First time in Café Mia Brew Bar and Bistro this afternoon. We were graciously greeted by the owner behind the counter. We ordered two carmel frappes and a carmel latte, with the blue zone strawberry avocado toast. All drinks were delicious and the toast was perfection! I love the atmosphere and the energy this cafe brings. We are visiting from MN and plan to visit a few more times before we return home!

Few businesss make you happy and even proud they are in the city/town that you live in. We....are glad this business is here! Many of our friends suggested we try Cafe Mia and today.....we finally were able to. Excellent. Great coffee. Great food (breakfast burritos....everything looked wonderful). Great service. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be going back and highly recommend this wonderful coffee shoppe and bistro.

The food at this cafe is ridiculously fantastic! My first time here and lived in Marina for almost half my life. I would go here more often now to try all of their creation. What a great gem! Horace was so kind and welcoming. My son (18) and I are visiting the area and stopped in for coffee. I had the mexican mocha so yummy with a little spicy kick! I also had the volcano with chorizo. Horace recommended it once I told him I was gluten free and he was so right! I loved it! My son and I will be back and tell our friends and family about this gem of a place.

Super lovely staff and atmosphere! Came here for breakfast. My partner had a breakfast burrito which was great and such a good portion he struggled to finish. I had an avocado toast on rye bread and a coffee. The avocado toast was topped with some great seasoning and was really tasty, but the portion was quite small, especially when you compare with the burrito, and the price is exactly the same. That was a bit disappointing, I grabbed a bagel at a store right after as I was still hungry and did not want to pay another 9$ for a small piece of toast. Other than that, it would have gotten 5*. Coffee was great! Nice touch with the small pieces of orange, very sweet.

Stopped by on my way from Monterey to SFO, and I’m so glad I did!I got the pb-banana toast, pumpkin scone, and latte. Everything was delicious.They had a steady stream of customers, even before sunrise. You can tell this little cafe is loved.

Delicious breakfast here on a Saturday morning in September. A bit of line but it moved quickly and was so worth it! There were still plenty of seats in the cafe, many people take orders to go. Friendly welcome to all who come in. Our coffee orders were taken first and we got to enjoy our drinks while waiting for our breakfast. Loved my cafe mocha! Breakfast was great. Loved the Skinny Burrito-egg whites, salsa, on a smaller sized tortilla. Perfect for me and great taste. Ben enjoyed his sausage breakfast burrito as well. Love the local vibe. Would definitely go back.

The owner, Horace, works register and hes an absolute delight. Very charming, very sweet, overall amazing attitude. He clearly loves what he does. They take the time to learn your name also. Came with roommates, we got 2 breakfast paninis, one with chorizo and one with vegetables, and a Caprese panini. They were all delicious, definitely want to go again and try more!!

One of the most friendly and welcoming places I’ve ever been to. The owner, Horacio, was supremely kind to everyone who came in, including a man who didn’t have enough money for a cup of coffee. He gave him one, along with a large breakfast. And then he gave my dog bacon. Wow. Awesome experience. And the pour over cup of coffee was fantastic! I’ll be back!

Checking from the other reviews this place looks amazing, but unfortunately from my experience the young male at the counter wasn’t very friendly, and the way he made my espresso was definitely the worst I’ve ever had. I’ll try it again maybe when there’s different staff. I went on Monday 12/4 at 9 am.

I have driven by 1,000x I stopped in and I can say I shouldve stopped by sooner. I got a panini & it was delicious. The man behind the counter acknowledged & greeted ever guest. In his talks with customers he discovered a small business owner & offered him space in his café to advertise ❤️Even if the coffee & food were mediocre (which they are not, its fab) Id still come here just for the friendly service.

Great food!! We were at Carmel by the Sea which can get busy for breakfast,nap we decided to venture out.. found this gem not so far away and was glad we did.The owner was super friendly and very accommodating. I asked if it was too early for fish and his response was, its never too early... He made me this amazing grilled salmon with jalepenos. my wife asked about tamales that he then suggested to try it with an egg since it was breakfast, and it was deliciousIf you are in the area or somewhat close, give this place a try. I stayed in Marina for a few days and found Coffee Mia on Google Maps. Stopped in early on a Saturday for a breakfast burrito and coffee. Horace the owner and his daughter were super friendly. The coffee was drip brewed fresh and my Chorizo burrito was enormous. So happy I came here instead of doing a fast food breakfast.

This is the perfect cafe. Horace is still slinging great java, both espresso and pour over. Come for the breakfast burrito, always upbeat demeanor, the food and the coffee are worth whatever it takes to get here. Arrived at 0730 and there was a line that moved fast and you’ll be served with a smile and positive attitude that makes your morning and your day a LOT brighter!!! He knows your name after a couple of visits and I’m so happy he’s still in business after the storm. You won’t be disappointed.

