place if you like aquascaping, salt water, and fresh water. They have a high level plants to low level plants.

Awesome place! Love the guys there. They are so helpful and know fish. I drive an hour just to go to there. Its not a huge place but well stocked and good customer service. You may have to wait sometimes while they are helping someone when they get a lot of people at once, but Ive never been to a fish store where I havent had to wait once in a while. There are lots of places I can go between my house and this place and I dont go to any of them anymore. I go to CK because its a great place to go. They wont sell you sick fish either. If they get sick fish they treat the tank and tell you....these fish are sick right now, we arent selling them just yet(unlike places like petsmart).Ignore the one bad review, its way off. They arent Thugs. There arent many dead fish. I havent been to a fish store where I havent seen at least one dead fish in a tank while looking around. Fish die, it happens. How would this person know anywat...they said they walked in and walked right back out??

Sweet shop with knowledgeable people working behind the counters. the shops a little intimidating if youre a novice starting out since they have a huge selection of fish, but the guys will guide you in the right direction if you ask for help. the shops run by a bunch of males and they were nice enough let my 5 year old in back to use the restroom. I bought a piece of driftwood for that alone since I wasnt ready to purchase fish. The shop is big, clean, and not a trace foul smells in the air. To me it seems these guys care about the shop and what theyre doing. Ill be back for sure. killer planted tanks!update 03/2016 - i finally purchased a small pot of baby tears from ck fishworld and was concerned since they didnt have any roots. he made a pot for me from clippings in one of his tanks. i less than a couple of miles from ck fishworld and i can say theyre growing mad like weed in my lil planted tank! they didnt shrivel then come back to life or do anything that happens when you sometimes bring aquarium plants into a new environment. they just shot up like wild insane weed. i included a picture as an update. im gonna head down there today and buy a lil pot of dwarf baby tears and see what happens. :)update: 05/2016 - make sure to check in on the tablet by the cash register and you should get $5 off your first purchase and $5 every 5 purchases thereafter. :)

One of the best, if not the best aquascapings in LA.+ very reasonable prices+ large selection of freshwater fish+ very large selection of plants+ lots of male and female bettas+ large amounts of tissue culture cups (not as much as Bobs aquarium or tropical fish in SD)+ high and low end tanks of every kind are for sale+ enormous amounts of spiderwood and manzanita wood+ huge piles of seiryu and dragon stone, plus many boxes of other assorted stones+ knowledgeable and friendly staff+ gorgeous display tanks- while their new buce display is very cool, they are emersed, and emersed buce are a pain to transition imo- RGB flashing betta wall stresses the betta, and makes the store seem cheap- dont sell ada or tropica aquasoil
