California Pizza Kitchen at The Shops on El Paseo in Palm Desert

Chicken bite is so-so. Others are excellent! Overall is good except they did not give us plates until they served the last 2 dishes.

This place is hit and miss on the pace of service but the food is consistent with flavor and taste. They have a fairly good variety of both food and drinks. They offer both bar seating with TVs and dinning room which also has 1-2 TVs as well. The bathrooms consistently seem like they need to be cleaned and are quite small. Its a nice location on El Paseo and walkable to many stores.

Great restaurant with great staff. We tried several of appetizers and entrees and we were not disappointed. California Club pizza was delicious.Restaurant is busy and you have a nice view over the restaurant and through the huge windows.

We were here at 1:30 pm on 11/19/23for lunch with my girlfriend and they gave us horrible service and the food was disgusting. Place wasnt even busy but you can tell it was so disorganized. Took 15 minutes from the time we sat down in the bar area at a high top table before someone came to us to ask us for a drink. Ordered everything one shot drinks and food. First the drink came out espresso martini it had a small fly or mosquito floating on top with the coffee beans. Got sent back for a sprite took took 10 minutes for server to bring sprite. Next the food we ordered a Caesar salad with no chicken extra dressing on the side and vegetarian pizza with goat cheese. Food came out together. The salad had chicken when we didnt order it with chicken and told him from beginning we dont want chicken on salad please. Then pizza came out it was hard, cold and no goat cheese on top when we ordered with goat cheese. Told waiter there is no goat cheese on top of pizza said it was on the ticket he turned in maybe they forgot to put it on top. He said he would get us on the side goat cheese we said no its ok but we were upset and really didnt want to eat. We did hear many people around us complaining about the service and the food. We asked for the check left most of the plates full and told each other never here again.Even if you’re short staffed there is no excuse for not presenting good food and service. Cant give that kind of presentation to a paying customer. It would be easier for everyone employees and customers to close up shop for the day and start fresh the next day if having issues with employees and service. No excuses from management. If there are any managers or supervisors left around.

The place is nice and its located in a very nice and beautiful area in el Paseo.The first issue started with the service we arrived around 5 pm for dinner, they must be super short staffed and they prioritize online orders rather than the people at the restaurant it took 25 minutes to take our order, then another hour for the first plates to arrive. We were with our grandma and she is an elderly person.... The cherry on top is that they serve her cold zucchini shrimp dish last !!! I would never ... Ever go back to any California kitchen restaurant The service is horrible and the food is just not worth the wait, besides for the first time ever in the Coachella valley I felt mistreated for being a brown latino, the personnel were nice but they let out table unattended to prioritize older white American folks. Im really sorry but this is the first place Ive ever experienced such horrible customer service. Be aware if you are brown latino yure not gonna be welcomed here.

You know the pizza is going to be good at CPK, so order the pizza. They were short staffed, so that is why the 3. Our server was Izzy and he was great, just he had too much to do so it did take some time for somethings.

The service is very poor. It will take 45 min at the minimum before you order get serve. Just a simple bottle of beer, they can’t serve on time and I took numerous follow up before the beer got served.

I typically do not like chain restaurants but my sister had points with CPK so we went. I got the dumplings appetizer which is super yummy. All the other food and pizza is your average chain menu status. The service however was amazing!!! I wish I remember our servers name to give her love. It makes such a huge difference when you have an awesome server. I happily left her a huge tip and my husband and I even talked about how great the service was walking to the car. Been a while since we experienced that.

Im a big fan of this chain. From food to service this restaurant delivers every time. This location is nice (aside from the people who sat next to us and thought they had the restaurant all to themselves), clean with good atmosphere. Typically CPKs are very bright, but this location had the lights turned down nicely for late dinner. Again, the service was great, the server was very engaging and helpful and open to offer recommendations (which I always like to ask for). The food was as good as always, the chicken guac rolls are great!!! and pizza is always done perfectly. Im always amazed by the pizza guys who run the pizza station, these guys make this Their Job, and im glad they are out in front of the public. Really good experience and good food, drinks, service and value.Special thanks to Mayra who was our server.

The Location is good in El Paseo Palm Desert CA. The food was delish, the server was so so, inside the restaurant for me it looks untidy, the table we set on the chair is not wipe dirty lots of crumps. The good thing food is good comfort. We had an excellent choice of food. But the service wasn’t satisfied. But its ok anyway thank you for your service to everyone still grateful for their help. Hopefully they will improve their service and make clean the chair as well thank you.