Outdoor seating available.The orange cranberry scone was almost cake-like in the best way and was topped with a thick orange swirled glaze that has royal icing vibes.The Apple, Brie, Basil Avocado Toast didnt have any Basil in it but I honestly didnt miss it there were so many other toppings like avocado, arugula, melted brie, honey drizzle, chili flakes, and prosciutto. Not to mention the toast is a very light and tasty wheat sourdough walnut bread made exclusively for the cafe by a local bakery.

The reviews dont lie, this is a one of a kind small shop, the atmosphere is amazing the employees were so welcoming and the food was good the experience was great, coffee delicious chile relleno casserole was fantastic I had the pork belly croissant, it was good but next time I would definitely try the breakfast burrito, and we got to see the owner welcome a regular family and he pull a I believe was a water Buffalo horn!! Like a trumpet 🎺 just the experience was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Stop by before heading home for brunch, this Cafe is located next to Lucky supermarket and Wilson water store. My boys orders the sausage & egg panini, hubby ordered the pork belly panini and it was yummy. I ordered the Greek avocado toast but I opted out the goat cheese and it was so good. They are pretty good but a bit doughy and heavy for me. I prefer light, flaky and buttery. Thats just me. The chicken pesto panini is really good as is their breakfast sandwich of bacon and egg on a croissant. The place has a friendly vibe and many regulars. I can see why. Horace, the owner is one of the nicest people on the planet. Im not a local but visit the area every 3-4 weeks. This is on my list of regular stops.

What a fantastic place! We chanced upon this little cafe while visiting from Canada, and were so delighted to have breakfast here. Wonderful, authentic, home made food and excellent coffee. My double espresso was perfect and my wifes espresso macchiato was topped with a nice, dense foam. Their baked chile rellano egg and cheese casserole was comfort food defined. The almond croissant was sweet and buttery, perfect pair for the espresso. Even better here was the sense of community. People were meeting each other, holding court on local issues, being friendly and supportive. The owner seemed like the heart of a warm community. Honestly this place felt like the best of America. Recommended.

The coffee was brewed to perfection, not over done like some leading coffee places. They offer all types of sweetner including organic raw honey. I ordered their new Strawberry Avocado toast and just was blown away. Just amazing taste with mix of many things on Sourdough bread with a balsamic drizzle 😋 Also, got a veggie Panini which was again just amazing. I was born and raised in the 831 for the last 34 years, my first time here was both inspirational and disappointing all together. We live in a diverse community up and down the coast and still yet some people still refuse the idea and it shows. This establishment seems to be like most that Ive been to, not brown people friendly. I can tell when people force it upon themselves to give a friendly service, but all it turns out to be is mediocre service. I heard the man say good morning to all the customers but me. I ordered a pastry and he just tossed it on the counter like if I was a dog and I also extended my hand to get my change but instead he dropped it on the counter for me to get it. I want to know who else goes through this almost every time they go in anywhere. Coffee and pastry were good 👍🏽.

Great local Café with awesome hearty breakfast options. I had the Philly steak panini and the meat was so tender and the seasoning is perfect went really well with the sweet peppers. My spouse had the adult grilled cheese sandwich and she lived it. My kids had the pastries and these were fresh flaky and moist at the same time just perfect. To start; The coffee is incredible, and is served quickly with care. The owner, I presume, provides an excellent and passion service. He knows all of the regulars and their ‘usuals’. I am happy to support this local business, and so pleased to see that it is still thriving. The only suggestion I would share is the music could reflect a more relaxing cafe, but this is my preference. I am sure someone likes positive and enthusiastic pop!

This place was such a special experience. Not only is the coffee and food excellent but the service was exceptional. It was as if we were guests in a fun home. We had their ham and egg breakfast sandwiches with coffee. Tasted so fresh like a home cooked meal. They also have this delicious anti inflammatory drink that was extremely good, he called it a “vaccine in a cup” lol definitely tasted the medicinal properties but it was enjoyable to drink.Thank you for being apart of a great weekend. It has a really cool atmosphere, and awesome customer service.The gentleman working the counter, who I believe was the owner, was very friendly. He personally greets everyone. There is small town vibe as the locals sit and drink their coffee, but it doesnt deter him from being nice to everyone who walks in the door. The music is upbeat and kitschy, the staff and the owner are some of the friendliest people Ive had the pleasure of meeting (the owner starts making regulars coffees as soon as he sees them park), they offer free wifi, and their coffee is simply amazing. First impression: the decor seems to have been put together with thought, but deteriorated over time by the lack of upkeep. Fabulous stop! You gotta go here of you like the best Coffee, pastries, breakfast and lunch. The best thing is the service is quick, super friendly and full of insperational items and other cool stuff.The very best part of stoping here is its by the best beach and view of the entire Monterey Bay and Salinas Valley.Oh yeah did mention the best coffee anywhere. I challenge anyone to find a better cup.

