This has been one of my favorite places to eat at when on vacation in California & I am not vegan I just enjoy eating clean. My friend and I visited this place twice. The food was good, servers were welcoming and atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed eating healthy and trying new dishes w/o meat. Will be back someday.

Came here to over indulge on my birthday. The food was great. The atmosphere felt a little cold because its winter but Im sure a place like that would feel great in the hot weather. We got some desserts to go so we could take the party back on the road to the next place. Decent service.

Everything is delicious! We are not vegans but we enjoyed this place a lot. The menu is extensive and theres something for everyone. The calamari is excellent as were the chilaquiles. Our server Javier was lovely. Sitting out in the terrace was great. Good overhead heaters to keep everyone nice and warm

We’re vegans and we usually come here on sundays, however we came this past Sunday 8/5/23 and the food came 40 minutes after we ordered it, we got the chikin & waffles (everything came after 40 minutes of waiting after ordering), the mushroom were rubbery and hard to bite. Everyone else got their food while we were just sitting there. I didn’t complain cause my husband didn’t let me. I think this is the last time we’ll be coming and I will not recommend it anymore… so sad

Incredibly tasty, whole food, unique flavors and service. The question of the day is “what moves your heart?” Loved how many dogs were there. 🥰 I got the pumpkin spiced latte with their house made almond milk and the roasted butternut & radicchio bruschetta… both TO DIE FOR. The toast was loaded with toppings. Hearty but light at the same time. Wish I could make it at home!

Exceptional service every time, great gluten free and vegan options that are always delicious and the atmosphere can cure any LAX stress I have just experienced LOL. It cannot get more L.A. than café Gratitude, can it? Many people agree on that label, although from different perspectives. On the one hand, CG offers a great variety of food. Pretty expensive food, but it’s still good. On the other hand, the service is terrible. The staff seems to be annoyed all the time and aren’t really friendly. One guy spilled my espresso all over the table and my legs. And didn’t even apologized nor offered a coffee for free. Really bad experience. But that’s L.A., isn’t it?

The whole experience was amazing. From ambiance to service to the best vegan food I have ever had. We had the Hawaiian pizza which had a perfect crisp and flavor. For dessert we had the best vegan pie ever: key lime pie, and the cookie with pistachio ice cream. You won’t be disappointed

As I explored the streets of Venice I witnessed all kinds of madness. On my journey, I asked a local security guard where I could get a good burger. As a quite successful joke, he recommended this vegan spot.There were no burgers.However, we enjoyed a good smoothie and some awesome pizza.The staff were kind and patient, and the food was lovely. I’m not a vegan, but I imagine when I’m old and wealthy I’ll enjoy the conversion.No guilt, no worries, just enjoyment. 5 star experience.

This is hands down one of the best vegan restaurants I have been to in the US.Their menu was very well designed and the food was fantastic. Service was very quick and attentive. I had ordered a latte and requested for it to be extra-hot and when it came it wasn’t as hot as I expected. Our server immediately went back and got me one more cup just the way I like it. Thank you so much !We ordered a vegan quiche, and a tofu scramble wrap and a smoothie. We were full to the brim but didn’t feel heavy or bloated. In fact, we were hungry in a couple of hours which is rarely the case when I’m so full after a meal. That really shows that the stuff going into the food isn’t greasy and stuffy.There were 2 others in our party and they had a chilaquiles and a rice bowl.Overall, definitely check out the place when you’re in LA.

Loaded Nachos were my fave!Awesome plant-based cool vibes cafe in Venice. Great service, great food and lots of options. We ordered the nachos and shared a crunchwrap and I felt totally satisfied and full.Opted for a sweet treat and ordered the cookie and ice cream but I wasnt blown away with the cookie skillet and would probably not order that one again.Overall, great spot. Would definitely come again if in the area.

They have a lot to offer on their menu. Its good food and odd lattes. I didnt like my latte I ordered, it was too earthy. However the gf loved it, it was good but not for me. The roasted strawberry was a very interesting touch. Good food overall but smaller portions. Better for lite fair. I would go back, but wouldnt necessarily go to far out of my way to go here. Mainly because its not very filling.

