So tasty!!! its made to order and so worth it because everything is packed with flavor 😋The cafe reminded me of cafe my mom used to make! I found this place randomly searching for coffee shops near me. It took me over 2 years to discover this place is 6 min from me, but better late than never. Previous reviews recommend ordering to go, which is definitely the best way to go. All is made fresh upon ordering, so it took at least 15 min for mine. I called around 8:20 a.m., and already they were out of Papita Rellenas. So obviously, they must be crazy good.I got (2) beef, (1) rope Viejo, and (1) guava con queso empanadas with, of course (2) Iced Cafe con Leche. Once I got home, my BF and I devoured everything. The dough is so good, and 2 were enough for me. The side sauces were very tasty, especially the red one. The iced coffee is delicious 🤌🏻. The staff and owner are so nice. Also, writing which is which on the to go box was a nice touch. I REALLY want to try the Papita Rellena, so Ill definitely be back!

The best damned Cuban coffee I’ve ever had…and then I had a Cuban sandwich.WOW.Simply incredible, fresh, and flavorful food.The staff is friendly and welcoming.I got to meet the staff. Incredible humans that make you feel like family. You can absolutely tell it’s a family run business.You’re not just buying coffee or having lunch. Super cute little Cuban restaurant! Found it online, and decided to give it a try. We went in and ordered, the lady said the wait time is 40 minutes. So we came back and got the food 1 hour later. Despite the wait, the food was soooo good, they make them scratch when you place your order. Definitely recommend to call ahead to order!

Cafe con Leche was beyond delicious but I think I should have gotten the 4 shots instead of the 2. Empanadas and Papa Rellenas are crazy good. I will be going back to try the fries and everything else on the menu. Try to order ahead of time this place gets very busy. Ill post more pictures as I try out the rest of the food.

We walked in thinking it was just a coffee shop but they have a large variety of traditional cuban food. The cheese and guava rolls are amazing. And the coffee variety was great. They truly make each dish and drink with love.

Ive heard nothing but good things about this place. Im happy to report it is all true. The food is spectacular, and the coffees are a must. The restaurant itself is very charming the stuff is super friendly. There is a little bit of a wait but it is definitely worth it. Everything is made to order. This place is fantastic! I’m Cuban from Miami whose been away from home for about 9 years now. This is by far the best authentic Cuban spot I’ve been to since leaving home. It has all the essentials, from cuban sandwiches to ropa vieja to cafe con leche. It was all delicious! The staff is also wonderful. Kiki made us feel like part of the family and was so warm. I can’t recommend this place enough!

First of all, GET THEIR COFFEE! It was worth a bit if a drive for it for sure! The staff was super nice and told us straight up front that everything is made fresh and could take some time to make. I had their Cuban sandwhich, and it was really good! Tasted fresh and would go back for. As a heads up this is NOT a dine-in place to eat. They have some seats to wait for your order and a table with two chairs outside to wait for you order. But it is still worth it to enjoy their food and coffee!

They say to call ahead but not answering phone. Only one person on front of me, they were told it would be 25min. They left. I asked how long for a Cuban sandwich, 20min… Honestly my other experience here was exactly the same and I said I would t go back. Tried again, and now I’m sure I won’t be back…

The owner who runs the show with her husband is incredibly charming and personable. I went to inquire about catering my Havana nights party. She was extreamily helpful considering I know very little about cuban food. Didnt even have to think about it..... paid and reserved my food. Ive not had my party yet but a week away. Am I nervous? Not one bit!! I trust in her completely!! By the way the small place was non stop pickup orders. That tells you everything.

Everything is made fresh to order so there is a bit of a wait, but it is worth it. First time trying Cuban food and was not disappointed at all. Plus the people here made the experience here all that much better. I was actually surprised with the yuca, especially since I didnt know what it was lol. But it went really well with those sauces that they make. My sister and I really loved it here, we would definitely return.

I was looking for a place to enjoy a great lunch. I found Calle Ocho and was immediately greeted by the owner, Denise! Her spirit was infectious immediately! I told her so and her eyes smiled way beyond the mask she was wearing! I asked her for recommendations and she let me know what was delicious! I placed a large to go order and she told me how long it would take since they make everything fresh! The staff worked so well together and it felt like I was waiting for lunch by a family whose only purpose was to make my tummy happy!The food was amazing and you can read all those other reviews for that. This review is to highlight the service which was impeccable! It was more than food, it was comfort and community and sense of being loved and cared for by those aunties who only want the best for you! Disappointed ExperienceI recently visited Calle Ocho and sadly, my experience left much to be desired. I ordered a large iced coffee and politely asked if they could add a bit more sweetener to it. Little did I know that this simple request would turn into a baffling series of interactions.Upon making my request, I was met with an unexpected response. The staff member seemed a bit taken aback, as if my request were out of the ordinary. They complied this time, but with a stern warning that this “generosity” would come at a cost in the future. I was bewildered, but thought maybe there was a misunderstanding.Not my first visit and I have ordered plenty of ice coffee prior, this was the first time it was very very strong, you didn’t taste any Leche. Don’t know if I’ll go back.

