California Pizza Kitchen at San Mateo in San Mateo

On this day we came in after lunch and it was empty. We had to wait for more than 7 mins to get seated even though there were a few employees walking around. That was NOT the problem, it was the service. The wait times were sooo long I could not get a refill of my water. The waiter took more than 15 mins to come back and take our order. After giving us our food, she never came back until I asked someone else for help. What kind of service is this? We have been here, previously, many times and it was not this bad. If the restaurant is full then I understand, however, that was NOT the case on this day. I think they recently changed owners or managers ?? Theyve also taken some items off the menu.I would avoid this place! Eat at Shake Shack or Pinstripes.

At the mall and popped into CPK. Met the manager whos name is also mine but spelled with a q instead of a k. Ezekiel. Ordered the guacamole and blue corn chips, the infamous Thai chicken pizza and a half a Carne Asada and Chipotle chicken pizza. The wife had a draft ipa and I tried the happy hour whiskey smash x 2 happy hour half price hahaha. The guacamole was full chunks not that green paste out of a bag. Tasted great mixed with white corn and the coupled with the blue corn tortilla chips. The pizzas were rich in flavor. My favorite was the Carne Asada. I say stop by Costco pickup some gift cards and save 25 bucks and check it out especially during happy hour.

I am dinning at cpk often so i visited the the cpk july 8 bread was cold and looks its was used beforei ordered CHICKEN PICCATA food served in 34 minutes chicken was rough and smelly so then i ordered KUNG PAO SPAGHETTI instead this time food come half burned food i told server Javier he said that good chef went to home i was disappointed

The pre meal bread is not heated. Not my favorite.We love pineapple, so we add pineapple on our original BBQ chicken pizza. It taste sweet and sour. Recommended.We order the white corn guacamole + chip. The guacamole taste fresh. I think it has cucumbers on it. But I only love to eat the purple chip with it cause the purple one taste better.The pasta is not very creamy. It is too green. The belt peppers were cut in propose to make them similar to the pasta. Maybe the chef don’t like customers too picky on food, haha…For the drinks, I recommended the cucumber reviver.

Loved the kung pao pasta. Friendly service and nice family atmosphere.

Very conveniently located on the ground floor of Hillsdale Mall. We went for lunch and there were no lines and the host gave us a nice booth. The service is friendly and fast but not rushed. The salad was fresh and crisp. The veg sandwich tasted OK … could have used some jalapeños!! The fingerling roasted potatoes were delish. It was a pleasant experience and the food was filling. This is a nice spot for a casual meal. Their pizza oven is wood fired and although we did not try any pizza I think their pizzas have to be awesome!

The restaurant seemed short staffed and had to wait a few minutes for the host/hostess to even notice us and other groups behind us. Waited for the table for another few minutes and after that the service, food, and atmosphere was on point.

I come here often and it is a hit or miss depending on who is cooking. Lately. The garlic fettuchini alfredo has been coming out brown…. They asked if i wanted to send it back but i just ate it because i was so hungry. It tasted burnt and like beef stroganoff.****update****Im changing my review because this location has improved so much! I probably go here every other week and the food has been really good! Fast and great service. The hostess’s here are very attentive and helpful. The food here is what you would expect for a CPK restaurant.

This CPK is located inside Hillsdale Mall and has a capacity to seat around 50 people.The staff is helpful and they have a very helpful guide on their menu that leads you to their website in case you have food preferences (allergies/ vegan/ gluten free, etc.).We ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, the California Veggie Pizza, and 2 drinks: Peach Lemonade & Cucumber Reviver.The food was good quality & tasted good, although the portions were small for the price.This is an easy place to recommend to someone looking for fresh Italian(ish) fair for lunch/ dinner.Bonus: They also serve free bread as a part of the meal which is always great to see.
