This place makes great food. You can honestly have a great meal for $15, if you are feeling a bit hungry you can head and share a boiler with friends. Lobster, crab, clams...You will end up spending $30 each but it is really worth it.I would say not to go for the lobster but for the crab.You really have to take the lemon sauce, it is simply amazing. A little high on the sugar but amazing amount of garlic.The place is nice.Also, oyster happy hours ($1) on Monday and Tuesday, and beers $2 also Monday and Tuesday!

Our favorite, number one goto, seafood boil restaurant in the Bay Area. We usually get king crab legs, clams and shrimp with heads off. One thing distinctive about this place is that quality of the seafood is top quality. This is one of the main reasons I stopped going to any other places that serve similar dishes. Everything here is consistently tasty and fresh. We had the fried calamari before and were impressed how crispy from the outside and tender from inside. The staff is very friendly and service is always top notch. Ambience is interesting. We highly recommend this place.

We got the boiler combo as a party of 4 and it was delicious; I was surprised at how reasonably priced it was! The flavors had us licking our fingers and everything on the plate was amazing, from the king crab legs to the corn. We also had the garlic noodles and Cajun fries, and those were great too! Service was attentive and welcoming as well :)Am definitely planning on coming back and would highly recommend to anyone looking to eat seafood boil!!

Best seafood boil in town! I didn’t do a review of this place cause I wanted to keep it to myself 😁! I found this place almost two years ago and I LOVED IT! This hidden gem in exactly what I’ve been looking for! Short wait time (maybe no wait time - depends on what time of the day), must have Cap’t Loui seafood boil sauce, and - of course desserts! Did I mention the cute CapriSun containers for the drinks?!Oh and if you’re on a date, they have mouthwash in the bathroom 😉

I highly recommend the raw oysters. It tastes so good. Wished I had space for more.Jambalaya is interesting spiciness, not the type of spiciness associted with Malaysian food.As a Malaysian, I advise go for medium spiciness If not spicy enough, can always add more tobasco

Stopped by for a quick lunch. For two of us, we ordered one item from the seafood boil section and another from the fried food section: 1/2 pound crab and 1/2 pound calamari with the lemon pepper sauce and the fishermans platter (comes with 6 shrimp, 1/2 cup of calamari, 1 soft shell crab, 2 fish, and lots of fries).The seafood boil came out first, followed by the fishermans platter about 10 minutes later. We were sharing both, so it wasnt an issue. The seafood boil was good, but it took a while to get done with the crab. The crackers didnt work that well with it because some of the shells were too soft to crack through. By the time I got done with the seafood boil items,.the fishermans platter had cooled down a lot. It was still good, but I would have preferred it hotter. Good food, but Id reconsider mixing boil and fried food unless the items you get in the boil are easy to eat. For seafood, the prices were ok (market price for seafood boil items and ours came out to over $30 for a pound of seafood). Not something we would do often that often, but was nice to try.

We got the seafood platter and garlic noodles! The place looked very new and location is convenient in Main Square Cupertino with lots of other shops. Unfortunately the seafood wasn’t fresh and tasted frozen so shrimp and mussel is hard, and garlic noodles portion was really small. Also they give out free desserts for google and yelp review. So be wary of that might be a contributing factor for all of the good reviews here.

When we walk in, the staff told us we can sit anywhere, which was nice. They are surprisingly spacious and have lots of booths. The menu is kinda smaller than I expected but good nonetheless. When you order the boiler combo, try to at least order 2 like for example, snow crab + king crab so you can get the free side and youll be satisfied. The sides are $6.95 each and its expensive for a small portion. Onto the main course, the crabs were so good along with the hot special house sauce, made me teared up. However, there were 1 piece of corn and 2 potatoes (the corn was surprisingly sweet but I didnt try the potatoes). We were still hungry so we got the fryer combo of fish + calamari, and fries. Absolutely worth it and cant say anything bad. The drinks were a little underwhelming for me but it might be different for others. Lastly, the service was outstanding. The staffs were very attentive, free mints/wipes, and they have mouthwash in the bathroom. 9/10, would go back sometime

This place taste really good. There are 2 flavors in the boiled bag and they both taste very good. The snow crab was very fresh and peeled apart easily. Usually when I go to seafood boil places, I get a food hangover the next day due to too much salt, not from this place. Will return. Came here after hearing about their $1 Wednesday deal for raw oysters on the half shell! But honestly... I think their seafood boil is much better. I wouldnt recommend coming here if you plan to just get oysters...I really like the Capt Loui sauce! Although its your typical cajun sauce, its not super salty like other places. Very easy to eat. Mild was perfect for me. We got the Pick 2 Boil Combo with Shrimp Head On and Mussels. The shrimp was cooked well and the mussels were a good size! This was a good amount of food for two people to share. I recommend pairing it with the Garlic Noodles! Small portion for $7, but the noodles were yummy. Theres melted cheese on top!Back to the oysters... They were shucked poorly. There were bits of shell all over the flesh, and some were mangled into a pool of milky liquid! Not done well at all. Looks like the shucker was in a hurry or getting frustrated? Also... These were HUGE. Im talking hand-sized big! If you know about oysters, the bigger they are... the better they are cooked. Not raw. So this was pretty disappointing. They were very meaty and somewhat-firm in texture. Not very briny in flavor either. I wasnt a fan. -1 star for the oysters.