Great local spot. Got the breakfast burrito with home made churrizo and the New York Breakfast. Both were excellent and for $6 - $7 each, unbeatable. Its a very small café, so you may have to improvise on seating.

The lattes were not very good. The staff let much more than 6-8 people hang out inside, including a few who didnt wear masks. Larger crowds congregated outside without masks near to the entrance door. I would have skipped the place if the crowds had been there before we ordered.

Where the true locals go for a great cup of java. Horace is great at remembering those that come through the door. Hell even know your usual order and get it ready before its your time to pay. Might I suggest the Nicaraguan Malabar, and the vegetarian egg volcano for an awesome breakfast to start your day.

I honestly love the guys that run the joint but man they have a habit of forgetting orders. The food is wholesome and made by them or someone they know. Though they have messed up my order a few times I would still return just to support a small business owner.

This is the best coffee shop in town. It has many great options for beverages as well as a delicious cafe menu. The owner is almost always around and he and makes sure everything is made with love.

Dude making coffee seemed like a great guy but wore his mask under his chin while he whistled along making everyones order. Even coughed off to the side. This is a tourist area, just wear the mask. (3 stars tho because his personality was fantastic)

Dirty environment. Microwaved food in plastic containers. Staff was friendly but no hairnets.In my opinion...Everything looked dirty. It was severely disappointing. The pastry case looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months - filthy glass, crumbs, dirty old containers. The floors, chairs and tables were dirty, and nobody was tending to them as customers left so good luck eating there unless you like cleaning your own table which is one of the reasons this place defeats the purpose of eating out. The counters were dirty. There were flies inside - yes multiple flies not just one pesky fly that entered randomly. It did not look like they had proper exhaust for their kitchen either. As far as I saw, the cashier did not handle the food directly, which I do appreciate. However, I did see him taking out food and utensils and he (not accidentally, but purposefully) banged the utensils against the wall. Ew. The wall is dusty and dirty. Nobody is cleaning the wall, why would you touch eating utensils to the wall. And of course the patron didnt see it or knowNobody was wearing hairnets, yet everyone in the kitchen had hair. Some had beards even, and if they wont shave a beard net should obviously be required. Absolutely not professional, and absolutely a risk if you dont like eating hair. How is this not a health inspection violation?? Everybody should be wearing hairnets all the time.They MICROWAVE nearly everything. That is so ridiculously insulting to me. Why the heck would anybody want to pay for microwaved food? (Please note, my boyfriend took me here so I did not voluntarily come here, and if I did I would have left. I did express my concerns to him and he agreed. It takes multiple people to open eyes sometimes) I could eat for much cheaper at home using the microwave - if I wanted microwaved food I could buy a whole box of microwave burritos or egg sandwiches for $5 or less. The reason most people like to go out to restaurants is because they dont want to cook, so somebody who likes to cook (a chef) will craft them delicious meals. Chefs use quality ingredients and enjoy cooking properly - stove top and oven. So incredibly disappointing. The worst part about the microwaving is they microwave everything in crappy PLASTIC CONTAINERS. I cannot understand why they wouldnt invest in glass containers. Not only does plastic slowly soak up scents and flavors of what you put in it, heating it makes it worse. Are they at least BPA free?? Nobody knows. Heating up plastic is controversial in general, heating up BPA plastic is absolutely not good for your health. I really hope theyre at least using non BPA plastic. But who wants to eat eggs heated up in plastic in a microwave anyway?!??I did not use the bathroom so I cannot say anything about it, although I wish I wouldve because that is also a major part in reviewing restaurants.I did not try the coffee so I cannot review the coffee.Overall, I would never go back to this place. This is basically a glorified, expensive fast food joint, but less so. Its not fast - we waited at least 15 minutes for microwaved food - and the ingredients used are compromised due to being microwaved in plastic. Even McDonalds cooks their eggs on a grill. Im not a fan of fast food because Im food conscience, but fast food joints are at least faster and cleaner, because they have standards and rules to follow.I really would give one star but I do appreciate that the staff was friendly. Regardless, as previously stated, I wont be returning.

Great food with a mix of homemade and professional chef. The owner is one of the friendliest and most welcoming people ive met. I dont even drink coffee, but I enjoy everything else that is sold here.

The owner is witty & charming. The coffee he uses is top notch! Don’t forget to eat breakfast here! The eggs Benedict are amazing. Great, great, great local place!