Cafe Gratitude has a very diverse plant based menu, we were here for breakfast. Everything from smashed red potatoes, avocado toast, to cast iron chickpea quiche were delicious. The combinations were well thought through, full of flavor, texture and presented in a very attractive way.My personal favorite was the French Toast & Avocado Toast. Service was top notch. The phone ordering & paying without servers is a little annoying, but understood considering the times. The food here is so good and consistently so! The breakfast quiche, matcha latte with homemade hemp milk, and açaí bowl were all SO good! My son also devoured the kids pancakes. Can’t wait to brunch here again.

Love this place. The first time I came here, I had the I am Loving entree with wild rice, yams, fried brussel sprouts and guacamole. It’s a large portion and I couldn’t finish it. I came here again for lunch and had the I am Liberated (raw kelp noodle bowl with a side of mushroom carnitas) and really enjoyed it, loved the addition of arugula too! Also had the Yo Soy Fuerte wrap me omg it was amazing, really happy our server recommended it! It made me think of a crunch wrap supreme but better. The desserts are excellent too, I suggest the almond butter square and the walnut chocolate chunk cookie. Great service too!

Food is good. Tonic latte was a bit too sweet.Service is not consistent even though the restaurant was not busy. Waiter did not come to check in on mh at a regular cadence to ensure I was enjoying my meal.There are a lot of flies in the restaurant. They were frequently landing on my food or the edge of my drink.

I would’ve thought their QR Code system was new based on how poorly it worked, but it seems to have been around a while.We sat at our table (party of 4) and got no instructions on the system. 3 of us had phones. I saw some real menus by the front, so nabbed those as I have a really hard time navigating the menu through my phone because I can’t scan through it the same way. My older parents chose the same route.We saw a wait staff once after being seated, and he was able to answer some allergy questions. From then on, staff was hard to come by. Our waters went dry, food never came. We noticed the large party beside us get their food. So we hunted down a staff member to check in on our order.Our food finally came out, in dribbles. One entree. Then another. Apps came out after entrees. Some food was cold.We were told we should have ordered everything on one phone. (Not intuitive since we were all looking at different phones - why should one of us take everyone’s order?) But that would not have seemed to matter since apps were delivered after entrees.While waiting, we had waiters come by three times with other people’s meals. Pizza? Nope, not ours, etc. I told them to leave it though because we were hungry (they didn’t, however turns out someone else got one of our meals which caused an extra delay to our table. We found out by asking another table which had only one person eating - turns out it was our dish as they hadn’t even ordered it.)Clearly there is a huge struggle with their ordering system. We won’t come back unless we can order through a human. It was just too frustrating and lengthy a process. I desperately wanted to go into the kitchen myself (I did source menus, water refills, and answers to menu questions on my own so felt like I was already hired wait staff.)The food was delicious (except for what was cold.) But at these prices, it’s just not worth the trouble.Sadly, the cafe only seems to respond to positive reviews, but I hope this is read at least and something can be internalized to help improve their process. I’ve been a fan for decades, and love the food, values, etc.I hope the staff is paid fair wages, as they were all lovely (although hard to hunt down.) It was uncomfortable having to leave a tip when placing the order, since there had not yet been any service provided.(Parking was found easily on the street.)

We decided to go here for my daughters Birthday too have brunch. Everything we ordered was good...the Nachos for $16.75 didnt have hardly any toppings, I had to ask for more black beans. My cocktail was good I ordered the Sangria, I felt cheated on my drink because my glass was half full for $12.00 and its already a small glass. It was very hot inside, if there was air conditioning we couldnt appreciate it because all the doors were open. And not to mention the Flies... they were flying all over and around our Food, I just couldnt enjoy it because I spent a lot of time watching my food so a Fly wouldnt land on it, I felt like I couldnt relax because of the flies... $65.00 and I couldnt enjoy my food!

