Definitely worth visiting.The food is not exceptionally great but it is cheap and such a classic and special Vietnamese to go spot that youll be happy you went and glad to support such a local establishment.I ordered the fried rice (perfectly executed, clean, and delicious)The chicken leg (good but far from great in its lack of lemongrass flavor which would have been amazing)Chow fun (hard pass... Greasy and far inferior to the fluffy fried rice unless you really have a hankering for some noodles to go with your main)

They have really good Vietnamese sandwiches and smoothies. I dont eat from the ready made, hot food to go table, but its not because of them, its anywhere. I just dont trust unprotected, uncovered, pre-made food. Thats just my personal preference. It looks really delicious though. But for Vietnamese sandwiches, this is hands down one of my favorite spots. Freshly made, made to order and fantastic prices! FYI, they do not have dinner service.

Another childhood spot of mines for Vietnamese sandwiches. There are arguably better options not too far from this location, but parking and safety is a huge concern at the other spot. Cam Huong, however, has at least plenty of residential parking in the streets behind. I used to order all of my potluck party trays from this eatery. Very generous portioning, fair pricing and full of flavor. I typically get their sandwiches for a quick meal along with a chicken thigh and egg roll. Theyre super quick in taking your order and making the flood. The lines may appear long at times youd be placing your order at the front before you know it. Its a no frills kind of place but thats when you know their food does all of the talking.

Went on Vietnamese New Year day, the place was packed, wait over 22mins for our noodle soup. Complaint to lady boss (Lily) all she said, we backlog nothing else, she didnt go check the kitchen and told us to wait. If I didnt have to pay upfront first, Ive would already left restaurant.

Mediocre food, dirty tables that they dont care to wipe even if there is plenty of time, and the service isnt anything to write home about -- they cant even say thank you nor smile. Pho Dac Biet consisted of super tough rare steak, beef balls and tiny pieces of tendons that were super tough. I chose this place because they had lotus salad, but that wasnt very good either. They are really inexpensive, however, so if you are on budget it may be a good spot.

Don’t let the outside or interior fool you. Humble Vietnamese take away shop with hands down the best egg rolls in the Bay Area.Banh Mis are without question a must. Solid and cheap. Interestingly enough, public consensus bbQ chicken is the fave. I was skeptical but after trying all the top hits, I totally agree.Recommendations: bbQ chicken banh mi + egg rolls + Thai iced tea. This place continues to be one of the best value banh mi places in the Bay Area. They also have other food like chow fun, fried rice, chicken leg and more. Portions continue to be fair with lots of meat in the middle. Prices have climbed a little because of inflation but that makes sense.Ordering starts in a line along the counter. Ordered BBQ chicken Bahn mi, egg roll, and teriyaki chicken skewer. Everything was tasty and seemed fresh, but I wonder about its cleanliness. Just as my food was being prepared, a woman working at the counter, and who also works in the kitchen, was sneezing! She sneezed three times. Id already paid for my food, and was very hungry. I hoped it would be OK, but within 2 hours, I was vomiting, had diarrhea, and have been fighting flu like symptoms for over 10 days. This isnt the first time Ive had a similar experience here, but I thought it might have been caused by other things. This has happened too many times, and as much as I like the people who own Cam Huong, I cant risk my health.As well, I recently walked past here; and the gates to their alley were open, I noticed that the back alley of the restaurant is absolutely filthy. All of these things make me wonder about the overall cleanliness and hygiene practices of this operation.

They have something for everyone to enjoy since they have such a great variety of items. I just think they can get better wifi so that they dont inconvenience customer who use their phones to pay. While there are better banh mi spots in Oakland, Cam Huong on International has become my go to I want a ton of Vietnamese food on the cheap spot. When you enter there will be a center table covered with premade rice or noodle + proteins dishes, desserts, and other snacks. Ill grab these on a Saturday when I know I dont have a Sunday lunch planned out. Then you round the table passing more snacks and pre-made drinks in a fridge before coming to the main counter. You can order drinks, hot food, and eventually sandwiches. When it comes to the hot food, I like grabbing a small container of either the Chinese sausage fried rice, vegetarian pad thai, or chow mein with pork. A small will be at least two meals, so order accordingly. From there, I typically get a #6 banh mi - combination with pork cake. I have ordered the chicken and the sardine and both were solid. Before you pay, make sure to order some eggrolls - while greasy they are delicious - as well as meat pies, spam musubi, and other fried delights. Usually Ill end up with 2-3 meals of food for less than $20.

I love their Vietnamese coffee. My boyfriend loves their Bahn Mi sandwiches. Today I tried an entree dish with fried rice, chow fun and BBQ pork. It was really good and a really nice portion! I added a little soy sauce for taste and that was about it. They also have a new updated menu! Its much easier to understand and helps out when ordering. I think Ill try a Pho Bowl next time.