Soooo good. It would be 5 stars if the sugar in my iced coffee had been melted/ stirred/ dissolved.Beef empanada is really good. Beef had a great flavor and crust was flaky. Dough was a tiny bit sweet.Cuban sandwich was great. The ham was not a traditional southern ham flavor, thats exactly what I was hoping for. The dipping sauces send it over the top into super great. I really like my veggies, so next time Ill ask for added tomatoes or something.The hot cafe con leche is awesome. The large is 4 shots on the same sized cup as the small (2 shots). If you can drink espresso then maybe add another shot. I thought the large was plenty strong and just the right amount of sweet.Going to try this place again!

Bad customer service experience today! I asked the clerk if I can have another cup to transfer the ice from my coffee because Im driving back to Riverside and by the time I get home, the coffee would be watered down. She said the cup will cost me a dollar. My goodness, I just spent $70 and added a tip, drove all the way from Riverside and I couldnt get a free cup?! Then, I was waiting for my hot cocoa but was excited to taste the empanada. It was halfway in my mouth and she tells me they dont allow eating on the couch. RUDE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT to describe her. I think I will dispute and get a refund for my tip. Never going back here again!

The food here was soooo delicious! Inside looks like someones cute little kitchen, and the atmosphere is very unique. I wish more food places would strive for this type of vibe. Very little actually do and are able to achieve it.Again, the food was delicious, and the empanadas were so tasty. My only gripe was the cashier girl. She was too fricken pushy and impatient. It was my first time there, and she was getting all huffy and impatient with me while I was looking over the menu. So, 4 stars because of that.

I give this place a 3.5 star review. Unfortunately they do not have indoor dining. The Cuban sandwich was very underwhelming, almost like a sandwich you can find at your local bakery. The empanadas have a slight sweet taste which does bode well with the saltiness of the meat inside. The Lechon fries were very good especially for the price. 12 dollars gets you almost half a pound of fries topped with meat which falls apart in your mouth. In conclusion, I would stay away from the sandwich and appetizers and stick with the fries and coffee!

Incredible Empanadas, and an authentic Cuban Sandwich thats worth going out of your way for. Really flavorful ropa vieja, and the empanada dough has an excellent flake texture with the right amount of chew. Takeout only, but there are a few small tables to post up at if you care to eat on-site. Extremely friendly service. Highly recommended if you enjoy good, quick Cuban food at reasonable prices.

I really wanted this place to be a great find for me, but sadly it wasnt. The staff was friendly and I liked the atmosphere inside. Originally I was going to order the Cuban Sandwich, but I saw some customers eating empanadas and some other items that looked good. So I ordered the Bert Sampler. I tried one of each six items including the empanada. Im sorry to say that nothing was a standout for me. I work in the area, so maybe Ill be back for coffee and this time Ill try the sansldwich.

As someone who often travels to L.A. simply to eat Im not often left wide eyed by food. Calle Ocho is a delightful exception. Only open 10a-3p and closed sundays this is a place you HAVE to try if youre even near the I.E. friendly family staff, artisan coffee and food that could go blow for blow with any spot in L.A.

If youre in the area and want great home-like cooking and a great friendly staff, I recommend this place.I decided to eat here the day of my wedding because I knew it was going to be a long day and a lot of drinking. When I walked in, the staff were so friendly and immediately started greeting us. The restaurant is a little small for multiple people waiting for their food but the vibe of the restaurant made it feel like home.I ordered the Cuban sandwich (recommended by the staff), lechon fries (also recommended by the staff), beef empanadas (also recommended) and the coffee. THE PORTIONS WERE MASSIVE AND WAS WORTH THE PRICE.I took it back to my hotel and scarffed as much as I could down and it filled me up until dinner time. I highly recommend this restaurant and I still cant believe how friendly the staff were.

Found this little place and since I was going to run errands in this area figured I’ll try it. Friendly girl, my order consisted of a small cafe con leche, ham croquette, yuca rellena and a media noche empanada. The coffee was good, just a little too sweet for me. The portions of everything else was unexpected. The croquet was maybe two inches and thin, the empanada had one pickle, a very thin slice of deli ham and the yuca rellena Was the size of a very expensive Twinkie. The flavors did not impress me. They were just okay. Paying $22 was Not worth it. I would have had better portions going elsewhere.I’m 30 minutes away on freeway Never coming back. 👎👎👎

MUST TRY IT!!! My boyfriend and I had recently discovered this place on yelp. Since my boyfriend is Dominican I have always tried to look up Cuban/ Dominican food when he’s craving food from his homeland. We absolutely loved it !!! The garlic and cheese empanadas are our favorite. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. This is our new favorite go to spot. If you are in the area you should definitely give this spot a try!

