Glad we finally tried this place after driving by for years. Happy to have tried it. We got plantains, crab Benedict, Mexican scramble and a couple drinks. In the end, the food was alright. All of things were okay, but nothing spectacular.

Cozy, quaint, and personal.The restaurant was very clean, and the service was attentive.I was not super hungry the day we went, but I enjoyed a fresh, warm, delicious muffin and some wonderful juice. My friend had what appeared to be a personalized breakfast they make him as a regular. It was a huge portion and looked amazing. Next time, I will be sure to be hungry and try more stuff.

Really great for the first time. Do find parking somewhere in the neighborhood. The food was great! The tofu scramble was good but its not a scramble it was cubes but good nonetheless! And then the sandwich was good as well.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for so long! it was so delicious and big portions in my opinion!The eggs Benedict was perfectly made, and the hollandaise sauce was creamy! The portobello was also seasoned so well and paired nice with everything else on the plate!We also ordered the smoothies. i got the maracuyá and he got the cacau shake! both delicious and refreshing

Food was really good and despite the long 2hr yelp waitlist estimate, we were able to get seated in less than 30min (they have lots of seating for groups of 2). I haven’t had very much Brazilian food other than BBQ before, so trying some other types of dishes was a great experience with unique flavours. I also recommend the Cacao Smoothie - it was super refreshing.

I graduated UCSC 23 years ago, and the quality of eats at Cafe Brasil has NEVER DROPPED. My regular to this day is the Brasiliero omelette with creamed chicken and creamed corn plus added green chiles. Always delicious! My husband went for the crab benedict. And of course, they were accompanied by strong cups of Pilão coffee! I always think Ill refrain from eating the baguette too...but I can never resist.

Love this place. 3.9 on service because I have expectations. Someday they will be met again by the staff of ANY restaurant. But I digress. I get up early, pick up my girlfriend and head to one of the state parks to enjoy the ocean early on a weekend morning. Like 730 or 8am. Once weve had our fill of sand and fog, we head to Cafe Brasil for breakfast. We eat the breakfast. It is good. The coffee is good. The vibe is good. It smells good. So try it out and expect good service!

Great little place with authentic food (as far as I could tell). Staff was super nice and attentive. Small outdoor patio was nice, except for the sound of traffic on Mission Street. They do a nice job of masking the views of the Street with plants. Loved the succulents as the table centerpiece. And dog friendly! Parking was typical for the area, almost none. There were maybe 5 spaces behind the building, including a handicap spot. Nice grassy area with benches to wait for your take out order though.

I read about this place a long time ago and I had the opportunity to go for breakfast. It was a cozy little place and it was pretty quiet on the morning we went. The service was great. There were lots of warm, inviting faces. If you like strong coffee, youll like how they make it. I had poached eggs and avocado on a baguette with tomatoes and mozzarella. It was fresh but it was bland, unfortunately. I added some Brazilian salsa. Although, it was heavy on the onions I was underwhelmed. The potatoes were good. Not dry and a good amount of seasoning. The pancakes were good. They were pretty moist with a sweet maple syrup. All in all, it was just ok. I thought about asking what they are known for and/or what they recommend but i didnt. Id try it again before I make a final decision but until then it was just so so.

This review is mainly for vegetarians. As being one myself, there is a reluctance towards brazilian cuisine as I have mostly related it to steak and majorly non-veg options. But this place changed my view. This is a cute cafe with chill vibes, friendly servers and most importantly enough options for vegetarians. There are some dishes where you can even replace eggs with tofu.All entrees were good, specifically the Greek scramble being our favorite. Plantains were ok, little on the oily side. If you like spicy, ask for their hot sauce. Beware, it is very spicy!!!!

Think Ive been here 6 or 7 times in the last couple of years and every time Ive received friendly and timely service along with delicious food! Usually Im on my own, which as an older woman can lead to not having a great service experience, but certainly here I am treated very well! Every time I visit Santa Cruz this is the spot that I make sure to grab a meal at. The food here is divine. Some of the best food youll ever have. Their shakes and juices I especially love. Its one of the few places I can just pick a random dish knowing it will be great. The staff here are super friendly and are great to chat with.