Yall I went to Vietnam recently and had banh mis in Hanoi and Da Nang. All I could think about was how much better the ones back home at Cam Huong tasted. Also I didnt get food poisoning either in the years I ate here unlike over there, where I had to stay in bed sick for a day after eating a banh mi 😅Best banh mis everrrrr!! I dont know how they do it but their Banh Mis have the perfect bread texture and are overall yummy, well priced, and have a lot of protein options to choose from. Ive been coming to Cam Huong ever since it was located on Webster in Chinatown. I used to order food here for catering parties at Asian Health Services. Ive always had a crush on the younger lady who I speak to now and then. The food reminds me of old Oakland Chinatown which used to have affordable comfort food including Cantonese and Vietnamese food now hard to find, so going to Cam Huong is like getting Soul Food to me. Ive been coming here for 25 plus years.So the reasoning behind a 3 star review is this. I bought what I usually get, prepared rolls, a dessert from the freezer, ice coffee and a vegetarian sandwich - bi chay. I waited and waited and heard the staff yelling at each other in Vietnamese about a vegetarian sandwich. And then I thought oh great, I hope they dont mess it up.So it turns out after riding my food to the Lake on my bike to eat, after opening my sandwich- it was filled with CURRY TOFU???I was so insulted. To make it worse, the one I have a crush on made it.I hate when establishments think I dont know what Im ordering and give me a bait and switch just to get me out the door. Made me mad that I gave them a good tip too as I usually do.Have yet to go back as Im still upset.

Im not sure how I managed to miss this place as a Oakland native. Ive been going to the sister restaurant in Oakland Chinatown for years, until they closed recently.If you feel comfortable going to dives, then the angels will sing when you walk through the door. They have an overwhelming selection of Vietnamese food, at good prices and plenty of seating. If you arent familiar with the cuisine, then there will be a lot of pointing at what you want to try. You can order sandwiches, noodle soups or multi-item plates. For multi-item plates, just select from the numerous buffet items and they will put together a container of food for a fair price. I ordered 3 items. It is all so delicious and satisfying.Im kicking myself for not finding this place sooner.

The restaurant is NOT a willing participant and the driver will have to try and place your order once there.The restaurant has fresh prepackaged meals, desserts, and snacks along with commercial products. In addition, there is a large variety of made-to-order and premade food under heat lamps.The prices are reasonable and its been fun trying out new dishes/snacks especially seeing how it looks/whats in it before purchasing. This is real Saigon Street Food. Chicken sandwich is absolutely die for, the spring rolls, fresh rolls, soup, and other dishes, are fresh, economical, and best of all, you can feed two people with a variety of flavors and dishes, for under $20. A local favorite when im back in The Town. Tofu, or chicken banh mi is my go to. Its all about the baguette and theirs is usually on point. I Wash it down with a VN ice coffee, great way to start any day.Dont come here looking for 5star service and waves/hellos/goodbyes and all that cuckery. NEVER AGAIN! I ate one off the steamed buns and began to vomit about 19 minutes later. I went to examine the other buns (I had purchased ten) and found that they ALL had mold on the bottoms. Yuck!I wouldnt have survived college in the early 90s without this place. The service has always been questionable but have alway enjoyed the flavors of the fish balls, meat patties, chicken and rice, etc. I always stop by to load up on old favorites when ever Im in Oakland. I will mitt return to this establishment.

Cam Huong is a gem known by locals for their fresh banh mi sandwiches. This place offers loads of various Asian snacks as well as ready to go meals. Their banh mi which has an amazing price, has loads of types to offer. I love changing it up on visits, my go to is the chicken teriyaki. Overall Cam Huong is a very casual and friendly place to grab your lunch or grab lots of food for family. The only downside to Cam Huong is the lowkey depressing atmosphere in the restaurant itself. Besides that, very solid place with amazing good priced food.

They open at 0700, but closed Tuesdays. Had one of their house specials #15 Bun cha ha noi, pork & shrimp vermicelli lettuce wrap $8. Ive had this dish in Hanoi, but this isnt one that all that great. They used small pieces of grilled pork here overcooked and tough, shrimp and sliced ground pork like bologna texture which were not in the ones tasted in Hanoi. It was still a decent dish with flavors and textures that I find intriguing, much more so that at any fast food restaurant.

No frills inside and minimal furnishings but the Bahn Mi are the star here (all the sandwiches are $3-$5 each). I had three items $7 with tax, all tasty with customer recommended chicken skewer the best. Chow Fun noodles needed more flavor and were sticky or it would be a 5 rating. $3 to $3.50 for a nice size carton of anything, they say its medium.Parking is difficult so I parked at nearby Peralta Park and had a nice walk and picked up fresh produce on the way back.
