California Pizza Kitchen at River Walk in Bakersfield

We each ordered our own pizza except one had Shrimp Scampi.. one pizza was big enough for 2-3 people. We all liked our choices. The service was good and the atmosphere was too.

We ordered our food through the California Pizza Kitchen website and opted for the delivery option as it was farther than we wanted to drive at night. The delivery service was through Uber. We were watching the progress of the driver and found that the time kept going up on the delivery. We had waited 45 mins after the driver had picked up the food and then proceeded to call California Pizza Kitchen back regarding our order to see if they could help. We spoke with Kevin the Manager and let them know the situation and he stated that Uber should only be picking up 1 order from them directly and delivering it to their customers so the food would be hot. We said we had already been waiting for over an hour and we were unable to contact the Uber driver as his phone was disconnected. Kevin then proceeded to offer to make us a fresh new order and have one of his employees personally deliver our food for the inconvenience of the Uber driver. Anna was very polite and professional and delivered our food in a timely manner. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome of the service and will definitely be returning in the near future. This is what customer service is all about!

Late post but 5 months ago I was dining here. The food is good. The waitress with the red hair who served me is somewhat rude. I didnt catch her name. She doesnt smile or anything. She slammed a bowl of my salad dressing when I asked for it. Thats not how to treat a customer. She doesnt even write my order on a paper. I dont know whats wrong with her. It looks like she doesnt like her job or something. CPK, you need to hire a friendly nice employee not an employee like her. Im sorry.

The few times I have came here it has been a pretty nice experience, but the most recent time I have came here the service felt rushed. When I ordered the server didn’t ask how I wanted my burger cooked and I was given a burger that was red in the middle and I guess cooked raw. When we were done eating we were gonna get dessert but the server never asked if we were interested instead she asked if we wanted the check.

The food was good, the service at our table was good but the atmosphere was horrible. We went at lunchtime during the week and in the corner of the restaurant was a group of women being extremely loud and obnoxious. It went on throughout our entire lunch, very annoying. Other than that it was fine!

Bread was not as fresh as usual 😒, cucumber reviver was missing cucumber.

I came in here not knowing what it was and it surprised me. I thought it was a small, kind of subway type of place, and it felt more like a dennys. The employees were really nice and the food was really good. I, however, dont feel like the pizzas were worth as much as i paid for. Great place for the most part.

Disgusting!!! Im so disappointed because they have great food! Delicious salads and pizza.MY DAUGHTER HAD A ROACH ON HER SALAD!!On July 27th, 2023, I took my family to dine in. The manager said it must be a little bug from the mixed salads. No! I know how a roach looks! I even took a picture and googled it! I have pictures but dont see an option to share images.🤢

Friday night, about 7 pm, no wait to get in or for a table, so that was nice. The waiter was nice, tho not that attentive. We got our drinks and were finally able to order some appetizers, which came quickly. We had the avocado egg rolls and the potstickers. Both were good. The egg rolls had a light crispy batter and came with 2 dipping sauces. One was ranch, and the other, perhaps, a spicy ranch.The potstickers had good flavor, especially the sauce in which they were sat.All the food ordered was fair. We had orders of mushroom, carne asada, and vegetarian pizzas. Had the choice of thin crust or regular. Im glad I went with regular as it was thin enough. Cant imagine what the thin crust would have been like. A big cracker, perhaps? The pizzas were not that spectacular. Ive had ones with more flavor from Lil Ceasers. The carne asada on mine was tender, and the green salsa dip that came with it was good. Other than that, it was really unremarkable.Other orders were pastas and burgers. Kung Pao spaghetti, a Bolognese, and a Garlic Cream fettuccine. The burgers looked absolutely fantastic. Im not sure which ones they got, but Ill explore that part of the menu if I come back for sure!We didnt have room for dessert, but they sure looked tempting. Overall, it was a standard experience. I wouldnt go back for pizza, but I might for their burgers.