Nice place to stop by and eat some comfort food, ordered their cod and it was good, mixed in with potatoes served with rice. Ample parking for 4 vehicles and one handicap. Easy to miss as the location is located in a busy road but you will be glad you stopped by.

This is just about the best thing. I started eating here in 2007 and have been coming regularly ever since despite moving to Texas. Regular recommends include their shakes, açai bowls, muquecas, and salad with palm hearts. If youre a meat eater you may like their steaks as I remember liking their thin texture in the past.

Great option for Brazilian food, which is hard to find in the Bay Area. Their feijoada is always a winner as it comes with salad, farofa, and greens. I tried their breakfast menu which is served all day and the cocota was very nice - good flavor on the sauce for the eggs with the sautéed mushrooms. I just wish the spinach was also sautéed (it was raw, just wilted under the heat of the sauce). Also enjoy their fresh juices and smoothies, haven’t tried their açaí but many people were ordering it.You can join the Yelp waitlist ahead of time, which is helpful if there is a wait during peak hours. Service is friendly if not the fastest but food comes out quickly. Limited parking in their lot, otherwise free street parking in the area.

Fabulous selection of a variety of menu items. Plenty of health conscious, nutritional selections. Unique Cafe. I will definitely be back to try several dishes. Today I had a fruit shake (w/OJ vs. Almond Milk), grilled chicken breast polenta which included rice, farofa, and a salad. They have several tofu options. They also have seafood dishes and a juice bar. They also have some items for sale. Excellent experience!

We had a great breakfast here. Its a tiny place with a bit of a wait as it seems pretty popular. Fabulous food! Loads of vegetarian options. The huevos rancheros is probably the best Ive ever had in my life. Their omelettes are really good too. They give you free refills of coffee. Keep in mind that at prime brunch time (I went at 11am on Sunday) the wait can be pretty long. Theyll tell you 45 mins to an hour wait but its actually a lot sooner than that. Keep in mind that they dont take your number down so if youre not there when they call you, youll miss your spot and have to be put back on the list. Overall an excellent brunch experience and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Being that I enjoyed the cuisine as a child and Ive had the opportunity to have Brazilian BBQ on multiple occasions, I figured that it would be great to follow up with this home style restaurant. Overall, the food was delicious. Flavors were on point, the amount was just right, and the promptness of service was excellent. In addition, the yelp check-in (though I didnt use it) is a winner if you a driving from out of town. The only reasons why they get docked a star (really 1/2 star) is parking is a mission there, and they ran out of the appetizer that I wanted.

The Food:The food here was mediocre, but still tasted okay. The portions were good, there was plenty there to eat. The flavor on my food was lacking. I think that if the flavor could be spruced up, the food would be very good here.The Ambiance:It was very cramped in there and it was a bit tough to move around if there was anyone else in the area. Cute little cafe in Santa Cruz! Absolutely loving the style of the venue. We got lucky with a parking spot behind the restaurant but theres only about 4 spots and a tight squeeze so I recommend parking a little further out and walking.They have both dining and take out which we saw many people do especially for their acai bowls, which are to die for! It was so delicious. We dined in and also had the Avocado a Cavalo, Gallo Pinto, and Veggie Cocota. Good and filling dishes.

This place is AMAZING. Totally amazing. We were just going to hit up a regular diner and saw this and so glad we came. The house made muffin is sooooo wonderful and the breakfast selections are so good! The coffee is some of the best coffee Ive ever had. One of the best breakfast / brunch places in Santa Cruz!Be warned that this restaurant is so good that people will wait for hours to get a table on the weekend. I’m not sure if the wait is still as long, after the pandemic, but the food is still as good.I’m not fond of most breakfast foods, especially eggs (which I find to be one of the tastes and textures I despise more than almost any other “food”). However, Cafe Brasil’s egg dishes are actually something I look forward to eating! Honestly, I can count the number of egg dishes that I have ever liked on one hand (before trying the egg dishes here), and still have spare fingers. Yet, Cafe Brasil has several egg dishes that I really like!If you don’t want eggs, though, they have so many other options that you are guaranteed to find at least a few dishes that you will fall in love with, from standard American fare to the very unusual.The most popular item on the menu is the “acai bowl”, which is similar to a frozen smoothie made from raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries (the flavor of the açaí berries) with crunchy vanilla granola on top, and then sliced strawberries and bananas topping all of that. I promise that this açaí bowl tastes even better than it sounds like it would! Yum!I found this restaurant because a friend introduced me to it and I fell in love with the food. Every person I have brought here still talks about it when they visit, and asks to go back.— The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating.— The outdoor seating is dog friendly.— There are plenty of options for most people with dietary restrictions; just let the staff know when you are ordering. (I am vegetarian and at least 1/2 of the menu is available for me to order with only a few items needing any adjustments. There are plenty of vegan options as well as gluten-free options. Just note that if you don’t tell your server, you should expect most dishes to come with fresh cooked bread and butter, and often pan fried potatoes.)