Really good seafood boil place with super nice service too! We got dungeness crab, mussel, and calamari with the signature capt loui sauce. The crab was good but Im not good at eating crab so it took me a while. Mussel and calamari was good with the sauce too. Each bag comes with corn and potato, and the corn was definitely a stand out for me, super sweet. Complimented the garlic butter flavor of their sauce well. For the free sides we got the garlic noodles and sweet potato fries. My favorite was the garlic noodles but the sweet potato fries were hot, fresh, and tasty as well. We also tried the half dozen of raw oysters which was fine. One of them tasted a bit weird but that might be normal? Im not sure how good raw oysters are supposed to taste, we got it mainly because my friend wanted to try it.The service was amazing, they regularly asked if we needed anything and also gave us extra garlic noodles along with their signature funnel cake ice cream dessert on the house. Will definitely want to come back again.

We were sat immediately on a Wednesday night. Food came out quite fast. We ordered 1lb of shrimp and a basket of calamari (that comes with fries). It was nice to see that the shrimp comes with a corn and potato. We chose their house sauce for the seafood boil and it was surprising to see that the sauce was mostly just chili oil. The calamari basket was filled with 70% fries. It was not a busy night, but the servers only came to our table to dropped off the food and to pass us the check. Overall, mediocre experience on both food and service.

It was my first time ordering takeout from Cap’t Loui and the owner kindly explained and helped me with my order. I ordered boiler combo - pick three and it was bigger than I expected. The shrimp and mussels were so fresh and the seasoning (hot) was so delicious. Even the potatoes and corn on the cob that came with it were so delicious that I enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend Cap’t Loui to others.

KAUNG is one of the best servers ever! When we first walked in, he was courteous and polite. Warm welcoming greeting. The food was awesome 👌! The sauce was amazing in the boil. The fish was fresh. Not too salty. There is nothing negative to say about this place of business at all! The restrooms were clean. We brought our kids who also enjoyed the food. We order the sausage as a side and it came with 2 corns! We added some garlic bread and it was amazing. A little hidden gem for seafood lovers. This food was the most exciting experience I had in San Jose. First time trying for wife’s birthday we decided here instead of boiling crab or backyard bayou, some of the other Cajun spots we’ve tried. We loved the food the sauce is amazing we got medium Cajun style and it was spicy but slightly sweet very good would recommend it. Sadly, the generously portioned fries were the best part of my meal, and they were mediocre at best. Personally, Id prefer to save a buck and get a smaller portion of fries. Think two large fries from McDs, with similar cut, but not remotely comparable. Even with Cajun seasoning, they needed ketchup, and I didnt finish them.I came for fried fish (note that its not shown on the menu in store), because thats what I was in the mood for, but it was very disappointing. Three strips, small but adequate. The batter is fine, but the fish was tough and rubbery. Ive never had fish get stuck in my teeth before. The sauces were fine, and the tartar sauce tasted a bit like vinegar.They also included a cup of coleslaw, which was fine. No color, but not the worst Ive had.For that meal, with a can of soda, it was just over $20 before tip. Pretty disappointing overall, but I would return to try a crawfish boil if I can find someone to go with.The service was fine, and I didnt have to wait long for my order. Maybe 5-7 minutes, but there were no other customers during my visit.

The waiter walked us through the menu, so we understood what we were ordering and how we were going to have to eat it. We got crab and mussels and the flavor was really good! I dont love the work involved in eating the crab, so I would choose an easier to eat menu item in the future and would recommend that for anyone not used to working to get the meat out of their food. I ordered the garlic shrimp lunch special, which come with garlic noodles and the side I chose was half corn and half broiled potato; a drink is included.The quantity was substantial and the price modest. The garlic shrimp was good. The garlic noodles were superb. The small corn on the cob was good. The boiled (or broiled) potato was not cooked sufficiently, that is, it was hard (undercooked).The décor inside Capt Loui is pleasant enough – not fancy but not ordinary.The waiter was cordial. I liked him.Here are some suggestions for the manager and owner:1) Your employees were playing moderately loud rock and rap music, both of which I found irritating. Do you want to irritate your customers? I recommend either no music or some soft instrumental music played at low volume.2) The utensils were plastic. That creates the feeling of cheapness. Further it is awful for Mother Nature. There are many documentaries that explain how so much plastic unintentionally ends up on sidewalks, streets, and in the ocean. Please use metal utensils to help save our environment.There is plenty of free parking in the nearby parking structure and a few spaces on the street.