First time here the vibe was peaceful which is exactly what I came for. I had the Indian curry grain bowl and it was so good bright and flavorful. It hit all the right notes. They Do Not Have AC. It was sweltering so that was a big turn off. Unfortunate! I really wanted to like this place.TBH I would have given them more stars bc the food wasn’t bad, but the staff was a bit uncoordinated. We waited about 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order. The place wasn’t even full, so I’m not sure if they have a staffing problem? Our waiter also changed twice which was strange. We didn’t get refills on our waters and everyone was pretty hangry by the time the food arrived (which took a while)Overall? I love this place. It really makes you way more conscious about eating. It offers a great variety of vegan dishes. Every item on the menu has its own inspiring name. I tasted a couple of different dishes and they were all delicious and tasted wholesome. It also gives you a good feel afterwards instead of the typical stuffed feeling after eating out. The cheesecake are tasting awesome, but are relatively pricy. The staff is super friendly and down to earth. But, the only thing that made me feel that it is maybe not as jolly as it seems is the fact that the busser had no idea about the food and said he never tasted it. The restaurant should give every ranking level of staff the opportunity to taste their nutritious food. It makes me think a little about their ethics.

This was my first time going. My daughter is vegan and brought me here. The food was beyond great. Our waiter and the atmosphere was just wonderful. I will definitely be returning. The food and drinks are really good. The Nachos were probably the best Nachos I have ever had. Worth every penny.

This is my place of choice to take people visiting in the Venice area. No complaints so far. Its a vegan restaurant with a broad menu. Whatever type of food you are looking for - Mexican, Italian, American, etc. - there should be something for you on the menu. They also have drinks and desserts.Food tastes good. Prices are comparable to similar sit-down establishments. Service is standard.Not much else for me to say. I enjoy it and will keep bringing people.

I had the burger and it was just okay. I asked to sub the brioche bun with the baguette bun from another sandwich on the menu, which they did, but charge $5 for, which is kind of ridiculous, I think. In general, this place seems overpriced to me, more pretentious than actually fancy.

Pretty solid for a chain restaurant. Menu was a little too expansive for my liking (not interested in probably 80% of the menu) but I ordered the chickpea tuna sandwich, fiance had the falafel plate, both were good. If you didnt tell me it was vegetarian I probably wouldnt have known (so a safe bet to avoid eyerolls from non-vegetarian friends being taken to a vegetarian spot haha).Staff was very nice, the positive affirmation food names were pretty ridiculous to me but someone must like it! TLDR; Staff was fantastic!! Food was delicious. Overall experience was disappointing. Cost felt high, especially due to our meh experience.We arrived and chose to eat in the outdoor area to minimize potential COVID exposure since we were embarking on air travel the next morning. We chose a table and began the process of ordering with the QR code mobile system. There was no guidance or indication on the correct process for this so with four people at the table getting 3 separate checks it seemed reasonable for us to make our own orders from our own phones.Shortly after ordering another party arrived and sat right next to us so we found the host and asked if we could slide down one table to increase our distance. He kindly said of course and we slid down one table. Shortly after that (unbeknownst to us) my nachos app was delivered to the party that had just seated. That party started getting a bit loud for us, and since we didn’t have any food yet we decided to slide further away. I asked the hostess again if this would be okay letting him know that we had already ordered and again he kindly said that could be fine and accompanied me to where we were moving so he could make adjustments.Shortly after that one of our party’s entrées had an attempted delivery to the larger party we moved away from, I saw this and motioned to the server and let him know that we had moved. When it arrived at our table we were surprised to see that it wasn’t the nachos order and instead was just one of our party’s entrées. I mentioned my nachos to the server and he said he’d check.A bit later the entrées ordered together for two others in our party arrived. I went up to find the original host to see if he could check that our table number was or could be updated. I did not find him but checked with another person behind the counter and they said they’d take care of it. A while after this my entrée arrived. This is where the one flaw with our meals happened, the fries were just a step warmer than cold and the burger was also cool.Still no nachos and my drink was also not delivered with my meal. I had to find a server again to ask about my drink.The nachos arrived.My drink arrived.We had a similar albeit easier experience getting our deserts.Conclusion: I know what you may be thinking, that our shifting of tables was obviously responsible for all of our issues. I agree that this was likely the trigger that instigated most of the issues other than the original order of nachos being delivered to the wrong table when we were still right there and the table that should have got them was the empty table between us and the larger party.But…This experience exposes flaws in the order from mobile with minimal server assistance.In a traditional scenario we would have had a server assigned to us that would have know of our moves and followed along with us.We would have had someone check in on us, see if there was anything they could help with or ask how our meals were. This never happened so we were forced to go locate someone for help with our missing orders and I ended up eating cold fries and burger with no thought of enduring the process of trying to correct the situation.The other issue is pre-payment, including tip.The staff and effort toward service within the system was great, other than never being checked on we were very happy with the staff and service. The food was great too, other than my cold meal, everyone else loved their meals and mine was yummy albeit cold. Other than the fries, those are never good cold.Had I not already ordered and paid for the nachos I definitely would have canceled them once entree’s started arriving. The tip thing is tricky, because the food and service was great and we shouldn’t be subjecting servers to whims of an array of customers and moods to get a living wage. Asking for it ahead of time may cause other diners to tip cautiously without having yet received service.Thanks for the great service and food. I hope this review is helpful.