You must eat the Feijoada with the farofa sprinkled on it. The toasty nutty flavor with the rich thick stew is just awesome. I strongly suggest ordering the Completa because you get a larger portion and it has the greens which are a perfect complement.The fresh juices are very nice and I have enjoyed sampling them. The coffee is served with warm milk and you mix your own au lait. I wish the coffee was hotter to be honest.The cafe itself is a converted house so not super scenic but sitting outside is nice. Its a busy place so you might have to fight a little for attention.

Was recommended to this place by a good friend of mine who frequents the area more than I do. Im so glad he did! A great place for brunch options, and each dish was delicious! I got the Ranchero breakfast plate with avocado added and ordered a blueberry muffin made from scratch in house. I was in heaven. A few of us in the party ordered their Avocado Toast and scrambles, and there was no leftovers to go around. Great food!Our host was accommodating and never seemed bothered by our questions over their menu. He was prompt over us getting our check but never rushed us, even though the place was filling up with more people. It was a lovely morning! Highly recommend.

Delicious Food and Drinks of all sorts! This place is only open until from 8:00am to 3:00pm. The parking lot is small and its usally full so its better to just park on the street, plus the street traffic is so heavy its takes a while just to get out! So your better off parking on the street anyway! Theres also a sign in sheet! SIGN IN AS SOON AS YOU WALK UP! Dont be surprised if you have to wait in line to sign in lol! After you sign in your wait can be a long one we waited 50 mins last time we were there! Theres plenty of outdoor seating. The crowd is always hip so it feels more like a cool hangout so waiting time goes by pretty quick! Anyway the food is well worth the wait! I really like this place!

There is nothing on this menu that doesnt taste devine. Plenty of meat, vegitarian, and vegan choices. The juices are also really good which I didnt expect. Acai bowls are popular to split as an appetizer here. The servers are also really great too. Generally a wait so get there early or reserve time to wait. Parking is usually only street because the lot only has 4 ish spaces. I also recommend this place to people if they are looking for a place to start their beach day.

Not only was the food delicious and authentic, the decor, music, and even the bright pastel wall paint were all reminiscent of a typical Brazilian lunch spot. My favorites are the avocado shake, guava shake and the basic plate (prato feiito) or the one with sourdough toast with steak, sausage and eggs with a big side salad. Their creamy balsamic house dressing is excellent drizzled on everything. Ask for the secret hot sauce and a side of hollandaise sauce, when mixed surreptitiously on the plate they are 🔥I like their 🇧🇷traditional fare too like feijoada, moquecas and plump fried plantains with Lizano. Everything loves the açaí bowls but granola is not my thing.

Very rarely do I have such a hard time finding something to eat! I can’t imagine going wrong with anything unless you have some random allergy! The rancheros looked amazing, so did the various stroganoff plates, and really wanted to try the traditional dish (feijoada) but in the end I went with the omelette which I was very happy with! One of my favorite places to get a Brazilian feijoada. I typically get the “completa” but the collard greens have not been very flavorful. Mine is better because I season it with salt, garlic and onions. But the bean stew is always good.Warning ⚠️: the vinagrete was extremely hot last time and I had to remove it from my plate after I poured it. Brazilians don’t put chili peppers 🌶 in vinaigrette. Taste it before you mix with the rest of the food.Overall it’s a quaint place with good service and an extensive menu of Brazilian food. I visit it about 5-6 per year.

