This place is fantastic. The food was fresh and cooked well. They appeared to be short staffed and getting a large amount of call in orders to go, however we’re still able to seat and serve me in a reasonable amount of time. The staff maintained a great personality and provided a high level of service despite the workload. I overheard one waiter tell another patron they are hiring if you or anyone you know who may be well suited to be a great addition to this wonderful staff. I got the almond chicken and was not disappointed. Even the almonds were very fresh. The quality of food is not common among Chinese restaurants, which I’m sure is why they have an overwhelming amount of orders. They are open on Monday’s which I also find to be a rarity these days in this area. If you haven’t been then you must know it may be a little wait, but great things are worth waiting for.

I love this place! The food is consistently amazing, and not to mention, quick. The restaurant is kept incredibly clean and holds a comfortable atmosphere. Seating options are wonderful and the menu offers many options for different needs and tastes. Liliana and Joseph are awesome and attentive servers, and the owner herself is a lovely person! I will be coming back here frequently!

The first time I walked out of a restaurant without eating the food I already paid for. The service is bad AND the plates are over priced. Pictured is the Cantonese Scallops lunch special served with cold soup and three pieces of scallops for only $9! (To be fair there was about twice the amount of rice)

Best Chinese food in town! Family owned and operated with great traditional favorites like kung pao chicken, fried rice, egg rolls, crunchy vegetables but be sure try the ginger fish! Everything is so fresh and the staff is friendly and attentive. Very reasonably priced.

Ive come here a few times with my wife. The food is decent, specialty cocktails alright, but the service is REALLY bad. All day happy hour on Wednesday is nice for a weekday date out. This place could really use a good manager. So much potential that is really missed with service staff that seemingly have never worked a table before.

The food in my experience has been almost always fantastic. There was one time quite a while ago when I ordered to go and it wasnt very good but the last few times Ive gone have been sensational. Staff is always very kind and courteous, the restaurant is always very clean and there is always a fun relaxing environment. You HAVE to try the cream cheese wontons. I know its not traditional Cantonese but still so good! 8.5/10 Would definitely recommend.

I love this place. The food is very flavorful. The staff always friendly with the focus to keep customers happy. At least, that’s what I experience. I come at least once a week.Check out the lunch specials! You get soup, one main dish with rice, sesame ball and of course the fortune cookie. You can upgrade from rice to brown rice, fried rice, or chow mein and even add additional meat or shrimp all for an additional price. Lunch specials 11:30 -3:30Full Bar HAPPY HOUR 3:00-6:00Open ever day. Check their website for hours.Very kid friendly and wheel chair access.

We would give a 3 star rating for the kitchen and a 1.5 star rating for the front of the house. We went on Christmas Eve early evening. The place was packed and very loud. It was hard to communicate. The wait was about 1 hour. After 10 minutes seated, someone (we haven’t ordered yet) suddenly brought plates stacked on top of each other and placed them at the side of the table along a bunch of forks. Beside that we never had forks presumably put on the table at a Chinese restaurant we noticed that dishwater was swimming on the plates. We dried the plates with the napkins. After 20 minutes and several attempts to get any attention from the wait staff, we finally received some water which had a chlorine taste. We were quite hungry when the food came. The cups for the soup had also dishwater in them which we needed to drain first and dry with the napkins. The waiter spilled an order of an overfilled beer glass on the chair next to me and the small glass of wine was only a third filled. We spent about 3 hours at the restaurant. The food was OK and the people are friendly. We felt that we paid way too much for the service. But to be fair: the place was packed. They probably did not have enough trained wait staff. Maybe next time we will try take out.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Santa Cruz county. Many people enjoy the takeout service, but be warned it can take a lot longer than they tell you on the phone. But the food is delicious with pretty generous serving sizes at a reasonable prices.

My son and I eat out a lot. We tried Canton for the first time recently and were very impressed. We went back a week later and had the same great experience. In my opinion its the best Chinese restaurant in the Bay area.My son says that Dynasty is also very good. I have never eaten there and will take my girlfriend today; as I am curious now.