I love the premise of and belief behind this community eatery. Healthy, organic, non-gmo, plant based food has a special place in my heart and there are not enough options in this world that do that right. I ordered for delivery and all items I received were so bland and tasteless, I had to season them on my own. The artichoke risotto bowl was so bland and did not have the pesto on top like the photos. For one of the other bowls, the black rice was just raw and so hard to chew, I could not even swallow it. Also, the brussels sprouts were so oily and fried, it was extremely unappetizing.The tempeh order was also so dry. Really poor experience. Not sure if I would give it another chance after this. Been to Cafe Gratitude in Venice numerous times. Had the I am Worthy juice drink with freshly juiced apple, celery, kale, beet and ginger juice. Instead of using a juicer which breaks up and mashes, Cafe Gratitude uses a special juice press which doesnt break up the heat-sensitive vitamins and anti-oxidants (unlike most juicer machines).Of the savory dishes, I like the ”I AM ELATED raw enchiladas. During my 1st visit, the raw enchiladas were filled with spicy corn, mango and came with red pepper sunflower seed pate, raw cacao mole, and cashew queso fresco on live spinach flax tortillas served with Mexican coleslaw. For another visit, the raw enchilada was filled with seasoned raw mushrooms instead of the corn and mango filling. Still raw yumminess.  I went to Cafe Gratitude in San Francisco a lot (before they eventually closed) and I do miss a few things which they dont seem to offer on a regular basis such as I am Bliss raw chocolate hazelnut mousse torte (the richness comes from raw hazelnut milk, coconut butter and raw cacao and cashew -- a godsend for someone like me whos lactose intolerant). KUDOS to Cafe Gratitude for offering the raw Flaxseed chips and Buckwheat crackers -- best Ive ever come across in either a restaurant or a natural foods store.  PRICING IS VERY REASONABLE considering the ultra freshness of ingredients and labor intensive preparation. Kitchen preparation and execution isnt that far off from regular dining establishments; and they pay attention to visual details when it comes to plating. Also, this restaurant doesnt adhere to the no-substitutions policy-- theyre pretty humble and want to make the customer happy. One time, I ordered the I AM LOCAL winter greens salad with roasted beets, maple toasted walnuts, diced apple and red onion tossed in a fig balsamic vinaigrette. At my request, they served the cashew mozzarella on the vegan flaxseed crackers instead of wheat bread crostini (Im allergic to wheat and gluten).  Some raw vegan purists complain that Cafe Gratitude isnt real raw vegan because they offer cooked items as well, but Id rather take Cafe Gratitudes moderate approach unlike another place where they insisted I start my meal with dessert first.  RAW DESSERTS - Be sure to try their RAW CHEESECAKES, PIES and TIRAMISU. Im lactose intolerant and I had just about given up on ever having a creamy dessert without stomach upset (even Lactaid enzymes dont help me). After having Cafe Gratitudes raw desserts, I actually dont miss dairy desserts. If you want to gild the lily, go A LA MODE with their CASHEW COCONUT VANILLA ICE CREAM when you try their cakes and pies.  Tip for those with sensitive ears: Sit in outside patio area because its hella noisy in the restaurant.