It was our first time. We ordered from the counter. No one asked if we were ordering take out or wanted a table. After paying, we were told we cannot eat inside but can sit outside on the bench where others sit waiting for their take out orders. A small area with lots of people, bench close to the road where cars pass through, no space to eat full breakfast. We were told we cannot east inside multiple times, including the manager who said they were so busy and he already wasted 15 minutes of his time talking to us, he cant do anything, & the kitchen probably backed up now because he needed to come out to talk to us. Authentic Brazilian cuisine with a comfy ambience! My Brazilian family found this restaurant by pure chance on a weekend trip to Santa Cruz, and now we always stop by when in the area. Their feijoada is killer without including super fatty meats (just sausages), although I recommend ordering extra rice and farofa if you order the bigger plate. Some juices seem to come unsweetened so you can adjust the sweetness—their acerola smoothie is great. If youre up to trying french fries cooler cousin, order some aipim frito (fried yuca)!

First of all, the breakfast menu has 99% American options, I ordered the omelete Brasileiro and it wasnt anything like Brazilian food. The restaurant is the weirdest Ive seen:1. There are more half of the tables empty but the wait time for dining in is still 45min at 1:45pm.2. Had the crab omelet and it was really good. Fruit bowl was really fresh and service was great. Wasnt crazy about their polenta but you cant please everyone. If you like Chai tea its really good here.

We did a family lunch after Surf Contest out at steamers. I tried the stroganoff with chicken, wonderful flavor the way. Tomato sauce and the coconut milk one together. Definitely a carb load... Maybe I should head to the gym. Also I had a passion fruit smoothie wow extremely passionate. Friendly service very efficient, great teamwork!

Great Easter Sunday experience. Assuming the place was uncommon barren because of the holiday. Three egg omelet was great. Cost $12 and left me full. Small place, close tables, family-friendly. Id like to try some of their fancy shakes next time Im back in town. Would recommend.

I love this restaurant for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I have explored the restaurant over the course of a couple years and my absolute favorite is the Banana Pancakes and Feijoada Completa. Im allergic to eggs, but if you arent and love eggs, they have amazing recipes and plates for you to try! Their coffee is freakin amazing, and the staff are so welcoming and vibe beautifully with everyone. Another favorite restaurant!

Great food and great service. The smoothies and juices are amazing. It doesnt have a lot of seating so the wait times can get long but they do take out so we usually just order online and pick it up.

Excellent customer service. Hostess and server were very nice. Food came out in a timely fashion. We tried traditional Brazilian plates. The food is not bad but it did not measure up to the expectations. The coffee is very bad.

Nice variety on the menu. You can play it safe with general dishes like omelettes, or just get Gallo Pinto (which is a great choice). Parking is sparser than is usual for Santa Cruz, but if you can find a spot its worth it.

This place is awesome. Normally there is a huge wait because it is so good, but we slipped in for breakfast with no wait on a late Monday morning.I had the beef a cavalo and an avocado shake. Both were excellent and the house coffee was great too. I look forward to coming back again and trying other items from their menu.

Long waits on the busy days, but worth it. They gave excellent service and food came out fast and perfect. Large portions, presented well and tasting great. Try the house hot sauce, it is spicy.

This place is by far the worst breakfast place i have been to. My husband and I got omlette plates. The eggs were burnt, the potatoes were flavorless, the fruit tasted very old almost gone bad. My poor husband felt sick afterwards. Also, Be ready to sit shoulder to shoulder indoors.

Ive lived in Santa Cruz for 20+ years and this is the best food in town for the price! I havent had a single thing here that hasnt knocked my socks off, and just about everything on the menu is under $15. Great service, great atmosphere, amazing food. Parking can be a little tough but there is lots of two hour spots on the streets in either side of the cafe.

Awesome food and a very colorful ambience. Great place for breakfast or brunch. The severs are also quite friendly. I hadn’t quite tried a lot of Brazilian food until now. While most dishes here are great, I particularly liked the Polenta. It’s such a simple dish but oh so delicious.

I usually drive 45 miles to eat here. Today I was disappointed by the service. The staff seemed to be more concerned with the larger parties (Big Tip) ...I was eating solo and after waiting 10 minutes I asked for assistance. In addition the tilapia was dry and the salad did not have many palm hearts. I will no longer make an extra trip to eat here.