We used Calle Ocho catering for a birthday party. We ordered lechón, arroz congri, and plantains. The food was prepared on time and so delicious! Our guests had second and third helpings. It was good that we ordered the large. We will be using them again for sure. Excellent customer service as well. A family run business that work really hard. Just found this place and it was great! Very friendly staff! I travel to Miami several times a year and this place can compete with any Cuban restaurants I’ve been to there! The café con leche is amazing. Empanadas are great (sweat glaze on the shell makes them interesting and different). Yuca Rellena and Papita Rellena were both great. We will definitely be back!

Update:Second time going here, this time with the family. Great experience! Denise was super welcoming and friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. We got:-rope vieja fries (a shredded beef that they dont always offer, so its not on the menu) Very flavorful! It was $16, but the portion size was very large and three of us happily shared it.-papa rellena. This tasted like a shepherds pie in a little ball. :) Yummy, but very small for $3. No place to sit down. Not to bad but less fair. Cuban coffee is made in a greca, not a Espreso machine. Good cup of coffee. I got a cuban sandwich, but it wasnt put in the sandwich press, which is the whole point of the sandwich. Had to wait 20 minutes for it. Not many ppl in the store but the could be filling phone take out orders.Let me down some what.Maybe this is how Californian Cuban food is. It is a lot different than the Cuban food on the east coastStaff was friendly so I would go back and give them another try. Small and cute place that is hidden away at plaza where there is mostly car repair and tire replacements going on. This place is very cute! It has a very friendly and homely vibe to it as you sit down. The food is amazing (chicken empanada) and their coffee is delicious! Warning: they only accept cash, BUT they have an ATM inside if you want/need to use it. Fortunately the food is priced so well, one stop and you’re gonna be fine! Yesterday I stopped by Calle Ocho to support this small business with the purchase of empanadas and coffee for a business meeting. Keke was the person who assisted me with my order. Keke was rude, but I chalked it up to she was having a bad day or that they may have been short staffed. After placing my large order, I asked because of COVID, can we get each flavor of the empanadas in a separate container because I work with people who have food allergies, our safety protocol and some of the executives dont eat pork. Keke further made excuses as to why they cant do thing such as print receipts, separate empanadas based on the meat inside and why they dont have basic utensils. Keke kept stating that there supply order is stuck at the port and they cant go to Smart and FInal because they were out of those same supplies. I was then told that I would be charged for each sauce that goes with the empanadas and the containers that the empanadas are supposed to come in. When I returned to pick up my order I was immediately yelled at by Keke to close the door. I took a seat because the food and coffee that was ordered wasnt ready on time. Another customer comes in shortly after me to pick up her order and Keke yells close the door which ticked off the customer. The interaction between Keke and that customer was unprofessional on Kekes part because the customer was expressing her concern about the restaurants card reader. The customer was sharing when she elected to have a receipt sent to her via email she received an additional email stating that the application will share her information with others. The customer was asking Keke to take her off that list Keke immediately blew up on the customer. It was so unprofessional that I stopped my conversation to hear what was going on. As I am waiting, another customer comes in and Keke once again yells close the door (which by this time I am thinking why wouldnt the owner get the door fixed) then Keke rudely takes her order. As I am sitting on the chair waiting for my order the cook comes from the back to show me my order where he messed up my empanadas and is trying to explain to me how I can point out to executives which empanada is which. I made the same request which was can you box the empanadas based on the meat and the cook got an attitude. Now mind you, I only wanted a total of 6 small boxes and Keke said you have to pay $1 per box. Needless to say, I wont be returning because of the poor customer service, unprofessionalism and they were full of excuses on why they cant take care of there customer.

This family owned and operated Cafe is a hidden gem that houses some of the best Cuban food around. The owners are very personable and have great customer service. I love Cuban food and have tasted many delicious Cuban sandwiches but this place has one of the best Ive ever had.The Cuban bread is grilled perfectly and is not too soggy or too hard, the pork is perfectly seasoned and soft (not chewy), and the mustard and pickle ratio was perfect. The only empanada I wasnt totally a fan of was the guava cheese. Normally, its my go to dessert at Cuban places but for some reason it just doesnt work here. Im not sure if the type of cheese was too strong and didnt blend well with the guava but whatever it was, it didnt taste too great.If youve ever been to Portos and tried their potato balls you know how amazing they taste but I was delighted to discover Portos doesnt have a corner on the potato ball market anymore. This cafe sells potato balls on par, if not better than what Portos has to offer.Try the Café con Leche, its a great blend of very strong coffee and super sweet creaminess that makes for a delicious drink.I would definitely recommend this place and I plan on coming back often to see what the daily secret menu has to offer. Soo good! I saw a post on Instagram about this place and went to check it out. So worth the drive to Rancho Cucamonga. If you are a fan of Carne asada or pork fries, you must try the Lechon Fries! You will never be the same after these. The Lechon is a flavorful shredded pork, that you must experience. The food was great. Tried the ropa vieja fries and cuban pastrami sandwich... both were delicious. The barista whipped up an awesome cafe con leche. Definitely coming back.

Food was not the great service was poor. Most important they did not have what wanted I was told to wait for an hour and half until they would obtain chicken therefore I leftHave no intentions of ever going back there.