I’ve been a regular at cafe gratitude for 2 years now so I regret writing this, but my experiences have just gotten worse. I understand that labor shortages and supply increases are a problem for all, but after spending $110 on dinner I still expect better than this.We put in our order online at 630 and were told it’d be ready in 20 minutes. We show up 20 minutes later and it’s not ready and we’re told it’ll be ready in “5, 10 or 20 minutes”. Seriously? We then come back 10 minutes later, still not ready. 10 minutes later they try to give us our order with only 2/5 items. Then 10 minutes later again (it’s now been an hour since we ordered), they try to give us order with only 4/5 items. We explained we’re concerned that some items were getting cold and the staff responded with “oh, it won’t be cold”. We ordered soup, so definitely not true.After an hour of waiting, we were finally given all of our food with barely an apology and no offer to compensate us for waiting and being given cold food. Even a coupon or some free desserts would’ve been nice. Instead we just left with our cold, soggy food.On top of their price increases and portions that just keep getting smaller, I just can’t justify coming here and paying over $20/person for dinner.We don’t expect perfection when times are difficult for restaurants but they at least need to try.

Loved the concept of self-affirmations at this restaurant. Its very cute but slightly confusing when receiving our entrees. Its fun to order via affirmation but none of us remembered what we ordered based on affirmation alone. Perhaps servers could say I am Mucho - the Mexican bowl instead so your diners have some recollection to what they ordered.Food was alright for a vegan place. Some dishes were a hit and some were a miss, according to my table.

Your first sign of caution should be when the top most mentioned word in reviews is that they love the concept rather than love the food. The I Am Enthusiastic (Chicken fried mushroom sandwich) was not crispy at all, the mushroom was tough to chew through. Id pay maybe $8 for what it was, not $18. The fries were good but nothing outstanding. Theres way better vegan places.

Cafe Gratitude is my favorite place to go no matter what is the occasion. My daughter and husband took me to the Venice location for a lovely Mothers day lunch. Decent and tasty vegan food options but the service was really poor/slow especially considering that it wasn’t busy. We weren’t offered refills and it took over 30 minutes to get the check. Maybe order pickup if you don’t want an unnecessary wait.

The chicken waffle was good, the faux chicken tasted more or less like the real thing and it was delicious.The dish as a whole was a bit on the dry side. The sweet butter accompaniment was nice but i always struggle with combining sweet and savoury so it didn’t really work with the chicken as much as it did the waffle.But yeah, excellent flavours.

I had the soy fuerte or something like that. It was delicious and crunchy (it has nachos inside). The mystical chocolate was also great. I asked them to put a little less mix so it wouldnt be too sweet and it was perfect! They check vaccine cards if to want to seat inside.

As a vegan I want to like this place but it is just not good. Tonight was the third time I’ve been and it was the final straw. I got the I am devoted bowl and it was DRENCHED in sauce and the smoked tofu (which was absurdly $6 extra) was disgusting I could not eat any of it. I usually don’t like to waste food but I could not stand to eat it. I have been before for breakfast and the coffee was really bad so that should tell you a lot. Also the service has been mediocre every time.

Love love this place! Their I am Glorious wrap is amaaaazingly delicious, as well as their I am enthusiastic sandwich! I love it is so much that I am not able to try anything else each time I go there. As far as their smoothies, my friend recommended Stellar and it’s super delicious. For desert, I tried once their cinnamon bun and it was literally melting in my mouth 😄 I hope everyone loves it as much as I do. Everyone is super friendly there!