Best chinese food Ive had in this area in quite a while. We had potstickers as an appetizer, they were done perfectly, and fresh tasting, then we had the sauteed spicy green beans and the mongolian beef as our main course, with a large white rice. everything was great, distinctive flavors, not too greasy, not too salty, just the right amount of heat. Well definitely be going back!

I love this place. The food is delicious and the vegetables are always fresh. And they give you generous portions. I often get the dishes with scallops and they are nice and big, not the cheap, tiny bay scallops other Chinese restaurants serve. Go there, you wont be disappointed.

This place is amazing. Love the sizzling rice soup, chicken and string beans, and most of all their spicy sauce. Actually, I can say with 100% confidence that I could order anything on Canton’s menu and it would be delicious. They provide friendly service and great cocktails! I love Cantons.

Food is always fresh. This place hasnt changed in 30 years, same family, same awesome food and a new great building only a block away from the original location. Happy hour on Wednesdays goes all night. Awesome happy hour menu and $3 draft beer!! You cant beat this spot.

I had a lunch special and I felt the price was reasonable and the serving size was perfect. The place was relatively busy when I arrived and the waitress seemed to be stretched a little thin; main courses came out before appetizers and drinks, waitress mixed up whose food/drink was whoses. Since I only have one experience to go off of I am unsure if this is a common occurrence or a rarity...

So in Santa Cruz there are so many other Chinese places you can spend your money. 1st of all, we got to our table and my lemonade had little black crumbs or something in it. The waitress saw me messing with it and didnt say something until the next time she came around. We waited a whole hour for our main dishes. We received our miso soup and rice which was subpar. And then continued on waiting and watching everyone that came in after us get their food, eat and leave. 2nd the waitress brought us a salad on the house for the wait which My boyfriend enjoyed but i thought it tasted like lettuce with peanut butter. She brought our first meal out which was the wrong meal! We had to send that back. 3rd our meal came out and yeah it tasted okay but we were just so disappointed to even finish it we just wanted to leave. Lastly, our waitress apologized numerous times and said its normally not like this and gave us 20% off and free refills and said this is all I can give you for a $27 meal, making it only $22 is not a big difference especially since the wait was literally forever. She then brought us fortune cookies which are normally the cherry on top, but OH MY GOSH did they taste like salt!!! Didnt even taste sweet or good. Was so disappointed. Will never be going here again. Ill be taking my business elsewhere. Good luck.

Ordered takeout and overall quality of food was poor.Chicken and Pork Chow Mein noodles were the size of large spagetti, very little chicken, pork and was luke warm.Sweet and Sour Chicken, no flavor.Pot Stickers very little filling.Spring rolls very little filling.

February 25, 2014 - Food okay, service SUCKS, The waitress was rude, so it didnt give us a good feeling having our lunch there. After I paid my bill and gave her a penny tip, I told her you are the rudest person I ever had and she said I dont care and I also told her I would give this place a bad review on the website, she said I dont care. It really hurts me to write this because the owner who are a couple senior citizens are really nice people, they are the ones who will really be affected. Every review counts no matter who it is.

The service we received today was horrible, it was like our server didnt like us. The happy hour every day is in fact, false advertisement. When we ordered off the happy hour menu, we was told that it probably isnt happy hour because its the holidays. The big massive sign outside the establishment didnt say except for holisays and neither did the menu. When I pointed this out to our server, she said yes indeed the menu does say every day. When my friend asked our server to double check if its happy hour, our server then said it definitely isnt without even checking for us. Then, after going away for a moment and coming back, she said my boss said well do happy hour, shes a people pleaser...... I was astounded. First of all lie to your customers, and then when you honor your word because someone pulls you up on it, make it sound like your customer is the problem and youre doing them the favour, rudely. A pretty terrible place unless youre into getting insulted and lied to.

The food was very good, the service was friendly but very slow. The neighboring tables probably felt that way too. One had the impression that there was no chef. When you have to wait almost 40 minutes for a Hot and Sour Soup you wonder whats going on. We were close to leaving the restaurant without eating... However, in the end we were very satisfied with the food.