One of my favorite places to eat on this planet! Its hard to find healthy vegan food in any city, but its even more difficult to find gluten free food! Everything tastes so amazing here so order anything on the menu and it will be awesome! The gluten free, vegan key lime cheesecake is heavenly! I also love the gluten free, vegan pesto pasta - seasonally on the menu. Inside or outside, the atmosphere is clean, friendly, and nicely decorated with modern decor.

Was visiting SM and decided to try Cafe Gratitude – so glad I did! They have a wonderful concept and you can feel the positive/happy energy they have been built on through their staff - especially a young gentleman name Leo, who was one of the best servers Ive ever had. The food was delicious and they do a really good job showcasing that you dont need to eat boring food to be on a plant based diet. Definitely a must try...and getting a table outside during one of the many beautiful sunny CA days would be the cherry on top :)

Friends took us to this one yesterday. Sat outside first, a bit chilly, then inside. Nice, but no atmosphere I would travel for. My wife loved her lentil soup and the nachos. I had the burger, which I loved. After my stroke last year, fries are a treat I am only supposed to have now and then - and then they better be good. Sadly, these were not. They were soggy. I did not eat them, and the waiter did not care.Then: the desert was excellent. All in all, it was simply not good enough to go again, let alone take a detour (mandatory with me to get five stars).A little more attention to detail in food and service, and I might go back.

I keep trying this place in Hollywood a few times and now santa monica and its not very good. The gluten free buger bun literally taste like cardboard. And Ive had vegan gluten free buns before at other places that were pretty good for being gluten free. I was told the salad would have cherry tomatoes on the little side salad and it didnt just mixed green lettuce which is so cheap. And I love trying vegan restaurants as sun cafe in Hollywood/ studio city is so good

Definitely not a 5 star experience as you see with all the reviews here. The service doesnt really exist because no one asked us if we enjoyed the food or if everything was ok with the food.I understand why they made the menu paperless however that doesnt mean service doesnt have to exist at all. Im being generous with the 3 stars honestly. Me and a friend were here last weekend for lunch. The food wasnt that hot and the drink I ordered wasnt good and the wait time was pretty long.I ordered my drink with oat milk and they served it in the smallest glass ever so the drink was gloopy and thick to drink. I asked for a side order of the milk and it was awful overly sweet and tasted cheap which surprised me I expected them to have some decent plant milks since they are a vegan joint! I do like their outdoor seating area. I like their concept however what they are currently offering is not up to standard for the price point.

Best vegan food I have ever had! Great value for what you get. The flavors are delicious and each sauce and dressing is made from scratch and has an original flavor including their tasty ketchup. I had the Caesar wrap and it was just perfect. A generous portion and quite satisfying. I did take out but the restaurant was cute and welcoming, definitely a great place to dine in.

I went with too high expectations :(I think it’s great for people who like to have sweet dishes for their breakfast/brunch like I do, but for example my boyfriend had a hard time deciding what to order and in the end he didn’t love the food.I had a smoothie bowl which I absolutely loved because 1)the granola was on the bottom rather than the top 2)the smoothie was less liquid that other places! 3) I felt the natural ingredients 😍The restaurant, regrettably, is not a lovely ambience in my opinion, so I don’t enjoy that much.Anyway, I think you should go and give it a try!

Wonderful vegan food although a bit pricey. I took my dubious non vegan son who polished everything off, apart from some pickles and he loved it all. The menu is very varied and offers lots of choice. There is also a take away counter that still makes the food freshly for you. The restaurant, menu and staff encourage a peaceful and loving vibe which is difficult to describe but which is lovely to experience. We were very impressed.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. The space itself was bright, open and welcoming. It was very busy but still had a cozy feel to it. The menu had many options that would appeal to everyone, even those that arent vegan. I ordered the Eclectic buffalo cauliflower bites as an appetizer to share and they were delicious. As my main course, I ordered the delicious pasta dish pictured below (I looked on the menu but cannot find the name). When Im back in LA Ill definitely visit again!

We love Cafe Grat! The food is always solid and the staff are personable. They had switched to a mobile site ordering system when we visited in September 2021, which meant we couldnt order using affirmations, but it may be an understandable way of responding to the worker shortage. It went fine.
